Importing and displaying captions in My Albums

I have captioning info in the IPTC area of all my photos that are in both Aperture and iPhoto. However, if I add photos to an iWeb album from either, it just displays the keywords beneath the photos. How can I import the captions to display on the web page without having to re-type everything?
Any advice as to how to automatically display captioning in my iPhoto library under each photo would be appreciated too -- I have feeling this is all linked.

Randy:
The only way I know of is to use this Applescript to write the iPhoto comments into the Title fields of the photos before adding the photos to an iWeb photo page or web album.

  • Importing and displaying captions from Aperture to iPhoto

    I'm using Aperture as my main photo library, then exporting select pictures with a copyright watermark on them. Then I'm importing those watermarked photos into iPhoto so that I can drag them into albums in iWeb (so the watermarks show).
    I'd like for the captions to show under the photos in iPhoto, but instead the keywords do. I can't find a place to require iPhoto to display the captions other than the little caption window in the lower left of the window.
    Problem is, I need the captions to chow up ultimately under the photos in the iWeb albums, but they don't. Instead, it's the keywords that show up, just like they do in iPhoto. My reasoning is that if I can get the captions to display under the photo in iPhoto, they will do the same in iWeb (I could be wrong on this).
    So the ultimate question is: how to get iPhoto to import and display Aperture-entered captions and then pass them on to iWeb.
    I've seen a few variants on this topic, but none that specifically address this issue.

    Randy
    There is no way to make iPhoto display the captions under the Photos in iPhoto. For specific help with iWeb, try posting on that forum.

  • Is it possible to import and display/plot (Google Earth) KML files as overlays in Mac OS 10.9 Maps application?

    Is it possible to import and display/plot (Google Earth) KVM files as overlays in Mac OS 10.9 Maps application?
    Here is the particular application: (note I haven't gotten the code to compile yet -- seems to be several differently named environment variables in Mac unix than in Linux that are making the compile blow up -- but that's another issue) there is a freeware application that can do radio path loss prediction and plot path loss contours on a map. It has an option to output the data as KML files which can be imported into Google Earth, in order to display the path loss contours on Google Earth maps. I guess you could liken it to displaying overlays of GIS-like data in Google Earth. I would like to know if there is a mechanism to facilitate importing KML data files to overlay (preferably in a translucent fasion so that you could see the underlying map) onto Mac OS 10.9 Maps?

    They're also known to patent things they never release. And that application was filed in 2012 and is really for something rather different.

    As I stated, "possibly."
    While the commerce side of it has little to do with the KML files, per se, the API for the layer data should allow for any type of overlay.
    Also, the patent was filed Dec 19, 2013. There was a related patent filed in 2012. Not sure what it is about.

  • Treat JPEG files next to raw files as seperate files still imports and displays them as seperate images

    Hi, I am taking RAW + JPEG files on a Nikon D810. The RAW files are saving to a CF (primary slot) and JPEGs to an Eye-Fi card (secondry slot). When I am importing into Lightroom 5 directly from the camera, even though I have 'Treat JPEG files next to raw files as seperate files' UNchecked in preferences, it still imports and displays them as seperate images. I am trying to import the JPEG as a sidecar file only to the RAW file as I have read about but this is not happening, any ideas why? Thanks

    Well in Lightroom they are apart from each other before the actual import, all the JPGs list first then all the NEF files next. The same actual photo as the NEF or as the JPEG both have the same file name apart from the .JPG or .NEF so that is not the problem. The NEFs go to the CF card and the JPGs go to the EyeFi SD card, I think you are onto the issue but I'm not sure what I need to do to fix it. I guess I need to change a setting on the D810 itself. There really doesn't seem to be any other settings apart from the RAW + JPEG vs only one or the other and allocating which card is primary for the RAWs and which card is secondry for the JPEGs. I really need the JPEGs to go to the EyeFi SD (secondary) for live iPad image viewing and not to the same primary card (CF) as the NEFs (RAWs) go. This does seem to be a typical setup so I would think it has been encountered before.
    Thanks for your help any other advise is appreciated.

    3) Execute it and here you create document and select
       screen in the Document types then upload the bmp or
       gif file and save it.
    4) After that use this in when displaying in Container.

  • Xml attributes - importing and displaying in InDesign document to print

    Hello! I am importing XML into InDesign. I need to display the metadata within the attributes in the document that will be printed . For example, if I'm creating a lesson plan and the "Toady's Lesson" tag has the attributes of: "lesson 2", "Day 2", "Read pages 3-5". I want those attributes to display under "Today's Lesson."  Is it possible to this with InDesign? I did not write this code so there's nothing I can do on that end, I have to work with what was given to me. I've been looking into this for a couple of days and can't find anything on this topic. I would greatly appreciate your help with this!
    thanks!!

    Hi
    You are right each cell nee to be tagged in XML tables, if you are working with more than hundreds/thousands of cells, be careful in content tagging. adding/removing columns/rows would really affect the structure of the XML and if it need to extract/export the content the structure of XML will not be correct. It is better to avoid XML tables in case of adding/removing columns/rows.

  • Importing and displaying DXF files into Labview

    Dear all,
    Building an application for motion control, I want to import a DXF file into labview to be used as a template for the motion. For verification I would also need to display it. I cannot use ActiveX properly bcse I develop on Mac....
    If you have any idea or experience on how I might do this, I will be glad to hear from you !
    Thanks in advance !
    Regards,

    To display (not parse) DXF files and other CAD file formats (PRT, SLDASM, SLDDRW, SLDPRT) I've been using an ActiveX container with the EModelViewControl object from the free SolidWorks eDrawings. Use the OpenDoc method to display the file in the container (see attached snippet).

  • AudioBook Import and "Part of a Gapless Album" and "Part of a Compilation"

    Do these options need to be checked (on) for audio books? I have checked Remember playback and Skip when shuffling, but not sure about the gapless album option. If they are not on, Will I have to start each new disk segment manually or will it play automatically, anyway?
    I want to upload the audio books to a Shuffle, which uses voice notification and don't want to have to click my way through trying to find a track.

    Okay, I have an update that may enlighten you. I've discovered playback in iTunes 7.7 does indeed work, but only if you play the first track from the start, or forward five seconds or so from the end. I was forwarding with less than five seconds left on the first track, so there was a gap before the second track started. So, if I listen to track one from the beginning, or forward it with about five seconds remaining, track two plays without any gaps - seamless!
    Maybe Apple ain't so bad after all
    I've also tried this on an older version of iTunes installed on my laptop so it's definitely not an issue with 7.7
    Hope this helps anyone remotely interested
    Cheers,
    Dash

  • My iPhoto 9.1.5 has gone batty.  Won't import and KEEP imports.

    I have TWO iMac 20's dual core.  They are identical and have mostly the same software.  Both have the latest iPhoto running on v 9.1.5. All of a sudden, my wife's iMac will not let iPhoto import and/or save photos in albums.
    She imports a group of photos, edits them, and places them in a new album, just as she have been doing for years. Then she quits iPhoto. When she returns, the last photos and it's album are GONE.  She imports the same photos from her desktop, edits them again, and places them in a NEW album.  When she returns to iPhoto, the latest photos AND the allbum are gone again.The program doesn't retin any new input.
    They are not in the photo section, or events section or albums. Where do they go?
    She has started the mac up from the Start up Disk and run Disk Utilities. Nothing appeared wrong.
    She has re-installed iLife with no changes occuring. Same problems.
    There are also blank frames interspered throughout the albums where she has deleted photos.
    What else can we do to get this problem solved? My computer works fine.  Hers works fine except for these iPhoto problems.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    The database is corrupted.
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    Just copy the entire /Musci/iTunes/ folder from old computer to /Music/ on new computer.
    The libraries will be identical (date added, ratings, artwork, etc.).
    You can do this easily over the network.

  • Importing a text file and displaying it

    Ok, my goal is to import a text file which i have done. I want to import it into a 2D array. There are 26 rows and 2 columns. Basically just a translator program. This is what i have to load the text file into java. But i am having trouble displaying the array with the data loaded into it. any ideas?
    public static void loadData(String a[][])
         throws java.io.IOException
         String file = "C:\\print.txt";
         String inLine;
         int row;
         FileReader fr = new FileReader(file);
         BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(fr);
         for (row = 0; row<=26;row++)
              a[row][0] = br.readLine();
              a[row][1] = br.readLine();
         br.close();
         System.out.println(a[row][0]);
         }

    my goal for this program is to have a user enter a phrase to be translated. I have the text file that i am loading into java that has the english word and then the translated word. I want to load that into the 2D array and display it. Then use a stringtokenizer for the translate part. But the problem i have right now is trying to display the data that was loaded into the array. any ideas?

  • Premiere CC support Closed Captions with mpeg2, mpg, ts import and export embedded

    Using a side-car file is not an option. This question is about embedded closed caption files.
    Will Adobe Premiere Creative Cloud support the import of closed captioned data from already captioned mpg, ts, mpeg2 video files, and will it support the export of mpg, ts, mpeg2 video with closed captions embedded? If they are adding this feature, do you know when? At least a rough estimate?
    I create content that broadcasts ON DEMAND for major cable television providers and currently we are working with Mac Caption/ Caption Maker and Manzanita to individually caption each video. We need the ability to take the finalized captioned content and occasionally cut sections out and replace with other finalized captioned content. We wanted to do this without needing to RE-Caption every video after we export from Premiere, as that will add many additional hours of work per video.
    Researching online I found that CC supports the import and export of embedded QuickTime closed captioned files. Our provider's standards are mpg/ts. One youtube video I found said that Adobe was adding mpeg2/ts support for closed captioning but I can not find any official word on the subject.
    I appreciate any and all help/information on the subject.
