The problem is we are following the instructions in the readme.txt in order to import the business objects in SAP through 'tp' command but it is giving the error message as
Warning: unknown parameter SAPSID in parameter file (line 1).
Warning: unknown parameter SAPSYSTEM in parameter file (line 2).
Warning: unknown parameter SAPSID in parameter file (line 1).

hi
Do u have any relavant SAP system running in your company? if so, you will definitely have a SYS-ID and a SYSTEM-NAME in your system. i guess this error shouldn't pop after that.

Arun.

  • Unable to import Business Object in DQE

I've some prob with "importing business Objects" in SAP Enterprise Portal
    I've EP6.0 SP16 installed.
While importing the Business Object from "BW" System
I expand the BW Node but alas! dont get any BO in it..
It shows a message "Loading...." and hangs..
I've read some of the discussion Forum on SDN...
I've given the DQE Admin UserID and Password correctly.
Also I've done the User Mapping for BW System and gave the same UserID and Password as given in DQE in the "Personalize" section
I've tested the "BW" Connection using the option "Connection Test".
    It gives "DQE Connection Succeeded'.
Please let me know where i'm wrong..
    Thanks..

First thing dear Actually you are using the wrong term it is not exactly import it is EXPORT the existing BC4J component in Jdev.
Just run the export command it will automatically create the package in the Home directory.
Create a new JWS and Project and add related PG or Region there.[[Which you have exported]]

  • Optimum approach to architect BI solution in Business Object and SAP BI

Hi Expects , I as long as my experience going in delivering BI solution in Business Object and SAP BI We have option to connect to SAP BI via Building BO Universe on SAP BI cube or BEX Query . Now take a example we have 1000s of BEX queries in production. So Should I architect the solution recommending creation of 1000s of BO Universe. Which I donu2019t feel fusible option. You may reply me back saying create BO Universe on SAP BI Cube/Multiprovider, which will reduce no of universe to be created . But at the same time couple of questions comes in my mind u20131. Will I be able to leverage SAP BIA (SAP Business Intelligence Accelerator) to get best performance . 2. As of now BIA dose not accelerate queries build on Multiprovider ??? I believe When I Build Universe on BEX Query It will leverage BIA , But Not sure what will happen if I build BO Universe on Cube. Can we collectedly arrive at Optimum approach to architect Bi solution in Business Object and SAP BI ?? Comments are welcomed Regards Ashutosh D

    Ashuthosh...
You might want to have a look at Pioneer for another option for your architecture.

  • Business Objects and SAP BI Integrated Planning

    Hi,
Not too sure if this is in the correct forum...but I have question.
Is there a way to use the integrated planning functionality with a Business Objects Front end tool? As I understand BEx will at some stage will not be supported...so I guess there must be a tool. If so which one?
    Thanks,
    Leo

    Hi Leo,
The Business Objects << SAP Solutions Integration Kit >> enables Web Intelligence, Yoyager, and Crystal reporting on the following SAP sources:
    1. SAP BW   (Infoset, BW Query, BW MDX and ODS)
    2. SAP R3 / mySAP ERP  (transparent tables, pool tables, cluster tables, views, ABAP functions and ABAP data clusters)
& Also web portal integration to:
    3. SAP Enterprise Portal  (SAP's Knowledge Management - Repository Framework Interface, iViews etc)
So..  if you can consolidate your planning data into a cube datatarget, you might be in with a chance!
    I hope this helps.

  • Business Object on SAP Web Application server.

    Experts,
Can Business Objects be installed on SAP Web Application Server?
    Any Help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Yashu Raj

    Matt,
    Thanks for your input.
I found this information on SDN
Can Business Object Enterprise Web Tier be deployed on SAP NetWeaver system with usage type AS Java?"Yes, this is supported for Java 1.4 (NW 7.0), see http://support.businessobjects.com/documentation/supported_platforms/default.asp
However, the BOE Web Tier is not shipped with SAP NetWeaver, but can be deployed on an SAP NetWeaver system with usage type AS Java at customer side.
SAP is evaluating if we could ship the Busines Object Enterprise Web Tier with SAP NetWeaver in the future but that cannot be confirmed yet.
Still, in this scenario, the Busines Object Enterprise backend server would need to be installed as a separate server."
Can the Busines Object Enterprise backend server be deployed on an SAP NetWeaver system with usage type AS Java?
"No, as this is not a J2EE application, but a mix of Java and C++.
SAP is evaluating if the Busines Object Enterprise backend server could be shipped as a ""Standalone engine"" (as it is the case for BIA and Livecache
Can the whole or at least relevant parts of the whole Busines Object Enterprise be deployed to the NetWeaver J2EE server, so that distinct scenarios for Busines Object applications run without the need to install a separate Busines Object Enterprise backend server?
This scenario is currently planned for the next generation Analysis Client (Project: Pioneer) and evaluated for the Java based Crystal Version.
I am trying to understand the difference between BOE Web Tier and Busines Object Enterprise backend server....can you throw some light on it if you can.
I am a SAP BI consultant and one of my customers have this question on BOBJ. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Business Objects on SAP R3 or BW data..

    Hello to all.
I am looking for an architecture proposal for my company. Our company has SAP R3 source system set up. They also purchased BW licenses but havent done anything with them yet. We are looking to get into Business Objects
My question is: would it be better to bring information into BW and run Webi off of a BEX query?
Or is it a good idea to run Webi direcly off Infoprovider or ODS?
Or do we just create a universe directly on SAP R/3 tables ?
We do have license for SAP integration kit. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Puneet

Please post this query to the Business Objects Enterprise Administration forum:

  • Using business objects in SAP SRM Content

There is an integration scanarion (MM->SRM) inside SAP SRM SERVER 5.0 SCV. There is a mapping between IDOC outbound interface and PurchaseOrder inbound interface.
But how PurchaseOrder is inserted into SAP SRM? Why there is no  PurchaseOrder -> IDOC Mapping.
Is it a good practice to have additional layer of interfaces, for example (IDOC->PurchaseOrder->JDBC_XML instead of IDOC->JDBC_XML)  ?

as far as i know, SRM is working with proxies. so for the purchase order interface in the XI content a (inbound) proxy should exist within SRM, inserting the data into the according tables.
your second question is referring to what is called a "canonical data model". in general it's not a bad idea, but it depends on the integration strategy of each company if it is used and within XI content from SAP it is definitely not used
    best regards

    Hi Folks,
I am planning to learn BO, i need clarification is both normal BO and SAP BO are same or SAP's BO is different from what we have old BO
Please any one suggest me on this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ramakrishna Kamurthy

    hi,
BO and SAP BO are both the same....recently the SAP took the BO and it is now the property of SAP....also in the future the BO is used in SAP BI for reporting purposes. But you need licensing for SAP BO.
    hope it helps.

  • SAP Business Object Methodology

    Hi Experts,
I'd like to know which are the methodologies to implement SAP Business Object, excluding SAP BW and includin SAP BW. I know for SAP the ASAP methodology is used, but I don´t know for SAP BO.

Hi leonel, that's good. But once again, you need to indentify the following first...
    1. Who are the target audience (i.e. the end-users)?
    2. Who are going to develop the reports using those tools? Is it centralized (by BI developers or IT developers) or self-service (by the end-users themselves)?
    3. What skill set do you have in-house? Do they know know how to use those tools? Do they need training?
    4. Where are the data sources? Are you going to build a reporting data mart? Do you have the in-house resources to do so?
    5. Do you have the in-house resources to build the semantic layer (i.e. the universe which is the heart-and-soul of BusinessObjects)?
These are just the initial questions. More will come up when you get deeper into the process. Not until you can answer all these questions, you cannot proceed. I also would like to emphasize that, while you can have a general guideline, there is really no cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all implementation plan. It varies from company to company. You need to sit down with all the stakeholders to come up with a good plan. And once again, you should consider bringing in hire-gun to help you out. It is very important to do it right at the beginning.
