Importing Development Objects in Integration Repository ?

Hi ,
How do i import development objects that have been exported ? e.g , i export a "message mapping" object using Tools->Export Development Objects, could see it stored in a folder in the XI server m/c , however , when i try import development objcts option from Tools menu, i don't see an option to specify the location of the .tpz file which has to be used for import !!
Also , if i try to import the message mapping object which was created in a different namespace to my new namespace, will there be any issues ?
Are there any changes that have to be done in my new namespace( assuming i will be able to do the import in the first place).
Ne pointers as to how to do it are welcome
Thanks
Saravana

Hi,
When you export 'a message mapping object'/repository objects (all objects in repository is called repository objects), it is stored under
  <install_path>/xi/repository_server/export
To import this object, you must manually copy this into
  <install_path>/xi/repository_server/import
and then choose the Tools -> Import Design Objects..." menu option to import the repository objects (only the files from the import directory can be selected).
If the import is sucessful, the import object will be moved to /importedFiles folder.
While importing, i don't think you can change the namespace of the object. After importing also it will have the same namespace as before importing.
Hope it helps.

  • Import design object into integration repository

    HI.
We are going to import "XI3_0_SAP_BASIS_6.40_SP09_01.tpz" into integration reposiotry. So, we move this file into "G:\usr\sap\DEV\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import" and start integration reposiotry.
Then, I clicked tool -> import design object but system can't find any object.
How can I fix this ?
    Regards, Arnold.

    Hi,
Generally, the import of this component is done during installation itself, just check if the installation has been completed. Check out michal's FAQ blog to get simple steps to check if installation has been completed properly. You can probably copy the tpz version of the SAP BASIS component again from the installation DVD and try and import it.
Btw, what kind of a platform is XI running on - Unix platform? Whatever it is, are you able to see the tpz file at its location? Check if the folder that the tpz if existing in has all the permissions to pick up the file.

  • Import of SAP Objects into Integration Repository in XI 3.0

    Hi all,
I am not able to import SAP objects into the Integration Repository in XI 3.0. This option is under any Software Component  Version. I have selected the radio button "Import of RFC and IDoc interfaces from SAP systems permitted", in the Software  Component Version settings. After the connection data is specified for the SAP system nothing appears under the IDoc, Whereas  the import of RFCs is successfull.
We also have another installation of SAP XI 3.0, here this option is working properly. Can anyone tell me what is the  problem, is is there something else to be configured inorder to do this.
    Best regards,
    Norway

    Hi Stephan
Thank you for your answer. We have followed your instructions but did only get half a success. Here is what we have done:
    1) Created "External Definitions" for all related xsd-files with the same name as the xsd-filename and in our own namespace. Our namespace is different from those specified in the xsd-files. We have not change the namespaces in the xsd-files.
    2) Maintained the "source"-field with the name for the xsd-file and not the url as specified in our answer. When we used the filename only we got a value the field "name" in the "External References".
    3) We made a message mapping and imported the "top-level-xsd-element" from the "External Definition". This resulted in only the top level element and nothing else. What we expected was the possibility to drill down through the complete structure.
What did we doe wrong? Perhaps I could talk you into spending 10 min. and try it your self? This url leads to a zip file with all the related xsd files: http://rep.oio.dk/ubl/xml/schemas/0p71/documentation/resources.html
Do you know if it will be possible to make references across namespaces in a later version of XI?

  • Best way to import all objects into work repository located on a new master respository

    Hi,
We have two separate master repositories, one for all development work repositories (Development, ST, UAT, IAT), and one for Production.
What would be the best approach to export and import all objects from the Dev Repository into the Prod Work Repository located on the Prod Master Repository.
Internal Ids of all work repositories are different.
We have tried putting everything into a solution and exporting that, but that did not work when we tried to import it.
We successfully exported and imported a single scenario, however this is not very practical as we have over 500 scenarios.
    All suggestions welcome,
    Thanks,
    Nic

    Thanks,
But we want to keep Dev Work Repositories separate to Prod Work Repositories on their respective Master Repositories.
So our end result will have:
    1) All Development Work Repositories located in the Development Master Repository on the Development server.
    2) The Production Work Repository located on the Production Master Repository on the Production Server.
    3) The ability to update a Solution or similar in Development with all changes to any objects.
    4) The ability to import the Solution into the Prod Work Repo on the Prod Master Repo and execute via a load plan.
    Is this possible?

  • Problem importing idoc to XI integration repository

I have deleoped a custom IDOC and released in SAP/R3. Next I have imported it to XI using transaction IDX2 without problems.
However, when I try to import the metadata to the integration repository, I can't find it in the list of available IDOcs. I have tried to refresh the catches, and even restartet the XI server, but i doesn't help.

  • Importing Development Objects

I created a transport request into which I packed my gallery folders and development objects. I exported the request as a local file
I then deleted all the folders along with the development objects and then imported the .sda file using the SDM.
The folders were recreated, but the development objects did not re-appear even though I had turned off the post-processing by setting the devobj.after_import_processing key to false.
In addition, I tried to manually import the development objects, but they were not availalble there either.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Gregory,
Please note that you export the GP Contents to the ABAP stack of a server,
and while importing you need to Select the same Server to which the contents were exported.
    Server1(Java Stack) --> <b>Export</b> --> Server2(ABAP Stack)
    Server2(ABAP Stack) --> <b>Import & Release</b> --> Server2(Java Stack)
Hence while importing you need to see to which Server you exported from same server you need to import.
    Hope it will help....

  • Import BPEL process into integration repository ???

    Hey all,
I know that it's possible to export an integration scenario to BPEL4WS.
My first question is if it's also possible to import such a BPEL4WS process into the integration repository?
Second question: Somewhere I read that it's optional to design integration scenarios with the graphical designer. Is that true and is there another way to create such a scenario?
    Thanks for your help!
    Regards
    Matthias

    >My first question is if it's also possible to import such a BPEL4WS process into the integration repository?
Yes you can import BPEL4WS, in IR.
    1. Create Integration process
    2. Switch to BPEL4WS display sceen and import your BPEL.
    go through the following link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/9f/7a7440036f6d1de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    >Second question: Somewhere I read that it's optional to design integration scenarios with the graphical designer. Is that true and is there another way to create such a scenario?
Aris is a tool to configure your Integration scenario other than graphical scenario.
I dont think it is available today with XI3.0.
There is lot of documentation available on ARIS with SAP.

  • About Interface objects in Integration Repository

    Hi All,
I want to know details about Data type enhancements & Context objects in Interface Objects. Please help me.
    Thanks,
    GOPI.

    Hi Gopikishor,
_Context objects:_ Its nothing but  to access a  element payload of the message,in Simple terms,  X-Path expressions in the repoistery..
Deeply Nested elements in the Message structure.
    Ex:
    <Header>
         <PurchaseOrgData>
                <Sender>
                       <PurchaseData> Goods</PurchaseData>
                 </Sender>
         </PurchaseOrgData>
    </Header>
Define X-path for the above structure: \Header\PurchaseOrgData\Sender\PurchaseData\
Once we can define the "Context Objects" we can use following situations..
    1) Receiver Determination: During the Receiver Condition in the Integration directory,
    2) Integration Process: During the processing business process depends upon content of message.
    Datatype Enhancement:

    Hi,
I am new in XI(PI). I have created Technical system, business system and software component properly.
But when I go to IR and import the software component, it gives me an error message +*'Unable to read software component versions from System Landscape Directory "sapxi:50000".
Can anyone tell me the reason for this...and solution...Please help me out...
    Thanks/Regards
    Dinesh Singh.

    Hi,
As your question says that, your are not able to import your software component version in to IR.
First better you cross check your software component is available or not in the SLD.
Can you please go to SLD and got to search field and give your software component name and search for the availablity. If you are able to see your software component detailse and after referesh your cache.environment->clear sld data cache
and try once and also please check your SLD information like logical system name and everything and try If still your facing the same problem let me know.
Just check if the replies in this thread help you:

  • Objects arrangement in Integration Repository

    Hi All,
I have some questions about Objects Arrangement in Integration Repository.
Let’s say that the scenario is as follow :
I have two on going projects. There are data exchanges in both projects.
In Project_1, R/3 needs to get data from CRM system,
while in Project_2, R/3 needs to get data from SEM system.
How should I arrange the objects in Integration Repository using the most common way (best practice) ?
(For example, is it supposed to be like this
    Model A :
    Product : MYCOMP_R/3
    SWC  : MYCOMP_R/3
    NameSpace : http://mycompany.com/R3/Project_1
(Here we put all the R/3 related Objects of Project_1)
                   http://mycompany.com/R3/Project_2
(Here we put all the R/3 related Objects of Project_2)
    Product : MYCOMP_CRM
    SWC  : MYCOMP_CRM
    NameSpace : http://mycompany.com/CRM/Project_1
(Here we put all the CRM related Objects of Project_1)
    Product : MYCOMP_SEM
    SWC  : MYCOMP_SEM
    NameSpace : http://mycompany.com/SEM/Project_2
(Here we put all the SEM related Objects of Project_2)
    or like this ?
    Model B :
    Product : PROJECT_1
    SWC : PROJECT_1
    NameSpace : http://mycompany.com/proj1/R3
(Here we put all the R/3 related Objects of Project_1)
                   http://mycompany.com/proj1/CRM
(Here we put all the CRM related Objects of Project_1)
    Product : PROJECT_2
    SWC : PROJECT_2
    NameSpace : http://mycompany.com/proj2/R3
(Here we put all the R/3 related Objects of Project_2)
                   http://mycompany.com/proj2/SEM
(Here we put all the SEM related Objects of Project_2)
    Please advise me………
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    1. You have a choice of making one SWCV per project in a company or per Thrid-party project.
    2. You can have one SWCV and then have one namespace for each Interface you are developing itrrespective of the sender or reciever system.
    3. If you have one SWCV for each Third-party product then you have to again design as to where different object should be , Sender system or reciver system.
    4. If you keep all the object pertaining to one Interface together under a namespace the readability increases.
    Hope this helps.

  • Duplicate software componentn in Integration Repository

    Hi Experts,
I have a scenario here in which I was trying to move my objects in Integration Repository from dev to prod by simply exporting it. I have done exporting all objects by choosing " All objects of Individual Namespaces ".
Now, my problem is when i successfully Imported my objects to production. It does not update the existing Software component version where my object is located, but instead, it creates a duplicate Software component containing the same Software component version and namespaces(old-running in production and newly created objects).
I haven't activated this yet, beacause I was trying to delete this, but whenever I try to delete what I have imported, it says that the old namespace would be affected since they have the same namespace in which this is already running in production.
Do you have any idea how can I delete what I have Imported, our Go-live would be next week. and also how will I export my objects in dev, without duplicating it in prd.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I hope you  can try " Reject Changes" if didn't activated the SWCV. Else for deletion, you can use below weblog.
    /people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/05/22/how-to-delete-software-component-from-integration-builder
Secondly have a look into below document for consistent changes for SWC while transporting,
