Importing files, audio not rendered

Hi, I am new to final cut. I am in the middle of something and need a hand. I have footage that was captured with imovie that I want in my final cut project. I open the package content of the imovie project, made an alias of the media folder and placed it on desktop so when I was in final cut and went to import files I could select the ones i NEEDED. However, and its not only with the imovie files but all video files in general is that k, when I double click and view in my edit monitor, there is audio, when I drag the clip into the timeline, I get the red line at top and beep noise cause my audio is unrendered. Any help with this work around or am i FORCED to work with imovie on this one. Cause there is alot of pffotage and I bet rendered this much footage would take along time. Thanks

Well, I tried what you said but no go. Basically what I did to was I astarte a whole new project with nothing imported from a camera or anything. I then went to import, files, clicked a the quicktime dv file. it added it ot my project folder. I then double clicked it, pressed play, audio there, then brought it into the timeline, render bar still there. So I am not suer what the problem is here. as I said before, this happens to any file that is quicktime or avi, etc. why does it want to render the audio so bad, why wouldn't it just play it in the time line like it does in the editor panel

  • Error During Import: File Could Not Be Imported

I am trying to load some .AVI movies from my digital camera into iMovie; most of them will, but 1 or 2 for some reason will not. I have played some of these videos on my old G3, which I replaced with this new computer; most loaded in OK.
The clips that won't load look smaller than the others when playing (don't know why). I played the movies and converted them to Quicktime again in MPEG Streamclip and they played fine (also in VLC PLayer, FWIW).
I am getting this error message: Error during Import: File Could Not Be Imported.
Also, I am trying to change the orientation of one clip that I inadvertently shot sideways; I did this in Bitlist but it won't load now into iMovie. Is there away to change the orientation in Quicktime (I'm not buying QT pro) or another free converter that will work?
    Thanks in advance...

    try to ...
    * open the avi/mpegs in Streamclip
    * choose 'DV stream' as export option
    * in the 'DV stream' dialog, you're offered the option 'turn'.. rotate in the wanted direction and choose '75%' size to get all into the video...

  • Audio not rendered - but when I tell FCE to render it, nothing happens

When I pull in some DV files, FCE shows my audio as not rendered, with that red line. So I tell it to render it, and nothing happens. I get a very brief flash of the rendering progress bar, the red line disappears, but the audio remains unrendered because when you play it you get silence (I have turned off the annoying "beeping").
Even if I save the project, or quit and restart, or tell FCE to render everything, my audio remains stubbornly unrendered.
    Any suggestions?

Hey, I had the same thing happen to me. I'm not sure if this is the best answer, but in order to get it to render, i had to select the audio in the timeline and in the menu, i select Render Only --> Needs Render. That worked for me. Hopefully that will solve your problem too. Good luck!

  • Imported files do not show up in the project menu

When I import files into a new folder I cannot locate them in the project menu. The files do not have a project path. They show up in the "last import" section though. What's wrong?

You cannot import files into an Aperture Folder.  Folders hold containers (Folders, Projects, and Albums); they do not hold Images that are not in another container.  Projects and Albums hold Images.
Right-click one of the Images shown in the "Last Import" Browser, and select "Show in Project" from the context menu.  This should make that Project the active one, and show you which one it is by selecting it on the Library tab of the Inspector.

  • FLV source file audio not importing?

I use Adobe Connect to record online class session.
I then convert the recordings to FLV files.
I can play the FLV file using Real Player - video and audio are great.
However, I would like to convert the FLV file to H264 (MP4), which is easier for my students to use.
When I import the FLV source into Adobe Media Encoder, source info says there is no audio file.
I converted the video anyways, and video is great, but of course there is no audio.
    What am I missing?

    Thomas,
Sorry for the delayed thanks on the reply.
Yes Connect does offer MP4 recording conversion, but it is an expensive add-on.  Guess I will make do with what the flv file.

  • Imported Reason audio not syncing with GB metronome

I'm working on a project in GarageBand that is built around a piano part that was exported from Reason. The Reason audio track is 128 BPM, so I created a GarageBand project that was the same tempo. The piano slows down at the very end of the song, so I set up the automator to adjust the GB tempo at the end. When I started recording other instruments, I noticed that the metronome was slightly off -- it starts out in sync, but the further along I get into the song the more out of sync it becomes (way before the tempo change at the end). I made the mistake of simply turning off the metronome and playing along with the piano track. Now I'm trying to add in some drum loops and the result has been disastrous.
So, what gives? Why aren't they in sync? Is there anything I can do about it? I'd rather not have to go back and re-record all of my instruments if that's possible to avoid.
    Thanks.

After importing the GarageBand file into Logic I found that GarageBand for some reason had the the time signature changing slowly over time rather than instantly at the correct measure.

  • Audio not rendering in FCP 5.0.1

I'm not able to render any audio in the Timeline. The clips are brought in as QT files (not captured). When trying to audio render as is, the audio render window quickly flashes w/no change in render status. (line at top remains red). Video renders OK, but even de-linking the audio isn't working. When attempting to Export (hoping audio will render then) I get "General Error -36" I was able to render one audio clip by de-linking ONCE, but that doesn't work either. If there was a patch/fix placed online pls advise.
    Thanks!

I am also having a similar problem. While things were working fine for awhile, I tried to add a new audio track and now nothing will render. It flashes as if it will render and then disappears without anything. Ive tried exporting the project as a .mov and re-opening in a new sequence, but even there the audio is causing a need to be rendered. Ive switched music files into aiff form, and done everything else I could think of.. as well as looking on forums for hours. If you have any suggestions, that would be fantastic.
    Thanks

  • Audio not rendering properly

I am experience some strange audio issues, I have not changed any settings but for the last few exports the audio got all screwed up especially when exporting either via compressor or Quick time. I have a AUparametricEQ filter on my audio and it worked fine in the past but now when exporting the video with the audio the audio is all mumbled, it takes audio from earlier in the track or it goes back and forth at one note. The audio normally plays fine when just playing back in Final cut. Even though yesterday it also got messed up when playing back, I took the Filter of and reapplied the filter on the spot which played back bad and it was fine. It usually happens when final cut renders in the background and the files have the light blue strip on the top which i never really saw.
any idea what the issue can be. As said earlier i have not changed any settings also i was using the filrer in the past all the time and no problems .

  • Audio not rendering

Using Final Cut Pro 4.5, and a lot of the time the audio simply refuses to render. A render box will pop up on the screen for a split second and then disappear.
I thought I was using the wrong render option, but I tried a whole stack and nothing worked. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way around it?

sometimes the audio does not render in fcp if it's an mpeg. i noticed that with my fcp. i always use a wav. or aif. file to use music and it renders find. or you can convert it in soundtrack pro (if u have this software or another audio software to do this).

  • Half of my imported files do not import the entire file?

I recently shot some high speed video using 2 Phantom high speed cameras. After converting the clips form their raw format to AVIs at 5 fps, I imported them into Premiere Pro CS5 to put together a side by side comparison. All of the AVIs imported into Premiere, however approx. half of the clips didn't fully import. For example a clip that is supposed to be 01:09:24:13 is coming in at 00:00:28:27. It's not a random compression, because when I compare the clip playback in premiere it does indeed represent the first 28 seconds of the AVI. I tried converting the files again in the Phantom software. One of the clips I was able to import and get the entire clip, however subsequent attempts for the others has not achieved the same result. I even attempted to import the clips into Premiere Pro CS3 on another workstation with the same results.
If anyone has seen a problem similar to this, a work around or a fix would be greatly appreciated, I'm on the clock on this one.

    Welcome to the forum.
Though with different file types, I have encountered similar - file Duration is mis-read in PrPro. Obviously, something in that/those file(s) header is being missed by PrPro. I have yet to find out what. As per your case, it seems to be with random files from what should otherwise be a simple group of the same file types, with the same exact conversion settings.
In my case, I get handed a lot of different file formats, and just use a conversion program to get those to DV-AVI (in my case) for SD Projects. Often, I will have a situation, rather like yours, where I will have 5 files, whose specs. all match up (same camera and settings in your case), and the conversion will be batched, and all resultant files identical. From time to time, one of those converted files will exhibit the same characteristics, as you observe. VLC, or other players, will see the full Duration, as will G-Spot, or MediaInfo. However, PrPro is missing something in that one file, and the Duration is heavily truncated, just as has happened to you. Quite by accident, I found that my PremiereElements program had no such issues with the "bad" file. It would Import and see the correct Duration, where PrPro could not. I just Imported, dragged to the Timeline, and then Exported to the same exact file settings, DV-AVI. The resulting file was identical to the problem DV-AVI that I had Imported. G-Spot and MediaInfo say it exactly the same. Various file "comparisson" programs could find no differnces between the two files, yet PrPro now saw the Duration correctly. I only wish that I could tell what went wrong, regarding the Duration in the originally converted file, and then the one that I just Imported and Exported from PrE, but I have never found the difference. I have opened the files in hex-editors, and gone line by line, and cannot find anything different between the two - but something IS different.
While I have no fix for you, I can add slight comfort by saying, "I've seen very similar, and in similar cases - conversion." My "workaround" involves some extra steps (plus an extra Export), in another Adobe program (in my case), so is not ideal. However, now that I know to be on the lookout for the possibility, I just watch those Durations closely, knowing that I might need to work on one, or more, of those files, to get PrPro to see the proper Duration.
Good luck, and maybe someone can offer us both a totally fail-safe method.
    Hunt
PS - I have encountered this with my old-fav, and generally flawless DigitalMedia Converter 2.7, plus several other highly recommended conversion progams, so it does not seem specific to any one conversion program.

  • Imported files are not saving in Library

When I import a video from a tape or a file based camera the files aren't saved properly.

Can you be more specific?  What do you mean, "aren't saved properly"?  How are they being saved?

  • Extracted Audio Not Rendering?

I use Premiere Pro in conjunction with Audition for making videos on my YouTube channel. Recently, I have tried to render videos and all the audio that I have right-clicked and hit "Edit in Adobe Audition", then edited, is rendering as silence. It all plays back perfectly, with the effects in the timeline, but when I render, there's nothing. I'm using the same preset as I always do and has worked before, but to no avail. If I don't edit the clip in Audition, it renders fine, but if I do, there's just silence. I'm rendering in .mp4 in 1280x720 and have plenty of hard drive space, and like I said, I'm using the same preset, so I don't know what is wrong. I've been researching for a few days now and haven't found anything. Thanks for the help!

Under the Sequence menu, make sure all the appropriate render types are checked.

  • After clicking render, files are NOT rendered

This may be a two part question, but I think the problems are related:
My scratch disk is set to my external hard drive, but the render files somehow have started going to my laptop. I had to move the files over to my external hard drive and delete them from the laptop because I didn't have much room left.
Now some songs that were on the timeline won't render. I reconnect the media, then click render. The render dialogue box flashes, but it doesn't render the files.
So, 1. Why aren't my render files going to my external hard drive and
    2. Why aren't the files rendering?
    Any help is much appreciated!

It depends on what type of rendering you need. In the render submenus, be sure there's a check mark next to the render type that matches the colored render bar atop the sequence.
As for why your render files aren't going to where you specified, at least double-check your scratch disk settings.

  • Important file, can not find anywhere

    Hello
I was using this file 2 nights ago and I went to use it tonight and it has disapeared.  I have tried to find in finder (magnifying glass) and opened up trash and files that I have intentionally deleted recently are not there.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Are you sure it was saved?
What kind of file was it?

  • Avi file - audio not syncing

In Windows Media Player, an avi movie plays as it should, but in Quick Time Pro the sound starts to un-sync about half way through the movie. i.e. The people's lips don't sync with their voices anymore. The first half plays fine, though. What's up with that?
