Importing MP4 Into Premiere pro CS3

Hi I'm Hayley, I was just wondering, I have footage in a strange format; .mp4, and it wont import into Premiere. Someone asked me if I had all the updates, etc, I do, and still no luck with it...
I was thinking of doing a reinstall of it, but if i do that, I will likely have to download all my updates and stuff all over again, and in the end, the mp4 thing still may not work.
Before I try the reinstall, I was just wondering if anything else can be done about the format.
Any ideas, friends?
Thanks in advance!

  • Missing audio track when importing video into Premiere Pro CS3

When I import my M2TS video into the editor there is no audio when viewed in the source.  There is also no audio track when I drag a clip down to the timeline.  Any fix for this?

I have the same problem with M2TS files in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. The audio track is there - Adobe Premiere just doesn't recognize it. If you open the same clip in Nero Showtime, Corel Ulead VideoStudio, etc., the audio will be there. The audio is probably multiplexed.
I have been recording High Definition TV using the Hauppauge HD PVR 1212. About 15-20 % of the M2TS files recorded will be seen as video only clips by Adobe Premiere. The remaining clips will be conformed by Premiere and you will have a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track. If you convert the video only clips to .MP4 and then re-import them into Premiere you will then have the Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track back and you're good to go.
I use either Xilisoft or Arcsoft media converters to change to .MP4 files. If you use Arcsoft you will have to render the clip. The files converted by Xilisoft don't have to be rendered for playback.

  • Importing WMV into Premiere Pro CS3

When importing some wmv-files into Premiere only the audio-part imports. No video.
    Other wmv-files imports without problems.
The problem seems to occur only with files converted (from mov?) to wmv on Mac-systems.

    Henrik,
I'd do a conversion of the WMV's to DV-AVI Type II outside of PP. Import the converted files and you *should* be able to edit them. Quality will likely have taken a hit, but as you do not have the original files, that is the best you can do.
Always request that your client, or whomever, furnishes you with a DV-AVI Type II in the future.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How do you import mp4s into Premiere Pro CS6?

When attempting to import an mp4 file, I get a dialog box indicating that the import failed because the file does not contain video or audio streams. The file is undamaged, it plays fine on windows media player, both audio and video. I tried loading it into Adobe Media Encoder and had the same problem. Thoughts?

  • Audio is out of sync when importing mp4 into premiere pro CC, how to fix?

Earlier versions had this problem, but while I was working with CS6 it was never an issue. Now it is an issue again. It is not simply the issue of audio lagging, or I could fix that by unlinking and adjusting. The audio is fine in some areas, lagging in others. Sometimes it is the video that is lagging and not the audio. The clips are perfectly fine outside of Pr.
    Dimension: 1920 x 1080
    Codec: H.264, AAC
    Duration: 14:28
    Audio Channels: 2
Please help me figure out what is going on? I would hate to have to begin reencoding all of the files of this camera, just because of such a glitch.
    Thanks
    Tiff

  • Can animated titles created in Titlemotion imported into Premiere Pro CS3?

    Hi,
We are using Titlemotion Software(Standalone Version)for creating animated titles.
We would want to use these animations into Premiere Pro CS3.
We can save the animations made in Titlemotion as
    1) an FX-script,
    2) a targa sequence &
    3) a '.VIA' format.
'VIA' files created in Titlemotion do not get imported into Premiere Pro CS3, Premiere Pro informs that they are not supported.
Is there any way to import a .VIA file into Premiere Pro CS3?
    OR
Is there any work-around wherein animations created in Titlemotion Pro could be taken into Premiere Pro CS3?

Save as a targa sequence with an alpha channel.

  • Importing sound into Premier Pro CS3

I have a Sony HDR-XR100 HD video camera.  It saves files with an .m2ts extension.  This extension is not supported by CS3.  Using Sony's PMB (Picture Motion Browser), I convert the .m2ts files to .mpeg2.  When I import these files into Premier, they appear, but have no audio.  How do I import the audio?  Thanks.
    David

I put it in the main Premier folder, presumably like you did, and it worked.  I'm not real familiar with Macs, but the folder I put it in was "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS3".  There are several other files there with similar names.  If that doesn't work, I'm lost, since obviously I had to come here for help myself :).

Subject: Importing sound into Premier Pro CS3
Hey, I'm using CS for Mac and I'm having the same issue , importing .mpg into PPro and get no audio.
I found the ad2ac3dec.dll file online but I'm not sure what folder to place it in. I've found the folder named Adobe Premire Pro CS3 and just pasted it into that but it didn't work.
My camera only records in .mpg and I really don't want to spend money on a converter after spending a bucketload for CS3...
Any help would be much appreciated!

  • CS4 I have created compositions in After Effects CS 4 but when I import them into Premiere Pro CS4

CS4 I have created compositions in After Effects CS 4 but when I import them into Premiere Pro CS4 they only appear in the monitor when the play button is activated. The other clips appear without a problem. I noticed that the same situation arises when I dynamically link to Encore CS4. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you Ann. But the problem is when switched on the AE clips on the timeline are only viewable when I start the project (ie press the space bar) and as it also doesn’t appear in Encore I am afraid to spend a great deal of time creating a DVD with these clips not appearing. Any advice?
    Regards and again many thanks
    Stanley

  • When importing MPEG files into Premiere Pro CS3 the audio sequence is missing.

We have two computers running Premiere Pro CS3.  Our computer most recently installed with PPCS3 will only import an audio sequence with the MPEG video file when I extract the file directly from the DVD.  When I take the video folder from the DVD and drag to my Desktop, importing to PP from the desktop, it will only import the video sequence; audio does not appear.  What would cause this happen and how can I fix this?  It's too time consuming to continuously use my DVD Extractor.

1st, that old program has a different forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_previous
2nd, To work with AC3 sound files in Premiere CS3, copy the ad2ac3dec.dll file from the Encore CS3 directory into the Premiere directory

  • Importing files into Premiere Pro from DVD

Using the CS3 Version of Premiere Pro...
Ok on my DVD recorder I have a load of recorded programs, I'm now trying to import them on to my computer and then edit them on Premiere Pro. Now I can't even play these files, well I can't seem to play any videos from DVDs. (I think I need to download something in able for me to do it, that's a different issue but if anyone could help me with that I would be grateful too. The message that comes up for it is "Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings".)
Okay anyway to the real issue, these files are not able to be imported into Premiere Pro as they are not the right format.
Ok on the disc it has two folders, "VIDEO_RM" & "VIDEO_TS".
In the "VIDEO_RM" folder, they are all under the same name as the folder but one is a BUP file, one is a IFO file and the other a DAT file. The DAT file is the one that is the biggest size, the other two being 32kb.
In the "VIDEO_TS" folder, there is a "VIDEO_TS" BUP file, a "VIDEO_TS" IFO file, a "VIDEO_TS" VOB file, a "VTS_01_0" BUP file, a "VTS_01_0" IFO file, a "VTS_01_1" VOB file, a "VTS_01_2" VOB file and a "VTS_01_3" VOB file. The VOB files are the bigger files.
Ok if you aren't lost by now or haven't given up on me, what do I do now? I can't get these into my Premiere Pro project, I've heard stuff saying I need to convert it but all these convertion programs are complicated or I need to pay to be able to convert it or convert it with some text over it.
Is there a way of importing these files into Premiere Pro through a different method than normal, or do I have to convert them? If so does anyone reccomend any programs.
I'll appreciate any help and feedback given. I've been trying to work this out for the last few months trying to create a project for my Dad for Christmas but only now I've plucked up the courage to ask.
    Thanks,
    Andrew Mountier

  • Sony CX115E into Premiere Pro CS3

    Hi all,
I have ordered a Sony CX115E, asking will Premiere Pro CS3 recognise this camera? If not, when I have downloaded my footage onto the hard drive, will I be able to import the footage into Premiere?
    Thank you.

Alas, you will not be able to import or edit the footage as it is AVCHD.
You will either need to upgrade to CS5.5 or get NeoScene from Cineform.

  • How to bring an Avid project into Premiere Pro CS3?

My client has an old Avid project that needs to be re-edited. I'm using Premiere Pro CS3. Can easily purchase any necessary conversion software (NOT going to buy Media Composer :P). Is there any way to 'easily' import it?
I'm familiar with the Automatic Duck software suite, but they don't seem to have an option for conversion to PPro. What about converting from Avid to After Effects, and then somehow importing the After Effects into PPro?
I'm extremely new to EDLs and very hesitant to use them :). Any advice?

I've had some degree of success going from Avid to PPro through the use of AAF (Advanced Authoring Format). If the project is really complex, the transfer may not work that well, but I was surprised to see just how much transferred cleanly. Check the Avid documentation for exporting a project as an AAF, and the PPro documentation for importing.
One thing to note is that you will have to recapture the media from the original source tapes, as PPro will not work with media files created during capture on an Avid system.

  • How can I make title screens in either Illustrator or Photoshop and import them into Premiere Pro?

I'm having trouble finding the identical aspect ratio to import either an Illustrator or Photoshop title screen into Premiere Pro. There are so many ratios to choose from with Premiere Pro that I've about lost my mind. I was able to import Photoshop title screens into iMovie with no problem. I'll be importing the finished video into my YouTube channel. I want it to be widescreen but have no clue which ratio to use. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I always start with New Image in Photoshop, and then choose a Video Preset, that matches my PrPro Sequence. I use one with Guides. I usually choose to create that New Image with a Transparent Background.
Once complete, I just do a Save_As to PSD, which will be Imported into PrPro. If you have Ps Layers, you have two choices on Import: you can Import as Footage, which will Flatten your Layers, or you can Import as a Sequence to keep the Layers separate. Depending on what I will be doing, I might select one, or the other. If you Import as a Sequence, you can then animate each Layer individually.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
