Importing into elements 11

hi , when importing my last few batches , they photos do not open , rather they just sit with the hour glass on each 1 until i enlarge them to 1 or 2 per page , then they open correctly

It depends
What operating system are you using? How fast if your processor and how much RAM do you have? How much free, clean, defragmented space is on your hard drive?
It also sounds like you're using the Organizer to import your video. Instead, just attach your camera to your computer via USB and use Premiere Elements' Add Media/From Flip or Camera tool to import your video from your camera to your project.
Sony Cybershot footage, by the way, doesn't make the best video editing footage. Especially if it's saving its video as MJPEG-AVI footage. And that depends on which model of camera you're using.
If you're using a lower end model, like the W710, and you're finding the AVIs from the camera won't work in Premiere Elements, you may need to edit the footage with Windows MovieMaker or iMovie instead. These programs aren't as powerful, but they are more versatile, when it comes to using this type of video.

  • Powerpoint presentation - import into Elements

I have a video of a 60th birthday.  I also put together  Power Point presentation for the function.  I wish to combine the video using a clip within clip concept using the Power Point slides.
Can some-one suggest what format the PowerPoint presentation be converted to, to enable it to be imported into Elements.  I have tried PDF but it doesn't work.
    Tony

A workaround would be to use an application that can record screen activity to record a PowerPoint slideshow as a movie to then import into your project. For example Magix Movies on DVD allows you to define and record an area of the screen to a file in resolutions up to 1920 x 1080. The examples shown below are for MPEG encoding. Magix also have their own proprietary high quality codec so if you record the screen activity to the timeline you can then export in a variety of formats (e.g. DV-AVI).

  • Importing into Elements 10 from Digital Photo Professional

Dont seem to be able to open my RAW files from Digital Photo Professional into Elements 10 - have I missed something or is this not possible
    Thanks
    pamay

    Hi pamay
It’s often simpler to open the CR2 file in Elements. You get similar sliders and tools to DPP in the Adobe camera raw dialog and any raw editing is totally non destructive. Change the bit depth from 16 to 8 at the bottom of the camera raw dialog then click open image. At 8 bit/channel the full range of editing tools will be available and you can save the finished image as jpeg knowing that your CR2 file is safe as a backup.

  • How to import into Elements 6

My images are in my C drive.  How do I import them into the organizer in elements 6.0?
    Howard

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
I've been there but I don't know how to proceed.  When I open that window in 'look in' I've placed my pictures.  Then in the full window below are shown all my files and folders.  What do I put into the 'file name' section?
The 'get photos' and 'copy files and folders' are greyed out.  So I am at a loss as to how to proceed.
BTW, I have your book, 'Photoshop Elements 6' and unfortunately I could not find the answer there. So I thank you for your help in this regard.

  • Import into elements 13

Will element 13 import ts files?

    dayhiker59
You should be able to import MPEG2.ts files into Premiere Elements 13. You can import MPEG2.ts in Premiere Elements 12/12.1. Are you trying to import your .ts files in Premiere Elements 13 and are having problems? Premiere Elements 13 tryout or purchased?
If .ts files are a vital part of your video editing workflow, then best try your files in your version of Premiere Elements?
Or, is it that you have not purchased Premiere Elements 13 yet? If that is the case, then be sure to look at the free 30 day tryout download
of Premiere Elements 13 from Adobe before any purchase of the product.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thanks you.

  • Importing photos into Elements

My saved photos on my pc are not visible when I attempt to import into Elements.  Why?

So right after posting the question, I decided to try to first import into the file system and then import from the file system, and that worked. But its a pain because it changes my workflow.
A possible workaround: You could use Windows Live Photo Gallery to download into your folders; the WLPG downloader is pretty good (WLPG is the version you download from Microsoft, not the one built in to Vista).  Then you could use the Organizer's File > Watch Folder feature to automatically import new photos that get added to your folders by the downloader.
Do you use lightroom? Do you recommend it?
I don't use Lightroom, but it has a very good reputation.  I know some other posters here use it.

  • Help with importing files into elements catalog?

I recently downloaded HD home video's to my computer and when I open Pre elements 9.0 it gives me the message saying new files have been downloaded since last launch of elements organizer. Elements will now import these files into a catalog. it starts and listed the mov file but is stuck and will not respond.
    Any idea's?

    jsguild
What is the format of these HD home video's that you are trying to import into Elements Organizer 9?
Try importing one of them into a Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 new project and determining if a copy of the video gets automatically placed in Elements Organizer 9.

  • Import 6000 photos into Elements 11 organizer

I have a file with numerous subfiles that I want to mass import into Elements 11 organizer.  How do I do it?  I can see how to import photos within the files, but that would take forever to highlight all photos and import.  There must be a better way.

To get all photos in a folder with all its subfolders, simply use the menu 'Get photos and videos', 'from files or folders'. In the dialog which opens, check 'include subfolders' and 'Copy files at import'.

  • Trouble importing photos into Elements 8 under Windows 7

Elements 8 is rejecting jpeg photos I am trying to import from SD card or DVD. The photos were taken with different cameras, and ones I've imported from successfully before. It labels the files as "corrupted", or "organizer doesn't recognize this file format" or other strange messages. I've successfully  imported these files into Picassa, and Windows explorer - they are plain jpegs.

So right after posting the question, I decided to try to first import into the file system and then import from the file system, and that worked. But its a pain because it changes my workflow.

  • Import iphoto into elements 11 organizer

i,m about to import photos from iphoto into elements 11 organizer. there is an option to have organizer convert events from iphoto into albums, is there an advantage to doing this, if i don't choose that option will it make adifference.

Albums in Elements are ways to give a name to a group of pictures and saving the order in which the pictures are stored. It's easy to find a given group by its name (like a keyword) while keeping their sort order. I don't know anything about iphoto, but I think it would be a pity to lose such useful information.
The main differences between albums and keywords is that keywords (tags) can be saved in the file themselves whereas the albums are only saved in the database (catalog). The second difference is that albums enable sorting the pictures.

  • Editing MP4 files in CS6 then importing into Premiere Elements 13

I would like to import MP4 files from a Phantom Drone into Photoshop CS6 ---Edit those files--Then rather then making the movie in CS6 --import into Premiere Elements 13 to edit and render ..Is it possible to use both program's to enhance the final movie?    Thanks Tom

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running?
If your Photoshop CS6 comes with Bridge, I am wondering if there is a way to go from
CS6 Bridge to Elements Organizer 13. From Elements Organizer 13, you could import from there
into the Premiere Elements 13 Editor.
    Quick results...
Photoshop CS5.1 Extended, File Menu/Export/Render Video
    File Menu/Browse in Bridge
Right click .mp4 export in Bridge, select Open With, select Adobe Premiere Elements 13 which needs to be set as default.
Seems 13 is opening but without the .mp4.

  • Elements 10  - How do I get video media imported into the timeline to be visible?

When any video media is imported into Premiere elements 10 I get a white screen (i.e. no video) and only the audio plays.   It does not matter if the files are Mpeg4 or mts.   I have routinely used Elements 9, 10 & 11.  This is a new 64bit machine and this is the only time this has occurred.

If you are one of those Premiere Elements 10 users whose computer works with a NVIDIA video card, please read through the thread in which I have been compiling "what has worked for others" related to this Premiere Elements NVIDIA video card display problem. If you have NVIDIA video card and you can find it mentioned in the thread, please try the roll back information given by another version 10 user with the same card as yours.

  • How can projects and folders in iPhoto be imported into Photoshop Elements 11?

How can projects and folders in iPhoto be imported into Photoshop Elements 11?

Launch Elements 11 Organizer. On the top left, you will find a big Import button. Click on it, and choose last option (From iPhoto).

  • I cannot import images from my camera directly into Elements Organizer

I am trying to import images into Elements Organizer from my Canon EOS 6D, but it doesn't work properly. I am expecting the images to appear in the Elements Organizer, but the images are only imported onto disk. At the moment I have to re-import images from the disk location as a second step. How can I perform this in one step, as I have seen this in the tutorials?
I am on a Mac using Yosemite using version 13 of Elements Organizer.

There is no "into". LR and PS just reference your photos on the hard drive.
When you import your photos "into" the LR catalog, LR can copy the images off your memory cards to the hard drive if you have not already copied them, but the photos are referenced by the LR catalog by the path and filename for the files.
If you are having problems getting the images off the cards, what steps are you using and what error messages are you getting?

  • Importing Images from iPhoto 11 into Elements 12 Organizer

A friend is having lots of trouble trying to move his images from iPhoto 11 into the Elements Organizer, version 12.
Someone tried to do it for him and he has hundreds of folders in the organizer that don't make any sense and often have only one image in them.
To help him I would like to do two things:
    1.  How can we delete the entire import and start over?
    2.  What is the correct way to move these images into the elements organizer?
    Thanks for your help.
    Mary Lou
PS:  It occurs to me that perhaps he needs to export them to his hard drive and then import then into the Organizer.  Might this be correct? If it is, he will still need to get rid of all the folder there now.

To anwser the two questions you asked-
    1.  How can we delete the entire import and start over? : You may select all media in Elements Organizer grid (which he imported from iPhoto) and hit Delete key
    2.  What is the correct way to move these images into the elements organizer? : The correct way is what he already did. Actually the folder naming convention is same as that of iPhoto. If you see the package contents of iPhoto Library, these folders can be seen there as well. When importing in Elements Organizer, it creates a copy of the iPhoto folder structure and then imports in the catalog.
    Thanks
