Importing/ causing changes to document size

I have been finding that when I have been importing my retouched JPEG folder into LR it is changing the document size to change to something much smaller. Why is this happening? And how may I fix it so it won't change the size?
Thanks
Andrea

Honestly, there is no point in examining document size.
Your photo, before import was a certain number of pixels, let's say for example 3000x2000. After import, it will be the same number of pixels, 3000x2000. Not a single pixel has been discarded or added.

Could you provide an example procedure to display the document size? We also want to display the item size in MBytes within a content area.

  • Is there any way to change the document size from scene to scene?

I'm building a portfolio site, but I need the document size to be different from each scene.  I'd rather not create a separate swf/html file for each page since that would disrupt the transition between scenes (not to mention all the wok I went through to get the dropdown menus working).
For instance, the "home" scene is structured for 1200x670 px, but the portfolio scene labeled "published" needs to be at 1200x1500px.
Is there any way to change the document size from scene to scene?  OR; If, for instance, I made the universal document size 1200x1500 for the entire flash file, is there a script that would restrict the "home" scene to only show the first 670 pixels?

    not in flash alone.
you may be able to do what you want using javascript in your html document and using the externalinterface class to communicate between your actionscript the embedding html javascript.

  • How to change Default document size for CC Library Graphics (InDesign)

    Good morning --
I have just discovered the amazing uses of the CC Library setup in InDesign and would love to be able to use it as a tool to collaborate template galleries amongst coworkers.
I work in an industry that offers many different templates for our Marketing pieces available to the sales team. What we have in place right now is about 50+ different templates in their own packaged files. Now, this isn't all that difficult to maneuver around, but the CC Library has made it so I can "drag and drop" templates into place. This drag & drop feature is easy enough for me to grasp, and with the proper training it should be with the rest of the team (should being the keyword). However, in some cases if you double-click on Library graphic it opens the file in it's own editable file with a custom document size of 8.5x11 Portrait (which I imagine to be the internal InDesign preset).
My questions therefore are when I double click on the library "Graphics" can the document size be anything other than 8.5x11? Can each Graphic have it's own document preset?
    - If I open a file that is set for landscape, all of the "Graphic" falls off of the spread.
    - Some "eblasts" are much longer than 8.5x11 (sometimes as much as 8.5x20), thus knocking some of the "Graphics" into that weird space area.
Please let me know if I am not being a clear enough.
    Thank you!
    Steve

@Steve – you are totally clear what you are doing and what you like to do.
But I fear an automatic setting that is creating the page size according to an asset's size does not exist right now.
I can change the size of a new document beforehand, if no document is open and create a new size in the document's properties dialog with the keyboard shortcut alt + cmd + p (in my German InDesign on Mac OSX 10.7.5). But you have to know in advance what size that should be.
Example: If I chose A3 instead of A4 (my default) when no document is open and double click an asset in a CC Library the asset will be placed in a one page document sized A3.

  • Why does jpg export change my document size?

This is a minor annoyance I noticed after I upgraded to CS6.
This is the correct size of my InDesign document...
So why do the dimensions change a fraction of an inch when I export my ID document as a jpg?
    (from Photoshop)

Well you can't have half a decimal pixel.
    Like - 6685.2 pixels
So it needs to round it somehow.
How is it if you start an InDesign document using Web instead of Print in the File>New Document
    Then open that in Photoshop?

  • Pixel dimensions & document size

Why do the pixel dimensions change the document size when the "resample image

Because that's exactly what "resample image" means.

Probably because your document is not 8x10 aspect ratio to begin with. If the photo is not 8x10 aspect ratio, then resize will not get you there (unless you want to distort your photo). You must first crop your image to 8x10 aspect ratio, and then if necessary resize.

  • Document Size, Trim Size, Image Size

I have InDesign CS6 and I cannot figure out how to change the document size, trim size, and image size on a documnet I have been working on. (It is a 52 page document if that makes a difference).
    Thank you!!

file - document set up - and you can change the size and set the bleeds, as far as the image size, you will have to resize them on each page as far as I know.

  • Document sizes vs. imported image sizes

I have to export images and text from InDesign to Pages. The InDesign document is set at 64po 85p4 which is roughly 8.5 x 11.00 inches.
I have my Pages doc set to 8.5 x 11.00 and my plan was to import the iInDesign pages as images and place on the Pages document so when I add text and images I can go by the images , follow?
I figured that once I saved and hit Choose in Pages and import each image of each page from InDesign those would be the exact size of the document size in Pages 8.5 x 11.00 but it is not. If I manually change the imported images size to that It is way too big.
So I also made an image in Photoshop  @ 8.5 x 11.00 and tried to import tp Pages, same thing happened so I need to know how I can export images that are 8.5 x 11.00  into a Pages document which is the same size.
    Anyone
    I hope I'm clear.

Ctrl-Click the layer thumbnail in the Layers panel to load the layer's opaque pixels as a selection. Look at the Info panel to see the selection size.
That will show where the layer has pixels not necessary the size and the info will show the canvas size. Free Transform is more likely to show the layers bounds.  Photoshop supports layer of any size. Layers in a document can be larger then smaller the and equal to canvas size a layer can be partially over the canvas and even completely off canvas.
The web does not support layered image file formats and Photoshop ships with a plug-in "Fit Image" that can fit any image into an area for the web.  It can downsize|upsize image to fit within an area and maintain the documents canvas aspect ratio.  So you need not worry about layers all you need to to decide the area size you want to use on web pages and fit the your images to that area size.

  • How do you can change the page size of a pdf in MAC?  I have multiple pdf documents of different sizes that I want to combine.

Help.  How do I change the page size of a pdf in MAC?  I have multiple pdf documents in varying sizes I would like to combine and print.

There's no real need to do that. A PDF can have pages of different sizes.

  • How do I change the font size of a document when I PRINT?

How to I change the font size of a document when I print it?

To specifically and fully answer your question, no, you absolutely cannot change the “font size” as a function of print.
First of all, there isn't a single “font size” associated with a PDF file (and we assume you are referring to a PDF file since this is an Acrobat forum).
Secondly, PDF is a final form file format meaning that the content is static in terms of location, size, etc. on the page. To change the point size of any particular text, you really need to go back to the source document and make the changes there.

  • How can I change the page size of a scanned PDF document?

How can I change the page size of a scanned PDF document?
I scanned a 50-page document with an HP 5610xi All-In-One using the software that comes with it: HP Scan Pro. Though the physical document has standard 8.5" x 11" pages, the PDF resulting from scanning has page size set to 35.42 × 48.67 inches (according to Preview's "Tools > Inspector". I want to resize the pages to 8.5" x 11". Shouldn't Preview be able to do that with "Tools > Adjust Size..."? When I try, the menu option is grey so I can't select it.
    I'm using Preview Version 4.2.

Thanks for the insight; that explains why it's the wrong size. I selected 300dpi scanning (which is the default, actually), but HP Scan Pro evidently created a PDF with 72dpi indicated. I want it fixed because I want to distribute the file to other people and have them able to print or display it without problems.
I still don't know why Preview won't let me change it, but your question about whether I wanted to print it did lead me to find a workaround: "File > Print" and "Save as PDF..." saved it with the correct page size.
