can someone please let me know if there is a way to move all of the music i have in Media Player to itunes. Thank you

    * To import all the audio files in a folder, choose File Add Folder to Library, and then locate the folder containing the audio you want added to your library. The My Music folder (inside the My Documents folder) is often the default location for song files imported into other applications, such as MusicMatch.
By default, adding songs to your iTunes library places a pointer to each audio file in the iTunes Music folder; the original file remains in the current location. For information about copying files to the iTunes Music folder instead of referencing them, search help for "copying files to your music folder."
If the file is an unprotected WMA file and you have Windows Media Player Series 9 or later installed, iTunes makes a copy of the file in AAC format—or whatever format is chosen in the Advanced pane of iTunes preferences (in the Importing pane) —and adds it to your iTunes library. The original WMA file remains unchanged. You can't add protected WMA files or protected WMV files to iTunes.

I can't import my mp3 files from window media player to my ipod. Can anyone tell me in detail how this is done?

You'll first need to add the MP3s to your iTunes library since the iPod is not compatible with Windows Media Player. You can use, for example, the File > Add to Library menu to do this.

  • Moving music from Windows Media Player to iTunes

    Hi
Apologies if this is repeating what others have asked many times in the past - I know what these forums can get like sometimes! I have had a look around though and couldn't find a definitive answer, so...
I have to date put all my music in Windows Media player on my PC. I am now going to buy an ipod so, obviously, I need my music in iTunes.
Is it simply a case of copying the folders from 'My Music' into the iTunes version of 'My Music'? If so, where is the iTunes version of 'My Music'..?!
    Thanks
    Percy

FIrst before I say anything else, As of now its only...6:30am here on the east coast USA (Which means its 3AM in California) so the event has not taken place yet. Apple is very secritive about what there doing, and anything you hear is rumor til apple comes out, says what there doing/announcing and makes it fact.
Now that said, there has been RUMORS (So far) apple MIGHT release some type of new nano and/or video ipod along with an announcement they have made deals with hollywood to start selling movies on there US store.
I just wanted to give you a heads up just incase you was buying today and the rumors turned out to be true. I would of utterly hated for you me or anyone to buy an ipod today, and then later in the afternoon, or tommorrow apple release a new ipod. If that happend to me... I would be Cursing up a storm (Southern slang meaning I would be REALLY UPSET LOL)
Theres alot of news about the event along with rumors that have be heard, just not confirmed by apple yet. One of them is here

    Hello Rolando,
    Welcome to Sony Community.
You can directly transfer content by drag-and-drop to your computer from the below link:
    http://esupport.sony.com/docs/reader/PRST1/eng/contents/03/01/02/02.html?search=windows
Also, you can try the “SYNC” option in the Windows Media Player, after connecting the Reader to the Computer, for transferring the songs.
Refer the below link to check for the supported file types.

  • How can I consolidate my itunes music with Windows Media Player?

How can I consolidate my itunes music with Windows Media Player?

Ah, did you move your media files by hand? Often doing so will have broken the links from iTunes to them.
The "missing file" error happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to Get Info, then click No when asked to try to locate the track. (Due to a bug in iTunes 12 you currently have to say No twice!) Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, a folder renamed, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. If the difference between the two paths is an additional Music folder in one path then this is a layout issue. I can explain further if that is the case.
In some cases iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info but this time click Locate and browse to the lost track. It may then offer to attempt to automatically fix other broken links.
If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed the files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it hard to restore the media to the precise path that iTunes is expecting. In such cases, as long as the missing files can be found somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.

  • Upload Itune music to Windows media player

How to upload I tune music to windows media player?

There is nothing to transfer, and you don't need a CD.
Just find the files on your hard drive and play them, the same way you would play any other files in Windows Media Player.
If you hit a format problem, please post back.

How do I download music from Windows Media Player to itunes 7.5? I finally figured out how to download itunes to my computer but know I want to get music from Windows Media Player onto iTunes. What do I do? PLease Help!

Within iTunes use the add folder to library option available on file menu. Select the folder to add. iTunes will add the file to iTunes library. Depending on settings, iTunes may copy the file to iTUnes folder location.

  • Stoped Import form Windows Media Player, Cant Restart

I finally instaled Itunes yesterday and about 600 songs into my 1000 i accendently closed itunes and a now i can not get the import and the WAV convert stoped. Could someone please tell me how to get it back going again.

iTunes cannot import WMA protected songs.
Are these CDs you imported into Windows Media Player (WMP)?
If so, you will have to reimport them into iTunes from the CD.
Also, open WMP, Tools -> Options.
    Select the Copy Music tab.
    Deselect Copy Protect Music.
This will keep from apply DRM to any music you import using WMP.
This should not be a problem since you will be using iTunes for all imports in the future, correct?

  • Importing Playlists from Windows Media Player

I was wondering if there was any way I could transfer all of my music from my Windows Media Player library, to my iTunes library. I have tried import on the "File" button on iTunes, but it didn't work.
    Dell   Windows XP

If it' sprotectged WMA files, no you can't add them.
If they are plain WMA (like RIPped from a CD) you can File -> Add to library and iTunes will import and convert them.
