Importing contacts from aol into iCloud

I have imported contacts from AOL into iCloud. The nature of AOL's contacts results in many email addresses listed as "undefined." I culled through the undefineds either deleted the entry or added it to an existing entry. BUT NOW the "undefineds" are back! Am I missing a setting or is there a way to make sure the "undefineds" do not keep popping up?

I think the point of backups is to have your data available should you need it in a device crash, etc.
You can backup using your DM and then move the *.ipd file to your Media Card. Should you be travelling, and have a crisis, you can move that IPD file to any computer or laptop and do a restore.
I am not aware of a way to import your contacts from the Media Card, however.

Importing contacts from pst into iCloud using Outlook 2010

I am trying to import contacts from a PST file into iCloud by importing it with Outlook 2010's standard import tool. I have set up iCloud on my desktop and have a node in my Outlook 2010 Contacts menu for iCloud. There are about 2000 contacts in the PST, but the import completes with only 511 contacts every time. The pop-up message at the end says "some items cannot be copied. they were either moved or deleted, or access was denied."
How can I troubleshoot this? Or, is there an alternate way to bring these contacts into iCloud for use also in Outlook and my iPhone 4?

i'm not sure this is possible. as far as i know you can only get contacts onto the ipod from either outlook OR windows contacts (which i think is only available with vista.)
there is an app called funambol, which will allow you to sync your contacts to an internet server, your ipod, and your mobile phone, using wifi.

How can I import contacts from Outlook into iCloud

I would like to import all my business contacts from Outlook and Google into iCloud so they can be accessed easily from my iPhone 5 and iPad mini. Cannot find anything in the help section that explains how to do this.

i exported them from outlook into a folder on my pc, then tried to import with icloud on my pc but the error message appears.

You could simply turn off iCloud contacts sync on your iPhone in "Settings > iCloud > Contacts".

Thanks Winston for the added help. When I tried this, I received a data error, that I was not able to solve, and neither was Apple.
I solved my probem by logging into iCloud on my Mac, and turning off my account, and then turning on my friends account. I then imported the CSV file, with no problems, and then verified that the update records were showing on iCloud on a browser, and then I turned on my friends iPad and the new contacts synced just fine! I then remembered to turn off my friends iCloud account on my Mac and reconnect with my account!
So, everybody is happy now except apple - who are looking into the web iCloud contacts to see what is not working!

This action would be performed on your computer, not on your iPad. Once you transfer your contacts from AOL on your computer to your Windows contacts list, you would then sync them to your iPad via a Computer iTunes sync to your iPad. You might want to Google the following:

Now this seems silly to me but so far I am aware that you can only move contacts direct from SIM not from External SSD cards?
Is this actually possible if not... why?

ICloud Contacts on iPad are Not the Same as the local Contacts on my iPhone..how can i put all my Contacts from iPhone into iCloud?

I want to have all my local iPhone Contacts in the cloud to have them also on my iPad.
iCloud only saved 36 from 225 total Contacts. My IPhone Contacts are saved on the iPhone itself, but how can I Transfer them into the cloud?

Here's my situation: I have a ton of contacts and calendar items on an old Powerbook G4. It's old enough that I can't upgrade to OSX Lion, so therefore I can't use it to sync with iCloud. But I am getting an iPhone 4s, and want to figure out how I can get those contacts and calendars on the phone, hopefully using iCloud as the intermediary.
Is there a way in iCloud to do a one-time manual import of a contacts or calendar file? I could then synch the new 4s with iCloud. I'm eventually going to get a new desktop, but in the meantime need to use the 4s as a standalone device.

I'm helping a friend get to know her iPad and learn how to use it. All her email contacts are in a Eudora address book on her PC.
How can she import her Eudora address book contacts into her iPad? Or does she have to manually enter them?
