Importing iPhone 5 video to Encore - troubleshooting

I'm trying to upload video from an iPhone 5 into Encore CS6. I'm using Windows 8. Encore does not recognize the .mov files. When I select import, it recognizes .jpg files but not the .mov files. How can I get Encore to recognize these files?

The usual problem with a variable frame rate is the video & sound do not remain in sync

  • Problems importing iPhone 4 video into After Effects CS5 - Audio sync out

    Hi there,
I am currently experiencing problems trying to import iPhone 4 video into After Effects CS5.
Firstly i'd like to note that the video plays perfectly fine on the iPhone, VLC and in Quicktime Player. The audio and video is in sync.
When I add the footage to After Effects the video becomes slightly out of sync with the audio. I have noticed this in RAM preview and also in renders I did just to test.
I also want to note that, both my iPhone and After Effects have latest software updates.
    Thanks for your help

    Thanks Rick and Mylenium
    Thanks that worked!
I thought that changing the frame rate in the composition settings would have worked.
Instead what I should have done is to go the the footage in the Project Panel then right-click on the footage > Interpret Footage > Main... then Conform to frame rate: Frame rate: 23.986607 (or whatever more accurate frame rate your footage actually is)
I used the more accurate frame rate reading from VLC which went to 5 decimal places. I got that info from the top menu in Tools > Codec Information
Its a shame AE doesn't  pick up on the more accurate fps. It seems that all the videos from my iPhone 4 have slightly different frame rates and I guess I will have to interpret each clip properly.
I hear that the frame rate on the iPhone 4 is different depending on the lighting? I wonder why that would be the case?
Hope this helps anybody else that might face this problem.
    Cheers

  • Cannot play or import iPhone 4 videos in Aperture 3.3.2

When trying to import a video I shot on my iPhone 4 with the built-in camera app into Aperture, I just received the message "Unsupported video format". If I try to import the video as a file from the desktop, it does not even show up in the import dialogue.
Similarly, all iPhone 4 videos I have inside Aperture already don't play anymore. I can still see the thumbnail, but trying to open them will just bring up a grey screen - nothing else.
All videos play fine in QuickTime, I have verified they are the usual standard Apple Codec and none of the other threads here helped me.
    Would anyone have any ideas?

What is your operating system? Have you upgraded to Mt. Lion after installing Aperture 3.3.2? Then I'd start with reinstalling Aperture, if the trouble started after upgrading the OS.
Otherwise, walk through the measures outlined in the Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics, unless you alreday have done so. Start with repairing and rebuilding the aperture, Library, followed by removing the preferences, if necessary.
Post back, if it does not help.
    Regards

  • How can I import iphone 4 videos to iMovie 09?

I tried different ways to import my videos from iphone 4 (.mov) to iMovie 09 but I had no success. I transfer the video to my iMac using image capture, then try to import the video to iMovie, but seems iMovie does not recognize the video format .mov from the iphone 4. Can anyone tell me how can I do this?
Thanks a lot for the help

I have no problems with iphone 4 video, have you edited it on the phone or anything.

  • Importing iphone 4 video to imovie looks stretched/distorted

I imported my iphone 4 video movie to iphoto. I then saved it to my desktop. I then imported from the desktop to imovie. However, when i play it from imovie it looks all stretched out (horizontally). When i play the video from iphoto or from my desktop, it appears fine using the default quicktime. Can someone help me?

I also struggled with the same problem for a week (even though my files were .mov already). I found this steps helpful: opening the video clip in quicktime first, then Export it to a certain folder (desktop would be the easiest) using a 720p format (found on the dropdown menu under the "Save As" or "File Name" bar) and then import the video to imovie. This time, the video should not be stretched anymore.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do i import iPhone 4s video to iphoto

I cant get the videos on my iPhone 4S to sync wirelessly into iphoto. Is this not possible or am i just overlooking some little checkbox somewhere?

I'm having the same problem. With photostream enabled in iPhoto '11 (9.2.1) and preferences set to copy/import into an event yet it doesn't move over movies shot on my new 4S. I figured its because the file might be a little on the large size because of the new camera. But with the phone plugged in via usb to the mac and iPhoto open it doesn't show up like it used to do. Same in iMovie: it doesn't see the iPhone as a 'camera attached' from which to import videos. The only options given to export from the phone are 'Message' and 'email' which probably means compression. So how do we save our 1080 videos shot on the 4S to our macs ?
turning photostream off does not do anything to make the iPhone appear either.
Setting preferences for the iPhone in iTunes to 'include movies' in the photos tab doesn't do anything.
Can't find the iPhone in Finder either.

  • How Best to Import iPhone 4 video into Premier Pro CS5 - Settings for new import "sequence preset"?

Shooting video with my iPhone 4 (ATT version) and am trying to import file into Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.3) running on Macintosh OS 10.6.6.
The problem is that I am simply guessing on how to import sequence, and the result is that I am getting motion artifacts and generally inferior quality.  I am using iMovie 11 as my basis for comparison.   Not surprisingly, iMovie 11 imports from iPhone beautifully, but when I've looked around inside of it for properties, there isn't much to see.
From using Apple's built in quicktime "inspector,"  it is possible to see that iPhone4 video has following properties:
    ".mov" file
    dimensions:   1280 x 720
    codecs:  H.264, AAC

Seeking advice on how to smoothly and *losslessly* import/ingest iphone4 footage into PPro CS5.  (I am not worried about exporting for iPhone display, which is what most of the information I can find relates to).
    Thanks in advance,  Michael

    Wow.  Thanks Colin.
When I follow your approach, I don't get the same "sequence preset" dialog box popping up.
FU question, though, the motion is frequently jagged.  Is there a way to smooth out/increase the quality of the rendering?    I have 16gb ram, Mac Pro.   which is able to handle iPhone video rending fine in quicktime.   (I've tried rendering for "performance" and "memory" but both seem to produce, eh results.).

  • Import iphone 4 video to ipad (the "new" one)

    Hey there,
I shot a video with my iphone 4 and want to import it to the ipad  to work on it with iMovie.
Is it still the same as I need to convert the video or is there an easy way?
Currently I can see the video on the ipad under videos, but I can not add it to iMovie, I only see the videos I shot with the ipad
    Appreciate any help...
    Michael

    Have a read of this:
File Transfer between iPad2 and iPad(3) via iTunes
It explains how to transfer videos or projects.
We talk about iPad to iPad but imagine the one iPad is your iPhone.
What you did wrong was copy the video to the movies tab, you should be importing video via the photos tab.
Then the photos app can see it, and so also iMovie.
iMovie cannot edit from the movies app (this is for copyright movies).

  • LR 5.3 not importing iPhone 5 videos

    Hi,
I am unable to import videos from my iPhone 5. Importing photos works just fine, but for video files I always get the following error ("There is a problem with the video file"):
I've updated to the latest LR version (5.3). My iPhone is running iOS 7.0.4. I'm using MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.1
I also purged the video cache (as this seemed to help other users with similar problems). It doesn't make a difference.
    Appreciate your comments.
    Thanks
    Pat

To answer my own question: I had a firewall blocking outgoing connections from unknown applications. It seems like Lightroom requires network calls from the following applications in order to work with videos: dynamiclinkmanag, dynamiclinkmedia
Not sure what these applications are used for, but allowing them to make internet calls solved the issue.

  • Importing iphone 4 video to imovie

I just filmed some videos off my iphone 4, however I'm having trouble bringing them into imovie. They're in iphoto, but don't show up under iphoto videos or my media. When I drag them onto my desktop and then import them, they show up very very wide and disproportioned. Any recommendations?

Are you still having this problem? I was too and no one online had answers so after a couple of beers and brainfood, here is how I resolved it:
~ Import the video to a folder on desktop
~ Open video with QuickTime (video will orient and display properly)
    ~ Go to File/Export
~ Change the name in the Save As box (leave the extension as is though)
~ Below at Export, Select "Movie to QuickTime Movie" then click Options
~ In the Movie Settings box that appears click the "Size..." button
~ This brings up the "Export Size Settings" box, select "Current" in Dimensions
~ Leave everything as it is and click OK
~ Click OK in the Movie Settings box
    ~ Click Save
After the export is complete, drag the new file into iMovie and you will see it is correct. You will have vertical black letterbox bars on the sides but the dimensions will be correct.

  • Error importing iphone video to imovie

I am trying to import iphone 4 video to iPhoto on MBP but getting an error.  Is there a video minimum time?  I'm importing videos 1 at a time, videos are about 3 to 12 minutes long.  All have .mov extension.  Getting an error.  What am I not doing correctly?

I'm having a similar issue. I imported a video from my iPhone to my iMac. The preview of the video imported is perfect. Views same as on iPhone. However, when I select the clip for a "New Project" then the video is all messed up. I'd call it a cross from squished, to cropped to enlarged. Definitely not the same as what I imported and see in the original strip in the Event Window. Weird.

  • HT204053 sir; i can't import song and videos from pc to my iphone pls help me

sir; i can't import song and videos from pc to my iphone pls help me

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - if you would like help then you will need to provide more information than 'can't import' e.g. how are trying to sync content and what happens when you do it ?
You have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer, and your phone appears in it when it's connected to your computer ? If not then see if this troubleshooting page helps : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
You should be able to sync music and films/TV programmes by selecting your phone on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via control-S on a PC) and then using the tabs on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync your content
Is that how you are trying to do it and it's not working ?
If you haven't synced your phone to that computer before then you may also find this page useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

Is your QuickTime up to date?
Video importing requires QuickTime 7.6.2 or later.

How do I import a wmv video from my PC to my Iphone 5S via Itunes?

iTunes and the iPhone do not support WMV files. You will first have to convert the video to an MPEG4 or H.264 format video.
Handbrake is free and should be able to do this, see https://handbrake.fr

Iphone 4s - How can I import photos or videos from a PC

You can't, natively with the iPhone. The photo sync is one way: computer to phone. To do what you want requires third-party software, like this:
