Importing illustraitor to flash

Hello.
I'm trying to create a digital portfolio of my Design work in
Flash. I have designed a menu in illustaitor 10 with a background
image of a brick wall. Over this, the typography and buttons has
the transparency option 'overlay' applied, so it looks painted over
the brick wall. Sadly I haven't found a way to preserve this effect
in layers when importing. I have tried swf format which preseved
the layers but not the effect and wmf which preserved the effect
but not the layers. Is this possible? or is there a similar effect
in flash? Thanks very much.

Thanks for your reply. I figured it out, It just took some time. I have to
delete that post because it´s stupid.

actionscript in the imported swfs will not work and never did work in any
version of flash.  i don't know anything about flash studio so i can't
comment on how that worked.

  • Importing mp4 into Flash 8, converting to FLV

I just finished taking a Flash Video class where I understood
I could import an MP4 and convert in to an FLV using encoding tools
that come with Flash Professional 8. However, I opened a new FLA
just now and tried to import an MP4 (File -> Import Video),
Flash would not recognize the sample MP4 I have sitting on my
    desktop.
I downloaded a demo copy of On2 FlixPro and it did recognize
the MP4, is converting it to an FLV as I write this.
Did I misunderstand about importing MP4s into Flash 8
Professional? Is it in fact not possible. Or might there have been
something I didn't do or didn't do correctly before importing? If
so, what might it have been?
    Thanks in advance.

The MP4 file extension does not appear in the filetype
    filter of the
Import dialog, but if you select "All Files (*.*)," that
    should work. I've
imported MP4s (they're MPGs, after all), but the extension
    doesn't appear
under the "All Video Formats" choice. (I'm hoping this is
    what you mean by
    "would not recognize," anyway.)

  • Import pdf to flash?

    Hi,
I'm trying to get a flash flip book working and I'm trying a
few components - however none seem to be able to import pdf files
and so need either jpgs or swf files.
For my flipbook I need the text to be searchable, so jpg's
    out the window.
I've tried pdf2swf, but it's output seem pretty poor - the
swfs look fine when I view them, but when I import into flash the
text becomes really small and loses all it's formatting.
Is there any way to import a swf file to Flash and preserve
    it's formatting/layout? I don't know if it's something to do with
the swf file being broken into several layers on import?
Alternatively does anyone know a way to import pdfs to
    Flash?

pdf is not a supported file type in flash.

  • Can't import photos from flash drive

When I try to import photos from a flash drive, the images do not stay in the Library -- the next time I open iPhoto, I can see the photos but when I try to edit them, I get a screen prompt that the "source is unavailable - can't access the JPEG". To access the photo & edit I have to use the flash drive -- which kinda defeats the purpose of "importing" them in the first place. Why are the photos imported from my flash drive not staying in the Library? I have no problem importing images from digital camera -- those remain in the Library once imported. Please help!

Thanks! A quick review of Preferences revealed the "Copy imported items to Library" was indeed unchecked -- though I don't recall ever unchecking it (as I just started using iPhoto recently). But I have re-checked it and expect the problem to be fixed. Just one un-referenced Library will work just fine for me.

  • Need some advise for import video in Flash

Hi guys, i got a problem with importing video in Flash.
Actually I know how to import video in swf
    There are 3 ways;
    1. loading external video with playback component
    2. embed FLV in SWF
    3. URL
Ye i know second way is easy and fast but it needs to control everytime when the contents are changed or fixed.
So best way for me and my work is first way
Problem is when i use first way then move full swf file to another pc, just video (in the swf) doesn't play at all.(i'm sure it's from wrong file path)
How to change the content path? I tried so many times but failed.. (just doesnt work and some error message appears on output)
Should I install flash program in another pc then replace all the file?
    Please I need your advise
    Thanks

I was able to tether my original Verizon Droid using EasyTether without needing to root the phone. The free version wont work with https sites, but its not expensive to buy the full version after you figure out if it will work. Its not fast but seems to work ok.

  • Importing Quicktime with Flash codec

I wanted to put a Flash cartoon I made into my iMovie, so I published into Quicktime. It worked fine when I opened it in Quicktime but when I try to import it into iMovie the import progress bar flashes briefly then dissapears then after that nothing changes in my movie or in my clips bar. It seems to think changes have been made as it asks me to save before I quit.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Sorry - I should have explained more of the details. I have video tapes from several sources - my own, friends, relatives etc. in both VHS and 8mm analog. It was a BIG job to capture all the different sources and chronologically align all the various clips I wanted from all the various sources. This is my first FCE use, and I'm sure I probably did a dumb thing here. I have a single sequence that is about 3.5 hours long. It's probably too long, but I certainly know I don't need the all the duplicate footage that I haven't used so I'd like to get rid of it and use the over 100GB disk space for further captures. So I intended to export my 3.5 hour sequence with markers and after a successful re-import then delete all the original footage. When I select export from the menu, it specifically says I can save ALL markers with the QT movie. Then when I later do the import I get NO markers at all. Now I don't know what to do! So here are a couple questions (if you don't mind).
    1. What is the approx max movie time I can get on a single layer dvd using iDVD - I'd like to know how best to split up my 3.5 hour sequence.
    2. If I select some of my 3.5 hour video and paste it into a new FCE project then none of the markers are pasted and it looks like I have to make them all over again. How can I copy the markers along with the movie?
    3. On a related issue, if I select a portion of the movie in the timeline and delete a slice via in/out points, the movie gap automatically closes BUT the markers do not. The markers do not seem to be coupled to the movie at all and that simply makes no sense to me.
Sorry for being so inexperienced here, but I would truly appreciate any assistance.
    Mick.

  • Importing jpeg into Flash

When I import a jpeg image into a flash document the edges
become jagged, not smooth and straight. I tried recreating the logo
in a separate flash doc (which did not have jagged edges) and
importing into the flash doc, but had the same problem. Does anyone
know how to correct this problem?

I don't know the why of it.  I don't have this problem most of the time, but I have heard it come up before--I don't remember the solution though.  It may have involved importing the image into something that is already scaled smaller.
Anyways, here's a couple of things to check while waiting for someone who might know more to come along.
First, select one of the images and select Modify -> Transform -> Remove Transform.  If the Remove Transform option is grayed out, then nevermind.
If that didn't do anything, try dragging one of the images out to the stage from the library and see if it is the proper size.
If you have a ton of images, it's likely that neither of the two things above is an attractive solution anyways.

  • Importing movie into Flash

Does anyone have any knowledge of importing movies into
    flash?
I have a movie streaming in my flash file but when some
people open the exe they only see black when the movie should be
showing. And some others can see the movie. Any thoughts?

you can import them as an image sequence, then create a movie
clip out of it. File-->import-->import to stage.. Then select
all the images, and it something should pop up asking if you are
trying to create an image sequence, select yes.

  • Importing images into Flash

I am importing images into Flash only to discover that the images (1280 x 720) are not centered on the stage.  Most of the time the images are off centre by a few pixel widths or in some cases by an inch or more.   I can't get them to centre unless I clear the stage and import a few times.
Is there a way to import and have the images framed perfectly within the stage.
    I'm currently using Flash CS5.5
    Thank you.

You can also click the two blue boxes icon under the Timeline and then drag select the whole timeline and that will let you select all your frames at once. then just position them all where you want them at the same time. I attached a screen cap of the area I'm talking about. It's right after the two white boxes.

  • Importing PSDs to Flash

When Importing PSDs to Flash why do you end up with bitmap colour information (which of course is not editable), if you start with vector shapes in Photoshop. I still don't understand why they got rid of export swf when they ditched imageready after cs2. It used to work so well.

  • Importing Images in Flash CS 5?

Hello ! I want to make a  slidshow presentation for my project, and i am using Adobe Flash Pro CS5 for this purpose. I am new to Flash Pro CS5 and I have been referring to Lynda.com Flash Professional CS5 Essential Training: from all those videos i found to my interest was Creating a Slideshow Project. So on one of the video it shows how to create a guide lines and import images and editing them one by one. Please download the video, but i am having trouble understanding it.
    My question is :
1)Which template is he using , is it Animation, Presentation, Action Script 3.0 or Flash Lite 4
2)Import Images and Distribute to Layers.  (*Video starting from 1:22, how did he do it, i tried Distributing to Layers after selecting 14 images and i end up with error. "Could not complete operation because of unknown error.)
Could someone enlighten me, how its done. I am getting late for my project. Here is the link.
    http://www.mediafire.com/download/bijp02x7v28g6xo/2202_Importing_photos_into_Flash.rar

    Hello Desktopuser
the stage he is using appears to be a normal stage with no transitions that I can see. You have the option when starting a new project to use a "Simple" or "Advanced" template that have built in AS 3.0 controls to control the way the movie performs. Both of these have built in instructions on how to use them with the images basically going into a pre determined MC (movie Clip). You would place your images into this MC and put each image into its appropriate frame.
as for importing the images, not sure why your getting that particular could not complete message but my guess is that the images you are using may not be optimized for useage for Flash. meaning you may need to save them in a jpg, gif, png, etc.. format from photoshop and then import them into Flash. Make sure the files aren't huge in size as well. Not sure how many images your bringing in either so you may want to take care if your bringing in more then say 20 at one time.
    hope it helps some

  • Sync and frame rate problems importing video to Flash CS3

Just like the subject states, I am indeed having frame rate problems importing video to Flash CS3.
When I export a video from Premiere with the settings:
    1280x720
    frame rate of 23.976
using H264 or Animation (basically every codec produces the same results),
"embed video on SWF and play in timeline"
When I do this the file exports fine. Playing it in Quicktime works fine and the audio syncs up no problem. But when I import it into Flash using the same settings, for some reason the movie clip is now too fast in that the video does not match the audio and seems to be at more like 12 fps now (just a guestimate). The action of the video is over long before the audio even comes in.I have verified that the frame rate is correct in Flash so it's not that.
I've done this literally hundreds of times in the past and suddenly it does not work and I can not figure out why. I'm not even really using video, but actually artwork that I am putting together as an animatic for an animated piece so the video could not have been imported incorrectly or digitized wrong either. Can someone out there please tell me how to make this work? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
    -Mike

Thanks for you quick response however it really doesn't apply to what I am doing in any way. I will not be uploading the video to a server. I am using the imbed function so I can use it as a layer and then animate over it. It is just reference and will ultimately be deleted. The Fla file does indeed carry the same specs as I stated in my first post. I have done it this way dozens of times and I am trying to figure out why it suddenly will not work.

  • Importing video into Flash MX2004

    Hi
I've not worked with video before, but now have a requirement
to use a video clip in a Flash movie. I have found a royalty free
movie clip which is perfect, but would need to work over the top of
this file to add some bits to the movie.
My question is this, if I purchase the movie and import it
into Flash, does it come in frame-for-frame on the timeline so that
I can add layers and work over the top of it? I know that video
tends to create large files - once it's in Flash and published as a
swf file, presumably it should be more manageable?
    Many thanks for any help.

It won't be frame by frame, it will be its own format
    stretching across timeline
to covert the length of its frames.
