Importing Messages From Gmail

Can anyone tell me how toimport my messages from gmail into verizon webmail?  When they are imported, is the file structure from gmail brought over into verizon webmail?
Thanks,
Cliff

You can use trueswitch to migrate your email. go to www.trueswitch.com/verizon to start the process. It will ONLY bring over emails in your inbox, so make sure everything is copied to your Gmail inbox prior to starting this process.

How can I bulk delete contacts from my iPhone 4S? I've imported them from gmail and hotmail and there are many more than I need. Deleting them one by one will take ages, there must be a quicker way! Also, do contacts take up space on the phone or are they stored remotely?
    Thanks.. J

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup.  If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup.  You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone.  However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

  • Issues importing messages from live mail

I am having problems importing messages from my WIndows Live Mail to my Thunderbird. The instructions say go to "Tools ImportExport | Import all messages from a directory | Also from its subdirectories." However in my Thunderbird l have tools, import and then it takes me to a wizard which says "This wizard will help import messages....." and when l select 'mail' as the type l wish to import it asks for a type of mail l want to import. Windows Live Mail is not in the list. Do you have any instructions or advice?

Those instructions assume that you have installed [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ ImportExportTools].
    http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/3_How_to_install_Add-ons_in_Thunderbird.html
Or, if you can export the WLM mail to eml files, they can be dragged from their Explorer location and dropped in a TB folder.

  • Can I import messages from my 'Windows Live Mail' client

I have been having a lot of problems with Windows Live Mail so have decided to try Thunderbird. I have set up my a/c and downloaded messages from gmail but would like to load my folders and their contents from windows live mail.

    You have to manually add:
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > add here

  • Importing messages from Entourage

On three machines all running 10.4.11 I try to import messages from Entourage, and the process always is as follows. The bar begins to progress, with the Folder name up top, followed by the quickly changing names of each subject line. It seems to be importing each message.
All three instances the imports finish, with all the folders/sub-folders imported but no messages.
I am going to upgrade the machines to 10.5 tomorrow. See if that works.

I need help also - to anyone out there - after importing the data from Entourage, in addition to missing messages, my mail.app is now running so slow (both downloading messages and opening messages).
The mail.app "Help" is also not opening up.
I wanted to re-load the software also to see if it will correct everything but do not know where to get the application from - is this the best thing to do or what alternatives are there?
    Thanks,

  • Import messages from thuinderbird to Mail

I am trying to import my messages from thunderbird 3.1 to _Mail 4.4._ The import procedure suggested from Mail app doesn't work correctly because it leaves several messages without importing them.
I even tried to rename thunderbird's mailboxes to .mbox and import them again but the result was the same.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thank you

OK I did manage to export my messages to a folder as .eml files, but how can I import then into Mail?
If I double click on each one it opens in Mail (default email client) and then I am able to move it wherever I want.
But I can't do this with all my messages... (1000 emails)
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

  • Importing friendlist from Gmail, Yahoo, AIM, Hotmail etc.

    Hi All,
Does anybody knows how to import the friend list from Gmail, Yahoo, AIM, Hotmail etc via Server Side Scripts? I tried a lot by searching on Google and of course at this forum but could not figure out anything.
Let me know, if someone has any idea to perform this activity.
    Regards,
    CodeSnooker.

I'm not sure about messenger list.
However,if you are working on gmail once there is a way by which one can export gmail contacts address book.
    solution is :
    http://g4j.sourceforge.net/#download
Now coming back to extacting Gtalk list the logic is bit simple.
Just try to re-write the logic such that you extract all the list for which email address ends with "@gmail.com".
Hope that might be of some help :)

  • Can't properly Import messages from WLM to Outlook 2010

I have installed windows 7 ultimate (32 bit) edition in my system, also I installed MS Office 2010 Professional Plus.
I used Outlook Express as my email client for last 10 years, and hence I have huge mail storage to import to Windows7. I’ve decided to use Outlook as my email client now on.
I have successfully imported all my OE messages to Windows Live Mail in my Windows7 system, and now I want to import them to Outlook2010. But when I try to import them from Outlook – it can’t see any messages to import. And when I export it from
WLM, most of the (but NOT all) messages exported to Outlook, but when I open the exported messages from Outlook I see the ‘Internet headers’ are blank for all the messages.
I am digging my head for last 1 week to resolve this issue but found no fix, can anyone help me please!
    Thanks in advance.
    ~Sanjoy

You need to export from WLM and yes, the headers will be blank.  If you have an old computer with OE on it, you can export to Outlook then move the pst to the new computer.
Diane, I just purchased Outlook 2010 and have a serious issue with losing the header information when exporting data from
Windows Mail. It seems that Microsoft recently fixed this problem (partially) which I found referenced on a different site. I went to the control panel (I'm using Vista), and ran Windows Update. After updating both the Important and the Optional items, I went
into Outlook 2010 and imported my mail and contacts from Windows Mail. The header information does now import correctly. However, in WM there is a column which shows you from which of your accounts an email arrived. In Outlook it's called "Category". This
information remains lost after the migration, and the entire column is empty (though new emails that are downloaded do get tagged properly). Can you tell me how to re-import my messages without losing this information? Would using your workaround of importing
the files into an earlier version of Outlook solve this problem? If so, which version should I use?

  • Import messages from Nokia 3120 Classic to Nokia 2...

    Hello everyone.
I recntly bought a new Nokia 225 to replace a Nokia 3120 Classic.
I thought it would be esay to transfer contacts and messages from one to the other with the Nokia PC Suite.
Unfortunately, PC Suite doesn't seem to be able to manage the 225.
I can't imagine that it is not possible to transfer at least messages from 3120 to 225. It is very important to me because some of these messages come from departed friends and parents.
Do you know a method (that works!) to backup messages from my old 3120 and restore them to the new 225?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jean-Louis

Hello, jelodagh. The only option that you can do is to forward those messages to your Nokia 225. Note that the said phone model supports USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) mode. It means that you can only transfer media files between your computer and your phone. Let us know if you need further assistance.

  • Can't delete messages from Gmail mailbox

I use Apple Mail with Gmail.
When I delete a message from that mailbox, it disappears, but if switch to another mailbox and come back, it again there.
And actually there is no trash icon.
    iCloud mailbox works good.

In your Gmail settings go to labels, and check that the Trash is shown in Imap box is ticked.
If you do this, you will see a Trash folder in Mail, and you need to use that to trash an email.

  • Apple mail won't stop deleting messages from Gmail server

    Hello everyone:
For a long time I had my mail set up to delete messages from the gmail server, but recently I changed my mind. I tried changing the settings to remove copy after a month and nothing happened, i.e. immediately deleted messages from server. Now I've tried changing it to never remove a copy and it is still doing it. What am I missing?

I should say: it does leave a copy in "all mail" but deletes it from the inbox section so they are unavailable on my iPhone as soon as my laptop grabs it....

  • Trouble importing Messages from Mail

    Greetings,
I need to import my old messages from my old G3 machine to my Intel iMac. Both are running 10.4 and mail 2.x
I go to file>import mailboxes and then select Import from another copy of Mail.
I then go to Library>Mail and then select a folder that has mailboxes in it.
It doesn't matter if I choose one that has the extension .mbox, or just the name of the account; it just crashes Mail.
The only time I've been moderately successful is trying to import my sub mailboxes, which are in a parent folder with the extension .mbox. All folders in this parent folder are .mbox. This differs from the others, which have a variety of folder types. The mailboxes in this homogenous folder show up in the import list, but then none of the messages import, just the mailboxes themselves. Never mind that I don't really need these messages.
What I'd really like to do is to drop the old messages into my new inbox so I have a complete set going all the way back. How do I do this? What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Oral History.
Mail crashes (i.e. quits unexpectedly) even if you select the wrong folder? Don’t you even get a “No valid Mail for Mac OS X files were found” error message in those cases?
There could be more than one thing amiss here. Does Mail otherwise work fine on the Intel iMac? In particular, can you create custom “On My Mac” mailboxes in Mail by means of Mailbox > New Mailbox or does Mail complain with some error message when you try to do that?
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described in the following article:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Do you have any Mail plug-ins? In the Finder, go to each of the following folders (if they exist). What do you see there?
    /Library/InputManagers/
    /Library/Mail/Bundles/
    ~/Library/InputManagers/
    ~/Library/Mail/Bundles/
To make accurately reporting this information easier, open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal, type the following command (you may just copy it from this post and paste it in Terminal), and press <Return>. You may then copy the output of that command from Terminal and paste it in your reply to this post:
    ls -1 /Library/InputManagers /Library/Mail/Bundles ~/Library/InputManagers ~/Library/Mail/Bundles
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.

  • Importing messages from Outlook Express on a PC to Mail

I just spent a long time looking through posts to find a way to do this, and still had difficulties, until finding this link:
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20040325164915651
    on one of the posts.
Actually it is simpler than described on that link, presumably because it's a couple of years old and the software has improved.
All you need to do now is Copy-Paste all the emails from each OE folder into a new folder you create on your desktop (OE lets you do this. So you make an Inbox folder, Sent folder, etc). Copy those folders over from PC to Mac (eg using a Fat32 formatted external drive) , then drag & drop those files one folder at a time into a Subfolder that you create in Entourage. (ie you make a new Inbox, Sent etc subfolder) Then Mail will import these folders from Entourage by itself using Import.
You need to have Entourage (part of Office) to do this.
    cheers

Since you have a new Mac, you can create a .Mac trial account for free which is good for 60 days I believe.
A .Mac type account with Apple's Mail application is really an IMAP account and behaves in the same way.
When creating a .Mac account with the Mail.app, the default account type provided is .Mac but you can also select IMAP or POP as the account type.
You can create a .Mac account as an IMAP or POP account with a different email client on a Mac or Windows PC.
After creating your .Mac trial account as a .Mac or IMAP account with Mail on your Mac, you can create the account as an IMAP account with Outlook Express on your Windows PC.
After doing so, copy messages from the POP account's Inbox mailbox to .Mac account's Inbox mailbox and the same for the POP account's Sent mailbox to your .Mac account's Sent mailbox.
Launch Mail on your Mac and these messages will be available in your .Mac account's Inbox mailbox and Sent mailbox.
Create two "On My Mac" location mailboxes in Mail - one for transferred Inbox messages and one for the transferred Sent messages.
Transfer these messages from your .Mac account's Inbox mailbox and Sent mailbox to the appropriate user created "On My Mac" mailboxes which are stored locally on the hard drive. This process will save the transferred messages locally on the hard drive and remove the messages from the server at the same time.
A .Mac trail account has limited server storage space so if the Inbox mailbox and Sent mailbox for this POP account in OE on your PC exceeds the server storage limit for a .Mac trail account, you must do this in stages and although this may sound involved, it really isn't and overall is probably the easiest and fastest way to do so.
