Importing Muse sites in other Muse sites.

Hey,
i have to different projects in muse.
One Mobile Site in the one project, and a desktop site in the other project.
Is ist possible to bring this wo sites together in one project?
I want import the mobile site in the project with the desktop site.

Hi,
You can't directly copy or merge a muse site into another. However, you can copy the content across the sites. So for example, if you have 5 pages in mobile version, create the same pages on the other site and you can copy the content of each page one by one and paste it onto the corresponding pages of another site.

You just take your .muse file to the other system with Muse installed and then edit it there through Muse. Otherwise, if it's just some text and foreground images that you'd like to edit from BC site's frontend and then be able to sync up the changes with your .muse file, use the In browser editing feature - http://www.adobekb.com/working-with-in-browser-editing_pt01.html.

Muse is terrific for basic pages, but forms, and scripts require more capability

Yes I have looked at the Muse code and also looked at it in a plain html editor, (Been using Arachnophilia for about 15 years)
and the code is a mess.
You are dead right. I figured I would start with Muse to get some of the concepts sorted out, and that has worked, but I know I will need to use DW for my main site
CanLaw has about 1500 pages all done in html with tables….
time to play catch up
Ton of work, but I have a masochistic bent anyway
But in the long run life will be simpler if I make the effort now.

Lost iWeb Site .... need to import current site!

HI
My iWeb site info was lost after a destroyed computer incident.
I didn't know about the domain file that should be backed up ... I do now... but I am left with a .Mac web site that I can't edit or import.
What should I do?
Are there products that can import the site? Maybe I can continue using a different editor?
Is there a way to add new pages to my site ... to at least link to a new site? Or is my current site now frozen in time?

Ok to rant now and then; we all have at one time or another!
Maybe this will help: understand that iWeb doesn't operate like other web apps, in the sense that it does not write html as it creates. It takes the data you place in it and then converts all of it into html when you click the Publish button. In other words, iWeb does the Save As for you when it generates the html necessary for the web.
I save frequently as I work in iWeb. If you have spent hours working with the application and you have created a substantial portion of a site, it is a very good idea to stop, make a duplicate copy of the Domain file, and place it in it's own folder, in another location. There is a free automator application available here which makes this process very quick and easy.
Get used to backing up that Domain file frequently. While it doesn't happen that often, there are posts in the forums about the inability to even save your work after hours of labor in the app. If you have duplicated your Domain file incrementally as you work, you will avoid the perils of this situation.

I want to import the site I currently manage in contribute in dreamweaver to see if it is an easier way to manager. How do I do this?

Go to Site > New Site and tell DW where on your hard drive you wish to keep your local site folder.
Enter your remote server FTP credentials.
From the Files Panel, Click on the Down Arrow to GET files from your remote web server.

Importing existing site made in another app into iWeb

Hi,
Is it possible to import to iWeb a site created in RapidWeaver? Or, at somehow have any new iWeb site I do, and keep the work I did the in RW online.
I don't necessarily need to edit it, but I'd like to keep that RW site intact and available.

No; iWeb cannot import existing sites. If you have the HTML and other files from RapidWeaver, store them on your hard disk, and then use iWeb to publish to a folder, posting those pages as desired.

Can I import a site from an iDisk Backup?

i recently did an erase and install on my MBP thinking that iWeb would be able to retrieve my site from my iDisk. I then found out there is a separate domain file that iweb uses which I deleted. What is the easiest way to get my site back being that I do still have it all "there" on idisk?
Also, the site was created with iweb '09 but now im using '08.

Can't import BC site into Dreamweaver

I recently downloaded a trial of Dreamweaver and the adobe business catalyst plugin. When I try to import my bc site I am asked to login with this error message:
"An account with the same email already exists in Business Catalyst. To associate the Business Catalyst account with your Adobe ID, please log in to the Business Catalyst web administration console."
After logging in to the BC admin console I still cannot import my site. Is there some trick to merging the accounts?

Importing Web Site - Best Way ?

I'd like to import my sites and work on them as local
documents (import all graphics, js, etc...)
What's the best way? I've heard that DW doesn't really have
an import tool for websites (just getting the hang of the program)

No. Comments are defined on certain page number. You can move them (even
using a script) later on, but not when importing them.

i want to move data from oracle 8i to 10g and going to use exp and imp utilities.
I just want to import production schema objects and don't want to import sys' or any other administrative objects.
i am new in dba field. plz guide me and tell me that which parameters/options of exp/imp can i use for performing above task.

Sys is not imported. In fact any schema ending in SYS is not imported.
This is because SYS is the datadictionary, and the datadictionary is automatically recreated during import.
If you have your own tables in the SYS schema, you will loose them, as you can't export SYS.
