Importing desktop calendar into mobile me web based calendar

I couldn't understand why the additions and modifications made to my desk top calendar were not syching with my iphone (NOT the new 3G). I went into mobile me web based calendar and realized that that calendar (originally taken from info on my enterage calendar) is all that is being synched. How can I "import" my desktop calendar to my mobile me calendar for purposes of synching?

Have you looked at MobileMe support on Apple's website?
They have setup instructions, FAQ,etc:

  • An explanation of  web-based calendaring

What are the benefits of web-based calendaring?
    <P>
The primary benefit of web-based calendaring is accessibility from any web
browser which allows access anytime, anywhere and from any device that
    integrates a web browser.
    <P>
Users can schedule meetings or view calendar information online regardless of location or
platform. An extensible architecture and support for Internet email standards allows users
to receive meeting and event notifications through email, pagers, and cellular phones.

Create the type of form that you want from http://www.wufoo.com/http://www.bravenet.com or http://www.freedback.com. Enter whatever you like and then just copy and paste the html code into Web Widget at the bottom of iWeb and click Apply and you have your form. You can then alter the size to suit your page.

  • Displaying iCal web-based calendar on my website, like I do with Google cal

I know that I can publish iCal and get a URL and send the URL to people, but I want to do more than that like I do with Google calendar. I want to be able to embed the calendar into one of my webpages and have it automatically updated. I can do this with Google calendar. Google calendar provides me the HTML code to embed their calendar on my website. Can I do this with iCal?

Yeah, I was under the impression that unless I 'invited' people to see it I would have to use a 'public' calendar, which I think may have to be the answer. I guess I shall have to try that and see how it works for me. Functionally you are right it does work, whilst I kept it private however people still weren't seeing it on the website unless I invited them, so I assume the public one will just appear as intended, but I wasn't sure about the consequences of mine being public, guess I should just push on and see what happens.
    Thanks for the reply..

  • Can I import my address book from a web based program

I have aspire hosting and cant import my address book. I have to many contacts to do this individually. It did import my emails and folders, but not my contact list.

Most email providers have an export function and it would export the address book. You will have to get those instructions from your provider.
In Thunderbird the Import option is on the menu bar in the address book under Tools.
Here are instructions for Yahoo but they should be similar for most providers.

  • Is there a new easier way to combine all calendars into one?

    This is a two-part question...
I was wondering if anyone had found an easier way to do this instead of exporting a calendar and importing into a main calendar, and repeating untill all calendars were in one. I have 8 calendars on my computer, but then another 11 on iCloud. These were done over years and had I known how confusing it would get I would never had created more than one or two. I would assume the iCloud calendars with the same names as my computer calendars would be sync'd and have same info?
But also, in many of these calendars I have multiple entries. "Doctor appointment at 3:00"... Maybe 8 times on one particular day. Those multiples are scattered about through all calendars. It's a mess! lol! Is there a way to globally delete duplicate entries on the same day and time? Or must that be a manual task?
Any help someone could give me would be greatly appreciated, and Thank You in advance!!

Okay, I realized it wouldn't take much time to export and import all those calendars into a new all-inclusive calendar, so I've done that. One at a time I exported each calendar to a folder on my desktop. Then I made the new calendar and imported from that "exported" folder, each cal that I exported. I wonder how confident I can be that everything came into the new calendar? I mean, it went back to 2006 or so.
I want to delete all the old calendars. If I do that, will iCloud delete those calendars as well, or do I have to manually delete them from iCloud or it will sync and add back to my computer what I had just deleted? I guess iCloud will update and sync to the new single calendar?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions. I'm just scared of losing years of records of dates I may need to remember. I'm not a very technical person (as you may have guessed :-)!

  • How can I combine multiple icloud calendars into a single published calendar?

I have several calendars in Ical where I map my activities and schedules. Like many I need several calendars to categorise events.
Now, I'd like others to see when I'm free and when I'm unavailable. For this, I'd need to find a way to copy multiple Icloud calendars into a single one for publishing - and the published calendar would also have to sync to any update I make in the original calendar.
Any way to make this happen? Any third party app? Tried a couple - they were outdated and / or cumbersome.
If only there was a "smart calendar" tool in Ical …

It worked - up to the crucial point: after combining icloud calendars into one "on the machine" calendar, the latter is ready for going public. But of course - this public calendar will only contain the .ics files and will not sync for updates from the icloud calendars.
    And that's what I want.
If this problem is not possible to solve with the software available in the Mac - is there any known third party solution for this?
    (Apple: "smart calendars" please!)

  • Insert doc/pdf/jpg into BLOB using forms (web based)

    Hi All,
we have 81741 db on window2000(data server), forms6.0.8.20.1 on windows2000(webserver)
& users using IE6/netscape as setup. User wants to store a pdf/doc/jpg file (stored on his PC)
    into database.
He wants ability to view this pdf/doc/jpg later & have ability to download again to his pc. Please note
that we have web based setup & not using HTTP server (using WebDB listener).
I am planning to use BLOB to store the table in database, but cannot figure out what/how to force forms
    to do this.
If someone has done this before, could you please update this thread on how to proceed.
Thanks a lot for your input...
    Abhi.

AS far as inserting images you can use the image item in Oracle Forms and base it on a blob column in the database.
Regarding the other types of data you can upload them to the database using a Java function on the application server (use the java importer from Forms to call the Java class). You can use another Java function to retrieve the info from the database to the application server, and then use web.show_document to get the file from the application server to the client.
Or you can wait a few weeks for the Webutil utility that will have this functunality built into it.

  • Embed Web based reviews into PDF

We are using the ESM solution accelerator which initiates web-based reviews.  The comment files created by Acrobat are stored as RSS feeds.  At the end of a stage, I need to deliver a self-contained PDF with all the comments.  I'm looking for DDX or the process to do that.  I have the logic to get at all the supporting files (PDF, comment files) but, I can't seem to figure out how to "import" the RSS feeds as annotations into the source PDF.
    Thanks,
    Charles

The comments are stored in xml in the review zone provider.
You can use a DDX to import the comments in the PDF.

  • Importing Now Up To Date Calendar into iCal

I have been using NUTD for ten years. It is now starting to crash often with the latest OS software. So I would like to import my entire NUTD calendar into iCal. However, I cannot figure out how to do this. I have looked at discussions on the subject, but they all seem to be several years old. Any new ideas on doing this? I have a Bed and Breakfast and need the past ten years calendar info, plus the reservation info that goes out three year from now. So I need to import 13 years worth of calendar data.

I just did a full migration from Now Up-to-Date to iCal and was successful using a tip obtained elsewhere. The key is to pass the data through Excel and Palm Desktop. Now can't export vCal yet and iCal won't import tab delimited text. However, Palm Desktop can import tab-delimted text and export vCal.
I don't think you can successfuly create multiple iCal calendars from the Now categories going through Palm Desktop; I didn't try that. To make sure it worked out, I did it using multiple export/imports doing one Now category at a time by passing it through Excel. Here's a summary of the steps:
    1. Export your date rage from Now in tab-delimited format.
    2. Open the export file in Excel, sort by category.
    3. Extract all entries for each category into separate workbooks, save each as tab-delimited text file format.
    4. Open Palm Desktop and create a new calendar for the category (e.g business, personal, special events, etc.) Save it in a temp place like your desktop.
    5. Import the text file to the new Palm Desktop calendar
    6. Export from Palm Desktop to a vCal file
    7. Create a new calendar in iCal for the category to be imported
    8. Import the vCal file into that calendar.
Repeat steps 4-8 for each Now category.
There were some anomolies I couldn't explain (like some single-day all-day events becoming two-day events in iCal), but I just cleaned those up manually.
Repeating events in the Now Calendar will become multiple single events in iCal. Also, if you have any commas in titles or notes, the process of passing through Excell wil put " " around those entries in iCal. If this bothers you, you could pass the saved Excel text files (from step 3) through a text editor (Text Wrangler works best, TextEdit should do it also) to delete the quotes if you want.

  • Import a Calendar into Apple Calendar

I downloaded a calendar in "ics" format from my school district website. How do I import that calendar into my calendar app on my iPhone?

    Hi Frameguy,
It looks like you will want to add the calendar directly from the server rather than downloading it first.
From the iPhone User Guide - For iOS 7.1 Software
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/#iphone
Subscribe to a calendar. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then tap Add Account. Tap Other, then tap Add Subscribed Calendar. Enter the server and filename of the .ics file to subscribe to. You can also subscribe to an iCalendar (.ics) calendar published on the web, by tapping a link to the calendar.

  • Best Advice for a working web-based email, calendar and contacts sync system

I am setting up an office with people that use Blackberry curves. They all have Gmail but that is not important at this point - what I am hoping to achieve is a working (note the operative word: working) solution for keeping a calendar, contacts, and email all in sync on the Blackberry devices. Google promises much but fails to deliver a working solution, their system is frought with problems form errors to duplicated events and contacts to slowing down the phone. Does anyone have an alternative scenario using some other free web-based solution that actually works well? Feel free to post your working solution!
    Thanks!

    check out funambol or scheduleworld
or stick with the gmailsync... it will eventually work... it just got released not to long ago... they will work out the bugs... once they do, it will be the next best thing to a BES
