Importing design changes from Multisim to Ultiboard

Hi. I have designed a schematic in Multisim and exported the design to Ultiboard for making the PCB. Once I have placed the elements in their location in ultiboard, I would like to do a minor modification to the design. But when i apply the change to schematic in multisim and export it again to Ultiboard, the parts locations will turn back to their original placing and I have to place them again from the beginning. Is their anyway to make ultiboard understand that just import the changes from Multisim ?

What you need to do is Forward Annotate (Transfer menu) the design from Multisim to Ultiboard. This action will only update the changes you make in the schematic.

Hi,
When you transfer a Multi-page design from Multisim to Ultiboard, all the parts are transferred at the same time and placed outside of the board outline and there is no way to automatically group parts that come from a specific page.
Now, one thing you could do is create a Part group in Multisim. Open a page and select all the component, then go to the Spreadsheet View, Components tab. Go to the Part group column, click one of the cells and enter a name for the group. Repeat for other pages if necessary.
Transfer the design to Ultiboard. Now, let's say that you want to place on the board outline only the parts from a specific page. In the Spreadsheet View go to the Parts tab. In the Part group column select the entire group; only the components that belong to this group will be highlighted. Now you can simple drag and drop the entire group of components.

Unable to import design package from O365 to SharePoint On Premises - Why ?

Recently , I have added following site columns in "Article Page" content type in O365.

Rollup Image
Article Date
Summary Links
Image Caption
Byline
And changed css for look and feel of left navigation menu.
After that, I have taken design package and tried to deploy on "On-Premise" plaform via design manager.
And I have received following error :
Feature definition with Id "XXX" failed validation, file ListInstances\ElementsContentType.xml'The 'AllowDeletion' attribute is not declared.
Would you please tell me - whats going wrong ? is that O365 update issue ? or something I made wrong ?

For trying to answer for this thread ,
To replicated this on my environment,(Download the Design Package from my O365 and restoring it on my On-Premise environment)
I found the the new attribute "AllowDeletion=true" in which package downloaded from the O365.
In Visual studio, used the "Import Reusable Package" template and in Feature
definition file " deleted the allowdeletion attribute.
It started to work on
my environment. Please try it on your environment (on prem) and let us know the difference or result.
And also , I wanted
add my bit of notes, we should not test the Office 365 Package on onprem environment as it had different signatures and lot of new features those are very specific to O365 and Cloud apps.

Can I use home sharing to import library changes from one library to another, on the same computer without duplicating the song/movie?

I have two imacs, each with multiple accounts. The itunes source data (music videos etc) is stored in the shared area of one imac. What is the best way of keeping each account on each imac up to date with any changes/additions in the source data? I felt that Home sharing could be a solution, and it works well by import the library onto the second mac and I can also see if there are any changes by using the "Show items not in my lbrary" function. However, this only works well for one account on the second mac, for the other accounts it will re-import and duplicate the data .

Locate them in the Windows Explorer, move or copy those files as you would any other, and drag them into the open iTunes window when the second library is loaded. If you're using two iTunes libraries on one user account, you only need to locate the files; otherwise, they need to be put in a shared area.

Indd will not update placed images that have type design changes from Ai

I am creating a book in Indesign ca4 and have placed hundreds of images from Illustrator cs4. These images have unconverted type in them. When i update the font (in FontExplorer X) the files updates fine in Ai. However, when I go to the Indd file nothing changes. If i click on one of the images and relink then the updated font pops in. Now normally when I change anything else in an Ai file it automatically changes in the Indd file or at least shows that the file needs to be "updated".
The problem is that I don't want to spend hours clicking each graphic, going to relink find the file, etc. Also, the font change is mearly the same font with a different revision number and it is difficult to even see if the font has actually updated, I would be blind by the time I finished the process of updating each graphic and verifying that it actulally updated.
I do not want to convert the type to outlines, as this would cause even more time issues.
I don't understand how the this can happen without a red flag happening somewhere along the process, as the previous font that shows up in Indd no longer exists and the file is not embeded, or converted?

Peter, thanks for working on this for me I appreciate your heIp. I think what is happening is that when the font is updated it is not acknowledged by the Ai file until it is opened and resaved. Additionally, Ai does not change anything in a file that is resaved unless a change is made. So, what I had to do is open each Ai file and move or nudge some insignificant object or some other change to force an update, then resave the file. Also, if a change is made then undo is selected the file will not update it must be an actual change. Then it will update.

CD Import - Genres changed from "Country" to "Country & Folk"

Does anyone know why since the last itunes "upgrade" they started forcing all the country cd's to be shown in genre "Country & Folk" and does anyone know how to get rid of the "Country & Folk" genre since they should each be in their own genre; not shared?

Do you mean this is happening to everything already in iTunes?
Or only new audio CDs you import? (which would be Gracenote) Gracenote does nothing after you have already imported a CD.
If it's everything, then it is most likely *Windows Media Player* changing it and already changed the info in the background. iTunes simply updates the display when it rereads the files.
Open WMP, Tools Options > Library.
Uncheck everything under *Automatic media update for files*.
And if it is WMP changing everything, you will need to re-edit them as needed.

To further Dave's following post (I am prescient. I knew what he was going to write ), you can select the CD/Album in iTunes, edit the info correctly then iTunes menu Advanced > Submit CD track names to update Gracenote.

Exporting schematic from Multisim to Cadence Allegro

My company owns a copy of Allegro and Multisim. I'm having a bit of a hard time convincing the powers-that-be that we need another SPICE/schematic capture and/or PCB layout program.
Does anyone have a method for getting schematics, hopefully with footprint and pinout information, from Multisim to Allegro? I've been searching the net for a while now off and on, and I'm coming up empty on this. The best I can come up with is a straight netlist export/import, but then I have the issue of updating part libraries in both programs. So, I thought I'd throw the question to this forum and see if anyone else has dealt with the same or similar issues and has either a solution or a "can't be done in a reasonable amount of time" conclusion they'd like to share. (I mean, I'm pretty sure I could WRITE a program to convert between the two, but it would take half a year or more at my next-to-nil level of expertise in the file formats of each program. Way before that point, Orcad or Ultiboard would be cheaper).

OWB wont import new FKs from Designer

After importing a model from Designer and validating I found a couple of tables with FK constraints that had been defined with no columns. No problem there, went back into Designer and fixed them up.
Now though, for those tables, OWB will not acknowledge the existance of any foreign keys for them. Not even newly created ones!
I have tried many things including deleting the tables from OWB and reimporting new but they still show no foreign keys despite the fact that they are clearly defiined in Designer.
Any ideas?

OK, I figured out what's going on. Things are worse than I first thought.
I appears that whilst the tables are coming from a physical model, the relationships come from the logical model (perhaps via the "relationship" attribute of the foreign key constraints). That suggests that if you have created a physical model from scratch, or have changed the model generated from the logical model (as I have) then importing from Designer into OWB is not a suitable approach.
Looks like I will have to generate DDL from Designer, run it into the database and then reverse engineer from there into OWB.

I have the same problem, and the solutions in Error changing modules | Lightroom do not work. Even uninstalling and reinstalling a new copy did not solve the problem. As anyone got an idea what other lingering files might be causing the problem?

We have implemented change request and upgraded for SP 15 support pack
when the user tries to import through urgent correction by selecting pass correction to test the TP is not getting imported, when i checked the log it is saying
System cancel RFC destination SM_BQ2CLNT100_TRUSTED, Call TMW_SET_PROJECT_SWITCHES: No authorization to logon as trusted system (Trust ed RC=2).
You cannot import any requests for project BD2_P00001 at the moment
Then i went to show project status switches and changed as "Request can be imported" from " request cannot be imported", then the user is able to import the UC from the task list,
But ideally the status switches should be " request cannot be imported" so that the TP can be imported only through change request.
kindly give ur inputs as it is very urgent.

Hi Jith,
First of all try to consolidate all your objects in a single TR and then move to Q from D.
In this case check for the list of objects that you have in your TRs. If TR 3 have all the Objects that were in TR1, TR2, then transporting TR3 alone will work.
Also, you can find the information related to the elements that were missed in your TR1,TR2 by following process.
1. Go to your transport Logs and then to the entries marked as Error.
2. There you will find the Query Element Ids, copy them
3. Now, go to Table(Se16) RSZELTDIR, there enter those query elements.
Now, you can able to find the elements that you have missed in your TRs. Hope this helps you.

Importing a document from Word. How do I change the tabs for the whole document?

I am new to pages. In importing a document from Word, the tabs are all messed. The help topics work fine for adding/changing tabs... only it applies to a single line. I cannot locate info on how to change the settings for the document. Any help?

A set of Tab stops applies to a Paragraph (not a line). A change in stops will apply to all paragraphs selected. A good way to make all your paragraph styles the same is to set up one paragraph the way you want it, then Format > Copy Paragraph Style. Then Select the entire document (Command-A) and Format > Paste Paragraph Style.
Shortcuts for Copy Paragraph Style and Paste Paragraph Style are Shift-Command-C and Shift-Command-V.

Extracting changes from Change Master and importing to another BOM

Dear All,
Our client uses ECM and manages two BOM's the Engineering BOM and Production BOM.
The Engineering BOM s are changed through change number. We need to import these changes to the production BOM, (only the changes) through another change number
This means,
We have the Engineering BOM (No plant, usage 2) and Production BOM (Plant BOM with usage 1)with the same structure (BOM header is Z)
Header : Z
Position 1 :A Qty 1
Postion 2 : B Qty 1
Both initially had components A and B, each with Qty 1.
Now with a change number, the Engineering BOM is changed, a new component C is added, the quantity of A is revised to 2.
Now the Engineering BOM is
Header : Z, Plant ( blank) and Usgae 2
Position 1 :A Qty 2
Postion 2 : B Qty 1
Position 3 : C Oty 1
Our requirement is to extract the changes from the Change master, ie, the extract should say BOM header Z is changed,
New position 3 : C Qty 1,
Modified Position 1, Qty 2.
This should have only the changed information and we want to input this to the Production BOM, through another change number to change the Production BOM.
We want this process to be automated, in the sense, user enters the Production BOM header, Plant and usgae 1 and the new change number, then the BOM will be updated with the changes in the engineering BOM.
My Questions are
1- How to get an extract from the Change master with only the changes file, to a txt or xml or any format?
2- Apart from manually updating the Prodcution BOM by seeing the changes from Environment ->Reporting ->BOM changes of the Change master of the Engineering BOM, is there any other way to update the Production BOM only with the changes?
3- Ideally we want to import the changes to the Production BOM rather than deleting the items and again copying from Engineering BOM. What is best practice used in this scenario?

Got ur point.. This is of course possible.. Practicallyboth the BOM's are not exactly identical. Tere is one more BOM apart from the Production BOM.
And there is a need to transfer the changes ( changes alone ) between BOM's.
Further more, there are interface from SAP to other systems, where they alos requires the BOM changes.. So the requirement arises, how to transfer the changes between BOM and also to other systems from SAP.,
If we do not have any interface from legacy PDM, how to extract the changes from the change master?
What is the general practise followed?

The date information is taken from the camera which writes it to the file. This needs to be set to the correct date and time in the camera itself.
The order the images are shown in the Library mode is set by clicking on the sort button in the tool bar, which if not showing can be activated from view, tool bar. There are different sort orders that can be applied including sorting by file name. You can also sort by dragging the images to the order you wish them to appear in by selecting user order.

Published pages layout changes from iWeb page design why ?

In a couple of pages the layout changes from iweb design to published site, text appears out of place and headers mixed with body text ?
I have gone back to iweb but all is Ok within the file and pages visually, just publishing the site makes text changes to what viewers see
