Importing Fuji X1 Pro files

Since the raw files from this camera are not jet supported, I'm shooting RAW+jpeg but sometime, randomly, I encounter errors when imprting from the SD card into LR4, and I have been facing the following different scenarios:
a- the raw files thumbnails only are shown in the import panel but then nothing is being imported
b- both the thumbnails, raw and jpeg, are shown but nothing is bein imported
c- the jpeg thumbnails are shown together with dummy thumbnails for the raw's and the jpeg's only are imported (as it should be, I believe)
under case a- I have tried to copy all the files into the HD and then import from there unsuccesfully
I have repeated the same operation with the same SD card and the same files the day after and everything was fine (as per case -c)
Al the above happened to me (and I understand also to other users) several times with different cards and computers.

A small addition to the above.
Same card, same files, same computer (MBP with Lion): LR4 is unable to see the jpeg files on the card, LR3 see them perfectly.

  • How do I import a Premiere Pro file into After Effects

So I'm an editor, I cut trailers and TV spots. I enjoy making my title cards on After Effects because it gives me a lot of options but I'm having difficulty. How do I import / edit a Premiere Pro file into After Effects? I imported the project file but the whole thing was a mess and nothing made sense. Can anyone explain this process to me?
By the way I used CS5.5 versions of the software.

It actually works better if you go the other way... link an AE comp into your Premiere project.
Create and link to After Effects compositions with Dynamic Link

  • How do I import Fuji X-E2 files in Lr 5.3?

I'm using Lightroom 5.3, Camera Raw 8.3. Yesterday, I was able to import Fujifilm X-E2 files into Lr 5.3. But today (01.01.2014) I get the error message that the files cannot be read. Please help.

This usually means you do not have Write permission to the destination folder where the files are to be copied. Please check the permissions on that folder and if necessary change the permissions to write permission.

  • Import fuji raw files

Is there any way for Aperture 3 to import Fuji RAW files?  Lightroom does.

X1 Pro - RAW not yet supported.  Understand it takes a little while as it's a new sensor type but Lightroom has caught up now and Aperture is supposed to be a serious photographers' tool; just as the Mac has always been a serious photographer's computer.

  • Error messages during XML import of Project Pro 2010 files

    Hi folks,
I'm trying to diagnose a couple of sick Project Pro 2010 files loaded from Project Server by saving them locally as XML files and then reimporting (not connected to the server during import).  The anomalous behavior exhibited by both files
is that one takes 15 minutes to load from the server, while another takes over 20 minutes. These are not typical load times for this server.  In both cases, Project consumes about 25% of the CPU during the load process. There's little network I/O
while this goes on, and when externally linked schedules are loaded to the cache, they load very quickly.  Other than the long load times, the schedules appear to be behave normally, except for some very odd print preview behaviors in one of the schedules
that I asked about in a different thread (among other things, the default print preview start date is 17 years after the default finish date, and the finish date is about 11 years before the schedule actually starts).
The questions I'm asking here are about errors I see when I try to import the files exported as XML, and whether they might provide any clues as to what's causing the load time issues.
When attempting to import one of the files saved as XML, a pop-up appears that says, "The actual finish date is before some of the previously entered timephased actual work values. If  you continue with this operation, Project will truncate
some of the previously entered timephased actual work values. To continue, click OK..."
When attempting to import the other file saved as XML, I get a series of pop-ups identifying a series of tasks that say, "The timephased edit will cause 'Develop Requirements Review Meeting Mi...' to start before 'Conduct Requirements Review"
finishes.  As a result the task link cannot be honored.  You can: () Continue. Keep the timephased edit and ignore the link.  () Cancel. Ignore the timephased edit.  (OK/Cancel/Help)".
Interestingly, both files contain external Project Server predecessor / successor links.  In the case of the first file, the XML import just appears to strip those out.  In the case of the second file, I get a long series of pop-ups (with
some buggy text inserts) in pairs.  The first message in the pair is typically "An import error occurred.  The element <PredecessorLink> in the <Task> element with <UID>=611 has invalid data.  Verify that the file
name and path are correct, and then try again. (OK)", where the indicated UID varies. The second pop-up in the pair appears to have a buggy text constructor and looks like this, with "[stet]" indicating the apparent buggy text inserts,
"An import error occurred.  The element [stet] Verify that the file name and path are correct, and then try again. [stet] in the 309 element with <UID>=7 has invalid data. [stet] ^4 (OK)"
In the second pop-up of the pair, the "xyz element" varies, but the "<UID>=7" reference and "^4"  are consistent. In the XML, UID 7 appears to refer to a calendar, a task which includes a number
    of entries similar to:
    <TimephasedData>
    <Type>24</Type>
    <UID>7</UID>
    <Start>2014-10-03T08:00:00</Start>
    <Finish>2014-10-04T08:00:00</Finish>
    <Unit>2</Unit>
    <Value>PT8H0M0S</Value>
    </TimephasedData>
    ... and to an assignment:
    <Assignment>
    <UID>7</UID>
    <TaskUID>10</TaskUID>
    <ResourceUID>-65535</ResourceUID>
    <PercentWorkComplete>100</PercentWorkComplete>
    which includes blocks like:
    <TimephasedData>
    <Type>2</Type>
    <UID>7</UID>
    <Start>2014-10-17T08:00:00</Start>
    <Finish>2014-10-17T17:00:00</Finish>
    <Unit>2</Unit>
    <Value>PT8H0M0S</Value>
    </TimephasedData>
Eventually, the second file also does load with no external file links indicated.
Again, I'm just looking for anything that might be a clue to the long Project Server load times.
    Thanks in advance,
    LP

Slow performance can come from a number of different things. Without knowing more detailed information about your setup or workflow, it's difficult to accurately troubleshoot.
-What kind of Mac are you using?
    -What is your source format?
-Where is your source footage located?

  • Maximum file size for importing into Premiere Pro CS6

    Hi,
I'm considering recording raw video, no compression at 720p, 30 fps for 20-30 min.  This woudl result in a file that is close to 80 Gbytes.  I'm wondering what the maximum file size for importing into premiere Pro is and if I need to split this file up into smaller pieces.  Any recommendations on how I may deal with uncompressed raw video that is pretty long in length?
    Thanks,
    Serena

There is bound to be some limit somewhere in the program, but you should be well below that. The biggest issue might be whether your computer is up to the task of handling it. If you will post your computer specs., someone will give you comments on that aspect.
    Good luck,

  • How to Import AVCHD 1080/60p Files into Final Cut Pro 7?

How do I import AVCHD 1080 / 60p Files into Final Cut Pro 7? And if there is no direct way [I certainly haven't found one, but I'm no expert], what additional software would be used? I want to import the files from a Panasonic HDC-HS700 onto an Intel Mac laptop [Mac OSX 10.5.8]? Obviously I don't want to compress & compromise my footage.
I’m sure a simple, straightforward series of steps would help many people with this issue.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the response!
I'm guessing you've found ClipWrap2 to be better than competing products [such as AVCHD Converter for Mac, Toast Titanium, or Voltaic].
On to the next steps. Using Clipwrap2, would I leave the checkbox "Convert Audio to LPCM" selected or deselected [and what the heck is LPCM?]. In the pulldown menu would I choose "Rewrap (Don't alter video samples)" or do I save a step by choosing "Apple ProRes 422"?
And finally, am I gaining anything by shooting 1080/60p on this Panasonic HD Camera other than a headache? [Some have suggested this is not a True 60p.]

  • Why do the MP4 files that I import to Premiere Pro CC have unsynced audio? (Resolved)

I have identified and resolved.the issue. There is a bug with how Premeire Pro handles importing videos with variable frame rate.
Community Memeber Walter.Johnson found a work-around at the bottum of this post, which also has the identification and submission of the bug itself:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1110005?start=40&tstart=0
I had to convert the video with "constant framerate" selected in handbrake. I'm believe the ffmpeg CLI equivilant switch is "-cfr" but I have not tested to be sure.
I can now import videos with synced audio!
I have recorded several hours of footage using a program called XSplit (a screen recording tool).
The files are recorded in a FLV format and I then convert them to MP4 as premiere pro cant read then in FLV.
In a MP4 format I can import the files into Premiere Pro CC and the video looks perfect, but the audio is unsynced. It is also unsynced in non-linear way so it is not something that I can simply unlink and adjust to compensate as it would have to be done manually every minute.
If I import these same MP4s into other video editing programs they import perfectly fine and have no audio sync issues what-so-ever. I only experience this issue in Premeire Pro CC. I can even tested these videos in 6 different media players and they play perfecly fine.
If I convert the files to AVI using ffmpeg or ffmpeg assisted tools it will not import into Premiere Pro CC and gives a "unsupported format or damaged file" error. Once again, this avi can be played and edited in several other programs no problem.
Here are the details about one of these files:
    VIdeo Codec: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC
    Video: 1280x720
Audio Codec: mp4a: MPEG-4 ACC LC
    Audio: 44100hz 63 kb/s tot , stereo (2/0)
Anyone have any ideas on why the audio is becomming de-synced in Premiere Pro CC only?

I'm happy to announce to you all that my "mp4 importing" issues has been sorted out. Now I import mp4 shot with the same Windows Phone 8 Device into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Only that for the moment, it doesn't play as fast as with ordinary player.
    But how did I get it to work, you may wonder;
I simply installed Itunes on the system, I also installed an app called media monkey. I can't say which of the apps did the magic but the next time I tried to import mp4 files into Premiere Pro after these installations, it imported seamlessly.
Obviously there's a link between the required codecs and the itunes itself.
You may want to try it and hope it works for you.
Kindly inform us if it works.
    Thank you all.
    Cheers.

  • What is THE best video file format to import into Premiere Pro CS6?

What is THE best video file format to import into Premiere Pro CS6? I am tired of the guess work of "this might work if you do this." Just tell me which is, flat out, the easiest for Premiere to read?? I generally animate in Adobe Flash, and some times with a Live camera. Premiere seems to pick and choose which video file it wants. I import from the File drop down box in the upper left hand corner, then move the video file to timeline. Under the "scrubber" there is a thin red, (or when rendered) a green line. The videos I put in the timeline show a thin yellow line which means Premiere is confused. So, in basic terms, which video format is MOST commonly accepted with the least amount of trouble/hassle?

Premiere has a function now where you can import a clip and drag onto a timeline and it will prompt you with a message about changing the timeline settings to match your clip, (or if there is no timeline it will automatically create one that matches your clip.) This is in CC of course so you might consider upgrading. They have fixed a lot of compatibility issues from CS6 to now. If you don't want to get all of CC for 60/month then you can at least shell out 20/month on premiere. It's worth it. They've made it where you don't have to worry about 99% of all video formats. They just work.

  • Fuji X-Pro 1 Raw file processing updated in 4.2?

With the release of 4.2 now supporting Fuji X-E1, does anyone know if this update fixes Fuji X-Pro 1 raw files?

I come across these sorts of post all the time while searching up information on a particular subject. You get some big shot in the community throwing a non-helpful reply out there.
The big shot with their non-helpful reply always seemed a bit… I don’t know, careless, smug. A lot of times I’m trying to research a subject and the reply comes across a lot like, well, I know it and so should you. Not always the case though. (In my job I’m asked a lot of simple questions, what I consider obvious. Things that are in the manual. I never brush people off so hastily though. I sit and help them because I don’t know… that seems like the proper thing to do)
Perhaps it’s just me, that I don’t think it’s appropriate to just brush someone off so easily. Perhaps it’s in my nature to put a thoughtful reply up. That even if I don’t fully understand the subject, I’d take the time to do a little research and see what I can find to help someone. I don’t subscribe to the mentality of just telling someone to “Google it”. I understand that Ian didn’t tell OP to google it, but I feel his replies are based in that same mind set.
It’s not just about brushing people off because they ask a question you feel they can answer themselves. I understand there’s a lot of information out there to those that know how to seek it. Not everyone does though and it’s wrong to assume as such. It’s better as a community to help people, even if their questions seem straight forward.
All I’ve found concerning raw files for the X-E1 so far are lab pictures. They don’t really correlate that well to real world performance and images. Though they may exhibit some of the problems, it doesn’t feel like I’m getting a clear image of the situation. Most of the threads I’ve found on the subject only have one image propped up as an example (Typically an image I don’t consider to be all that well shot, so what I can judge from it is still debatable)
Plus, I’d want other people’s experiences. Especially as a potential owner. I can only gather so much from a few sparse raw files.
Lastly, I’m not in a position at the moment to download random raw files and put them through lightroom. Even if I have a few moments to share, I’m not at a computer where I have access to lightroom/can install lightroom trial. This will change, in time, obviously, but at the moment this is the spot I’m in.
Sometimes there are problems like this, but at some point they get fixed. It can be difficult to sort through months of post of people complaining before you find the post where they say it’s fixed. People tend to quiet down after problems are fixed, so mostly what you still come across is the hordes of people that complained about it being broken.
Dog me if you’d like over the fact that I replied to a post that was a few months old. I don’t care. Obviously it reached someone.
P.S. Sometimes it’s really nice to talk to another human being when you have a problem or question. I think a lot of people are conditioned to do that. Questions may not always be necessary, but that doesn’t mean they should be shrugged off. There was a time where we didn’t have this magical land of porn and cat photos and in those days it was quite acceptable to ask each other questions, even on simple subjects.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 Does Not Import Panasonic GH4 Spanned Files as a Single Clip

Premier Pro CC 2014 does not import Panasonic GH4 spanned files as a single clip. I have made a short video that shows the problem with the GH4 footage and it show how the Canon XA-10 footage imports correctly.
Is this a known problem? Am I doing something wrong? It makes the Master Clip Effects in Premier Pro useless because every spanning fragment is turned into a master clip.
    Problem demonstration video: http://screencast.com/t/03wzQoxAUXAQ

    Jim,
I've looked up all sorts of MP4/MOV comparisons on the web ... most conclude that mov is perhaps a bit "safer" on an Apple OS and mp4 "safer" on a PC and non-Apple "devices", but generally list the contents of the two as being nearly indistinguishable. I do realize the Qt has had ... issues ... within the Adobe programs, especially on PC's.
You have any other good info? Always looking to learn from the more experienced ...
