Importing content

I have been importing all my home movies over to a playable format for Itunes. I have found using Cucusoft Apple TV Video Converter was the easiest way for me to do this after trying everything else. I have been able to import successfully a dozen or so movies. So i continued going but now the last 6 movies, that i have converted the exact same way, will not load into Itunes. They are all the same filetype just like the others and those entered fine into Itunes 8.2. How do i figure out why these movies are failing to import? Itunes does not give me a log or anything. I have reconverted the movies several times and everytime it refuses to import. Please Help!!!

I really have no idea! I googled for that error message, though. There was suggestion to try playing that same movie in QuickTime on another windows user account. You might need to create another user. That will tell us if it's a problem in the account, or syste-wide.

It seems that '&' is used by XDK for a kind of special purpose.
Does anybody know how to handle the problem if I really want to import content with '&'?

The "&" character is part of the reserved word content.
Just like: <, &, >, ", ' to use these in an XML file you should
use:
<     <
     >“     "
‘     '
like: This is worth < $250K
will become: This is worth < $250K

Importing Content To LSO

Dear Expert/all,
This is my first time implementing SAP LSO i have a problem importing content (the content is in swf and scorm compliant), the portal is already setting by basis (I already can access lso via web for book, prebook,cancel) but I cannot start the course because the content is still empty.
Is there anyone/expert know how to do importing the content/ where I can place my content? I am looking in spro But still difficult to find.
I am really need help in here for the first time
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Verdo,
You need to following the following steps.
1. Have your Content Management Server (CMS) configured. This could be done by your Portal Consultant. Essentially, they create a folder under the KM component and provide the WebDAV link to you.
2. Once you have the link, mention it under the relevant SPRO nodes.
3. After that you could have your Authoring Environment set-up. It is just a desktop tool. Ask your BASIS guys to download the installer and forward it to you. The installation is fairly simple process.
4. After the AE is installed, import any SCORM compliance course. you could get some from the web.
5. After importing, use the Repository Explorer to connect to the CMS and have the content published.
6. After successfully publishing the content, create a new Course Type and have the published content attached to the course.
7. login to the portal and access the course.
I am assuming rest of your system component such as Content Player are already setup.
Please let me know if you require any further clarification/information.

Import Content into Forums (7.0)

I see that it is possible on Jive's website that it is possible to import content into Jive forums through xml.
I do not know of a way to do this with the forums available with SAP Portal.
Does anyone know if this is possible yet?
(What I am wanting to do is migrate content from a MS SharePoint discussion to SAP Forum.)

Error - Failed to import Content Inventory

Hello all,
I'm having an issue uploading a SCORM elesson created to our LMS, and I'm hoping that one of the wise people out there may be able to help me out.
The project setting used, are the same as I've previously had success using.
There is no object outside of the stage.
The naming of the file project is ver simeple... 2 letters.
There is no Quiz.
Whilst trying to upload the zipped file to our LMS, I get this error:
The upload of this document failed. Error discribtion:

(43073) Failed to import Content Inventory: IT - IT Work Processes Introduction
(43269) Invalid content. (*)ERROR: Failed to extract the manifest file from content package. Possible cause: The markup in XML document (manifest file) preceding the root element is not well-formed.'

No sorry. I only use the pdf version to send to people for reviews. When it comes to publishing it to the LMS (SABA), I zip it with Captivate (with no pdf). The zip file contains the HTML/SWF Files etc. included below is my normal package, unzipped.

you may ask - but the answer is allready given in my first post:
1st: I used TB for years now, on WIN, UBUNTU and the last 3 or 4 Years on MAC as well.
And as I wrote on my second post in here:
2nd: because TB has many features NOT that would be essential for working with MAC, iPhone, iPad etc. like it is thought. It starts by Adressbook Sync, continues on not automatical working sync of Lightning with iCal and goes on with many other issues like DL all mails another time, when the HDD is full once.
I know, that TB has some features, that are hard to miss afterwards. Once again: I used it for years now and I loved it. But its no more covering all aspects of what I need - privately and for business usage.
I would be soooooo happy, if anybody would post an answer and not again another question, why not using TB instead of Mail.... ;-)

Importing content when the titles are the same

I am trying to import content which spans several CDs. Unfortunately, the tracks on each CD have common names (i.e., CD 1 Track 1 - My Dog has Fleas; CD 2 Track 1 - My Dog has Fleas). Other than renaming the tracks, is there another way to import this content?

A single track will contain fields for the artist name, album name, title, track number and CD number. A multi-CD release will be given the CD number data - CD 1, CD 2, CD3 etc. Also, often the title of the CD itself will contain the CD number ie - Dirty Dog CD 1, Dirty Dog CD 2. Either way, iTunes will be able to tell that 'My Dog Has Fleas' on CD 1 is not the same as 'My Dog Has Fleas' on CD 3.
If you want to be able to tell which is which without looking at the CD # field, just make sure that the album title contains the CD number. Import the first CD. If the CD name doesn't contain that data just select all the songs from the CD, select Info, and then add the CD # to the CD name.

Need to undo set up after importing contents from old Macse

I just set up my new MB pro with OX X Mavericks. I choosed the option of "import contents from other mac" and brought my entire user identity and contents from my old MB air. But it created a whole new user identity in my new computer. I don't like it and want to undo it and start all set up again from the begining. Any ideas of how to do it. I have all my contentes backuped, so I'm not worried about that... By the way, I heard many times that it was not a good idea to start using a new Mac bringing all contents from your old one this way. Any comments to this?

You typed you migrated from your old partners PC - try using their password. It sounds like you've done what is in these articles, but maybe there will be something new.

If you can see the other computer in Finder, try drag and drop copying the files. Can you copy the files to a Flash drive or external hard drive and then download them?

ITunes importing content from another user's account

I have an iPod. My husband has an iPad and his own iTunes account, and we share the same computer. When I connect my iPod to my computer, it imports content from his iTunes account onto my iPod. I do not want this, because I do not have the space required for the content he will get. How can I fix it so my iTunes account will not sync my content and his content onto my iPod? Please respond with any helpful information. Also, I do not want his content to even show up in my library, as I do not think this should happen.

Export/import content area

Hi,
I'm trying to import/export the content area using the contexp.cmd and the contimp.cmd. When I run the import I receive the error '
WWUTL_API_SiteTransport.GetImportSites: Import table WWUTL_SBR_TX_SITES$ is empty
Rolling back transaction'
The first thing the export does is truncate this table so it is always going to be empty. Any ideas how to get round this??

The import truncates the table to remove any old data that might be left from previous export/ import.
Following this step, the Oracle Import utility imp is run. One reason why you are getting the error could be due to different versions of the 9iAS client utilities (which are 8.1.7 based in your case) and the database server. If the database server is 8.1.6 then you need to set the ORACLE_HOME to the database home prior to running the import. Once the import is complete you can reset the ORACLE HOME back to the 9iAS Home.

Any way to import content from AW7 packaged file to modify and repackage?

Hi, I am new to AW. Trying to take an existing aircraft systems training program and merge it with another training program that was written with AW5, which modules are not compatible with AW7. According to the help file, when packaged, the flowlines and icons used to design the program are removed and no longer accessible. Is there any way to import the content and redesign and tailor to my specific needs? Thanks.

Are you talking about packaged Authorware 5 files? Because it sounds like you are quoting info about packaged files...
The Authorware 7 authoring tool should be able to open and convert Authorware 5 source files. If all you have a repacked files there's not really anything you can do.

Export/import content from EP6 into NW04

We are upgrading from SRM3.0/EP6 SP2 (source) to SRM5.0/Portal NW2004s (target).
The only thing we need to preserve from the source portal are the users and roles. We plan to re-apply the business package for SRM 5.0 after the migration is completed. We are not using any Collaboration Rooms.
I know there is a migration path from EP6 SP2->EP6 SP9(NW04), followed by an upgrade from NW04->NW04s.
My question is:
- is it possible to export content from EP6SP2 and import it into NW04/MW04s? this will eliminate the complicated migration path from EP6 SP2 to NW04.

As long as you only need to transport PCD content, I would recommend using normal PCD transport (just did an upgrade from EP6 SP2 to NW04 SP13 and used normal PCD transport without any problems. Will do the same for another upgrade to NW04s). Only if you have KM content you are forced to use the migration tools.
I am not quite sure about users and role migration since I've only use LDAP as a user store (we manually repeated the AD group to portal role mapping since there were very few)

[Perm] TABLES: import contents into existing format

I'm creating about 20 tables that have the same complex formatting: row stroke widths, color of strokes, fills, etc. Would like to import the data (from Word tables originally created in excel) . Is there a way to import data without recreating each an every table I import into InDesign?
I suggested a "table style" to Adobe several months ago; that would be the ideal solution. What can I use now?

I have posted a script (it's actually in message 26 of the long topic on pasting unformatted text) that will import the clipboard contents into part of an existing table in such a way that the new contents retains the old formatting.
You can find the script here:
Populate Table From Clipboard along with a description of how to use it.
Basically, you:
1. Open your Excel worksheet
2. Copy and paste the range of cells you want to update to the clipboard
3. Switch to your InDesign document and click in the top left cell where you want the updated data to start.
4. Run the script.
The new data replaces the old using the formatting of the old (provided that you have used only paragraph styles to do that formatting: any use of character styles within the cells will be lost).

Paragraph borders in Word-imported content

TCS 4.0 -- Using Word 2007 with RH10.
I have a fair knowledge of importing FM to RH, but I am new to importing Word content into RH.
I have used paragraph borders for some styles in Word. For these styles, I have created RH equivalents and mapped appropriately. However, when I import the content into RH, even the paragraph borders defined in Word appear as is.

I can understand your thinking but on this occasion I do see Adobe's problem. You are converting a document formatted with Word code into an HTML format. To do that Rh has to tell Word to convert the document to HTML and that is done using Word's option to Save As and saving in HTML format. Rh is thus faced with the way that Word saves the document and the HTML Microsoft creates. Generally that is not squeaky clean HTML but Rh has to take what it is given.
Rubbish in = rubbish out.
Log it with Adobe but whether it is a Bug Report or a Feature Request is debateable.

50k limit on imported content

I'm trying to import pieces of another page into a JSP using the
Jakarta scrape tag. Works like a charm for anything under 50k but as
soon as the file size gets >50k none of the content is displayed.
It doesn't seem like a time-out, the blank page is displayed almost
immediately. Like the server just looked at the header and said "nope,
not doin it". Same behavior whether I deploy to Sun AppServer or
Tomcat.
I'm using Studio Creator and in the web app's web.xml, I have maxSize = -1.
I'd post code, but I suspect this is a server setting or OS (I'm
running XP Pro) limitation. Since I don't know which, and since I
encountered this in JSP, I figured it was appropriate to post here.
I've searched the groups and the web extensively but have found nothing
to help. Thanks in advance for any pointers you can offer!
