Importing bb address book to Windows Live Mail

I've just got a new blackberry curve 8900. It runs v4.6.1.310.
I can't seem to import my BB address book into my Windows Live Mail.
Some assistance would be greatly appreciated

Hello,
Not knowing how you are making the attempt, it's difficult to comment on why it's not working for you. Therefore, I can only offer what I believe should be the proper process.
KB11194 How to import contacts from an CSV file to the BlackBerry device
That KB discusses the use of the Import/Export tool. You should be able to use it to export your contacts from your BB to an Ascii or CSV file. From that point on, it will be a matter of what Windows Live can do to import the information.
Unless...were you looking for synchronization? That might be something completely different.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Import the address book from entourage to .mail?

Does anyone know how to import the address book from entourage?
I have had major problems with entourage - and I have decided to use .mail.
I have managed to get the email accounts transfered, but I can't figure out how to get the address book.
This is about 15 years of acquiring address, so, it would be a major thing to manually do this, not to mention that I can't find an address book in .mail
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Thanks - I moved the addresses, it wouldn't let me move the groups, but at least I have the major addresses.
One thing that would make .mail better is to be able to do a search on it for an old email that you now need. I hope that comes out with the new osx software.
    Thank you so much Alberto.

  • No compatibility with WIndows Live Mail?

Why is only Outlook allowed? I will not pay to use Outlook Express. Windows Live Mail is a free mail service by Microsoft. It should be compatibile!!!

Using iPhone 3GS I am able to sync contacts from the phone to Windows 7 contact list, and then to import that contact list into Windows Live Mail 2011.
I had to call Apple tech support for help to do it. They had to get a senior level tech support person to help me through it but he did and it most definitely is possible. If you lose a hard drive but your entire address book is on your iPhone you can upload that entire address book to iCloud using iTunes sync ( you will want senior tech support help for this) and then they can assist you to download it off the cloud and onto your  Windows 7 PC contact list. You can then open WLM2011 and import the contact list from the Windows 7 contact list. There is an import button for addresses. You will have to find it or get Apple support to give you hints on where to find it. Some of their people are very Windows 7 savvy and know how to work WLive Mail 2011.

  • Windows Live Mail - How to Set it Up

I've been trying to set up Windows Live Mail to display emails received by my BT Mail account.
None of the detailed instructions on the Internet correspond to the Wndows Live Mail screens that appear during the setting up process.
In addition to the above problem, Windows Live Mail asks for ingoing and outgoing details. I've been using imap.btinternet.com for ingoing, port 993 and smtp.btinternet.com for outgoing, port 465, all gleaned from BT on the internet (although I've lost track of where that all came from during my hours of searching).
At the end of the hit-and-miss set up attempt, the user screen in Windows Live Mail (which looks a lot like the old Outlook Express screen) displays my email address in the left column, along with some folder names that were there before I started setting up, but it won't display the folder names corresponding to my BT email address and it won't display any emails. Basically, my actions have only worked to the extent that my email address is displayed, but that's all.
Can anyone please give a detailed, step-by-step description of exactly what needs to be done from absolute scratch, such that a three year old with no computer knowledge could complete it successfully.
Thank you if you can help.

Many thanks for both replies and the links in the second reply.
I've digested the first recommended link and carefully followed the second recommended link, following the further sub-link therein for 'Windows Live Mail'.
As per my original post, there are differences between the recommended link screens and the screens that appear in the version of Windows Live Mail I've downloaded from Microsoft and installed.
    Thus:
    (1) - 'login user name' in the recommended link appears as 'login ID if different from email address' in the Windows Live Mail software. The recommended link completes that entry as 'example.user', which is meaningless. Is that my BT email address, without the '.com' extension? Then again, applying straightforward logic to the instruction, since my BT login ID is my email address, then the entry should be blank, should it not? Therefore, I've left the entry blank. If that is incorrect, what should I enter, please?
    (2) - Continuing completion of the entries from top to bottom, I eventually come to the 'outgoing server information' entry, most particularly the port number. I've entered '465' as the outgoing server information port number. Continuing further, when I subsequently tick the box against 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)', the port number entered earlier is altered (without any other action by me) to 25. I can go back and change it back to 465, which is what I've done. Is that correct, or should I allowthe software to impose 25?
    (3) - I then discover that the 'NEXT' button is greyed out. I therefore can't select 'Next', so, having completed the entries in the window, I'm currently stuck there.
Any help would be gratefully received, with thanks.

  • Windows Live mail - Imported sent messages are incorrectly displaying destination address

I imported Windows live mail messages from XP to 8.1... everything is ok except for the fact that the "Sent" messages are listed as sent to "the owners address" which is really the "source" address for all these old sent messages....Client
needs these back to how they were on the XP machine... This is a result of importing using the import tool method from the file menu, and the same result after I did it manually by dragging old files into the new "Windows live mail" sub-directory
(sent folder).... I think its a setting or something I need to change so I can either redo it....

  • How can I import address books from Thunderbird to Mail?

I had to use Thunderbird for all my Mail, because I cannot import about 10 different e-mail address lists with a total of about 300
addresses (contacts) into the Mail application nor into the Contacts Application.  Every other e-mail application, and every server
    supports imports like this.
Apple appears to have no solution either.  On Apple Support site for Mail and Contacts, it says "Support temporarily not available"
and said so for weeks.  I tried to import into Contacts, using Thunderbird address book files converted to ..Idif  format and Contacts
imported them import without any fuzz.  The folders appeared in Contacts  as sub-folder the same name I had in the export files.
After the import I quit both Mail and Contacts and restarted my MacbookAir, it runs on OS 10.8.5., Mail is version 6.6.
I opened up Mail and the new sub-folders were listed in its Address Book window,  However when I clicked ao any of them, they
would not open.    I opened the Contacts application, and the folders were still there but when I tried to open the they were empty.
Is there a way to import those addresses, so they will show up?

Thanks for trying to help but .mbox is used for mailboxes, not address lists (Contacts).
I understand that Apple Mail and Contacts use .csv files for their lists, and I was able to
import my first Contact List using that type of File, but then was only table to get the name
the content of one List imported.
Last thing I tried, I used my Webmail Server which can import all address books (Contacts) and
export them across all sorts of different e-mail applications (they list about 10 different types)
and yes, the only missing is Apple Mail.
Looks like I am stuck with having to use Thunderbird, because I Mail will not import my
    Contacts.

  • There is no option to import e-mail from Windows Live Mail, *.eml files.

I have all the *.eml files exported to a folder and just need to install.
What software addresses importing Windows Live Mail, *.eml files

You can drag the eml files from their folder and drop them in a TB folder; for this purpose, create a subfolder of Local Folders as the destination.
The eml files can also be imported using [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ ImportExportTools].

  • Do you copyemail from a PC running windows live mail? I have attempted to use Thunderbird and was successful in converting the live mail files to Mbox format but when I tried to import these files to the Mac only one message from each file was shown.

I am having a problem trying to migrate some old email messages from a PC running Windows live mail.
I downloaded Thunderbird to the PC and imported the email messages and folders into Thunderbird and was able to create Mbox files for all the folders and messages. I  copied these files to a usb stick and then tried to export the folders and messages to my iMac running Lion. It appeared  to copy the folders to the Mac but only one message per folder was placed on the computer. Does anyone have any ideas on how I should proceed to copy these email messages over? Thanks.

  • Clicking on an e-mail address will NOT open Windows Live Mail which is already the default mail program which is already set as the default mail program

Clicking on an e-mail address will NOT open Windows Live Mail. Windows Live mail is already set as my default e-mail program.

Sorry you're having this problem. I think it was previously reported only by Windows XP users.
When you reinstall, were you making Firefox your default browser? Some users have reported that ''not'' making Firefox the default browser was an effective workaround.
However, you may have success with this approach, suggested by a user in another thread, which appears to more thoroughly update the Windows registry:
    # Open Adobe Reader / Acrobat
    # Edit->Preferences
    # In the Categories column click 'General'
    # Near the bottom of the page click the button marked 'Select Default PDF Handler'
    # In the dialog, select 'Adobe Reader XI' (or Adobe Acrobat, as the case may be) and click 'Apply'
    # A Windows Configuration screen will appear. Allow it to do its stuff (takes a few minutes), then restart your computer when prompted.
Does that resolve the issue for you?
