Importing Collada (.dae) problem

Hi I have a simple ( but extremely annoying ) problem. Im trying to get a .dae into ibooks author.
When I export a model out of Sketchup or Photoshop as .dae the camera looks perfect on screen but when it comes out its upside down and back to front etc. I can rotate the object and change the output but it just seems so unexact...
How do I set the camera/object so that how I see the model on the screen is exactly the orientation it comes out?

Which version plugin are you using?

Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select the iTunes folder.

Import from catalog problems

Cannot import from catalog, LR quits and I get about 2 or 3 photos imported.
Adobe was no help, they had no idea why.
Have tried to "import from Cat" twice. Moving two different catalogs into my main desktop catalog. Both did not work.
All three catalogs ( two from laptop and my main LR cat) work fine and I can import photos no problem.
Would like to import all the changes of photos that I have made with these two catalogs that I did on my laptop. (Both cats are on an external hard drive).
Thoughts anyone?
I am having some issues with my video card. Screen right now is a bit pink. This would be the fourth video card I will need on this Mac Pro. Would this be the cause?

It might help. Exporting a catalog sometimes cures corruption in the original catalog. Try exporting into a new catalog and then importing the new one on your desktop.
Never heard of the last thing you mentioned. Can you describe more?
Lightroom has a preferences file, which sometimes gets corrupt and can cause all kinds of weard behaviour. You can delete (or rename away) the preferences file, and LR will build a fresh one when started. If you rename it, you will still have it if you decide you want it back.
To rename the preferences file, rename the file
"[username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Lightroom3.plist"
to something like
"[username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Lightroom3.plist.old"
while LR is closed and restart LR.

I have the same problem and apple needs to fix this - but in the mean time you can manually select the vertical photos then "import - import selected" and you can get your verticals. We need a better fix. THIS IS A BUG!

And Quick Look knows says it is "Digital Asset Exchange"...

It depends on the DAE file. Just because the DAE file adheres to all the standards, it doesn't mean the Apple knows how to draw it. Conversely, Apple can render some DAE files that do not completely adhere to the standard.
We actually used Quick Look/Preview to test our iPhone app NaviCAD (http://www.navicad.com) as a comparison when rendering KMZ files from the Google 3D Warehouse (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse), so I can confidently say that Apple knows how to render most of these files (you have to rename the KMZ file to a ZIP file and extract the DAE file and its textures).
And, as expected, Apple can render the canonical duck file, and some of other files from the COLLADA model bank (http://www.collada.org/owl/).

Cameras not importing using DAE

I'm exporting from 3ds Max 2015 as DAE and importing into PS CS6.
Camera's come in as locked folders and I am unable to select the view.
I found this information on the subject....
The cam_render shows up as a folder because the file contains this "instance_camera url="#"
So there is *no* camera to tie the instance to in the file and it comes in as a group. Nothing can be done in Photoshop as there is no camera.
Whatever exported the collada file needs to write a camera.

Copying Ordering Address in Cart when importing from MDM: Problem

There is are two enhancements in my scenario. My problem is in part 2 but to understand part 1 is required to mention.
Part1: Configuring new partner function in SPRO for ECC ordering address vendor. As a result one separate section named "Ordering Address" got appeared in shopping cart screen.-->This one Is running fine
Part 2: When I will import MDM items by "Add to Shopping cart" at the time of creation of shopping cart, all fields including Ordering Address for the corresponding main vendor "Source of supply tab) will be populated automatically.
For this I had to write the following code-logic in the SC_CHANGE method of BADI BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI.

I copied the partner_guid and p_guid of main vendor(lets say partner func = 00000019) to get reflect into the shopping cart "Ordering Address" tab While appending.
I tested shopping cart getting populated with desire result and going into "ordered" state.
But when I check the Purchase Order (which has just got generated as a result of shopping cart creation) I found one hyperlink named "SEVERAL" for "ODERING ADDRESS" instead of any value.
Also I checked the line item and saw not all line items has desired ordering address under "PARTNER" tab.
Can any body help me out why this auto generated PO has problem with Ordering Address where as I can see the Shopping Cart got created properly with desired OA value for every line item.
Is this due to Partner_GUI or P_GUID value which I am manipulating within BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI badi.

Photoshop cs4 and import to iphoto problem

Hi to all,
I would appreciate any help on this problem:
I process a raw file through camera raw 5.1 in photoshop cs4 and then save it as a jpeg.
I then try to import the jpeg file to iphoto, but iphoto says the file is unreadable and can't import it.
In photoshop cs3 I never encountered this problem.
The only way I can solve it is if i open the jpeg file in preview and save it again as jpeg. then i am able to import the new jpeg.
Any ideas how to solve this?

That's because you're saving it inside the iPhoto Library package and trying to import from there. You must save all RAW edited files to the desktop or outside of the iPhoto Library package. iPhoto will not import any file located inside it's library package.
If you use CS4 to edit jpgs from within iPhoto the following may be of help to you:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

all are in .zip file formats only.
i created 2 new schams in production db like impmaster for master repository and impwork for work repository
then next
i created one new login name example produtionmastr
1)after that i imported master repository from import master repository winzard.
2)it imported sucess fully i got all technologies,physical servers,physical schems,logical schemas,agents,contexts also.
3)next i tried to import topology,logical topology and execution environment it takes time but nothing will be impoted. (my quwstion is what is the reason for we
again import topology logical topology again,when the time import master repository only we are getting all the things in topology.then what is use for this options.)
4)next think i created one work repository in topology manager with different id from development
5)i created login name for work repository and i login to designer.
6) i imported work repository from zip file using synonym insert mode. imported success.
7)i changed all the physical paths in physical data servers. every thing fine.

Ideally i would suggest when you are importing for the first time you can use the Import Master Repository wizard and from next time if any small changes has then import those individual ODI Object.
You don't have to repeats those individual import once the Master Repository Import is successful.
Reg Agent Error You can create an Agent manually in the your new Topology.
I believe you have upgraded from 10g to 11g . In that case all your Master Rep url and credentials might change and so the old odiparams might not work .Please update odiparams accordingly.

Looks like there is a difference (imported RFC in mapping does not show the work area WA)(so: mapping requires
<DATA>
    <item>test1</item>
but RFC generates

which hinders the mapping from moving the item lines into the destination file because in mapping the WA area cannot be linked as it is not recognized in mapping.
Any ideas are welcome!

My problem is related to Dirk's one in that I am using an RFC to send XML data from CRM to XI.
I am trying to send the following string:

However on XI the payload looks like this:

Importing from Eudora problems - html messages being displayed in plain text and problems with attachments

Hello,
I hope you can help me. I've imported all my emails from Eudora into Outlook 2010 but I have a couple of problems.
All emails that I've imported which had attachments with them have a notice on them saying the attachment has been blocked. I can always browse to the folder whereb my old attachments are stored, but this is still inconvenient.
Secondly, all my messages that I've sent in the past (html) are being displayed in plain text, which is making them difficult to read because of all the html tags being displayed.
Also with emails that I've sent in the past- there is no record of any attachments being sent with messages which I know had attachments with them.
Any ideas? I've trawled google and had no luck except finding programs that cost $70 that can import everything properly.

I just "upgraded" from Eudora to Outlook 2010 ...
and have 10 years worth of HTML formatted e-mail that now shows up as plain text with embedded html formatting ...
apparently it is a long-running problem that has roots in the way Eudora formats messages ...
Outlook and other e-mail clients all seems to have issues with importing and do not properly recognize HTML-formatted messages from Eudora ... very sad that I can no longer really "read" my old e-mail at this point ... :-(

Importing word file - problem in style capturing

Hi All,
I have a problem in importing the wordfile into Indesign CS3.
We have created all the Para & character styles in Indesign CS3.
The same style was created in Word also, we have a set of guys to do the pre-editing the input wordfile which we got from client.
We have applied all the character and para styles in Wordfile, which uses the same names in Indesign CS3.
When we import the wordfile into the Indesign CS3 all the para & character shows "+" marks and the style was not applied.
What will be the problem, why it is behaving like this, we have checked the "import options" while importing the word, but it fails.
Is anyone have these type of problem.
We need to know that how to solve this, since the reference part has lots of character style applied, we cannot clear the "+" manually in Indesign CS3 to solve.

From what I could tell from your post, Indesign is working as intended.

Yes. Clearing overrides does clear all non-styled formatting, which is
why I suggested using Find/Replace to find the good formatting before
you clear the bad formatting. Specifically, you mentioned wanting to
keep bold and italic. The other character-level formatting from Word
that you will probably want to keep is:
--Strikethrough
--Underline
--Superscript
--Subscript
--Small Caps
--All Caps
--Bold Ital
--Bold
--Ital
There may be other character-level unstyled formatting you want to keep.
This depends on what the author put into the file.
If you're getting the same kind of files all the time, you can develop a
routine for these Find/Replaces. You can save your Find/Replaces, use
GREP, even string all the Find/Replaces together in a script. What you
can't do is expect Indesign to know which unstyled formatting is "good"
and which formatting is "bad". Only you know what you want to keep and
what you want to throw away.

Importing Java class problem!

I have problem by Importing java class into form. When I select in Forms Builder from menu: Programs/Import Java Classes it returns error: PDE-UJI001 JVM not able to create!
Can someone know what I must do to fix that problem?

It is a shame because it, probably, contains no special 1.5 new instruction at all.
Maybe it would be possible to try replacing the current JDK/JRE of your <ORACLE_HOME>/jdk installation after a safe backup of course.
You probably have a very little chance that it works, and it also won't be supported.

I have a problem.I need to export the data and then import it inot another database.I used imp and exp file but it is not exp and imp data but exp and imp database structure,triggers,procedure etc but not data

When you export, it will list all of the table structures that you are exporting. You can limit some of the other information that it exports by setting parameters.
I assume that the database you want to import into already has all of the table structures and grants.
When you export, set the following parameters:
GRANTS=N
INDEXES=N
CONSTRAINTS=N
TRIGGERS=N
The default for exporting data is Y so you don't need to include that.
It will still export the table structures but you can ignore them on import.
Then on import, set the following parameters:
GRANTS=N
INDEXES=N
CONSTRAINTS=N
IGNORE=Y
The default for importing data is Y so you don't need to include that.
That will import data and not import table structures unless there is a new table in the database that you export from.
Another option that might help is to export by using a table list. This will eliminate the issue of export procedures.

Aperture import and desktop problem

My Aperture main screen had changed and can not be fully used, as some pictures are not vissible in the browser view. As well the picture if shown in full screen in the main screen is not shown properly - 1/4 on the right side is missing.
Today I realized, that the missing 1/4 of the working desk is impacting the import - the menu to put create new project and all the data of the picture is missing - so totally impossible to import new pictures.
Does any one know how to adjust the desk in Aperture and show/hide the importing dialogues?
help appreciated.

Hello Milo,
a similar problem occured recently, see this discussion.
The problem could be solved by removing the preferences file to the Desktop and restarting Aperture, for Aperture stores the layout of the main window in this file.
The preferences file is ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist
That file is in your User Library.
Quit Aperture, if it is running,
To reveal the hidden User Library in Lion, activate the Finder by clicking on the Desktop, then go to the main Finder menu at the top of the screen, and select the menu Go -> Go to Folder.
in Lion now hold down the alt-or-option key, and your User Library will appear in the Drop down menu. Select it to open in Finder. (in other MacOS you can access your User Library by opening your Home Folder from the Finder Sidebar).
Once your User Library is revealed in the Finder, navigate to the sub folder "Preferences" and scroll down the long list, until you find
com.apple.Aperture.plist
move it to the desktop.
Log off and log on again.
restart Aperture and see, if the fix worked.
