Importing CD settings

When importing CDs, I noticed that my custom encoding settings are not taking effect. I have the settings to AAC 128kbps VBR, but for some reason, the songs that I am importing are still 128kbps, and not VBR like the rest of the songs I have in my library.
I have recently updated to the most recent version of iTunes, 7.6. It doesn't seem to seem to be saving my settings when I edit them. I even tried uninstalling and then reinstalling iTunes. Is there something I am not doing, or is it a bug?

Hello,
I try to reactivate the topic because I have the same problem. I code my music to AAC 192kbit/s with the box VBR checked. But when I look under the info tag of the newly coded files they just say ”AAC 192kbit/s”?!
Before I have noted that even music coded with the option VBR turned on has shown up as constant bit rate music under the info tag but then with VBR added at the end, ”AAC 192kbit/s (VBR)”
For some time late last year all music coded in VBR actually turned up as VBR with varying bit rate under the info tag. My 192kbit/s AACs were often slightly higher than that like 205, 211, 197 and so on. I have found the threads about the bug/change in Quicktime 7.3 that was resolved/changed back with Quicktime 7.4 but I still wonder: how do I see that my music is actually VBR in iTunes?
Cheers / Joacim

  • Failed to import publish settings file in Azure Toolkit for Eclipse with Java downloaded from Azure Management Portal

I tried to deploy the Hello World JSP application to Azure from Eclipse following the instructions at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/azure/hh690944%28VS.103%29.aspx. Got the following error when trying to import Publish Settings file downloaded from Azure
    Management portal:
Importing MyMSDN.publishsettings file failed. Reason: failed to parse file. Ensure publish settings version is 1.0.
Could someone help me solve this problem? Thanks.

    Hi huihuang,
It seems there is some issue with your publishsettings file, could you open this file and copy the content here? Or please have a look at this article:

  • Issue with importing effects settings from 3.0 to CS5.5

Several times I've attempted to import effects settings from 3.0 into 5.5 using the 5.5 Import>Application Settings function.  Each time it says that it is unable to do it because of some unknown error.  Is there another way to import the settings?  I'm in the middle of an album project in 3.0.1 and would like to try 5.5 with some of these existing sessions.  I've used the SuiteSpot studios Ses2Sesx program to translate the session.  It imports fine, but none of the effects or racks import.  I very much want to be able to do that.

    Hi Michael,
These effects are mostly external VSTs, but a few of them are native
(Parametric EQ).  The program will just not import the settings .xml
file or the vstmanager settings .xml.  The VSTs seemed to have been
found easily by the program.  I have not yet gone through them all to
see if they will pop up.
Another interesting thing - when I installed AACS5.5 I lost the ability
to open AA 3.0.1.  I had to reinstall 3.0.1 in order to be able to use it.
I'm not liking this program at all.  I don't like the interface, the
GUI, or the navigation through the program.

  • How to import Account settings to TB?

In the process of migrating from XP to Win 8, I have rediscovered a very old (ex dial up, payg) mailbox account which I want to start using again but have forgotten the password. The account is already set up in Outlook backup files and has the (encrypted) password.
The ISP (TalkTalk) cannot help with the password because it is an old dialup account with Tiscali and they do not have the records.
TB is already set up and configured for the current mail accounts.
Is there a way to import the .iaf into TB to add to the existing account?
If I set up a new (empty) profile and managed to import the settings from Outlook, can the profiles be merged?
Can Account settings be exported from TB for importing to the new profile?
    Thanks in advance

Thunderbird doesn't recognize .iaf files to my knowledge.
Assuming you're using Outlook Express you can use the following link to import your data from OE
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_from_Outlook_Express
If that doesn't work, then I'm afraid you can't transfer your settings over.
I would probably let someone else answer, who knows more about Thunderbird than I do.

  • Quick change of Import/Convert settings

Is there any other way to change import settings more quickly other than thru preferences? [I currently dislike going 3 levels down the preferences to change to AIFF or MP3 or modify the quality of the MP3.] Has anyone made a way to customize the control panel [where the volume slider is] to add one click buttons or are there key board short cuts that quickly switch the import convert settings or is there a way to customize the menu functions?
How about a quick visual of which setting your on?
Currently I'll click Advanced and see the import/convert setting, but in MP3, it does not say at what quality. Would be useful to me to just display this on the interface.

Is there any other way to change import settings more quickly other than thru preferences? - Sorry, but no except adding those scripts:

  • Import Sequence Settings instead of 'Match Sequence Settings'?

Hi, we have the following problem with Premiere Pro and Media Encoder (English CS5, German MacOS):
We film with Sony EX3 in Germany, so our media are always 1920x1080, 25fps, progressive, square pixels. We produce for streaming video, with differing resolutions and bandwith, but always 25fps, progressive, square pixels, H.264. Often we have to encode intermediate files for our Premiere/After Effects workflow (typically Quicktime Animation or MPEG2).
On export, Media Encoder defaults to Quicktime PAL DV (in CS4 it defaulted to Quicktime NTSC DV). As a result, we always have to enter the complete data: Codec, resolution, pixel aspect ratio, fps, field type, etc.
Now I heard of the "Match Sequence Settings" option in AME and already rejoiced. As it seems, too early. When checking that checkbox, everything becomes locked and cannot be adjusted. Even when sending it from Premiere to the queue in AME, I am not allowed to adjust the settings there. The "Settings" button is locked.
So all parameters, and even the Codec is locked in. As it seems, mostly MPEG I-Frame. But never H.264
This renders the function rather useless to us. Instead of "Match Sequence Settings" it would have been so much more useful to have an "Import Sequence Settings" option/function, with the ability to adjust them further.
Can this be achieved otherwise? Is there any hope that Adobe adds this option? What would I have to do to make that request (plea) noticed at Adobe?
    Kind regards,
    Andreas

Hi Jeff, thank you for the information.
It took a while, but then I realized that the preset you mention comes (only) with a few selected formats:
    - MPEG2-DVD
    - MPEG2-Blu-ray
    - FLV/F4V
    - H.264 Blu-ray
However, it does not come along with, e.g. Quicktime, MPEG2, H.264 which are the Formats we usually work with.
    1. Any chance with Quicktime?
    2. Are there restrictions when chosing MPEG2-DVD or H.264 Blu-ray instead of MPEG or H.264?
    Regards,
    Andreas

  • Import Global settings

I want to import Global settings from R/3 to BW. How to perform this activity???
Please search the forum before posting a thread
Edited by: Pravender on Aug 27, 2010 8:19 PM

    Hi,
You can use the below approach:
RSA1 --> Source system --> Tranfer Global Settings --> Select the required thing which needs to be replicated like Currencies/Units/ Fiscal year variants cts... And use the Update tables option below which will update the required fields..
    or
To automatically bring the update in r/3 to bw you can schedule that 2 program in background job to run periodically. basicaly RSIMPCUST is just same with the 'transfer global setting', it uses the same program. RSIMPCURR is for update currency exchange rate. This will take care of the things automatically.
With this all the necessary units, currencies and other values will update the tables in BW.
    Hope this helps..

  • Importing User settings from one CC user into another

    Hi There,
I want to import user settings from one account, then use those as a base to setup user setting for another. IE I want to use my settings from work [which I did not pay for] and use that as a starting point for my personal user account at my home office [which I did pay for].
I'm concerned about messing up my work settings + at home I'm on a laptop, not a 2 display tower.
Specificaly, its the custom keyboard, sequence and output, and loging colums/metadata display settings that I'd love not to have to setup from scratch, again.
Also, I have co workers who prefer my settings and I'd like to share these with them- but don't want them to be signed in as me, and messing me up accidentaly.
    Many Thanks
    David

OK so this does not work. I'm running CC, on OSX 10.8.3.
For those that don't know, in order to reveal the library folder in OSX 10.7+, you need to either enter this into terminal:
    Permanent Reveal:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library/
    Permanent Hide:
    chflags hidden ~/Library
Or hold down option key + finder/go, for temporary reveal.
So after doing this, and coying over the directories Jax mentioned [+ '7.0' folders, as I'm in CC], I'm still not getting the keyboard mappings, just the defaults.
I've just synced with my work account, and brought up another issue: My scratch disks and media paths are all different on my home office, and I don't want to have to reset those everytime I switch from one location to another.
If I could get what Jax sudgested to work, that would be an exelent work arround for this situation. Otherwise its a feature request for managing syncing between multiple accounts...
Thanks again Jax for tyring to help

  • Importing Firefox Settings

I was wondering how I Could import the settings and bookmarks from the Firefox I was using on Windows to the one I'm using on Arch. I know where the bookmarks are stored on Windows but not on Linux.

Bookmarks are easy to import between operating systems just by using organize bookmarks->import and backup and then saving as .json (Backup...). When you want to replace your current bookmarks with the ones saved in a file, just use restore->choose file...
Edit: vimperator was too eager to post my unfinished reply

  • How do I import IE settings from a different drive letter on the same computer?

I have switched to a new computer since my old motherboard went flaky. I took my old C drive and made it the secondary hard drive since I wasn't sure if win2k would boot properly from the old installation. I have IE installs on both C and D drives and i want to import my settings from the D drive. Firefox doesn't seem to allow setting a path when using the import function. Any suggestions?

    Hi,
You need to log into his account and look, under the Movies folder, for iMovie Events. Inside, you'll find folders with the events names and still further will be the movie itself. Copy each to an external media or use the Shared folder so both accounts can reference them.
Another option would be to attach an external HD and via iMovie (Events Library pane) move them to the new disk. You would preserve the thumbnails and analysis already performed on the videos.
    Good luck!

  • Import Mail settings from Mac to iPhone?

    Hi folks,
I've had my iPhone for a couple of months now, but only recently have I discovered that I couldn't send email... It must have happened recently, though, because I remember sending email to various contacts a few weeks ago because I was away from home and in a hurry to send those emails. In any case, I can't send any email anymore, from either one of the four email accounts I have set in Mail on my iPhone : every time I try, I get an error message stating my password is wrong, even though I'm absolutely sure it isn't. So I've been thinking, since I have the same accounts set in my MacBook Pro's Mail (and incidentally in Thunderbird), is it possible to import those settings on my iPhone via iTunes?

No, but you can try to set it up at this link, http://www.apple.com/support/macosx/mailassistant/

  • Import Publish Settings Failing

    Hi there,
I'm running into an error that seems to be unique, and undocumented. I'm importing the publish settings file for Azure, in order to start publishing a project that my team is migrating from another Azure subscription.
When I go to the Publish Web wizard, and hit import publish settings, and then add the publish settings file that I got from here:
    https://manage.windowsazure.com/publishsettings/Index?client=vs&SchemaVersion=1.0
I keep getting the following error:
    Microsoft Visual Studio
Invalid website publish settings file to import publish profile.
    OK
Does anyone know what this error means? Moreover, does anyone know how I get around it?

    Hi,
The error information "Invalid website publish settings file to import publish profile" means there was some issue with the publish setting file, from my experience, if you want to publish the application to azure website, I suggest you download
the publish setting from azure manage portal, such as the following screenshot.

  • Importing Security Settings

I clicked on import security settings and out of curiosity I tried importing a blank .txt file.  I received a failed message.  Did I hurt or messed up Adobe Reader X's security by trying this?
What does import security settings do?

Oh dear, you shouldn't have done that...
But seriously, you could not have done any damage. It's for quickly establishing various security settings, usually form a previously exported security settings file. It is typically something and IT support person would do to easily configure the various security-related settings for a user.

    1) Do my render settings need to match exactly or as close to my import/source settings?
If so should my render/export settings look like this?:
    AVCHD
    File type: H.264 Blu-Ray

    Frame Rate: 29.97

Sequence setting should match source settings.
Output settings can be what ever you want them to be.
