Importing Healthy Living Demo data

Hi
I'm trying to install the Forms6i demo - "Healthy Living Application".
I've managed to install the s/w forms6i, Oracle 8i(8.1.6) and WebDB 2.2 all on an NT machine. However I seem to be having problems when trying to import the "koowdev.dmp" file with IMP-0008 corruption errors using imp80.exe
Any pointers ??
My oracle homes are defined
d:\orant - (default) for forms/reports/WebDB
d:\orant\ora8i - database, SID=ora8i
Also what exact entries did you set up in your TNSNAME files??
Cheers Ade

William,
You should use the zip files (and tutorial guides) under Oacle9iAS Portal 1.0.2.2 (Release 3.0.9) Hands On Exercises. The demo has been updated since the healthy living days. I've notified the doc folks so they can remove the reference to healthy living.
Good luck!

  • Cannot access healthy living demo

    Hi,
We'd like to access 9i "health living" demo under
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/products/forms/index9i.html
From one PC we got "the java RTE cannot be loaded from <\bin\hotspot\vm.dll>.
From another PC we got "Applet leelouviewlwt loaded" and then the screen hung.
    What is the problem?
Thanks in advance for any helps.

  • Healthy Living Username and Password

What is the username, password and DSN for the Healthy Living demo? I have looked everywhere and searched this forum numerous times and I am still unable to find it.
When i run the demo it prompts me for the password for the user hl on the database ORCL. Is this the correct username and database?
    Thanks
    Cory
    Running
    Oracle9iDS version 9.0.2.9.0
    Windows 2000 Pro

Do you mean that you downloaded and installed the Healthy Living demo? Wasn't there a readme file or something that contained this information.
Usually, the database username and password is hl/hl. The database connect string is whatever you made it. By default, the Oracle database uses ORCL as the default database name.
In the application itself, you can logon as sportek/sportek. But if you logon as another user, it will create it for you dynamically, so you can use any username you like in the application itself.

  • Pro Oracle Spatial Demo Data Import Errors

Just seeing if anyone else has experienced this. I am trying to install the Demo data from the book, and all of the import files fail and I get the following error:

the database version I am using is 9.2 I know its not the latest and greates, but I cant imagine the import tool would be different based on a newer version. If so any clue on how I upgrade the import??

  • Issues in setting up demo data for MapViewer 10.1.3.1

    Hi,
I downloaded the MapViewer Quick Start Kit from
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/mapviewer/index.html
I also downloaded the Demo Data set.
I started the OC4J instance and able to view the MapViewer admin page.
I created the mvdemo user as per the script given below in readme.txt
    grant connect, resource, create view to mvdemo identified by mvdemo;
When I tried to run the other scripts from the Demo Data set as per the readme.txt, I found that few of the tables/view were not existing. Few of them are
    terr_counties
    TERRITORIES
    CITIES
    INTERSTATES
    COUNTIES
    STATES
I am not sure whether I need to run someother scripts before running this one. I am using Oracle 10 g Enterprise Edition.
It would be helpful if someone could guide me on missing scripts if any
    Thanks and Regards,
    James

    Hi James,
it seems that the tables were not imported. After you grant privileges to the user, you need to import the tables. Verify if you have executed this command:
    imp mvdemo/mvdemo file=mvdemo.dmp full=y ignore=y

    Hi,
There is a set of objects in business content (check under SAP DEMO in business content). You can activate some or all of these demo objects (for example demo cubes).
There are programs which you can then execute to create the datafiles which can then be loaded to these demo cubes.
" Start report RSO_BC_FILES_IN_BDS (Transaction SE 38), specify the required (Demo) InfoObject/InfoCube and choose the "Start BDN" button. The system will display all (generally one) CSV files which were supplied with the InfoObject/InfoCube. You can either export this CSV file into a local directory or you can write it directly onto the application server. For loading, proceed as described under section 1. " --- from OSS note 370397

  • Mapviewer topology demo data?

    Hello,
i just downloaded the new MapViewer, Map Builder & Quickstart 10.1.3.3 for WebLogic kit and noticed that there is no longer the topology demo data included, although there are some mapviewer demos that could use that data.
In my archive i found some older mapviewer release that includs the topology demo data set, but i've had troubles getting it imported (IMP-00067).
Is there some new release of the topology data that i can download?
    Thanks for help in advance,
    Dirk

In 10g, all demo programs are installed via separate companion CD. DM demo programs are part of the companion CD and you need to install the demos from there.

    Hi!
When I import photos with iPhoto, sometimes it imports them with wrong dates, even the dates are fine on the camera. It puts dates such as 2032. Does anyone know how can I fix that. As far as I know there is no way to change dates of the photos.
    Thanks!

well that is very confusing since if the date is correct on the camera it will be correct in iPhoto
    and as to
As far as I know there is no way to change dates of the photos.
Try looking through your iPhto menus - two commands - adjust time and date and batch change time and date - asjust is used to correct incorrect dates like a comera setting -   Batch change for missing dates like with scans

If you can use Data Pump, here are your commands:
    expdp table_owner/password directory=<your_directory> dumpfile=table_name.dmp tables=table_name content=data_only
    impdp table_owner/password directory=<your_directory> dumpfile=table_name.dmp tables=table_name table_exists_action=append

What you can do is open the Form's fmb code in Forms Developer IDE, or switch on session level or database level SQL_TRACE to see the SQL statements that the Form is firing to the database. (Find the tracefile in the udump folder). Replaying the SQL statements from the SQL trace file in e.g. SQL*Developer may lead to a cursor or block that e.g. does not return any rows. You may need to replace bind variables' placeholders (:a1 etc.) found in the trace file with the relevant business values for your items, zones, etc.
Good luck and let us know how you progress,

  • Writing a stored procedure to import SQL Server table data into a Oracle table

    Hello,
As a new DBA I have been tasked with writing a stored procedure to import SQL Server table data into an Oracle table. I have been given many suggestions on how to do it from SQL Server but I I just need to write a stored procedure to run it from the Oracle side. Suggestions/guidance on where to start would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
I started to write it based on what I have but I know this is not correct :/
    # Here is the select statement for the data source in SQL Server...
    SELECT COMPANY
    ,CUSTOMER
    ,TRANS_TYPE
    ,INVOICE
    ,TRANS_DATE
    ,STATUS
    ,TRAN_AMT
    ,CREDIT_AMT
    ,APPLD_AMT
    ,ADJ_AMT
    ,TRANS_USER1
    ,PROCESS_LEVEL
    ,DESCRIPTION
    ,DUE_DATE
    ,OUR_DATE
    ,OUR_TIME
    ,PROCESS_FLAG
    ,ERROR_DESCRIPTION
      FROM data_source_table_name
#It loads data into the table in Oracle....
    Insert into oracle_destination_table_name (
    COMPANY,
    CUSTOMER,
    TRANS_TYPE,
    INVOICE,
    TRANS_DATE,
    STATUS,
    TRANS_AMT,
    CREDIT_AMT,
    APPLD_AMT,
    ADJ_AMT,
    TRANS_USER1,
    PROCESS_LEVEL,
    DESCRIPTION,
    DUE_DATE,
    OUR_DATE,
    OUR_TIME,
    PROCESS_FLAG,
    ERROR_DESCRIPTION)
    END;

CREATE TABLE statements would have been better as MS-SQL and Oracle don't have the same data types.
OUR_DATE, OUR_TIME will (most likely) be ONE column in Oracle.
    DATABASE LINK
Personally, I'd just load the data over a database link:
    insert into oracle_destination_table_name ( <column list> )
    select ... <transform data here>
    from data_source_table@mssql_db_link
As far as creating the database link from Oracle to MS-SQL ... that is for somebody else to answer.
(most likely you'll need to use an ODBC driver)
    EXTERNAL TABLE
If the data from MS-SQL is in a CSV file, just use and external table.
    same concept:
    insert into oracle_destination_table_name ( <column list> )
    select ... <transform data here>
    from data_source_external_table
