Importing an animated PPT

I just finished importing an animated PPT from PowerPoint
2003 into Captivate 3. When I play the SWF file, the animation is
greatly speeded up. I have tried to extend the time using the
Timeline in the Edit tab, but to no success. What do I need to do
differently?

Additionally, I consulted the Captivate 3 User Guide, Chapter
17: Troubleshooting. Under Troubleshooting animation timing, the
guide recommends the following:
1. Double-click the animation bar in the Timeline to open the
Animation dialog.
2. Click the Options tab.
3. Select Synchronize with project.
This resulted in removal of the animation altogether!

  • How to publish a Captivate piece to Import as Animation with Media Player Controls

I want to record a demonstration of an application using
Captivate 3. Then, I want to publish this as a flash piece. (swf).
Then, I want to "import as animation" into a WBT template using
Captivate. The issue I am having is importing the flash piece to
include the media player controls so the user has control of only
that flash piece. Usually, we get two swf files one of the main
recording and another of the skin (media player). I know I am
missing something either in my publishing options or somewhere
    else.
    Can anyone help?

    Welcome to our community, juando_m
You might try this. In the first project, click Project >
Skin... > Borders tab and DE-select the "Show Borders" check
box. This should coax the playback controls into the main part of
the movie so there is a single .SWF. You could then have the
playback controls present in the .SWF you insert into the second
    Captivate.
Note that doing this will also cause the playback controls to
    cover part of the movie.
I'm not sure how well the playback controls will work once
the project gets inside the second. So I wouldn't be too surprised
if they failed to work. But they might. So it's definitely worth
    trying to see.

  • Importing Flash Animation into Captivate

I am trying to Import an animation from flash 8 into
Captivate. It allows me to do this however the frame rate of the
animation which was created in flash when imported to Captivate
changes. Does anyone know how change the frame rate of the
    animation in captivate.

Hi laxmi1 and welcome to the community
Hopefully when you created your Flash animation, you
    published as Flash 6 output.
I believe the standard frame rate for Flash is 12. Captivate
is 30. So you can either bump the Flash rate up to 30 and
re-publish, or in Captivate, you can adjust the frame rate to match
Flash and set it for 12. To do this, click Movie >
Preferences... > Preferences tab. From there, it should be quire
    obvious what to do.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • Importing Audio for ppt files in Captivate

How do you import audio and sync over multiple powerpoint slides? I'm using Captivate 6

    Welcome,
But this is a Captivate forum, not a PPT forum.  If you use Captivate only for converting ppt-slides maybe a plug-in would be a better idea (Adobe Presenter, iSpring).
Record the audio in Captivate, using the Audio menu. You'll get one audio clip for each slide. And then you use the timeline to synchronize the appearance of objects. But if you are importing PPT-slides that have already animations and timings, you have to know that in CP you end up with a movie file, a recording of the PPT-slide, so synchronizing with a movie is not that easy as you perhaps know. While recording the audio you can watch the movie play in CP.

  • Importing GIF Animations - Help!

Am I doing something wrong? I created some animations in
Photoshop and saved them as GIF files. They view great in HTML, but
when I import the images into Captivate, the timing on some of the
animations are messed up. I played around with the timing in
Captivate, but it made no difference. I also made the animations
play longer in Photoshop and then imported them again, but again,
it made no difference. Also, I want the background of the
animations to be transparant, and when I import the images, the
    background changes black?
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thankyou.

HI yankeebrit and welcome to our community
As for the timing, I'm guessing you have an option in
Photoshop to determine or configure the speed? I have played with
an older application called Microsoft GIF Animator and you are able
to configure the duration of each animation frame there. Often, a
GIF animation is somewhere around 10 frames per second.
As for the background color, I'm guessing that black (or near
black) is set as the transparent color in Photoshop? I don't
believe the transparency will come through. So probably the best
you can do is to set the background color to match whatever you are
    placing the image against.
Hopefully something here was helpful... Rick

  • Importing gif animations into Elements 12 on Mac

Ok, I have searched quite extensively for a specific, accurate answer and am not
clear about the conflicting responses I have encountered.  To wit:  I bought Elements 2
for a PC several years ago. It had two nice features for my enjoyment of making .gif animations.
    (1) It allowed me to import the .gif animations AND all the layers.  (2) It allowed me to control
the speed when I made my own animations and saved them in .gif format.
However, when I bought Elements 8 for my iMac, I discovered I could not load .gif animations
and get the frames/layers, nor could I choose any speed except .2.
Ok, these are my specific questions:  If I order Elements 12 to run on my iMac (OS X 10.9.2)
will it allow me to load the entire .gif animation and show the frames/layers, AND will it allow me
to choose my own speed when saving a .gif animation.
I know if I save an animation in .psd format that I can reload it, showing the layers.  That is not
what I want to do.  I want to save in .gif format and load in .gif format.  Thanks!

PSE12 should be able to open layered gifs with all the original layers intact. You need to use:
    File >> Save For Web
When the dialog opens if you select GIF from the top dropdown list the information for sped is normally grayed out. However if you put a checkmark in the box “Animate” the fields for frame delay and looping become live. You can then change the speed and have looping forever. Then re-save.
Why not download the trial version from the link below and use it free for 30 days. You can then see if it fully meets your needs.

  • Importing Flash Animation AS3 into Captivate 3.0

I have some animations and interactions that were written in
Flash AS3, that work fine when published in a SWF file and run with
FlashPlayer 9, but they don't work at all when I import them into
Captivate 3.0. In Captivate, they seem to run when they apear in
the in the Insert -> Animation dialog box., but then once they
are placed in Captivate, they don't show up at all when I Preview
-> Project (F4). The dialog box says that the duration of the
animation is 00:00:00.1 (i.e., one tenth of a second!). What was on
the stage (from the Flash file) shows up, but none of the AS3 code
    works. Help!!

If you create an AS3 widget in Cp4, you'll notice that is starts you off using a template.  Most of the action takes place on the onEnterFrame event handler.  If you want something specific to occur at a certain time, you must place a condition for either the current slide, or the current frame.  Otherwise, the actions you describe above will occur... you animation AS3 code just executes immediately because Cp doesn't know when to execute it otherwise .  I'd suggest that you either use the widget framework, or place a condition in your code for executing on a specific frame or slide.  When I create widgets, I check for a specific frame:
    if (mainmov.rdinfoCurrentFrame  == currentFrameCheck) {
         //your code here
If you go this route, I'd look into another function called AddNoSkipFrame which ensures Cp4 will not skip over the frame you're trying to check.  You can read more about it here.  And there's a thread about it here.
    Good Luck,

  • Importing SolidWorks animations

    Hi all!
I have animations created in SolidWorks 2007.
It's all-impotant for me to use this animations as 3d content in PDF.
    How can I do it?
    Best regards,
    Yuri L. Kovalev

Hi ketaza and welcome to our community
The bottom line is that if you choose to Import the
presentation, you get static images. It's just the nature of the
way PowerPoint Import works with Captivate. If you feel it should
be different, you should consider submitting a Wish Form by
    clicking
    here.
Alternatively, you can retain the animations by simply
recording your PowerPoint. Essentially, you set up your slide show
to play in a window by clicking
Slide Show > Set Up Show... and selecting the
Browsed by an individual (window) option. You then configure
Captivate to record. You move through the show. But where you wish
to preserve the PowerPoint animations, you press
F9 to start full motion capture. Then after the animation
    completes, you press
    F10.
Hopefully this either helps directly or spawns a thought that
    eventually does.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Importing Flash Animations Into iWeb...

I noticed that in the few days I have had the privilege of using iWeb, I have noticed that Flash animations that I have created only show up as links on the page, and not actual Flash animations (meaning, when wanting to show the Flash animations on a website, they only show up as a small link, and don't automatically run on the website....
So, my question is this: Does iWeb support Flash animations? If so, how do you import them into iWeb without them simply showing up as links? Thanks in advance for your swift response....

Just any theme download from a site is not enough. The 3rd party themes must be designed specifically for iWeb and, as such, should have an installer included.
Otherwise, start with either the white, black, or formal themes and use graphic files from those themes to create a custom design.

  • After Effects won't import any animation presets from Bridge.

I just installed Creative Cloud.  It seems to be working fine, except that when I try to apply Animation Presets into After Effects through Bridge, it gives me an error message saying "Can't import file xxx.fxx: unsupported filtype or extension"
I'm not trying to import a "file" or anything.... simply trying to apply an animation preset to a video clip on an AE timeline.  Never had any issues doing this with CS5.  Anyone know what's going on?

  • Want to import Edge animation as hover over link reaction, is there a good tutorial for this?

Hey guys, I just got Edge Animate yesterday, and I understand most of the animation techniques since it's very similar to After Effects. However I am having trouble integrating it with Dreamweaver. So far I can publish is as an .html file and hotlink to it. What this does right now in a preview browser, I will click on the link connected to the EdgeAnimate.html file and it will open a new window, play the animation and that's it. (I know you can set images in the animation to thier own links as well, just don't have it set up yet)
However, what I actually want to accomplish is to use these animations in my main dreamweaver website layout I am currently working on right now. As an example, let's say I have 4 link buttons in this crude layout:
    -Images             |              empty space                |
    -Videos             |              empty space                |
    -About              |              empty space                |
    -Contact            |              empty space                |
When I hover over the links on the lefthand side, let's say the "Images" link, I'd like a short animation I made in Edge to play in the    | empty space |   part of my web layout. When I hover over the other links, I want the animation they trigger to be different. When I click on the link, it will take you to a different page.
I hope this made sense and someone can lend me a hand, it will be greatly appreciated. I am pretty new to Dreamweaver so many of the code terms are a bit difficult to understand still.
    Thanks in advance!
p.s. if there are video tutorials or something that already covers this, a link to that would be great.

    Hi there!
You could easily make the buttons with the rollover animation in Edge Animate itself, rather than have the animation separate from the links in Dreamweaver. You would make an animation in a symbol and then reference the symbol in the rollover function of the link. I'm providing a sample project below for you to check out:
      https://creative.adobe.com/share/c0a2785d-1a43-482b-afa2-11620b367e8
If you need further clarification, let me know. After you create your links and animations you can import the entire navigation into your Dreamweaver project using Insert > Media > Edge Animate Composition.
    I hope this helps!

  • Importing Flash animation into Catalyst

Is Catalyst yet capable of importing and using movie clips made in flash, or it can only use static images on layers from Photoshop and Illustrator?  If not, I'd like to say that I really like the idea of making Flash animation movie clips how I usually do, but then being able to utilize them in the Catalyst environment.  So for example le't say I want to create rollover animations for buttons, could I make that in Flash and then bring that into Catalyst?
Also, do I need CS4 to use Catalyst?  Thanks.

    Hi,
Creating transitions in Flash Catalyst does not require writing any ActionScript code.  Although animation in Flash Catalyst is most commonly created via state transitions, you can also create animation without states by using an action sequence (which you can trigger from any interaction, just like a state transition).
Here are some video tutorials introducing animation in Flash Catalyst:

  • Import flash animation into edge animate

    Hi,
I need to import a flash vector cartoon style animation into edge animate, do you know how can I do it?
    Kind regards,
    eugenxi

    Hi eugenxi,
You can use the Export Png Sequence feature included with Flash CS6 to export a series of pngs from your symbol animation (tut by Tom Green):
    http://layersmagazine.com/png-sequence-from-flash-cs6.html
Then import the pngs to Fireworks, and use John Dunning's plugin to export a symbol directly to Edge Animate:
