Any ideas as to when Adobe will ship/update the CR 8.3 filters so they actually work? All I get now is a distorted grey scale image.

Clem is telling you to click on the View menu, move the pointer down to the item "Metadata," & from its choices make sure "Show Titles" is selected. Do this, then make sure you are in a view in the main window that shows one or more videos (or whatever) that you want to title. Click once on one of them, & if the separate Info window is not open, open that (on the Windows menu or command + i as a keyboard shortcut). In the Info window the top line will be "Add a Title."
Click once on that & type your title.
This works for any item, video or photo.

When i use view as list in finder and open a folder with many files i cant right click with mouse without selecting or highlighting a file....i just want to right click to paste an item or create a new folder...what can i do?

Thx for that im gonna try it....but is there a way to do it without using toolbar or cmd-c...? i mean using only the mouse?why does it have to highlight the file even though i click a bit next to it....?using icon view i can right click next to the folder and i wont have a problem but with list view that i prefer using it will highlight the whole row.....and i dont find free space to right click cause i got many files

Is it possible to import and display/plot (Google Earth) KVM files as overlays in Mac OS 10.9 Maps application?
Here is the particular application: (note I haven't gotten the code to compile yet -- seems to be several differently named environment variables in Mac unix than in Linux that are making the compile blow up -- but that's another issue) there is a freeware application that can do radio path loss prediction and plot path loss contours on a map. It has an option to output the data as KML files which can be imported into Google Earth, in order to display the path loss contours on Google Earth maps. I guess you could liken it to displaying overlays of GIS-like data in Google Earth. I would like to know if there is a mechanism to facilitate importing KML data files to overlay (preferably in a translucent fasion so that you could see the underlying map) onto Mac OS 10.9 Maps?

While the commerce side of it has little to do with the KML files, per se, the API for the layer data should allow for any type of overlay.
Also, the patent was filed Dec 19, 2013. There was a related patent filed in 2012. Not sure what it is about.

Import and Integrate 2 or more dmp file to be One database

I have some problem with my database oracle
I have application which running in some place in our city and in center office
Then, i want to improve our application which we need to integrate all of our database from some places in our city with database in our center office.
Now i have dump file from our center office and branch office in other city, i called it :
- db_bandung.dmp, db_jakarta.dmp (from branch office)
- db_center.dmp (from center office)
Then how i can import and integrate some database above in one database ?

you cannot use jsp tags inside uix xml pages.
you can, however, use uix jsp tags inside jsp pages.

Import and Open File options freeze up

When I click any Import option (Word, HTM, merge XPJ), the browser window does not open to allow me to select files. This happens on ALL import options.
The RoboHelp screen freezes up and I get an error sound when I click any other option. This requires me to press ESC in order to continue.
The same error occurs when I use the Open file option from the RoboHelp started. If I use Windows Explorer to browse to the project, I can open it. If I click Open file, I get the same screen freeze-up and no browser.
I am working via VPN. The Import works fine when I'm connected to the enterprise server in the office.
Is there an option or setting I can select to enable the Open file, Import > Word, Import > HTM or merge options via VPN? I've tried several different log-in options and reviewed by Windows file set-up and security. I'm totally stuck.
I am using Office 2010 and RoboHelp 10; our office uses Subversion, but the files are checked out properly.
As I said, I can import from the office when connected to the network.
Has anyone experienced this before?

Maybe it's that the window is in an area that can't be displayed!
Try this. When the window does not appear, press and hold the Windows logo key, then press perhaps the left arrow key a couple of times. See if the window is maybe hidden and pops into view.

How to import and open files in fcpx?

the files i was able to import from my hard drive (from p2 off panasonic hvx 200 camcorder) open in fcpx in bad quality (they are fuzzy), so i cannot edit them. what shall i do?

We use P2 all the time, and recently sold an HVX-200, shooting with an HPX-170 and 7D now. We've never had image quality issues with P2.
Be sure you're going to the Import Camera Archive method to import P2 clips. If they are fuzzy, they are fuzzy, FCP X doesn't change the image quality. Remember that the tiny LCD on those P2 cameras don't really show enough detail to judge stuff like detailed image quality.
Import the clips into FCP X, they'll become ProRes clips. Open those into QuickTime Player, and if it's fuzzy there, then that's how they were shot. If they are clear there, check the Playback Quality setting in FCP X's preferences.

How can I import and edit Divx/Xvid codec .avi files?

Recently I changed of computer, I had Premiere CS3 in Windows and now I have CS4 in Mac. The problem is that in windows I could edit divx and xvid files, but now, when I try to import any divx/xvid file premiere has an error saying "UNSOPPORTED COMPRESSION IN FILE".
I have installed divx and xvid codecs on the Mac and I can watch those videos too, but Premiere doesn't accept them.

You might want to take a look at the file closely, and then decide if you wish to edit it. Know, that if you go to DVD, or any compressed format/CODEC, after the edit, there will be another quality hit.
There are CODEC's that are basically used to play a file, and then those that play, plus allow editing. DivX and Xvid, are in the former group. There could be some editors that will edit DivX, but I do not know of them. PrPro cannot effectively use the DivX CODEC to edit. Some have gotten very lucky, once the CODEC is installed, but usually one looses either the Video, or the Audio. In the cases, where it worked, OOS issues were almost always present.

Having problems importing and viewing any kind of video file in iTunes 7

I just cannot seem to be able to do this. I have tried dragging and dropping files into iTues and importing files and whole folders of videos but nothing happens. Do video files have to be Quicktime format to be viewed in iTunes and if so does Quicktime Pro have a tool that converts other file formats to be viewed in Quicktime?
I would be really grateful if anyone can help with this.

Itunes doesn´t import and play PCM 5.1 audio files bounced by Logic Pro X

Hello Evebody!
I use to make many surround mix in logic pro X, and it bounces a PCM 5.1 surround files (.wav)
How I need to organize and Play this mix the itunes should be the best software to do it, however
Itunes don´t reconize this .wav file when I try to drag on its list. The preview by space bar plays the
surround very well the QuickTime as well but Itunes do not accept this kind of file.
If someone knows how to help me with this issue please let me know. I read that itunes accept DTS 5.1 formats
but I want play only the audio file not a movie track.

**UPDATE** This work-around did work for me as well, and you're right Fool Of God, makes NO sense at all. The M4A file is 83 MB while the MP3 is only 63. So it has to be a glitch with importing MP3's of any size. Seems that 50MB is the limit. Thanks again, you saved my day!

I have
*Uninstalled and reinstalled both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 Service Pack
* Verified any existing .sdf is deleted
*Verified directory that .sdf is supposed to be written to is writable (I do see the .opensdf when it tries to create the sdf)
*Ran a repair of visual studio
*Uninstalled completely VS and Sql Server then reinstalled it.
None of this fixes the problem for me? Please help.

Hi,
I have solved the issue as below:
This error was started when I install a software which I have made myself and it uses sql server compact edition 3.5.
I saw when I manually replaced the sql related files from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v3.5" with the files which my software setup had "version 3.5.5386.0" then the error started. And if copy back the latest version 3.5.8080.0
then it disappear. So use latest sql files in your software too.
My software was replacing the the latest files with older version.

Opening existing photographs or .jpg files

When I try and open some of my .jpg files, photoshop wants to create a new file. Its New file window opens. I can open and view these files in a different photo editor. I am not sure whats going on. Can someone please help me??

It's just named MG7234.jpg . As to the wrong extension, no as I mentioned. I can open it with another photo viewer / editor and it shows up fine.
Some viewers are tolerant of files that have the wrong extension. Photoshop isn't, though usually it will just generate an error message that the input file parser couldn't deal with the file.
Is this a file right out of your camera? Or has it been edited and resaved?

No. Not at that level anyway. You'd have to be talking about a file in excess of 32767 pixels on a side to get into worrisome territory with PS7.
What version of Windows are you running Photoshop 7.0 on anyway?
