Importing existing youtube or vimeo videos

Can I import an existing youtube video or vimeo video back into imovie09 for edit. thanks in advance.

I have this exact problem and just like sabbarin I've tried creating a new profile, disabled add ons, reinstalled flash, reinstalled firefox. Nothing worked. Back to explorer I suppose (where youtube and vimeo are working fine).

  • How do I embed YouTube or Vimeo video in an apple mail message

    Is there an easy  way to embed YouTube or Vimeo video in an apple mail message?
    I've tried using command+i (same with share feature) on a YouTube page ... looks great except I get missing plugin error on video.
    I'm up to date on Flash plugin, running Safari 6, OS X 10.8. No old Flash files in the internet library.
    Any help is appreciated!

    There's an HTML validator built in to the editor and it will, by default, throw out all but the simplest HTML tags.
    The Apple document, Mac OS  X Server, Wiki Server Administration V 10.6 explains all the gruesome details. But here's the solution that I use:
    Change to the Wiki Server's directory by using
    cd /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/WikiServer
    If it doesn't exist, create a file called whitelist.plist:
    sudo touch whitelist.plist
    The file will be owned by root and all members of the _teamserver group. The latter is required for the Wiki service to have access.
    Then edit the file with any appropriate editor -- I like vi:
    sudo vi whitelist.plist
    The file needs to have very specific formatting. This one should get your YouTube embedded HTML working:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>protocols</key>
    <array>
    <string>scp</string>
    </array>
    <key>styles</key>
    <array>
    <string>font-size</string>
    </array>
    <key>tags</key>
    <dict>
    <key>object</key>
    <array>
    <string>width</string>
    <string>height</string>
    </array>
    <key>param</key>
    <array>
    <string>name</string>
    <string>value</string>
    </array>
    <key>embed</key>
    <array>
    <string>src</string>
    <string>type</string>
    <string>width</string>
    <string>height</string>
    </array>
    <key>script</key>
    <array>
    <string></string>
    </array>
    <key>hr</key>
    <array>
    <string></string>
    </array>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    After making changes or additions, save and close the whitelist.plist file then restart the Web service using the Server Admin application.
    If you aren't at all familiar with vi, then you may want to instead create a text file on your desktop, put the content into it, then move it to the right location and change its ownership and permissions.
    Hope this helps.

    After Yosemite upgrade, youtube and vimeo videos not playing

    Hey not sure this will help, but I had the same problem, got errors, no video's worked.
    I restarted hitting the OPTION key and chose the server drive to boot from, then repaired disk, then repaired permissions and restarted.
    Youtube then worked afterwards. Hope it works for you!

  • How to link to a youtube or vimeo video in Adobe Presenter

    I am new to using Presenter, and am having trouble inserting videos in Adobe Presenter (the videos are often over 1 hour in duration) and am wondering if it's possible to instead insert/embed the link to the video, which is hosted on either YouTube or Vimeo. Is there a simple way to do this?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi akuswara3, thanks for your reply.
    Unfortunately, it appears that that the method I originally posted (above) is now broken in Presenter 8 and 9.  The YouTube video still plays fine, but otherwise the entire Presenter interface breaks as soon as the video is played (all clickable items stop responding).
    That being said, you don't really need to be a Flash developer to create an SWF handler for a YouTube video.  If you have access to the Flash development application, then all you need to do is
    Open Flash (from your CS6 bundle)
    Paste the above ActionScript into the "Actions Frame"
    Modify the script according to the instructions above to make the script call the desired YouTube video
    Click File->Publish to output a SWF file.
    That's it.  Google's YouTube API (and its AS3 interface) simplifies the matter, doing all the heavy lifting for us.  The end result will be a SWF file that uses the YouTube API to call, load, and play a YouTube video.  Anywhere you can embed that SWF file, you can play a YouTube video.
    Unless, of course, Adobe does something to break it.
    Oh BTW - as for your last question.  I do believe that the newest release of Adobe Captivate allows for HTML embedding, including <iframes>.  This would effectively eliminate the problem altogether, as you could simply embed YouTube videos using the <iframe> embed code that YouTube generates for you.
    But for now, the best way to get a YouTube into Adobe Presenter is via hyperlink (very disappointing).  Instead of a plain text hyperlink, I'd suggest a screenshot of the video and hyperlinking the image instead - or at least creating a "video button" in the PPT (better interface communication).

  • Youtube/Vimeo Video Milky (video levels)

    Youtube and Vimeo videos are rendered with video levels, and not full range. Therefore all videos look washed out. Is there a fix for this?

    Hello,
    In order to better assist you with your issue please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see [[How do I create a screenshot of my problem?]]

  • YouTube and Vimeo problems with Apple TV

    Hello,
    I own a MacBook Pro with retina display and the most recent version of Yosemite is installed, and an Apple TV which recently automatically updated.
    In the last two weeks, I have encountered significant difficulties in trying to play YouTube or Vimeo videos whilst connected to my TV with AirPlay. This issue was not present earlier, and I have owned the Apple TV since September and successfully watched both YouTube and Vimeo videos on extended desktop or by mirroring desktop on many occasions before.
    The problem manifests itself as a constant buffering of the video, and will never play. As soon as you disconnect the MacBook from AirPlay the video plays immediately and completely normally. Connect back to AirPlay, and the problem present itself again.
    I use Chrome as a browser, but have tried it recently with Safari and I am encountering the same problem.
    Can anyone help?

    Nevermind with this problem.  I saw the other post where someone mentioned updating via wireless rather than wired ethernet.  After using the wireless, the update was completed successfully and youtube started working as well.

  • Html video youtube or vimeo

    Hello!
    I will show videos on the web I'm doing with Muse and I'll do it using the "Insert HTML".
    What platform will work better: Youtube or Vimeo?
    YouTube has the disadvantage that displays advertisements and Vimeo has the disadvantage of using flash and gives problems with some platforms ...
    Any recommendations?
    Thank you very much

    Hi,
    I think both have there own advantages. When choosing the best platform to host your business videos, consider the goal of your campaign (views vs. engagement), your budget, and your brand itself. YouTube may be more suitable if high volume and high exposure are key considerations for your videos. If brand reputation and detailed analytics are more important, then Vimeo may be the better choice. In either case, your business will benefit from being part of the vastly popular, online video movement.

    Is there a way we can edit and improve existing youtube videos by using premiere pro? Just simple changes like having professional looking opening and closing credits?

    Assuming you do not have access to the "original" video/project and the YouTube video is the only copy, there is a method. Try "YouTube Downloader" which is a free software that allows you to download clips from YouTube as .mp4 files. You can then edit with Premiere, and re-encode again for upload to YouTube. Just keep in mind that you are re-compressing the video so there will be some quality loss. The better the quality of the original, the better the copy will hold up.

  • How can I download a 18 minute video I recorded from my iPad to either email or youtube or vimeo I keep getting the message the file is too long.

    How can I transfer a 18 minute video I recorded on my iPad camera app to email/youtube or vimeo? I keep getting the message the file is too long do want to send clips?
    Thanks

    Youtube usually had an 8 minute length cap, which may be part of your issue. Also at 18 minutes that is probably a gig+ file size, which will also take a long time to upload and may be another part of the issue.
    Edit it down as jim suggested. Or you may need to use something like dropbox, to get it off your ipad and onto a computer where might have more options to edit it down or size it down.
    If it's just file size you can transcode it into a smaller file - a lower quality MP4 for example. If it's the length that's an issue for youtube, you'll need to break it up into a couple different files and upload part 1 and part 2

  • Importing existing flash video files??

    howdy
    quick question. if you import existing flash video files into an encore project, will this help reduce the final render time? or will encore rerender the existing flash video files?
    cheers
    angus

    Encore CS3 won't import FLV files. You must render the project to Flash.
    You may want to file a feature request at Adobe's support page asking for support for Flash-ready assets, to eliminate the need to transcode in Encore.

  • Posting videos without using Youtube or Vimeo

    It is needed to be able to post videos and audio files directly with out going through a third party site like Youtube or Vimeo.

    You are all use MacBook laptops, while this forum is Mac Pro tower.
    You might want to find the forum for MacBook Pro.

    As to why, probably something to do with that last Security Update 3 that I skipped on. Maybe you read about it.
    The complaints are likely to be in the "Using Mac OS X Snow Leopard" rather than here.

  • I put  video clips together and added music off of iTunes but it will not attach when I put it on youtube or vimeo. what is wrong.  It plays as I made it on iMovie

    I put  video clips together and added music off of iTunes
    but it will not attach when I put it on youtube or vimeo.
    what is wrong.  It plays as I made it on iMovie

    Thank you all for your replies. Here is what i ended up doing. I cannot afford any 3rd party software so i went to itunes and manually entered all my playlists. As I had indicated my purchased music was on my new computer just not the playlists  and I could not sync my ipod. After I rebuilt all my playlists I tried to restore my ipod to factory defaults/new. All of the steps called for in apple support and elsewhere were not available to me. I connected my ipod, went to my computer, right clicked my ipod, and formatted. That wiped my ipod so when I connected to itunes it then gave me a restore option. I did the restore and all is good in the empire again. I can now buy new music and sync my ipod so I am a happy camper.
    Thanks to all.

  • How do I stream Vimeo videos with the YouTube widget?

    I am having trouble streaming a Vimeo video with the YouTube widget in Captivate 7. The Vimeo video is: http://vimeo.com/24270413#at=0
    When I test it in Captivate it comes up with an error message. Does the Vimeo address need to be amended in any way to work with the YouTube widget?
    I have no problem with YouTube videos but Vimeo is causing me problems.
    Thanks

    I think you will have the same problem, i've tried to insert vimeo videos as well using the Web Object interaction in Captivate and they don't load...

    Thanks for answering..

    Hi MyAppleID99,
    You may want to check to make sure the clip hasn't been moved back and forth between wide screen and standard aspect ratios; sometimes a combination of letterboxing and pillarboxing can lead to a black frame "windowbox" when playing the final video. You may find the following article helpful:

  • Insert video that is not hosted by YouTube or Vimeo

    Is it possible to insert videos in Muse that reside only on my own server, and are not hosted by anyone else such as YouTube or Vimeo? My client's videos are proprietary and they only want them to be seen on the site I'm building for them.
    Thanks.

    Yes, you can upload your own videos and link them to your site page.
