Importing Ms Powerpoint Slides into a Project.

I'm using Robohelp 7
I've created a manual in Ms Powerpoint containing 500 slides. It contains text, tables & Images. Is there any way to upload these slides into a project in Robohelp HTML.
I tried converting Powerpoint slides to XML format but then I lost the formatting and tables were converted to images.

Adeel

Hi leastoners,
If you're trying to insert a file into a Word document, your best bet is to check the Word online Help. (What you describe sounds like a function of Word, not of Acrobat). I did a quick search and came up with this: Add a PDF to a document - Word. But I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.
If I misunderstood your request, please let me know and we can take it from there.

Sara

  • Unable to import MS PowerPoint slides Captivate 6 on Mac

I have an existing project which I imported two PowerPoint slides into without a problem. I then made changes to the slides in PowerPoint, and when I went to re-import to Captivate, I get this pop-up message:
This is on Mac OS X 10.8.3. I open the same project/PowerPoint presentation on Windows 7, and I am able to import without a problem. The only thing I can think that has changed on the Mac platform is a recent update to the Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac.
    Is this a known issue?
    Thanks.

Sorry to pop in, but was looking at the first screenshot: the chosen resolution is probably not the native resolution of your PPT, moreover you unchecked 'maintain aspect ratio'. Did you ever try to import the PPT at its native resolution, or at least when choosing another to keep the width/height ratio the same? Personally I would not recommend to create a project with another resolution. One of the features that is to me the most annoying in PPT (I avoid using it) is that you have to define the size in a print measuring unit like in or cm (in my case) which is totally crazy for an application that aims at presentations that will be given on a screen where the unit is always pixels. Captivate will translate the PPT-resolution to pixels and propose it, is there a reason why you don't want to use that? If necessary you can always rescale the project in Captivate later on (not recommended neither because of the quality loss).

Have you tried importing it with standard workflow instead of coyping and pasting.
Is the resolution of your powerpoint presentation and Captivate Project same, make sure it is same, else, it would rescale it to fit on the sldie, rescaling might detoriate the quality.

  • Importing a powerpoint presentation into FCE

I need to import a powerpoint presentation into fce. Can it be done? What does it look like? Do I need to tweak anything to make it the best possible image? Is there any online source available to learn how to do it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. many thanks. Eileen

    Agreed.
I was stuck continually doing PP Presentations and was so limited in what I was able to do. You will notice that PP on an Apple does allow you to do Quicktime transitions.... anyways.
I did finally buy Keynote (purchase iWork and it comes with Pages - Microsoft Word equivalent, however, also much better) and you can bring PP into it and do what the before was mentioned.
I am curious though... is the only reason you want to bring a PP Preso into FCP is so you have it as a movie...? Do you want to also control transitions and animations...? You would be off much easier within Keynote and have much more control as far as exporting as a .mov or .pdf and the likes; Keynote is extensive. But if it is really for stills... you can "Save As..." in PP as JPEG, and PP will kickout each slide (with or without transitions) as single jpeg files (set your resolution high...) and then obviously import the jpegs into FCP, and have still images do things....
Hope this helps, but truly you are better off with the $99.00 purchase and trump to Keynote - I got my whole office hooked!!
    Sincerely, Jeffrey

This feature is not available in the current version (15.1) of OneNote for Mac. You can request this feature via this page:

  • Error -2002 when importing quicktime movie clips into iMovie Project

When I import QuickTime movie clips into my project, the scroll bar fills about 1/3 of the way, and then I get this message:
Can't open file "DSCN0812.MOV"; skipping it and continuing. I CLICK "OK," and then this message appears:
    Error during import
The file could not be imported: (-2002)
This happens to every movie clip. Anyone have any idea what's happening here?
    Thanks!

I guess, you try to import 'moving images' from a still cam, right? these are in a codec (=mov is no format, just a container) , iM doesn't support. Use the free tool *Mpeg Streamclip* www.squared5.com to convert these files to 'dv stream' BEFORE importing to iMovie.

  • PowerPoint Slides into Captivate Responsive Project

  • I cannot import Power Point slides into my presentation...

Hello, have created brand new project with Captivate 7 and tried to import a Power Point slide I made seconds earlier, and I get an error message.  I tried the same with a new project in Captivate 6 (I have 6 and 7) and I get the same message.  See image.  Power Point was closed when I tried to import it.  Any ideas what could possibly be happening?
    Thanks for any help!!!

As per the Captivate 7 manual:
    1. In an open project, Select File > Import > PowerPoint Slides.
    2. Navigate to and select the PowerPoint presentation file format that you want to import.
    3. Click Open.
    4. Decide where to place the imported PowerPoint slides in the Adobe Captivate project. Add the slides to the end of the project, or click a slide in the list and add the PowerPoint slides after that slide.
    5. Click OK.
    6. In the Convert PowerPoint Presentations dialog box, do the following:
    a. Select the PowerPoint slides to convert to Adobe Captivate project slides.
    b. Set navigation preferences for the selected slides.
    c. If you want to link to the PowerPoint presentation, select Linked. If you want to embed the PowerPoint presentation, deselect Linked.
    7. Click OK.
The PowerPoint slides are imported into the Adobe Captivate project and they appear in the designated location. If necessary, you can change the order of the slides.
    Hope this helps!

  • I am new to iTunes. How do I transfer files of Powerpoint slides into iTunes from PC and then into my iPad for use at a meeting

I am new to iTunes and the iOS in general, having just migrated from Android devices. Please advise as to how I can easily transfer files of Powerpoint slides in documents on my PC into iTunes, so that I can use Adobe or other app to get them into my iPAD to be able to use them at a conference. Thank you.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have had an iTunes account for a while, but never really taken the time to learn to use it.  Now I have two computers, with two different versions of iTunes, with content on one that I want to transfer to the other.  Or I'd like to directly access the older libarary from the new computer.
There are a number of ways you might achieve this. The following article(s) may help you.
Moving your iTunes library to a new computer
Alternatively you might just use home sharing to share the libraries.
Plus I have some videos and audio CD's that I have never imported, and would like to bring them into iTunes and store on an external hard drive to keep from loading up my computer.  I have no idea how to accomplish all of this, and cannot find clear instructions on the website.  Is there a screen where I can access written step-by-step instructions?  I don't have the time or patience to play around and do it by trail and error.  Thanks.
If you place a CD into the CD drive, iTunes will ask you if you want to import it.
If you want iTunes to store content on an external drive, you need to tell it to do so, which you do at iTunes preferences > Advanced.

  • Importing power point slide into captivate

Not sure what I am doing wrong. I imported an animation slide
from power point to captivate last night and it worked great (using
Captivate2) I tried this morning (using cpativate 3) and the
animation will not play, it just looks like a picture. Is there
something different I have to do using Captivate 2 version vs the
Captivate 3 version? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi again yankeebrit
Well, where there's a will, there is often a way...
You could accomplish it by using what I refer to as 'The
Camtasia Approach'. Basically, it goes like this. Configure the
PowerPoint to play in a resizable window. Start the slide show in
the window, then set Captivate up to record the slideshow as it
plays. Then, when you know animation is coming, press the F9 key to
begin a full motion capture. When the animation ends, press F10 to
    stop recording in full motion.
Using that technique, you are able to get what you want from
    Captivate 2.
    Just a thought... Rick

  • *URGENT* importing third party package into Jdev project

    hi,
our company has bought a thrid party package instead of developing one to speed up the project pace. Some how we cannot import the package into our project environment,
this is what we do with the package.
set the class path to where the *.jar files are, for example: C:\AccBank\beta\creditcheck.jar
please note that the "C:\AccBank\beta\" is where the project file locates.
and follow is the import statement
    import thirdparty.package1.*;
please tell us what did we do wrong, if the case in question is not clear, please tell us the steps we need to do to import and use a third party package with JDev.
Also, please tell me the different purpose between the directory :
PROJECTFILES and CLASSFILES under the main project directory

    Hello,
I'm not sure about what you mean,
but in order to use a given package within JDevelopper, you should:
    - select project/project properties,
    - find the libraries tab
    - click "add", then "new"
    - click "class path"
    - click "add ZIP/JAR" and add the various jar files you want to include
Note: if the included libraries contain subpackages of packages like javax, and you want to deploy your project (as EJB for instance) you will have to edit the deployment profiles in order to add the 3rd party libraries, otherwise, these subpackages won't be deployed (by default, packages suvh as java.lang, javax etc.. are not excluded from the deployment).
about the PROJECTFILES and CLASSFILES items, they refer to the directories in which your project's source code (PROJECTFILES) and compiled classes (CLASSFILES) are stored
    Hope this helps, Remi

  • How can I import a .AVI file into my project?

I want to import a .AVI file into my video project but Final Cut Pro will not import it. Final Cut says the file is not recognized but it plays with Quicktime.

    DJ OZA,
Do you get the warning "Media files are not optimized for FCP. Either recapture the media or use Media Manager to crate new copies of the files to improve performance for multi-stream playback."?
    What does this mean?
I can import and edit the files no problem either, except for that waring, which concerns me.
It means you will not be able to use the multiclip feature with these files because your Macintosh is working very hard to decode them on the fly. More than one stream will choke your machine.
Your AVIs are visible in FCP because you happen to have acquired an AVI file that uses a codec you have available on your machine.
AVI isn't even supported by Microsoft; it's been a totally concatenated delivery wrapper for more than a decade. It only survives because of entrenchment.
Use Get INfo on one of your AVI clips, figure out what codec was used, use Google to find out what you can about the codec, and decide how you want to proceed. You want to determine what your output is going to be and work backwards from that decision. For instance, if you're going to distribute a standard MPEG2 DVD, you want to edit using conventional DV. Transcode you AVI files to DV using Compressor.
Your easiest solution will be to edit on a PC that does handles the AVI natively or to contact whoever gae you the files and demand they provide you with clips you can edit on a Macintosh.
