Importing locks up windows xp operating system?

i have recently updated to itunes 7 and internet exp. 7 in the same week. i have not been able to import a cd nto itunes since. every time i insert a cd and try to import it my itunes locks up. i have to manually stop itunes (ctrl/alt/del), once i do this i try to restart my computer. my computer will not restart or turn off! when i try i get the "windows explorer is not responding". then i have to manually turn off the computer and start all over again. i called gateway and they said "it sounds like an itunes problem". i called apple... i was instructed to uninstall and reinstall itunes. this did not work. i called back and spoke with a "technical specialist". we tried reconfiguring my startup and all kinds of crazy crap to try and figure out the problem. he found a article in the forums about cd diagnostics. when we tried this it locked up my computer like nothing i ever seen before. when i tried to stop the program it locked up my windows task manager!!! what the ****!!! that is never suppose to happen. after this apple says "its gateways problem". i called gateway back and now the ball has started all over, and i still cant import cds. i can listen to my music with itunes, i can charge and update my ipod. and my cd drive still works properly with cds with windows media player, and i can still watch movies with power dvd. so why cant i import cd into itunes? if anyone in this world has had and corrected this problem please help! i have 200+ cds left to import.

My computer is doing the exact same thing! I also contacted Best Buy and they said that it sounds like a problem with iTunes. I also uninstalled Quicktime and iTunes and reinstalled and I am having the same problem.
Can someone please help us out with this!!!!

why does my windows 7 operating system 64 bit download half 32 bit important updates and half 64 bit important updates. Most driver packages available from most computer manufacturers and chipset providers contain setup information for both 32 and 64 bit operating systems. The installer determines the version to install based on the indentified operating system. This is an industry wide pratice and nothing is wrong.

i have problems to download the updated version of the System Center Management Pack for Windows Server Operating System.

Thank you so much for you reply. Is that possible to do the retore of my Mac without Disk. I have tried other Movie Disk as you mentioned and that worked properly. so now according to you my disk is not good.
Its really strange that i am using my installtion disk first time and it has no scratch but its not working. now I guess I have to replace new DVD with this one.

Due to eyesight issues, I need to have the menu bars of programs in easy-to-read font and picture size. Specifically, the menu bar across the top (File, Edit, View, etc.), and the menu bar on the left side with the graphic depiction of options.
In earlier versions of Windows (e.g. XP), whenever I changed the screen resolution on my computer to a lesser resolution in order to show the link icons on my desktop in a larger, more readable size, all the software programs, including yours, appeared on my screen with the menu bars in the larger font size that I needed.
However, in Windows 7, this is not the case. Even though I have selected the lowest resolution, making the icons on my desktop extremely large, I cannot read the options across the top menu bar of your program, nor the pull-down menu items that they contain. I cannot see the graphic depictions of options on the left side of the screen. They are all too small. How can I make your program increase the size?

CS6 is not high-DPI compatible/ enabled and that can't be changed. If you cannot6 make it work with your operating system means, then short of joining Creative Cloud and using newer versions there is nothing you can do.

Photoshop by itself cannot process raw image data. That is why the Camera Raw plug-in was developed. You could try the DNG converter and convert your images to the DNG format and then the Camera Raw that you have would be able to open them. I can't recommend Lightroom because you are using Vista, and Lightroom 5 cannot be used with that operating system. It may be time for you to get a new computer and upgrade your software.
