Once in a captivate II project, how do you import slides from
another captivate II project?

I do it as follows:
Click File > Import/Export > Import Slides/Objects from
other Adobe Captivate Projects..., then navigate to and select the
desired project.

Importing Ms Powerpoint Slides into a Project.

I'm using Robohelp 7
I've created a manual in Ms Powerpoint containing 500 slides. It contains text, tables & Images. Is there any way to upload these slides into a project in Robohelp HTML.
I tried converting Powerpoint slides to XML format but then I lost the formatting and tables were converted to images.

If you're trying to insert a file into a Word document, your best bet is to check the Word online Help. (What you describe sounds like a function of Word, not of Acrobat). I did a quick search and came up with this: Add a PDF to a document - Word. But I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.

How do I import old photos into new iPhoto library?

I have a new macbook pro running iphoto 11. I am trying to import my photos onto the new computer from my old computer, running iphoto 8. I mounted the old computer as a hard disk, but when I go to import the photos into new iphoto library on the new computer, the old iphoto library is "grayed" out under the users/pictures/iphoto location.
How do I transfer the photos?

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

I cannot import my files into my project

Importing work into new project

Just started to use motion on a job..... pretty impressive.... even with the basic plugns....
Its is gonna be a 15 min instructional video for snowboard maintenence with graphic inserts for recaps - closeups etc
Basically I started doing some graphic tests which turned into finished graphics.
I am going to edit the video this weekend and hopefully can just send that cut straight to motion to add graphics and do transitions to and from the video sections.
How do I use the projects that I have already made to apply them to the new motion project I will make with the video. You cant seem to import a project to another project as you can do in shake - is there a way to copy and paste between projects?

All really depends on what you're trying to do...
If you want to take gfx you made and bring them to a *new project then Save As (new project - name it whatever you want)
If you want to take gfx and bring them into an already-created project then copy/paste from Layers Tab as mentioned.
Template is if you have animation but stuff like lower third title, video changes, etc. like a title sequence that has the same animations but character titles and videos are different.
Remember: Motion manual has lots of information on these topics.

Importing .htm files into RoboHelp project

In my project in RoboHelp, when I go to File > Import > HTML File… to add a .htm file to my project, it locks up on me instead of providing a directory listing allowing me to select files to add to my project. The only way to get out of it is to go to the Task Manager and killing the process.

Your use of "The Vault" would seem to most certainly describe some form of a Source Control system. Source Control systems offer a combination between a Librarian and a Traffic Cop. Typically you log into these systems with a user ID and a password. That way the system knows who you are.
Typically with these systems the data resides on a coroporate network. And also typically you will have a "working folder" on your hard drive where the files exist. When everything is checked into the Source Control system, the files on your hard drive are flagged as "Read Only".
When you need to work with a file, you perform a process of checking out. The Source Control system then changes the Read Only status of the file on your hard drive to Read/Write. But it also makes a note of the date/time stamp. If the file stored in Source Control is newer than the counterpart on your hard drive, it copies the newer file to your hard drive before allowing you to make changes.
I'd begin with a simple sanity check. Create a totally separate and new project. Add a topic or three. Add an image. Generate. Do things work okay? If not, you have some form of issue with RoboHelp that needs to be resolved before you attempt to troubleshoot what is happening with your project in Source Control.
Perhaps try copying the content from Source control to a different folder and see if you are then able to make edits.
Hopefully something here either helped directly or sparked a thought that does.

Importing Map Files into a Project

Hello,
The programmers at my job create map files, and when map
files are sent to me, they're sent in a format that includes hex
values (e.g.: 0x1177E). I've noticed map files that were imported
in other help projects have this format:
#define ID_Size 1001
Out of curiousity, do map files have to be in the above
format before importing them into a help project, or can RoboHelp
perform a conversion to the above format once map files are
imported?
Since I receive map files from programmers, do they need to
convert the map files to the above format before sending them to
me?
I found something in the Knowledge Base Guided Search on
this, but I want to know if anyone knows of a new process that may
be in the latest version (X5) of RoboHelp.

and how they appear in one of the map files given to me by a
programmer:
HID_SELECTION 0x10005
HID_SNAPS_CANCEL 0x10006
HID_TOOLBARS_PRINT 0x10007
HID_T_FITTING_MANIFOLD 0x11AB2
I wonder, according to what's stated in the Help for
RoboHelp, if the map ID should appear like this before I import the
map file into a project:
#define HID_SELECTION 0x10005
or:
#define HID_SELECTION 65541
Does the "#define" have to be in front of the map ID and map
number before the import takes place?

Re-importing word document into existing project

2. I imported a Word (Windows XP) doc to create my robohelp
project.
I am new to RoboHelp, so please bear with me...
I had imported a word document into a project for HTML Help.
I had mapped some IDs to create context sensitive help to work with
our application. When the word doc is updated and I re-import it,
the topics are duplicated in the TOC. (I normally get updates of
this document from another department and we need to convert it to
HMTL help for our application).
How do I fix this or prevent this from happening? (Other than
delete the old project, create a new project, and import updated
word document since I would have to remap all the IDs again.)

Sorry, I have to disagree with your estimate, for the main
reason that all those reviewers will be manipulating the Word
document with their own formatting quirks, which will only serve to
corrupt the doc file and make its repeated importation increasingly
problematic.
Remember, you're looking to convert a binary file with tons
of macros into HTML code, essentially a flat text file. I suspect
that remapping the IDs will end up being the least of your problems
as you go further into repeated review cycles.

After Effects CC 2014 problem: Image from frame from the last Premiere CC-After Effects link permanently burned into new project compositions.

One frame from one of the clips I sent from Premiere to After Effects through "replace with After Effects composition" was permanently burned in After Effects and now it appears in every new composition of every new project I create as the background of such composition.
For example, I sent from Premiere a clip of a building to After Effects for color correction with Finesse, and warp stabilization and then after rendering, finishing, and closing all the applications, now, every time I open After Effects for any other project, whether already-created or brand-new, every existing or newly created composition (in a Mac Command N) you see the image of the building as the background of the composition. If you create a new composition, while it remains empty of any layers, you see the image of the building. If you have an already-created composition with layers, when you turn off all the eyes of the layers, you would expect to see black (nothing) in the composition window (if that's the color you assigned to be as the background of the comp), but instead you see the building. If you change the color of the comp's background in Composition Settings, you still see the building as the background. If you render such empty composition (no layers) you render out the image of the building, not black. I tried clicking everywhere and going through the preferences, and even uninstalling the application and re-installing it, but it seems to be permanently burned in into every comp's background.
Please, any ideas of what's going on and how to get rid of it?

Hi,
I've never used that option, but I know that is normally used to do customization... If you have "import for customization" checked, it will only let you edit what's been set to customizable...

Importing Keynote slides into Pages

I'm new to a Mac. I'm doing a copy and paste of Keynote slides into a Pages document. The quality of the slide image is very poor when printed. I've done this many times before in Windows (with PPT and Word) and the quality is very high. I thought it might be the slide template I chose but then tried several others and the quality is still poor. Anybody have any suggestions?

Why not check what it is you are getting when you copy and paste?
Is the entire slide being rasterised to a bitmap?
What resolution is the original slide and is it being changed when you copy and paste.
More to the point is how are you printing the final Pages document?
If you are going to .pdf file first and there is transparency, reflections or shadows then that will be rasterised to a low 72dpi thanks to Apple's bad settings in OSX's ColorSync filters.
If the Keynote images look fine in Pages even when you zoom in on them, then the problem very likely is the ColorSync filters.

Final Cut Pro X won't import media or create new projects?

I have tried restarting my computer, updating softwares, and deleting layouts etc. I was using FCPX today, but after I deleted all my projects and files from the program (like I do when I want to clean it up), it showed "create a new project" and "Import Media" or something along those lines. When I click on them (or try from other routes) they either do nothing or work a little and then do nothing, but never actually compeletly work. Please help!

1. Ensure that FCP X is selected.
2. Click Trash
The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP X.
