    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Then try again.
If not successful, contact iTunes and request a free redownload. Then delete the old one from the iPod

    - Copy/move the iPod backup file from the old to new computer.  That file is located here and you may have to have show hidden files turned on.

    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    - After all the stuff in on your new computer, restore the iPod from backup.

  • Importing movies to iPod gives an error

I'd like to import a movie from a bought Music-CD to the iPod. The movie is available as *.mov and *.mpg. importing them into iTunes worked but converting it for the use in iPod gives the message "An unknown error appeared (-50)"
    What's wrong with iTunes?
I converted it with Nero-Recode to *.mp4 and everything worked fine including importing and playing in the iPod.

  • Home movies to ipod touch

how do you add and sync home videos taken from a digital camera to an ipod touch. it will not sync my .mov's from my folder to the device

If you've imported your movies into iPhoto, open iMovie and it will show them in the Event Library on the bottom left (shown as "iPhoto Videos"). Once you've created a project in iMovie you can select Share->iTunes... and iMovie will re-compress the files to the appropriate format (after you tell it what you want) and place the movies in your iTunes library. Then its just a matter of syncing your iPod Touch to iTunes.
If you need help with iMovie I suggest you hop on over to the iMovie forum to ask your questions.

  • Can not sync Planes movie with iPod Touch

I have recently purchased the Planes movie so my son can have it on his iPod Touch.  It has downloaded to my iTunes account but will not sync with his iPod.  I get the error message ( "Planes" was not copied to the iPod ... because it cannot be played on this iPod )  He has 5.83 GB free.  I have tried different USB ports and hubs.  We have been able to install multiple other movies and play them just fine.

Likely the version you download is too high resolution for the iPod.
Try going to the Purchased section in the iTunes store and see there a a version with less resolution available for download. Look for SD version.

  • Playing movies from ipod touch to hd tv

widescreen movies have the sides cutoff.......... any one else have this problem.... or..... the solution??

Also, iPod Touch and iPhone displays are both widescreen (16:9)
The touch screen (480x320) is actually not quite your widescreen - it's 13.5:9
I notice the difference when viewing 16x9 widescreen broadcast that I have captured with my EyeTV Hybrid and converted to iPod use; the station identified 'bug' is at the edge of the touch screen while on my widescreen TV it is not at the edge of the frame.

  • Syncing digital camera movies to Ipod Touch

    Hi all,
Recently got an Ipod touch and love it. In order to sync movies to the touch, the movies have to be in the movies folder in the home folder on one's computer. However, the touch doesn't recognize the movie format from my digital camera. Does anyone have any advice on how to change the format so that the Ipod can sync the video clips?

Will Quick time pro or Imovie save as M4v. Does anyone have experience with this?
    Yes, but...
...there are CODECs used in some video files that aren't supported by QuickTime (or QuickTime Pro).
I personally prefer VisualHub. The other evening I was attempting to reduce the image size of a 2 hr mpg-4 file I had to iPod size with QuickTime Pro - the time to completion estimate kept going up and when it reached 18 hours I quit QuickTime Pro. VisualHub did the conversion in 38 minutes.

  • Purchased iTunes movies to ipod touch

My son has an ipod touch and wanted to drag "The Adventures of Tin Tin" that he had purchased (through a download code that came with the DVD) from iTunes. He tried it 2 ways- once dragging it from Itunes to ipod and syncing, and once going to the ipod on the left side, clicking 'movies' and clicking the check on that film and syncing the ipod. Either way it shows it as downloaded, but when he tries to find it on the ipod, it can't be found.
    He has 5.1.1 software installed.
    Can anyone help? Much appreciated.

    Hi Illaass- thanks for asking.
No strange movies showing and have tried the reset with no luck. We also did the unsync and reloaded just the one.
Seems we've hit a wall of weirdness.

Basically says I am not allowed play these on my computer. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I do have a computer with Windows XP but downloaded these into iTunes.

  • Windows Photo Library move to iPod Touch

New User of MP 3's. Just brought best - iPod Touch 32GB. Have Photos in Win Photo Gallery & MS Office Picture Mgr. How do I convert these to move selected photos to my Ipod?? Do I have to buy Adobe Photoshop??? Appreciate help.

    Hi,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions,
Firstly, you will not see a "Photo" tab in iTunes until you plug in your Touch, the a tab will then appear on the summary page which you can summon by clicking your "Device name" in the left hand panel. Using this tab you will be able to specify a photo folder (and sub folders) with which to synch your Touch.
To organise your photos you could do the following -
    1. Make a dedicated folder on your desktop and call it whatever, I chose "Pod Pics"
    2. Within this folder make sub folders such as "Holiday 2008", "Beach" etc. iTunes photo synch will only support 1 level of sub folder so do not put other folders within these.
    3. Copy the photos you require (usually .jpeg files) into the appropriate folders. I use copies to ensure my originals do not get lost or deleted accidently
    4. Open iTunes and with your Touch connected go to the "Photos" tab on the "Summary" page (click on your device name in the left pannel to see this).
    5. Check mark "Synch photos from" and choose the folder "Pod Pics" you made previously.
    6. Enable either "All photos" or "Selected Folders" and select the sub folders you want to synch with, then Synch your Touch.
iTunes will then "Optimise" (read mangle) your photos to fit on the Touch. It does not actually alter the originals but makes copies which will appear in a subfolder called "iPod Photo Cache"
    Hopefully that all makes sense.
    Good luck,
    Dud.
