Importing Items in DTW

Hi all,
i am trying to import Items via DTW but i keep on getting errors that i have not specified the sales credit account and the purchase credit account.
My GL account determination is set by Item Level.
I have also created the items warehouse import sheet that has all the relevant account for the gl account determination by item level
Plaese help!

No i did not.
I managed to import the items but i am having difficulty in updating the items warehouse info with the correct GL accounts.

Attach source file both in queryparms & also in item object.
If problem not get solved,upgrade to SAP B1 2005B PL42 &
DTW 2005.0.19 version.

Hi Sandy,
Kindly follow the check list
1. Right Click DTW and run it as Administrator.
2. Is your DTW version is same as SAP B1.
3. Uninstall and re-install DTW.
4. If you are using 64-bit DTW, try to use 32-bit one.
5. Check the Template, is it of the same DTW version.
6. Remove all the unnecessary columns.
7. Last try different Template extension.. (e.g: CSV (Comma delimited), or Text (Tab delimited))

Hi Pankaj Sharma,
Not all fields are exposed to DI API. Therefore you may not be able to upload all fields by DTW. Excisable items might be one of unavailable field.

The forum that you have posted your question in is for the SAP Business One integration for SAP NetWeaver. Your question is with respect to the Data Transfer Workbench as you should post this in the SAP Business One Form on this portal.
With respect to your question ... you would need to import item quantaties as Inventory General Entries. There is a sample of this loacated at ..\Program Files\SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\Templates\Data preparation examples\10. Testcase1_Test Data for Import function. The issue here is that by doing this you will also create General Ledger Transactions which you will then probably need to reverse.

Error while importing Item MAster Data using DTW

Hi,
when we are importing item master data using items template
it is giving error.
Error:":connected value 1 was not found "
can any one send the oitems template that is working fine wthout any error.

You cannot import data prepration templates>>Testcase1_Test Data for Import function>Oitems directly.
You will have to do certain prerequisites like setting CommissionGroup, CommissionPercent, CommissionSum,CustomsGroupCode etc., in SAP before importing Items.
So I would like you to try out with minimum fields in the template and import. After understanding, you can import the required fields.
I suggest you to use the template from "C:\Program Files\SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\Templates\Templates\oItems"

Error in DTW while importing item masters

Dear All,
i'm tryin to import item masters, but the system gives an error " expense account not defined for this item". I have checked in the GL determination, the expense account in purchasing tab does exist.. Can anyone please tell me how to rectify this?

Hi Joseph,
Item Master does not refer directly from G/L Account Determination.
It refers to account settings in Item Group or Warehouse (Administration -> Setup -> Inventory -> Item Groups/Warehouses) , depending on the setting of "Set G/L Accounts By" in Item Master.

Hi Shekhawat,
Go to SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\Templates\Templates\Inventory\Inventory Transactions\Goods Receipt and select OIGN - Documents,IGN1 - Document_Lines templates. If your Op stock is batch wise or serial no wise then choose according additional templates for it.

I have added one field through tools--user defined tables-setup
object type is no object.
Now in this udf i want to add diffrent code and diffrent name in front of item in tempalte
through DTW.

Error while importing data in DTW

hi,
while importing the data for items in DTW the option for browsing templates differs from normal DTW. "query params" the odd structure displayed in the tree structure when we select the data source file.for items alone i had this type of tree structure.after selecting the source file i got the error as "itemNo is missing". even though the itemcode is entered.i couldn't import the file.

i refered to your note.absolutely tat was the error i got.i checked the 1st workaround.but i couldn't import the file and i got the same error itemNo is missing.
but while checking the 2nd workaround i couldn't uninstall the DTW.there is a window opened by displays the following information.
"The following applications are using files that need to be updated by this setup.close this applications and click retry to continue".if i ignore this window i got the error msg as
"another application has exclusive access to the file C:\ProgramFiles\SAP\DataTransferWorkbench\dtw.mdb.please shutdown all the applications and retry".
if i click retry, the same error was displayed again and again.if i cancelled i got the error as "fatal error during installation".

Import invoice through DTW

The scenario is : When i import A/P invoice through(DTW) tempate it show me error that "Can not create Standalone A/P Invoice and A/R Invoice" because we are using exciable item in A/P invoice template.

Import Picture through DTW

Please let me know how one can import picture through DTW in employee template. I have tried to put the path of the file in the field but the picture does not get attached at the imported master. please advice

In Item master template there is column of Picture - Picturname just enter your picture file name (.jpg) in same column and import and copy all images in specified path in Administration-> System Initilization-> General Settings-> path tab-> Pictures folder.

Error importing oBusinessPartners with DTW 2005.0.16

I can not import BusinessParters with DTW 2005.0.16. For objects like Items ... it works as usual. With oBusinessPartners the Source data is shown empty, resulting in 0 imports and in 0 errors. If I open the dialog "Maintain Interface" to see the field database, it is empty within the oBusinessPartners.
How can I correct this?

Franz is right with his interpretation: It is about participating in the Ramp-up program for SAP Business One 2007 A:
Customer upgrade projects will not be able to participate in the 2007 A Ramp-Up if PL23 (or higher) on SAP Business One 2005 A SP01 have been applied. This is because Enhancement Package content has been introduced with PL23 which, due to compliance rules that SAP must follow, SAP can only add to SAP Business One 2007 A once this new release has been assigned general availability status.

ERROR IN IMPORTING RECORDS THROUGH DTW

Hi Experts,
I am trying to import more than 25000 items using DTW and i am getting the error msg, is displayed tht created failed and it is displaying only "20" items which r not imported but actually none of item is not imported. why it is not displaying all the items in the log files.

It will be very hard to say whats exactly going wrong unless the template can be reviewed. It would help if you could answer the following:
Upto how many records do you see the DTW progress in import?
Which particular record does it fail?
It would help if you can provide a few Items from your template that failed to import.
In the meanwhile, you could try the following
Try to split the file into 5 or 10 templates with each having 2500 - 5000 items each.
Import the first file and see how it goes through.
