Importing from Data Disc

How do I take a data disc that has multiple albums on it and import the songs into my itunes library? If I drag and drop into the library in itunes only the song lists transfers over and if I drop it into the itunes music folder on my hard drive the song list does not show up in itunes unless I highlight each song and play it. Please Help?

So you are saying that is has to be a two step process. First I copy all the files over and then add the song list to itunes by pointing itunes to the updated folder.
Since itunes is already pointing to this folder for my existing music will those songs now show twice?

Comments not imported from Data Dictionary of SQL Server. SDDM 3.3.0.747

SDDM 3.3.0.747 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit.
Comments are not imported from Data Dictionary of SQL Server 2008. Connection through Microsoft JDBC Driver 4.0 for SQL Server or jTDS 1.2.7
What I have tried? In SDDM DDL generation, Comments in DBRMS for SQL Server are generated with "EXEC sp_addextendedproperty 'MS_Description' , 'Test Comment' ..." so I added extended property named "MS_Description" into SQL Server database, both on table and column. None of them were imported from Data Dictionary into SSDM. I have tried both drivers stated above. Is it a bug or am I missing something?
I've found similar question thread Re: Data dictionary import doesn't import column comments for SDDM 3.0.0.665, so I guess it is a bug when importing with JDBC drivers.

Extended properties were not imported correctly from SQLServer databases at DM 3.3.0.747.
Calls to sp_addextendedproperty and fn_listextendedproperty have been modified.
I don't think it is a problem with JDBC drivers.
A bug fix should be available in the next release of DM.

SQL modeler can not import from data dictionary

It was very frustruted to see that the SQL Modeler hang in import from data dictionary of a database as part of revise engineering. I have to question myself if sql modeler is a serious tool and should I give up.

I am not sure if Data Modeller is still in Beta./Production. First couple off initial versions of a new product are normally buggy.

Alternatively, If this product is still in Beta, then you can contact the development team or report the issue so that they can take care of this issue in next beta release.

Cannot Import from Data CD

Hey everyone - I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere else. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Right before my computer crashed a few months ago, I made a data disc (DVD) of all of my iTunes music. I imported about 160 of the songs onto my new computer, and set the DVD down to finish later. Now for the past couple weeks as I've tried to return to the task, for some reason, it's not letting me import the songs. They are recognized by Explorer as iTunes format, but when I drag them to my library, nothing happens. When I tried "Adding Folder to Library," it just resulted in duplicates being made of the 160 songs that I had already imported, but no additional ones. I also get an error message whenever I insert my DVD: "An unknown error has occured (-50)" - a puzzling error message because a google search for this error turns up little, and what it does turn up has to do with MacAfee, which I don't have, and includes extra language. Below is the CD diagnostic from iTunes.

Copying to C and then over to the library is the method I used a couple months ago to successfully transfer the first 200 or so songs, but, it was to no avail this time. They're on my computer, but nothing can seem to play them (despite seemingly having all the necessary properties). My guess is some sort of encryption kicked in for some reason, and I have absolutely no idea how to get rid of it.
Importing ten by ten, one by one, all have the same result - absolutely nothing happening.
I tried it on a different computer, and it produced the same exact result as this one, further suggesting that it has to do with the files (weird encryption maybe?)
Any ideas??? It's driving me crazy

Importing a data disc with mP3's to iTunes

I created several data discs of mP3's when I had my computer worked on and the hard drive reprogrammed. I can play the cd's that i made in a Bose audio system that plays mP3's. Does anyone know how I can import those songs from that disc. I tried going to import and choose the folder but the file format .mP3 is not there for me to choose. Help!

Select schemas from relational model on import from data dictionary option

Hi All,
I have one relational model with 3 diferent schemas,
I want to compare one of my schemas with the data dictionary I have in a database,
I select the import option in the general file menu, select from data dictionary option,
select the connection from my database,swap target model checked,select a physical model and select the objects i want to compare from the database,
My problem is that the result is the comparison between all the objects in my model and the objects in the database that I have selected,
what I really want is to compare a list of objects in my model to a list of objects in my database,
this could be possible? or always need to compare all the objects of the model?

Hi jbellver,
there is no any development in DM 3.1.0.691 on that problem. In production release you'll be able to compare objects in subview with database or just to select several objects and compare them with database. And of course "generate in DDl" filtering still can be used - it works at "Compare dialog" level.

Cannot import from DVD disc

I have recorded a 3 minute segment of a newscast using my DVD recorder - it contains video of a close friend of mine. I have a DVD disc which I burned on the DVD recorder from its Hard Drive containing only this short video which I want to give to him. I have tried to import it into iMovie so that I will have it on my iMac as a backup file but have been unsuccessful. I have tried following the procedure posted by "Appleman1958" in Dec 09 with no success - I know that he indicates that it is for iMovie 09 and perhaps that is my problem since I am working with iMovie HD 6. All I get is a 32 sec portion of the video with no sound. The VIDEO_TS folder on the DVD disc contains the following files: VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.VOB (it appears to be the title menu created by the DVD recorder but has nothing listed on it), VTS010.1F0, VIDEO_TS.1F0, VTS01O.BUP and VTSO11.VOB. I tried dragging ONLY the VIDEO_TS.VOB file onto mpeg streamclip as per the instructions ("drag the non-zero .VOB files and drop them into MPEG Streamclip) but it is only the title menu and there is no video. I tried adding the VTS011.VOB also but again only about 32 sec appears and there is no sound. Sorry, but I am a complete novice at this, do not understand what a VIDEO_TS folder is and what all those files within it mean and need some help here. And yes, I have purchased the Apple MPEG2 QT Component. Any simple, step-wise assistance would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Keep getting "required file in use" error when importing from a disc

Installed 12.0.1 this weekend and now cannot import songs from a disc (have tried on several different discs). I keep getting the error message that "Error occurred while converting the file. The required file is in use). Have rebooted several times with no improvement. There doesn't seem to be any problem playing anything off my existing library, but I also get failure messages when purchasing from Amazon. Anyone have ideas?

Any Suggestions?

Trouble Importing from Hard Disc Cam

Hi All,
I am using the trial version of CS4. I moved the .mpg files from my cheap hard disc Sony DCR-SX41 camera onto my hard drive, When I try to import them in the media browser I get a message saying that the files are not supported. I set up my project as DV widescreen. What am I doing wrong?
BTW- when I click on the .mpg files from my hard drive they play fine.

Google is your friend. Search for a converter that will convert MPEG to DV AVI type2, but be aware that editing DV material is easy for the PC, even on a 5 year old one. Editing MPEG is much more strenuous, especially if it is a HD variant. Converting the material will give you no indication at all if your PC is up to the task. To really try whether your Alienware will work with your material, buy the full version and if you don't like it, use the 30 day refund period.

No .MTS-import from hard disc

as a newcomer on FCPX (10.0.5) I wonder why the software does not let me import all .MTS-files from AVCHD videos. Using memory cards e.g. of 8 and 16GB FCPX recognizes all clips on there automaticly and imports them with no problem at all. Same stuff taken from 32GB memory or even worse from HARDDISC all clips are getting rejected. Unfortunately most of my clips have been taken over to harddisc already. I would appreciate your answer(s)

I could not get FCPX to create a camera archive of footage on my Sony Handycam but I could make a disc image of the footage and then FCPX could read the disk image as a camera; I could import files into events and edit them in my projects. Quality of the video is thereby preserved.

Importing from backup disc to i tunes

i recently used back up discs to load music to i tunes this it did but now when i try to add artwork to albums the info page is in ghost form and will not allow me to add art work, im using windows 7

That "ghost" (grayed-out) effect means that the file is set for Read Only, which is sometimes the case when files are copied directly from CD. To change the file permissions, right-click in iTunes and Show in Explorer. When you see the file in its folder, right-click it, Properties, uncheck "Read Only," and OK out.

Error when importing from Data Feeds

When I go through the import everything seems to be fine: it successfully connects to the report/data feed, it lets me preview and filter tablix displaying information, but when I click Finish, it throws the error on import.
What could it be? I have configured credentials and Proxy in SQL Server Agent.

Importing from Backup Disc

I have had the unfortunate experience of having my boot drive crash in my Mac Pro. Fortunately I had all my photos (+10k) backed up to an external drive. Now the question becomes: 1. How do I get the photos back into lightroom? I thought I had backed up my LR cat, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I re-installed LR 3 and the latest (3.3) update 2. Do I need to first copy the pictures to the boot drive before I import them into LR?

First, make sure you really don't have a backup of your catalog somewhere. Because with a re-import, you'll loose all your metadata and develop settings on your pictures, unless you wrote metadata to files and have those XMP files on your backup also.
If you then decide you absolutely HAVE to re-import, there's no need to copy the images to your local drive first, you can
Import them from the external HD and copy them to your internal drive during the operation (action on import is COPY)
Import them from your external drive and leave them there, just registering the location in LR (action on import is ADD)
When using the latter option, you'll only have one copy of your originals though.

When you restore from a Time Machine back up, you can tell it to not transfer folders like Desktop, Documents. Downloads, Movies, Music, Pictures and Public. Take a look at the article below for the steps to restore from your back up.
