Importing Domino Directory to OID

Hello,
I need some pointers regrading importing contents on Domino directoy to OID.
1. I have LDAP serer running on domino.
2. I created an intergration profile with correct URL & port no.
3. I enable this & nothing happens....
How can I create mapping rule file? have you got a smaple for Domino?
What else is missing?
Please Help
Thank you
Sha

Thanks Andres,
I tried to query the Active directory in the way you said ....but nothing !
ldapsearch
-p 389
-h adhost
-D "cn=Administrator,cn=users,dc=domain,dc=com" \
-w "mypassword"
-b "cn=users.oracle.com"
-s base "objectclass=*"
and in these formats too:
(-b "dc=users.paan.com"
-b "cn=users,dc=paan,dc=com)
I'm really lost, what else could be wrong ?
I'm wondering if there is anything missing from the document i'm following for the Sync.
http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_as_10g/im/ads_import/import.htm?_template=/ocom/technology/content/print
Conceptually the syncronization seams to be a straighforward process, but in reality I find it quite complicated...........maybe i'm missing some key information.....
Any ideas to suggest ?

  • Getting error DIP_GEN_CREATECHG_EXCEPTION in import sync profile for OID

    Hi,
I have used iPlanet import profile to sync OID with Tivoli LDAP.
It works fine with Tivoli Dev LDAP. But when I use the same mapping file and even all same settings and configure a second sync with Tivoli QA LDAP, I get an error DIP_GEN_CREATECHG_EXCEPTION in the .trc file.
Both the LDAPs have similar user data and exactly same number of user attributes and object-classes. Even the bootstrapping is successful.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
    Regards,
    Harmeet

    Hi Harmeet,
    Try the following -
-> Check the mapping file for any unwanted characters like ('carriage return') etc, and reload again.
-> After the bootstrapping, check the LACN, and if LACN isnt set, try updating it to the correct value.
-> Reload the profile, and re-register it.
-> In the mapping file, try to synch each container instead of the entire realm, so that you can isolate the issue.
-> Restart 'odisrv' in debug mode (if not already).
-> Also, since you are using an import profile, check to see if the data (including schema) in the two Tivoli LDAPs are the same. Check if all the mandatory
    attributes are populated.

  • DIP synchronization from Domino LDAP to OID

    Hi,
has anyone tried using DIP to synchronize users and groups from Lotus Domino LDAP to OID?
There is a connector available with OIM, but since I don't need provisioning was hoping to get away without extra OIM infrastructure. (I will use OIM if I have to).
My attempts are still in the early stage, and wanted to make sure I was going down the right road.
Using 10.1.4.3 OID, creating an import connector using the import openLDAP template.
Looks like I can get the mapping down and a manual bootstrap does work.
    1) Can I adapt elements of the OIM adapter to work within the DIP connector?
    2) Domino seems to store groups at the root DSE. The DIP connector does not accept empty or "" as a source domain to search for the groups. It needs that the source groups be stored in a container. Anyone run into this type of thing? Is there something to enter into the DIP connector config that will allow using the ROOT DSE of the target as search source?
    3) When I enable the connector, Synchronization delivers a success status. Reconcile is errored and unsuccessful. Can I get by with only synchronization working?
    4) Going outside of Oracle here...but is anyone aware if Lotus Domino LDAP maintains a changelog? Or does it use modify timestamps as attributes of users/groups?
    5) In the eventuality that I need to write a custom agent for Domino or custom 'Reader' or reconcile agent. Has anyone done this or have sample code to look at? Even if not for Domino, but custom for other LDAP?
    Thanks

it's either DIP via LDAP or OIM connector via Lotus Java API. I'd go with LDAP...if DIP doesn't work, it's pretty simple to write a script to export records and then import them into OID. There are a lot of LDAP utilities, google is your friend.

  • Migrating Users from domino directory

    hi
We are planning to migrate users from domino directory to the sun java directory server. Is it possible to import the csv file of domino into sun directory.
The imported users should be visible in the corporate address book.
Would like to know the file in which the directory server saves the users..
we are using directory server v 6.0
    thanks..

you will need to crunch your csv and convert it to LDIF

  • Active directory vs OID

    Hi,
Can anyone please give me pros and cons of using active directory vs OID.
We are in process of centralizing tnsnames.ora.
    Thanks in advance!

Not sure about windows, but on the solaris end, there is a command line app called 'schemasynch' that will do what you want. It is located in $ORACLE_HOME/bin.
It's a one shot deal program. ie: it doesn't keep directories in synch.
Instructions for it can be found in the OID Admin Guide.
    http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle9i/doc_library/release2/network.920/a96574/syntax.htm#639824
For a continuous synch' approach there is

  • Synchronize Lotus Domino Directory with Office 365/Exchange Online

I have someone who is asking me to migrate them from a Lotus Domino server to Office 360/Exchange online. However they want to maintain a sync between Lotus Domino Directory and Office 365/Exchange Online. I'm wondering if that is even possible
or would they need to have a regular Active Directory server act as a go between the two. Can anyone provide me some guidance/suggestions?
    Vincent Sprague

Curious, did you ever get this setup?
Reason I'm asking is I was involved with a large MSO365 migration (15k) from Lotus Notes. We had a separate AD forest just for email Dirsync. We involved a third party to setup the sync and migration between Notes and AD, and coexistence. It was rather complex.
Out of the box, it would have been extremely difficult.

  • Active directory to oid sync

    hi all,
recently i've been given the assignment of sync one Active Directory to one OID.
    Said so seams easy .....
...... so I installed a fresh copy of Win2000 adv server with Active Directory PLUS another Win2000 adv server with Oracle AS infra.
Then a got a copy of this document:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_as_10g/im/ads_import/import.htm?_template=/ocom/technology/content/print
unfortunately the "dipassistant" command at the end of the document comes out with an error:
    dipassistant ERROR: DIP_GEN_UNKNOWN_FAILURE
I also looked on metalink for some help, and I found the note n. 267153.1
At the begining of the document it is explained how to verify if it possible to read the "container": cn=users,dc=domain,dc=com
Running an ldapsearch on the Active Directory is usefull for verifying any access issues.....
The command does not come out with errors, but it also does not come out with any output (I put few users on the Active Dir).
Thank you in advance for the time

    Thanks Andres,

  • Oracle forms authentication with active directory without OID

    Hi Gurus,
I need to implement active directory authentication in oracle forms.
    My scenario is this:
    1. The user is created in active directory
    2. The user is imported in our aplication, and then I assign the roles in Oracle, and create the user in my aplicattion.
When the user logs, the system have to validate the password with MS-AD. If the password is right, then, the system start a session in Oracle.
    My questions are:
    1. How can I validate the password in AD ? Is it in clear text, unix crypt, AES ?
    2. In case the user has changed the password in AD, how can obtain he logs in oracle with the new password ?
We use oracle enterprise edition, but we don't have oracle applications, so i can't use identity management.
Thanks in advance for your help

You will need Oracle SSO and OID to implement Active Directory authentication for Oracle Forms. It comes with Oracle Application Server. You will need to read up on how to use AD instead of OID as the user store for Oracle Single Sign-on (SSO). Forms will use SSO to login not really knowing which user store is used so there is no config needed on the Forms side (except enabling SSO).

  • Import and directory synchronize problem

I'm having a problem importing new pictures into an existing file directory which appears in my Lightroom catalog. The photos import normally but show up as a new directory entry off the root of the Lightroom catalog. When I attempt to move/drag them to the existing Lightroom directory I want, I'm told they can NOT be move because they are already there which I can confirm in the Windows file system. Strangely, synchronizing the directory in Lightroom does not find the files even though they are physically there but not showing up in the catalog.  This is a new problem but I can't associate it with anything I've changed in Lightroom lately.  Can anyone suggest what might be going on and more important how to fix it?  It is very irritating. I have another problem and I don’t know if it is related or not.  Lightroom will NOT remember changes I make to calalog location I make through the edit, calalog settings menu or my watch directory for auto import through file, auto import, auto import settings.  It just ignores them and uses what is already there. Again, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The idle-timeout on DSEE was set to none, which I believe is the default. I tried setting it to 1200 and 2400 seconds without success.

If I export a scenario from B_XI and try to reimport it into B_XI, it fails with the same error.  If I export a scenario from B_XI, I can successfully import it into A_XI.
Any idea on how to correct the problem?
    Charlie

    Hi Charlie,
have you configure Groups and Transport Targets correctly?
    is this your first transport?
    have a look at:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ef/a21e3e0987760be10000000a114084/content.htm
just to check if all of the business systems that you use in your scenarios have defined transport targets
    2. you can also have a look at SAP note: 749350
this note applies to sp03  but... as a solution there's a workaround give at the end of the note...
if you won't get any more answers to your post you may want to try it
but obviously I suggest writing an OSS message first

  • Db10g external password authentication with Active Directory via OID

    HI ALL
    - i have the synchronization AD-to-OID
    - i have the external authorization of AD users via SSO (external authorization plug-in)
    - i have the DB10g enterprise authorization of OID native users who have their password in OID (global schema)
    - but i cann't configure the DB10g autorization of AD-to-OID synchronized users who don't have their password in OID
    error:
ORA-28274: No ORACLE password attribute corresponding to user nickname exists.
i.e. those users are not recognized as users with external passwords.
    Any ideas, please ...

Funny thing - LDAP (OID and Active Directory) defines a generic heirachical database. Like any other generic database, you need to define the schema to define what data is to be captured.
Each LDAP application expects a certain schema. That includes Enterprise User Security (part of the Advanced Security Option).
To accomplish what you want to do
    1) get familiar with the Enterprise User Security capability (see the EUS documentation at tahiti)
    2) learn to configure SQLNet / Oracle Networking to use LDAPthat is responsib (''cause it's Oracle Networking responsible for the login)
    3) Reverse the schema from OID and transport it to AD
    Aside from that, it's a no-brainer.

  • Error importing XI directory objects into consolidation

    Bhaskar

    Hi Bhaskar -
You mentioned you're using single/central SLD.  In your SLD, in Technical Landscape and then Technical System Type->Exchange Infrastructure, do you have corresponding entries for your DEV XI and QA XI?  At a base count, there should be 12 total.
If not, for both the DEV and QA XI, do you have Technical System type - Web AS Java?
    Regards,
    Jin

  • Best way to import a directory structure

I have been using iTunes on my new Mac to download stuff from the iTunes Store. I'd like to start using it to play music from my PC's archives.
iTunes seems to organize its display based on metadata in its own files, gleaned from the ID3 tags. It seems to ignore the directory and filename.
The organization method I've followed to this point on the PC is the exact opposite - all music is organized by directory and filename. ID3 tags are used in most cases, but they are not correct across the board. A slim majority are totally correct and ready for importation.
The library is about 10k songs large, so manual retagging is out of the question. Importing the directories as-is leads only to extreme frustration.
Can anyone recommend a utility for retagging files automatically based on directory and filename info?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Actually, that's exactly how iTunes does it.
Artist, Album, Song name are Artist directoy, Album directory, song name is filename.
True, that is how iTunes organizes music on the filesystem. My point is that iTunes keys its library database on ID3 tags, not pathname. In other words, I cannot organize my library by directory and filename. (With the intent of updating their tags, honest)
Unless my impression is wrong, I must tag all files correctly before adding them to iTunes, to prevent incorrectly named tracks in the library.
What are your directory and file names?
See this script -> Tags Mirror Artist-Album-Filename
"This script copies the names of the Artist folder, Album folder and filename of the selected tracks to each track's artist, album and song name tags, respectively. Your files and folders must be arranged in this format:
    Artist folder:Album folder:filename.xxx"
    Or this one...
    Filenames to Song Names
This script will rename the selected tracks in iTunes with their filenames (minus the extension)."
This is great stuff. Thank you for pointing me at this site. I'm sure I will need to roll my own script as my directory structure is different than what these scripts appear to address. Ah well, it's a good opportunity to learn AppleScript.
Fwiw, generally my convention has been:
    [MusicRoot]/Genre/Artist - TrackName.ext (for one-off tracks)
    [MusicRoot]/Genre/Artist - Album/Artist - Album - TrackNum - TrackName.ext
    [MusicRoot]/Compilations/Album/Album - TrackNum - Artist - TrackName.ext
    Thank you!

  • Db10g external password authentication from Active Directory via OID

    HI ALL
    - i have a synchronization AD-to-OID (OAS 10.1.2 (Infra)cold failover cluster, 2 nodes)
    - i have external authorization of AD users via SSO (external authorization plug-in)

I've gone through that thread a few times already, but it only covers infrastructure based on Sun JDS, which seems to pose less problems than Active Directory. Many others refer only to hand-compiled OpenLDAP installations which are quite different to configure... sigh
I have, however, managed to get the base system running - meaning I can see Solaris ask LDAP for locally unknown user and group names - but all I get back is Unknown Object.
Here's a snoop dump of one of the failed requests, in hope someone here can shed some light on the problem:
request from my server to the LDAP box:
    LDAP: [Base Object]
    LDAP: ou=people,OU=Austria,DC=AT,DC=OurADdomain,DC=com
    LDAP: [Scope]
    LDAP: wholeSubtree
    LDAP: Equality Match *[3]
    LDAP: [Attr Descr]
    LDAP: objectClass
    LDAP: [Value]
    LDAP: posixAccount
    LDAP: *[3]
    LDAP: [OctetString]
    LDAP: uid
    LDAP: [OctetString]
    LDAP: myusername
    reply from the LDAP server:
    LDAP: [Error Message]
    LDAP: 0000208D: NameErr: DSID-031001CD
    LDAP: , problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data
    a) our Active Directory 2003 R2 with the default Unix schema does not seem to implement the objectClass=posixAccount attribute, although the documentation on MSDN suggests that attribute should be there. I'm atm about to get some MS guy to solve this..
    b) The base object DN seems to always get prefixed with ou=people - why? I didn't enter that field with ldapclient, and that orgunit does not exist in AD per default. How can I prevent Solaris from modifying my search path in that way? I think this is one of the reasons why I keep getting no-object-errors.
    c) Our AD doesn't seem to offer a way to create/modify the unix object classes shadowExpire, shadowFlag and others for password management. Are those strictly necessary - i.e. will I run into new problems with those if I managed to solve a) and b)?
