Importing DVD to iPod Touch

Can anyone tell me how to transfer a DVD to my iPod Touch? I know that you can purchase them at the iTunes store, but I would like to get some movies that I ALREADY PURCHASED on DVD. Thanks in advance....

First you have to put the DVD onto your computer and then convert it. There are a lot of programs that can be used for this.
I use DVD Decrypter to put DVDs on my computer and Videora to convert them so I can put them on my iPod.

    Hey Tony,
This article will walk you through converting and syncing a video file using iTunes.

Depending on how your video was created, you may need another application to convert the video to a iPod compatible format.

    import dvd to ipod

Sorry, but if you're referring to commercial and hence copy-protected DVDs, breaking the copy protection, which would be necessary to copy the videos from the DVD and convert them, is illegal in the US (and other countries), so we're not allowed to discuss it here.
If these are home movies that you or someone has burned to DVD and hence are not copy-protected, Handbrake (freeware) is one of the more popular converters. Once converted, you just drag the movie into the iTunes window on your computer and you can then sync it to your iPod.
If you're not referring to a video DVD, let us know what these disks are and what's on them and we can probably offer suggestions.
    Regards.

  • Sync DVDs to iPod touch

I have loaded some DVDs to iTunes but they don't sync.
    Is this possible?
    What do I do?

iTunes does not import DVDs so how have you managed to load them into it?
If they are commercial copy-protected movie DVDs then you can't load them into iTunes for syncing.
If they are your own home movies recorded onto DVD you need to Google for an "iPod video converter", to get them into a format that iTunes can sync.

  • Convert DVDs to Ipod touch

Hi, Can someone give me details of any software I can use to transfer DVDs to my Ipod touch? I just want something really easy and simple to use - I simply want to transfer them straight to the ipd I don't need to edit them or do anything fancy with them. I am using a Mac computer running OSX
    Help is much appreciated.

Do you mean DVDs you've made yourself or commercially released DVDs? If you mean commercially released films or TV shows on DVD I'm afraid that can't be discussed as that involves breaking the encryption on them. Such discussions are against the terms of use. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.":

  • Installing DVD on iPod Touch

I purchased a set of lectures on DVD that I'd like to be able to put on my iPod Touch so I can take it to the library with me and not have to drag my laptop. I tried using Handbrake to rip the DVD, but it only ripped the first lecture on the DVD and not all 7. Is there a program that will let me install the DVD onto my iPod? BTW, my iPod is the latest version and software is all updated.
    Thanks,
    Carole

Handbrake is great for things like this - if you have a DVD with multiple media clips on it the you can add them all to a queue and Handbrake will work its way through them.
On the Handbrake home screen there is a drop down with all the media clips that the program finds on a disk - you just need to select it and add it to the queue. When you hit start it works its way through the list.
You can see it in the picture below - the drop down shows all available files:
You can see the "add to queue" button just above it.
The only snag here is that they will be converted as individual files and will appear on your iPod as individual clips. You can name these episodes or chapters or which ever way helps you differentiate between them. They work for me in box sets...not exactly as I'd like it but as good as you'll get.
Have a look and see what you think..

  • What is the best dvd to ipod touch converter program for the mac

I am trying to convert dvd to watch on my ipod touch/1st gen ipad.  Currently I am trying to use 4media dvd to ipod to do this.  Having a number of problems.  Is there a better program out there that works consistantly?

If you are trying to convert store bought DVD's, then they are encrypted and it is illegal to break the encryption.

  • IMPORTANT - Sound on iPod Touch not working

My iPod touch 4g has been exposed to water, and now the sound does not work. If I plug it into a docking station, the audio will work, however, when I take it off, there is no volume slider. My headphones worked earlier (whenever I plug them in, Voice Control comes up), and the audio worked fine. However, now the headphones do not work! The speakers do not work at all since water contact.
Please help me. I am panicking a lot now.
    Kai

Assuming the iPod is now dry:
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a hardware problem caused by the water.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the others. They do not fix yours.

  • Getting my dvd to ipod touch

hi, can anyone help im havin trouble finding out how to get my new movies from dvd onto ipod
    thanks all help appreciated

The vast majority of commercial DVDs are encrypted. In the U.S., breaking that encryption, a necessary first step in copying, is illegal. Because of that, the terms of use of these forums prohibit discussions of software or methods. It doesn't matter if you've purchased the DVDs legally. What you didn't buy was the right to copy them.
However, more and more DVDs are coming with a digital download that you can use on your iPod.
    Best of luck.

I am trying to import a musical dvd to my Ipod nano but the disk is not recognized in Itunes

Unfortunately, in order to copy a commercial DVD, you would need to break the encryption, a process which is illegal in the U.S. and other countries. Because it's illegal, the Terms of Use for these forums prohibit us from discussing methods. Sorry.

try this. you could have found the same thing by typing your subject into the search instead of a post.
you'll get about 2.5 hrs of video play if you manage your battery well.

  • Dvd to ipod touch

can i copy dvds to my ipod and if so how do i do it

If they are commercial, encrypted DVDs, the terms of use of the forums prohibit discussions of software or methods of doing so. If they are unencrypted DVDs, home movies for example, there are programs you can use. Your profile doesn't appear ton say what operating system you use. Handbrake is highly regarded. There is a version for Macs and, I think, for windows.

You can't if the DVD is copy protected/has DRM. It is illegal to break the copy protection/DRM
