Importing MAX

when I try to import a .MAX file, It asks me to install the plug-in, I browse and find the path to 3DS max files, but it does not accept it, is it because it is not upgraded for the latest wersion of 3D Studio MAX? I have 9.0

Hi Vijaysiva,
I think that this KnowledgeBase, How Can I Load or Change My NI-DAQ Configuration File (*.daq) Programmatically in LabVIEW? is just what you need.  It explains how to programmatically load the .daq files that you previously imported/exported from MAX.
Take a look at this document and please post again if you have further questions.
Good luck!

  • How to I import MAX 4.6 config files into MAX 5.5? Missing Data Neighborhood. Strain gage set up is different.

    I have been trying to import my config file from MAX 4.6 into a new system running MAX 5.5 and daq 9.8.
    The data neighborhood does not appear, however my application sees the information. How can this be remedied? Start over?  I have a lot of inputs and would rather not have to recreate all of them.
    What is the difference between the strain gage settings in MAX 4.6 and MAX 5.5? The selection box for the bridge in 4.6 has a selection for "let niDAQ choose". Seems that is necessary to use the 4.6 config data. Try though I might, the readings in 5.5 do not match those in 4.6.     Is there a work around fo this? I don't want to have to perform an entire system calibration.
    Thanks

    Attached JPG's.
    Here is more information regarding the MAX Strain Set Up.
    Attached are screen shots from MAX 4.6 and MAX 5.5.
    Hardware:  PXI chassis with bridge to a PC.  SCXI-1520 input card.
    Software: Old system:  Windows XP SP2 running MAX 4.6 with niDAQmx 9.0.2,   programming in LabView 2011
                       New system: Windows 7 running MAX 5.5 with niDAQmx 9.8.  Programming in LabView 2013
    5.5:  What is the gage factor?  Is that the mv/v sensitivity of the load cell?
    5.5:  Asks for Gage resistance, easy to look up and I entered the data, 350.
    5.5:  How do I determine the Initial Voltage?
    5.5:  No choice of using V Excitation for scaling
    5.5:  Is Full Bridge I the same as 4.6 Full Bridge?
    5.5:  Requires use of Strain in scale factor
    4.6:  Requires use of Volts in scale factor (flags an error if I try Strain and requests Volts)
    4.6:  Choosing to use Vex for scaling makes readings look similar to 5.5 readings, but still not correct. ie around -79 in 5.5 and around -50 in 4.6 vs. 5.2 without.
    Is there a way to set MAX 5.5 so that it provides the same starin set  up function as 4.6? If so, what is it?
    Thanks,

  • Import MAX configuration without device or simulated device

    I'm hoping there's a way to do this.
    In previous versions of MAX, it was possible to import Channel and Task  information without having to import the Device.  This was handy if you didn't have the DAQ boards installed on that PC, but you needed to check Task and Channel information.
    I'm currently trying to import an .nce file from a project where I'd used a USB6008 as the DAQ device.  I don't have access to one of those at the moment and it's one of the devices that cannot be simulated.
    I have tried simulating a similar device with hopes of somehow "tricking" it to import.  So far, no luck.
    Does anyone know of a way I can have a look at the Channel and Task information in that .nce file or possibly fanagle it into importing without or with another simulated device?
    Patrick Allen

    Hi pallen,
    I actually don’t know of a way to change the configuration in the .nce file. It's a binary file which main use is to import and export complete configurations when you do not need to edit that configuration outside of MAX. The .ini and .txt are intended for editing outside of MAX. However you can always import the .nce in MAX, make the changes needed and export a .ini to your final destination. Sorry that this is not too helpful on your current situation.

  • Problem importing max configuration

    I would like to import my device configuration file programatically with MAXcopy configuration.vi but when I use it an error appears.
     Here are the settings I entered:
     source: H:\TEST DEPT LABVIEW FUNCTION TESTER\Labview program\configData.nce
    destination: system://192.168.4.124
     product:
    replace mode: replace
    error: code -2147220480
    MAX Copy Configuration.vi<APPEND>
    <b>Complete call chain:</b>
         MAX Copy Configuration.vi
         Initialize Max configuration.vi

    Hi Yanndouglas,
    Here is another work around for your problem. I hope this helps.
    The error code is 2147220444 and says error occurred at MAX Copy Configuration.vi. Reason: the operation failed because of unresolved conflicts requiring user input.
    The conflicts seem to be the warnings that appear when using the MAX import wizard when the imported file is going to overwrite an existing task.  So the Replace option only works on export.  On import the configuration has to be cleared.
    A work around is to open MAX and pop up a dialog that explains how to clear the configuration.  The user can then click the import button on the dialog and import the desired configuration without errors.
    I hope this helps.

  • Error 40000015. Can't Import Max Configuration File

    I'm installing a build of L.V. s/w that includes max and requires the import of a Max configuration file into max. It's been done on 3 machines fine. When doing it on a machine in a room with heightened security, I get the "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" error. The NI MAX error report gives the following ....
    Error Signatur:
    App Name: nimax.exe
    App Ver: 4.5.0.49125

    Flags: 0x0000.....

    Any ideas what might be sparking the crash? I can import and export configuration files all day in that room with a system that has LabVIEW installed in it.

  • Does importing MAX config settings file replace or append the existing MAX entries?

    Hi,
    Does importing a .nce file into max replace the existing config of max with the imported config, or does importing add the new MAX items to the existing MAX items (so that both the "old" and "newly imported" config can be used.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Either or both! (sometimes neither)
    in the import wizard you can select which items to import and what to do about items that conflict or exist with different information.  (NI really did a nice job - for NI devices!)  for some things (like Pickering VXI devices) you can't import the MAX settings.

  • Importing Max file

    Hello all,
    I have some requirements which to import the NI configuration
    file to MAX programatically through Labview.
    This config file contains the virtual channel informations which will
    be updated to the particular physical channels while loaded.
    So far i was able to import the config file manualyy using Max
    Import/Export.
    Can somebody tell me/send a code which will do the same???
    Thanks and regards

  • .Max Files in After Effects

    We are trying to create a movie with a roving drone. The movie is being created in FCP; and edited in after effects. Beacause we are only doing this for a school project we do not want to pay for any models. My question: Are we able to import .MAX, .3DS or .OBJ's into after effects to include in the final cut?
    What is the native file extension for 3D objects in AE? Also I've heard that the 3d invigorator plugin may allow me to bring in objects, but have read otherwise.
    Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Mylenium is right. Here's more information.
    Here's some more information about using 3D object layers from Photoshop in After Effects.
    Here's a bunch of information about using 3D files from other applications in After Effects.

  • Off topic - 3ds max 9 and 3ds files

    Hi I'm wondering if there is any way to add materials and colors to 3ds files. If not how do you export the textures and materials to be added later?
    I've got the loader Inspector3DS/Loader3DS and I can't import any material or anything other than the geometry of the model from a 3ds file (need to add the colors and lights in java). Maybe .3ds files isn't the best approach, but is there any loader for .max files? I'm new to Java3D and really need help. What I want is to import a model get it to show, maybe add some directional lights but I still want the main configuration from 3ds max like the materials (as posted above).
    Summary:
    Export model with materials/color (.3ds)
    or
    Save .max file
    then
    Import model with materials (.3ds)
    or
    Import .max file
    Show it on screen (this works now if I add lights in java)

    Hi all,
    I received a response from the tech development side of
    Autodesk on the Max 9 and
    Shockwave 3D issue.
    The reply was a little different to the one I posted before.
    I have been told it was
    not a mistake but an incompatibility with the higher bit
    functionality of Max 9. So
    that's why it was removed. But it is temporary.
    Was told:
    "This problem has been flagged and is currently being worked
    on.
    We will have some service packs sometime in the near future.
    Cannot disclose a date
    at the moment."

  • LabVIEW system configuration VI Import

    Hello, I have no problem exporting a NI Configuration *.ini file using the export configuration VI.  However when I make modifications to the ini file and then try to re-import the txt file the Import Max Configuration VI errors out.  I am using Labview 2011 with daqmx 9.0.  Any Ideas.

    Hi Wade,
    I'm with Applications Engineering at National Instruments. Have you tried the same thing with a .nce file instead of a .ini? Are you using the same version of LabVIEW on the same computer to modify the .ini file? A little more information on your application would be desirable.

    Can compatibility mode be turned off in the user’s browser via javascript?
    Ordinarily, compatibility mode is only necessary with older web sites when pages DON'T appear as they should.   Most people don't even know how to enable it.
    I can't remember if Project Seven uses the X-UA Edge meta tag in their source code or not.
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge">
    Basically, this tells IE to use the highest mode available for that browser version.  Example:  IE8 in IE8 mode, IE9 in IE9 mode and so forth...

  • How can I set firefox to stack my tabs one after the other so that I do not have to move through tabs using the buttons at the ends

    when I open multiple tabs which do not fit the tab strip I have to move through tabs using scroll buttons. is there any way way I can stack the tabs on each other or suggest me a add-on which can help me achieve this

    You can consider to access the tabs via the list all tabs button.
    You see the "List All Tabs" button in current Firefox versions if there are that many tabs open that you get the Tab bar scroll buttons appearing.
    * Permanent List-all-tabs Button: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/permanent-listalltabs/
    The Custom Tab Width extension adds CSS rules to adjust the tab width settings as set by the browser.tabs.tabMinWidth and browser.tabs.tabMaxWidth prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    * Custom Tab Width: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/custom-tab-width/
    You can achieve the same with code in userChrome.css.
    The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Column width for inetractive report not working in IE 8

    Hi all,
    I have an IR for which I don't want the columns to rap and the last column (DESCR) should have a fixed width, so this is what I added in the region header :
    <style type="text/css">
       table.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td {
          white-space:nowrap;
    </style>
    <style type="text/css">
    td[headers="DESCR"] {width:300px !important;max-width:300px; !important}
    #apexir_DESCR {width:10px;max-width:300px !important;max-width:300px; !important}
    </style>this works fine on FF and chrome, but IE seems to completely ignore this, even adding !important did not help
    I found on the internet that for IE 8 to obey this width the table should have as style : table-layout: fixed;
    e.g. :
    <table style=´width: 100%; table-layout: fixed;`>however I am a little bit lost as to how to do that

    Martin

    Hi,
    I think you have mistake there. Try
    <style type="text/css">
    table.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td {
    white-space:nowrap !important;
    td[headers="DESCR"] {
    width:300px !important;
    max-width:300px !important;
    #apexir_DESCR {
    width:10px;
    max-width:300px !important;
    </style>And you can try add
    table.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA {
    width: 100% !important;
    table-layout: fixed !important;
    }Regards,

  • Why are screensaver pictures so large

    When I select picture for screensaver for some reason they get inlarged.

    You would have to use code in userChrome.css instead to keep the tabs at their width if you uninstall the extension.
    Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.

  • Why are the tabs so large?

    I'm using Firefox 28.0 in Windows 7. In the previous version I was using, maybe 13-15 tabs showed in one area (I mean, if I was in one tab, 12-14 others were showing as well) (I hope you understand what I mean). However, now the tabs take up much larger space (I hope you know what I mean). So, I was wondering why they're so large & if there was a way to make the original size. Thanks.
