Importing Contacts and Calendar Data

Hi there
I use a 5G 80gb Ipod on my Windows Computer and various Ipod programs to try to import the Contacts and Calendar Data from Microsoft Outlook and then use the data contained on Ipod is there any way that I can do the same from BT Yahoo Mail, Email folders please as I don't use Microsoft Outlook. Many thanks for any information or help you can give me on this.

You'd have to think through this, but it seems like if you are using Outlook, and the items vanished from the Outlook client as well as the server,that you could re-populate Outlook using iTunes.

The contacts and calendar data on my iPod touch will not sync with my Mac

I have a 2nd generation ipod touch, and an iMac running iTunes 8.2.1.
I have been away from my mac for a few months and have entered a lot of contact and calendar info into my ipod touch.
Now, when I try to sync the contacts and calendar data on my ipod touch with my mac, the data will not sync to my mac.
Similarly, for the last couple months, the contact and calendar data on my ipod touch has not been able to sync with my mobileme account.
I cannot afford to lose the contact and calendar data on my ipod touch.
Can anyone kindly inform me how to fix this syncing problem without losing such data?

Movies are not stored in your iCloud account unless you add them in the theater feature of iMovie version 10.

Microsoft Exchange - saving contacts and calendar data

Hi all,
I have just joined a new company and I will be connecting my iPhone to their email network using Microsoft Exchange. However, I want to make sure I do not lose my existing contact and calendar data. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do? Currently, my contacts and calendar are synchronized with Outlook in my home computer.

As long as your contact and calendar data is synced to Outlook, you shouldn't lose anything as it will still be saved on your computer.
If you'd like to keep your personal contacts and calendars synced concurrently to your iPhone along with the companies, you could either move your contacts to their server or apply for a MobileMe account, which would keep your data separate: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/

IOS6 on iPhone 4s deleted contacts and calendar dates

I updated iOS6 on my iPhone 4s and it deleted all my contacts and calendar dates.
I have a 2008 Macbook Pro running 10.5.8 Leopard and iTunes 10.6
I plugged in my phone after realizing all my contacts and dates were deleted. iTunes popped up and said that my iPhone was not compatible with it and I needed to download iTunes 10.6.3 or later.
Since I am running 10.5.8 Leopard, I can't download iTunes 10.7 (which I think is the only thing I can download currently off of Apple).
Does anyone have a solution for me on how to get my contacts and dates back?

I too have had everything wiped off my phone when updating to iOS 6. Never had this problem before and was not clearly informed that the phone may get wiped (sure, there was an essay to read but, like most people, just clicked confirm). Every other update I've had has gone smoothly without a problem so presumed this would be the same.
Why was there not a clear warning stated before going ahead with the upgrade that your phone may get wiped and you will need to back it up just incase?

How do I get my contact and calendar data brought back from iCloud and reinstated in Outlook on my PC?

I just accepted Apple's kind invitation to synchronize my Outlook contacts and calendar with their iCloud storage. I foolishly accepted the invitation only to discover that iCloud didn't synchronize my data but stole it without any warning as to what it was going to do. Does anyone know how I can recover my data and put it back onto Outlook on my PC? I need to be able to access it when I'm offline, which I can't do if it's all hidden away in the iCloud. Besides that, any new contacts that I add don't automatically get added to iCloud. The whole arrangement makes a mockery of the concept of "synchronization".

Your data is in Outlook, in the iCloud account instead of the local (Personal Folders) account.

Can I import contacts and calendar into iCloud?

Here's my situation: I have a ton of contacts and calendar items on an old Powerbook G4. It's old enough that I can't upgrade to OSX Lion, so therefore I can't use it to sync with iCloud. But I am getting an iPhone 4s, and want to figure out how I can get those contacts and calendars on the phone, hopefully using iCloud as the intermediary.
Is there a way in iCloud to do a one-time manual import of a contacts or calendar file? I could then synch the new 4s with iCloud. I'm eventually going to get a new desktop, but in the meantime need to use the 4s as a standalone device.

You do not export anything.
Instead, sync the content from Outlook to your device via iTunes.
Try reading the manual, it's included on the device or here.

I just got iPod Nano and try to put my contacts and schedule from my outlook. I am using Window XP. When I drag all contacts to iPod folder, the file extension was automatically changed to .msg and iPod didn't recognize it. How can I copy all of my contacts and schedule to iPod Nano.

I dont know why it wouldnt work. When I change the setting to sync Contacts from Outlook it does it just fine. I cant test anything right now, I had to send my Nano back to Apple for replacement. Mine was a 2gb in a 4gb body; I guess there are several of us in that situation. Apple quality??? I have sent 5 different iPods back to Apple due to various software, batter, and now memory problems. If they werent so great I would be upset.

Exporting Contact and Calendar Data

Help, My son son recently upgraded and passed me his 3G phone. He has asked if I can export his contacts information to something like a csv file. I have no idea how to do this (and neither has he) so can anyone help please.

My Calendar and Contact info was intact. All email archives were lost (no big deal since all are in the MacBook anyway) and my default ring tone was changed.
Otherwise, so far so good.
Suggestion: Look in iTunes in your PC and see if the contact info is there; if so, try a resync.

Contacts and calendar events disappearing and reappearing

I have three issues, two of which I think are related.
1.
My contacts disappear on my iPhone 3G. I am set up with MobileMe to auto sync and I don't know if that is getting screwed up somehow? The contact are on my Mac lap top when I go look (thank goodness), and I force a sync and they transfer to my phone fine. This has happened twice now. I have copied my contacts as vCards and saved that file in the downloads folder just in case they get lost on both my laptop and my iPhone - I also do a regular full laptop backup to my Time Machine - is there anything else I should be doing to back up my contact and calendar data?
2. (possibly related to 1.)
When I am looking at my iCal in the weekly view on my laptop, sometimes several of my appointments are not visible. It is only when I try to put an appointment in that is at the same time as the invisible ones that they suddenly reappear.
3. One of my contacts will not sync from my iPhone to my lap top? It used to be in both places but for some reason it is now only on my iPhone and even when I sync, it doesn't come into my laptop Address Book.

i am having what i think is a very similar problem in that my Exchange (you seem to use only mobileme) contacts partially disappear. i discover this when i check my sms message list and find that many messages show only the phone number when earlier the name was there. a check of the contacts list shows that some have disappeared.
i restarted the phone and checked immediately but it was still gone but after a few minutes they came back.
my theory is that something is going on with messy exchange server syncs with my iphone that could be causing the process to break midway but after a while the phone automatically syncs again.
this issue appears quite rarely for me but enough to be noticed and to be annoying.
