Importing/Converting Problem

When trying to import a CD into Itunes, I get an error message saying: "Error occurred while converting the file. You do not have the privileges to make changes."
I am wondering whether anyone has had this issue and what can be done to correct it. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

check if you have read & write permissions for your music folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so
the important part is to *apply to enclosed items* !

  • Canon Powershot S120 Adobe Lightroom RAW converter problem

    Have a MacBook running Yosemite. I am an underwater photographer so rely on using White Balance to get colour into my photos. Since upgrading Lightroom from 5.3 or 5.6 to 5.7 all my Canon S120 RAW files change colour after import and become a wishy washy green.  As one moves along the filmstrip, the Histogram shows calculating and all the photos lose their colour, as if the White Balance is being removed. My previous catalogue, same camera, Lightroom 5.3 or 5.6 photos import as they look on the camera. Have discussed with Canon and they think an Adobe Codec RAW converter problem. Do you have additional Codecs for Canon S120? Canon happy to discuss problem.  Their reference: 1-3374995525. Please help.

    If you look at the Tint slider with As Shot WB set, you’ll see it is maxed out at 150 for all three of your sample images.
    I think this means that LR’s DNG Profiles don’t have the range to entirely neutralize the WB so your images are left with the wrong WB and no way to fix it.
    Adobe profiles don’t do a good job in extreme lighting situations, especially with an overabundance of blue light which underwater pictures typically have.
    You can mess with the Calibration sliders a bit and get some of the colors to be more like the camera-JPGs have, but some colors will still be different.
    If you have an X-Rite color-checker, that you could photograph without getting it wet, then you could make a custom camera calibration profile for that specific lighting scenario and maybe it’d work, but maybe the profiles still can’t extend beyond a certain point.  I am also not sure how you’d keep the color-checker dry underwater.

    I am having problems importing some CDs into iTunes on a laptop with Windows 8. Most CDs import without problem. The ones I can't import can be imported into iTunes with Windows 7. Does anybody know why this problem is occurring?

    First-off, this seems to be a general problem with 10.4 (across all the operating systems of which I am aware).  Unfortunately, I cannot provide a permanent solution but, if you need a quick fix, this will (hopefully) work for you.
    For some inexplicable reason, iTunes no longer recognises standard Windows paths.  For example:
    Y:\Music\Buddy Holly\Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
    The end result is that it will import a playlist with no content.
    It will, however, recognise the equivalent Apple paths which look like this:
    file://localhost/Y:/Buddy Holly/Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
    It is possible to convert your existing playlists using a few basic replace commands in something like Notepad.  In my case, I made some code changes in my music manager and now generate two sets of playslists (one standard and one to accommodate iTunes).
    Forgive me foir stating the obvious but please remember to make sure that the disk / path containing your music is accessible when doing the import otherwise you will probably get a blank result.  Note that you can do a bulk import by selecting all the (revised) playlists and dragging them onto the iTunes sidebar.
    I am sorry that this is not a "clean" solution but it will work if you are in a bind.  The only alternative of which I am aware is to wait for Apple to fix the problem.

  • Importing/converting DVD to .mov file for FCP

    I had a friend give me a homemade DVD that I want to import/convert into a .mov file for editing in FCP. I've read the threads on MPEG Streamclip, but it asks to select the file(s) to import (vs one file). Not sure if I'm on the right track.
    Here's what I see on the DVD:
    http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s63/jtnacc/ishot-4.jpg
    Any help would be appreciated.
    John

    Hi Piero... Congrats man... your explanation is the best simple explanation of getting material off a DVD into a form where it can be editied in FCP.
    Just to make it clear to anyone else...
    1- go to http://www.squared5.com/ and download the FREE program MPEG STREAMCLIP.
    Install it in your applications folder. Start Mpeg Streamclip, and insert the DVD into your drive.
    2- Go to FILE > OPEN and use that to navigate to the DVD, look in the video_ts file and select the first .vob file of a series, e.g. VTS010.VOB; you'll be asked if you want to open all files of that stream, and you answer yes. You'd better also apply the command Edit/Remove Timecode Breaks before exporting.
    This takes a minute or three depending on how much material ois on the DVD.
    3 - Now go to the Mpeg Streamclip command line and select **Export to QuickTime** (NOT Export to DV)
    Use these settings :
    Compression: Apple DV-PAL (DV-PAL for UK/Europe, or Apple DV-DVCPRO/NTSC), Quality: 100%,
    fps: 25 for PAL or 29,97 for NTSC,
    Audio: uncompressed, Stereo, 48 KHz.
    AND hit go !
    Mpeg Streamclip will promt you to name the new file name and a location for saving.
    This can take a minute for every minute of material.. so is a slow process.
    I decided to use the "in" and "out" markers on Mpeg Streamclip to define smaller chunks of the DVD to convert at a time... rather than risk it running for 40 minutes and crashing (which it did first time). If you're ripping the DVD for editing purposes then this should not cause any problems.
    Once it's finished, go to the save location, and you should see a Quicktime movie with the name you gave it.
    You can now go into FCP and IMPORT this Qtime move and edit it.
    MARVELOUS
    Thanks again Piero - this has really helped me

  • Convert Problems/Solutions into Knowledge Articles

    Hi Experts,
    I am wroking on SAP CRM 7.0 SP06 and now we are planning to implement Knowledge Article functionality.
    I have done the all configuration settings and multilevel categorization, every thing working fine. Now I want to convert problems/solutions which already created in CRM and stored in SDB into knowledge article.
    Any one please guide me how can I convert existing problems/solutions into knowledge articles. Is there any report for this?
    Thanking you in anticipation.
    Regards,
    Babu.

    Hi Kevin,
    Well, I'm new on this and have only worked on CRM 6 & 7. I'll give you my advice regarding these CRM versions. I don't know if it is supported on CRM 5.
    IMG:
    CRM >> Enterprise Intelligence >> SAF >> Name and Configure KB
    You create and define you DB as you want: ACME INC
    CRM >> Enterprise Intelligence >> SAF >> Business Add-Ins >> BAdI: Knowledge Base
    Each knowledge base should have its own Add-In implementation. So you have to implement an Add-In based on Add-In definition CRM_SAF_KB_*: CRM_SAF_KB_ACME. You can follow IMG documentation.
    In my case, the add-in already existed, since Knowledge Article functionality is standard in 7.0. KB didn't exist, I don't know why. I just created it with the name assigned on the BAdI, compiled, and everything works fine now.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards.
    Pablo

  • Quick change of Import/Convert settings

    Is there any other way to change import settings more quickly other than thru preferences? [I currently dislike going 3 levels down the preferences to change to AIFF or MP3 or modify the quality of the MP3.] Has anyone made a way to customize the control panel [where the volume slider is] to add one click buttons or are there key board short cuts that quickly switch the import convert settings or is there a way to customize the menu functions?
    How about a quick visual of which setting your on?
    Currently I'll click Advanced and see the import/convert setting, but in MP3, it does not say at what quality. Would be useful to me to just display this on the interface.

    Is there any other way to change import settings more quickly other than thru preferences? - Sorry, but no except adding those scripts:

  • Importing tga problem

    I have several targa image sequences from a client. FCP (6.0.5) will import some but not others. The only difference I can find is that under "kind" in the get info window some are "tga image" and the others are "adobe photoshop targa file". The latter imports no problem, while the former give an error: "File Error 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown."
    Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or have run into this issue?
    FWIW, I checked the fils in photoshop and they all have the same modes. They also all have the same file sequence naming structure.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Actually forgot to explain that the error I mentioned above occurs when I try to import just 1 of the targa files individually. If I try to import a sequence the number of errors changes to match the number of targas in the sequence. Sorry about the miscommunication. For the record, there are no other files inside the sequence folder(s) - just the targas.
    Still haven't figured this out yet. Shake, Nuke, After Effects, Photoshop all open/import the files, but FCP will not.

  • Esx24 importing/converting quicktime files

    Is there a way to import/convert quicktime to soundfont or other esx24 compatible extensions to the sampler? any help most appreciated! i'm running logic pro 7

    You can convert soundfonts easy to EXS24-I may have misunderstood you but you create a folder in your USER's Logic/Library area. Drop your soundfonts in there and then Logic will access them. It is laid out pretty clear in the manual.
    If you want to make soundfonts there are a few editors for OS X but no conversion utility I know of. As far as QuickTime-it just has a little GM compatible sampler integrated...so GM compatability/Lib is all you'd need. The basic LP7 lib should cover the bulk of what you'd need but you'd have to put in a few hours getting things GM ready because there is no AFAIK GM set made public of the std LP7 library.

  • Very STRANGE problem when importing/converting from Word

    I've been trying to convert a form created in Word XP to PDF. When I use the "Convert to Adobe PDF" button or when I try to import the document into Adobe Designer, every line of the form, whether text box or form field, is overlaid with a copy of the screen banner (for example, the current banner as I type this is the Firefox logo followed by "Adobe Forums - Add Discussion - Mozilla Firefox"). I can't grab the banner image to delete it. At best, the image is barely translucent, so I can almost read the text that should be visible. At worst, the banner is so dark it completely obscures the other text.
    Right now, the form is completely unusable. It also can't be opened again, once it's closed. The Acrobat Pro 7 error message says that's either because it's not a supported file type (it's a PDF now) or because it's "damaged."
    Any ideas how I can either get rid of these images or keep them from showing up?

  • Adobe Media Converter problems...

    Problem #1 - seems when I'm trying to convert larger files, I instantly get the message in the timeline "Conforming file..." - this NEVER goes away.  However, 9 times out of 10, if I restart my machine and try again it will instantly start encoding without any issues - so obviously there was no need for any conforming in the first place.  What could be causing this and how do I fix it?
    Problem #2 - my file are 1920x1080.  If I convert them to f4v's without any resizing, and then play in a flash player at 640x360, the video is stretched and not as "high" as it should be, despite the 640x360 being a perfect aspect ratio to the 1920x1080.  If I do convert with resizing, then it looks fine, but I'd like to have a better quality when users switch to full screen if possible...
    What might I be doing wrong?  Thanks in advance...

    If the Audio is not in 32-bit, floating point form, with existing PEK files, then it DOES need to be conformed. I do not know of any camera that shoots 32-bit, floating point Audio, but might have missed one.
    In your Project's Scratch Disk folders do you have the CFA and PEK files already? If not, they need to be generated. If so, no Conforming should go on.
    Because of the size of the CFA's, I mentioned the free space on HDD's, as many have experienced Conforming issues, when they just did not have enough space. Cannot say that this is your issue, but is something to check.
    Also, the time to Conform the Audio will depend greatly on the Audio specs. and CODEC used, plus the Duration of the Clips, plus the speed of the computer.
    As a for instances, if one Imports a muxed MPEG w/ 12-bit 32KHz Audio (MPEG CODEC), it will take MUCH longer to Conform, than would a DV-AVI Type II with PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit Audio.
    With the former, one can expect to go to Starbucks, get a latte and then come back to find it completing, and with the latter, it will happen almost too quickly to even see the blue progress bar. Still, the Durations and the system will weigh heavily on those general timings.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Importing xsd problems

    I'm  using two xsd.
    The first one is like  a dictionory the second one form specific.
    In the form specific xsd  I use restriction from the dictionary
    for eg: dictionary.xsd is like this
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns="http://www.example.org/Base"

    <xs:element name="A" type="AType" />
    <xs:complexType name="AType">
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="title" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element name="name" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" />
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:schema>
    form.xsd is
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns="http://www.example.org/Restriction"

    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:restriction>
    </xs:complexContent>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:schema>
    when i import this into livecyle  I'm expecting to see only restricted elements but i see all the elements from dictionary.
    Here in this case I want to see in dataview only "name", but i see both "title" and "name"
    In my actual forms "dictionary xsd" is so big which makes my livecycle designe very slow.
    As a result i get this error message, if i remove some of the elements then livecycle can import.
    Can somebody help me please.

    EMF doesn't provide any tools for doing DTD to XML Schema conversion.
    The first error sounds like there are things with names that aren't well
    formed and the second sounds like references either to a namespace that
    isn't imported or that doesn't define the referenced name.

  • FM used to convert problem description to it_text ?

    Hi all,
    What is the FM or routine used to convert the problem description or notes we provide in WEBUI to it_text which is an importing parameter for ORDER_MAINTAIN FM?
    Thanks,
    Karthik

    I found one possible solution and a spot where you can put a break point and analyze the standard
    1- Possible solution: cl_crm_erms_converter=>convert_string_to_table
    2- Spot where you can place a breakpoint an analyze the standard: CL_CRM_TEXT_RUN_BTIL->IF_CRM_RUNTIME_BTIL~MAINTAIN_ATTRIBUTES
    Did you try to perform a reference search on the type table CRMT_TEXT_COMT you will find plenty of spots where is used and from here...analyze time
    Cheers!

  • JSF Drop Down Converter Problems

    I am having problems with JSF 1.1_01 (MyFaces 1.1.1).
    I have created page called page.jsp as follows:
    <h:selectOneMenu value="#{test.selectedDevice}" id="deviceTypeList" styleClass="dropdown">
    <f:selectItems value="#{test.deviceTypes}" />
    <ajax:support action="#{test.loadDevice}" event="onchange" reRender="t2,t3,t4,t5"/>
    </h:selectOneMenu>
    It is uses managed bean called TestBean.java:
    public class TestBean {
    public List getDeviceTypes(){
         logger.info(" *** In getDeviceTypes Backing Bean*** ");
         List<SelectItem> models = new ArrayList<SelectItem>();
         List<SelectItem> deviceTypes = new ArrayList<SelectItem>();
    // Gets Data from Hibernate Query . It returns List of Device Types
         models = deviceManager.getDeviceTypes();
         logger.info(" *** DeviceType List Size=*** "+models.size());
         for (Iterator it = models.iterator(); it.hasNext();) {
              System.out.println("Inside For Loop Iterator size="+models.size());
              Object[] row = (Object[]) it.next();
         System.out.println("ID: " + row[0]); // prints data
         System.out.println("Name: " + row[1]); //prints data
    // Below line results in error : does not have a Converter
         deviceTypes.add(new SelectItem(row[0],row[1]+""));
              return deviceTypes;
    During page rendering, page.jsp throws following exception:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Value is no String and component _id0:deviceTypeList does not have a Converter
    Is this bug with MyFaces 1.1.1 or I have made something wrong?
    I am a newbie & didnt know much about Converters hence read some examples from the web saying to have getObject() & getString methods . So i added below Class but not sure how to align with page.jsp page.
    public class DeviceTypeConverter implements Converter{
         protected final Log logger = LogFactory.getLog(getClass());
         public Object getAsObject(FacesContext facesContext, UIComponent uiComponent, String s) throws ConverterException {
                   DeviceDao dao = new DeviceDao();
                   return dao.getdeviceTypes().(Long.decode(s));
                   public String getAsString(FacesContext facesContext, UIComponent
                   uiComponent, Object o) throws ConverterException {
                   if(o!= null)
                   logger.debug(o.toString());
                   try {
                   if((o!= null) && (o instanceof DeviceType)){
                   DeviceType dt = (DeviceType) o;
                   return ""+dt.getId();
                   else
                   return "0";
                   } catch (Exception e) {
                   logger.error(e);
                   throw new ConverterException();
    Any pointers/suggestions on how to write a Converter & help in resolving the error will be highly appreciated
    Regards
    Bansi

    Glad you found a way to make it work. I've got some ideas on improving this, as it is a little hacked together right now.
    But first things first...
    Does the models ArrayList really contain SelectItem
    objects??? If so, why would you bother transfering
    each SelectItem if it's already built.The models ArrayList doesnt contain SelectItems objects. It stores List of
    DeviceType objects retrieved from Database via Spring business layer i.e.
    models = deviceManager.getDeviceTypes() Then this line of code is wrong.
        List<SelectItem> models = new ArrayList<SelectItem>();You are not creating a list of SelectItem objects. You are creating a list of DeviceType objects. It should be:
        List<DeviceType> models = new ArrayList<DeviceType>();
    What are the objects represented by row[0] and
    row[1]?As models ArrayList contains Array of Objects i.e. multiple records (or
    rows) i am using Object[] row to store the values. That means row[0] &
    row[1] will contain column values for e.g. row[0] contains id values viz. 1,2,3
    etc
    What object does setSelectedDevice expect to
    receive?setSelectedDevice sets the selected Device id value submitted from JSF
    page into Backing BeanThis isn't what I was asking. I just want to know the java type object represented by row[0], row[1], and the java type object passed into setSelectedDevice. e.g: String, Integer, DeviceType, etc, or perhaps even the java primitive (int, char, boolean, etc...) if that's the case.
    These two questions are related and important. The java object represented by row[0] needs to be the java object passed into the setSelectedDevice. Actually, just by looking at your code, I can tell you the setSelectedDevice requires a String argument. My bet is that row[0] is not a String.
    As a side note... You shouldn't be making DB calls
    from your bean getters or setters. DB calls can mean
    a performance hit, and JSF will call the getters and
    setters multiple times per page request (which means
    you'll be doing multiple DB calls).... i started working on JSF-Spring-Hibernate project i always asked the
    question on Best Practices and i totally agree with your point. Hence i use
    Spring in the middle layer therefore i always call my Managers from
    Backing Bean for e.g. TestBean calls deviceManager for
    save,update,delete, getDeviceTypes,getDeviceTypes(String id)
    Also i have a question for you on the best practice. What should be the
    arguments to these save, update methods.
    Do you think it should be individual field values as specified in backing
    bean or should it be an objectUmm, I don't know. I'm sorry, I won't be much help to you here. I have not worked with Spring or Hibernate (yet). I can't advise you on those technologies (or how JSF would interface best with them).
    Check out this topic and you might be able to glean some useful information from it.
