Importing Objects Locks the App

Every time I try to import objects/slides from another
presentation, Captivate locks up. I have to kill in in task manager
and nothing is imported. Has anyone else had this issue, or is it
what my office mate likes to refer to as "The Betsy Factor?"
The import works fine; however, it locks when I try to save
it.
Any suggestions? i REALLY don't want to have to start ovef if
I can help it.

Okay, thanks for the reply!
What I was asking was how large - in pixels - but we can work
with "23K" for now. The reason I asked about version and question
slides is that in Captivate 1, Question slides couldn't be
duplicated (copied and pasted) which of course included
"importing".
Here is how I "import slides". First, it is important to note
that the slides must be the same physical size in both projects -
especially if you are using the "File > Import" function. If you
are editing a project that measures 640 (pixels) by 480 (pixels),
the imported slides must come from a project the same size. But I
seldom, if ever, use the "Import" function . . .
I open two (2) instances of Captivate. One instance will have
open the current project I'm working on, and the other will have
open the project with the slides I want to copy to the first
project. Then I just "select" the slides (or "objects") and copy
them to the Windows clipboard (CTRL+C), then use the ALT+TAB
combination to jump to the other instance of Captivate, and paste
the contents of the clipboard (CTRL+V).
If I am concerned about getting placement right, I will first
place a "blank" slide in my working project, and "paste" everything
behind the blank slide, to isolate and identify it from the rest of
the project.

It depends what you mean by 'lock' if you mean keep the iPad on a specific app that's easy to do as long as you are updated to iOS 6 which from your device information I can see your iPad is updated to iOS 6.0.2. All's you have to do is go to Settings > General > Accessability > Guided Access > ON > Set Passcode (Set a passcode to lock an app onto the screen). Go back to the home screen and click the app you would like to lock onto. Press the home button three times quickly. You can then highlight certain parts of the app you would not like them to be able to press, disable touching or motion if thats what you need. Press start. To exit the locked app triple press the home button again and type in the passcode you set earlier. Press end in the top left corner. I hope this helped you but if by 'lock' you meant don't allow on the app this is not possible as of yet with the iOS software although some apps do allow you to lock them with a passcode or you could try restrictions in the settings menu but this only works with built in apps such as; camera, facetime, safari, downloading apps, siri etc.

Which utility - to input XML objects into the Apps through an API

We are just starting on XML Publisher in 11i10.2. We will need to automate the migration of saving templates into the apps through scripting so that new development can be migrated up our test environments and into production without human intervention.
Is anyone aware of where we can find information on utility to input XML objects into the Apps through an API?

Lock the app in Landscape orientation

I want to lock a app in landscape mode. So that i have used - (BOOL)shouldAutorotate { return NO;} and - (NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations { return UIInterfaceOrientationMaskLandscape;}. Till iOS7.0 it was working fine. But in iOS 8.1 My App is not getting landscape orientation. Even keyboard is not opening properly. Please suggest me if i am doing anything wrong. Or Apple has changed something in these methods.

Please help me open an iMovie trailer, moved to my iPad from my PC. I can view it on my iPad but am unable to import it into the app to edit it.

I created a trailer on an iPad at a workshop to use in my classroom. I retrieved it from my PC and can view it on my iPad mini, but the iMovie app won't open it. I need to edit it. I never said that a PP file moved to your ipad cannot be straight edited in keynote. Nor did I say that you needed a third party solution...
My response was to offer an option (Jump) because like many others, you're having problems.
Check out the app store and user Keynote reviews. There are more (by 1) 1 star ratings than 5 star ratings for the current version. There are 72 ratings of 3 or more stars while there are 78 ratings of one or two stars. In terms of statistical significance, the numbers are pretty equal, but I prefer to deal with an app that shows more top stars and fewer bottom stars. Some posters have been on here with your same question, so I'm thinking maybe, just perhaps, Keynote is not perfect.
Pro tech reviews vary, many given at the time it was released. Many do not point out that they actually used Keynote before the review. Google Keynote for more pro tech reviews where reviewers have actually used the app.

Trouble with amazon and screen locking the app with voiceover

This is really bugging me, when I want to listen to a book in my amazon kindle app. I can't seem to screen lock my ipod touch, so that I can put it in a pocket or something instead of carrying it around, does anyone know how to screen lock or screen curtain the screen, so that it doesn't go weird. Yes, I agree with this 100% - when listening, I can be doing other things, not looking at the screen. I figure 100% of the people using kindle portable devices are in agreement. My iPhone has a cover, but now I have bought yet a second case to put the first case in so that it covers the screen. But this is certainly not the optimum solution.

Importing objects onto the stage

I'm not really sure how to put this, so I hope someone understands...
Basically, is there a way to export an object from 3DS Max, and then import it into Director onto the stage? Say, I create an object for a user and export it, would the end user then be able to place the exported object into a folder on their computer, "press a button" (with some magical code involved) and have that object be imported onto the stage at a specific location?
I'm not looking for a walkthrough (at the minute!), I just wanted to know if it was possible. If it's not, does anyone have any idea of how it would be possible, if at all?

Yes, it is possible.
You might import their W3D as a cast member then cloneModelFromCastmember, or use loadFile on an existing W3D member. In either case you need an existing W3D castMember displayed on the stage as a sprite.

Every time I try to import video to the app, it crashes. Any help?

This has been happening for months now and I have been waiting for an update to fix it, thinking it was an app-wide problem, but no such update has come. I have no idea what to do at this point and am just becoming increasingly frustrated with the entire program.

Can you tell us what type of video file you are trying to import to iMovie please.
Try opening the file in QuickTime. If it opens and plays OK, from the menu select Window > Show Movie Inspector. In the Inspector, what does it show for Format and Frames Per Second (FPS)?
Any other information about the video will be helpful, including whether it was shot on a camera/camcorder (include Model No.) or whether it was downloaded or from another source.
Also, please indicate how you are importing the video.

How to lock just one app. In restriction there is a a setting to hide all app. I want just one app to lock..... So any app needed for this ?

You cannot restrict a single app unless it has a built in passcode or something similar. Your only choices are under the Restrictions settings.

I have messages button on bottom of screen and it has locked the apps from opening. Can't scroll down in settings.

the TabMixPlus extension has a feature for doing just this (and lots of other features i have come to use all the time, can't live w/o it)
the option is on the very bottom of the Events preference panel -> New Tabs tab in the TabMixPlus options window (see pic)

One of my lead developers has posed a question to me.......namely -
Does the APPS user have implicit select and delete privileges on custom objects without an explicit GRANT statement?

Please see (Step By Step Guide to Creating a Custom Application in Applications 11i [ID 216589.1]) which is applicable to R12 as well -- "Grant all privilege from each custom data object to the APPS schema" step.
Please also see (Step 9. Integrate your database objects with the APPS schema by granting APPS the access to your custom schema’s objects) in (Integrating Custom Applications with Oracle Applications [ID 176852.1).

How do you lock the ipad so only one app can be used

I want to force a student to communicate using an ipad communication app. I want the only thing on the screen to be that one app. How do I lock the app so it is the only one that can be used on the ipad? Is there a way to lock a page? ie when he has navigated to the correct page to prevent the child from exiting and make him make a choice from that page?

To try and lock a web browser to a single page you'll need to investigate third-party browsers such as MobiCIP or the McGruff browser and see if they allow you to lock to a single page. Safari in iOS 6 or earlier has no controls and in iOS 7 allows you to restrict to a given site or set of sites but not to a single web page.
