Importing of Pages

Hi All,
When I am importing a (.epa) file using a Transport package, all the objects (i-Views, worksets etc...) are getting transported and they are visible in the PCD also. Also for the pages, no errors are coming but the pages are not visible in the PCD. Linked objects not available is the error for pages in PCD.
Please propose a solution for this.

Transporting and migrating objects must be defined when the PCD is configured. This includes information about the storage of:
u2022        Import and export files
u2022        Log files
u2022        Temporary files to be transported or migrated
Within portal administration, you can check and view the configuration information of the PCD. In the administrator role choose System Administration ® Support. The Support Desk is opened. Click on Portal Content Directory in the main area. Click on PCD Configuration in the test and configuration tools. The next screen shows all the parameters currently maintained for the PCD.
You can find the settings for the transport and migration in the sections Parameters for Portal Content Migration and Parameters for Transport Application.
The following table explains the portal-specific formats of the objects that can be transported:
Transport Object, Format :
1.Creation of Transport Object Packages with EP 6.0 content objects EPA (Enterprise Portal Archive): This is a portal-specific format for compressed files.
2.Content objects in an EPA package EPT (Enterprise Portal Transport) Packages with EP 5.0 content objects, e.g. business packages     PKG (package)
3. Content objects in a PKG package :There are different object-specific formats (a separate format for each object type) All are done within portal administration
This variable value defines the location of the PCD configuration file. In a clustered environment, this should be a central location (that is, shared between all server nodes of a cluster) in order to provide a common configuration for the whole cluster.
The value of PCD.Home is defined by default by the J2EE Engine. A shared global directory, that is used by all the applications of the J2EE Engine, is used. The global directory for the PCD resides at /usr/sap//sys/global/pcd.
The pcdStartUp.properties file contains all the configuration parameters for the PCD. These configuration parameters refer, for example, to the following areas: PCD trace, lock service, generic layer, ACL service, transport service, and migration.
You activate write-protect mode for this configuration file in Visual Administrator.

I am working on my thesis with several Pages documents (for the first time). And I really have searched all over the Internet to find an answer to exactly my question but I cannot find it.
First my question was: How can I import one Pages document into another one? I found the answer on that (I think) and there is nothing else than just make a new section and copy/paste it in.
But then another issue pops up: I cannot [cmd]+A my whole document including the texboxes to paste it in the other Pages document. Then the document will be paste without the textboxes (and I have quite a lot of them in that document) and the text will not be at the right place.
So please explain to me: How I can combine two Pages documents and keep them exactly the way they are? Is that even possible?

I have already tried to mark the textboxes in line but that did not work, and besides then the text and the boxes won't be at the rigt places either. Thank you for your reply .

How to import a page from one workspace to another workspace appication ?

In oracle apex 4.1 version :-
I am trying to import one page from a application which is present in one workspace to another application which is present in another workspace.
In which way could i import that export page to a workspace?

there are 2 ways to do it.
if your confidant and the page is not exist in the imported application then then modify the script
look for the following like should be at the begging of the script change the workspace id with your imported workspace id
wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=>nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id,25719530510628410));
and change the application id
prompt Set Application ID...
begin
-- SET APPLICATION ID
wwv_flow.g_flow_id := nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_application_id,100);
second option is
export the full application form workspace 1 and import into WS2
in WS2 open the application where you want to copy the page. open any page and click on the Create drop down menu and select new page as copy then select Page in another application and follow the screens.

Import a page from one workspace to another

We have basically the same application in more than one developer's workspace. A page in one workspace got deleted, and so we would like to export the page from one developer's workspace and import it to the developer with the missing page.
Is this possible? If not, what is the easiest way to do this, short of exporting and importing the whole application?

I believe if the application #'s are the same, you MIGHT be able to export the one page from the app into the other workspace and import the page into th eapp missing the page..

Export and Import a page from one application to another within same WKSPCE

Hello,
Can anyone help me out in moving a page from one application to another within the space workspace. I tried to export it and then import the page, but I am not able to do that. I think the problem is with the application IDs.

This U can get it, through copying the page from one application to another application within the same workspace
In the top of the page, you have "copy" option.

Importing photobook pages into a new photobook

I've got a lot of experience working with PSE project files but I can't figure out how to take a page from an existing PSE project file and copy it into another project file. I've tried dragging and dropping (doesn't work), and can't seem to find a menu command for importing a page from a PSE file. does anyone have any advice?

Here's what I've figured out....
For me, there's no real reason to have an Event called "Photostream May 2012" (or whatever the case may be). I think it just ends up taking up hard drive space and kind of ruins the flow of photos events I have in iPhoto.
BUT, I do like the ability to take photos on my iPad and then import them into iPhoto without having to connect my iPad physically to my iMac.
SO, I simply go into Photostream and select a group of photos that I would consider one "event" and drag them to "Events" at the top left section of iPhoto. This imports the photos into the "May 2012 Photo Stream" event (or whatever the name of the Photostream even may be that month.)
I then create a new event (Event-->Create Event), and drag and drop that Photostream into the new event. The new event is now a separate, individual event, not a Photostream event which can cause issues when you want to later import additional Photostream photos into iPhoto.
If you have multiple events you want to import, basically do the same thing. You can either split them in the Photostream event or split them from within the new event.
Until Apple changes the functionality of how a new event is created when you drag a set of photos from Photostream into iPhoto, I think we will have to use these additional steps. (I also think this is one of the reasons why the there is a function called "Create Event". At this time, I can't think of any other reason why that command exists.)

Make Data Merge import certain page of pdf or indesign document

I don't know if it is possible but can you make Data Merge import certain page of pdf or indesign document, this would be great addition for indesign

Here are a couple of questions that might help understand what might need to be done to achieve your request:
* How do you propose to identify the desired page(s) within a PDF and an ID document, so the merge field placeholder knows how to find it?
* How do you propose to keep track of the page if they're re-ordered in an updated document?
* What if the identification marker is within text and flows to a different page - would you want to retrieve the original page (before the reflow) or the new page to which the marker would have flowed?
Perhaps the scripters could comment on the possibility of scripting these.

We are having a problem when exporting and
importing a page, which has tabs, and a
user has customized the portlets on one
tab. This looks like a bug,but thought I will
ask here for any workarounds or settings I
might have missed.
Steps to recreate the problem:
- login as portal30
- Create a page with tabs.
- Grant customization privs to
authenticated_users
- create a user(say testuser)
- login as testuser.
- customize the tab, by adding a portlet.
- logout.
- export the page using pageexp.csh
- login as portal30 and delete the page.
- import the page.
- login as testuser and you will see that
the customized tab is missing!
- As a workaround(a bad one..) I tried
to delete the user ( as portal_sso) and
created it again...but the problem still
exists ie the customized tab has
disappeared.
Any help or information is appreciated.

Import XML Page through Unix Box

Hi,
I have created say xxx.xml page. Now I want to import this in database, so I am using import command from command prompt C:\jdev\jdevbin\jdev\bin.
So to Import any page, I would require C:\jdev\jdevbin\jdev\bin and import utility on my local machine.
Is there any way to import pages in to database from unix server, so that I don't have to install JDEV folder on my local machine.

I have a web page that was created in another HTML editor.

Importing a page

I have imported a page from one application to another application int the same workspace. After importing the page it runs very slow in the new application (but all the functions works fine). Do I have to do any change after importing the file?

You didn't say if the page you want to import is from another Pages document. If it is, you can copy its thumbnail, then paste it into the new document. If it's not from a Pages file, when all is said and done, I think the easiest way is to copy and paste.
You create a My Templates item by doing a File > Save As Template. Pages will create the My Templates folder if none exists.

c:import import jsf page

I make one template jsf page (buttons.jspx) with backing bean and pageDef.
Than I make page (employees.jpx) in which I put page buttons.jspx with <c:import url="../../../template/buttons.jspx>, but when I make second page (department.jspx) in which I put again same import (<c:import url="../../../template/buttons.jspx"/>) my page department.jpsx have double page buttons.jspx.
How can I fix that.
My idea is create a lot number of import pages and then in parent page only include that child page with import tag.

Hi Frank.
I resolve this problem. For all components in import (template page) page must be set ID! If component not have Id than component repeat when use same import in calling pages. If you ask me why component not have id? That is because I turn off auto binding option.
Problem with bindings names are resolve.
When use binding for imported page in calling binding with : "bindings.template_PageDefName." in stead of "binding." and all work perfect.

Import html pages created in Dreamweaver Cs3

I have many pages for online training created in Dreamweaver.
Can I import them into Captivate somehow? I have created them with
templates. Will those templates work in Captivate?

Captivate won't be able to
import those pages but should be able to record them as you
display them.
Even though they were created using templates I'd be totally
surprised if you were able to use them (as templates) in Captivate.
Dreamweaver is a totally different animal than Captivate is.

Exporting and Importing a page from Development to QA to Production

We have tried in various ways to export a simple page (it has only one HTML portlet) and import it into another Portal 309 instance.
The page imports fine (always imports with PORTAL30 as the owner!!) except HTML portlet. For some reason HTML portlet never gets imported. We tried with a calendar portlet and it gets imported fine. We don't have content areas etc. It is a simple Page with one HTML Portlet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is such a simple thing not easy enough?

Try to import the html portlet first. Check the portlet respository, see if the html portlet is in the respository.
Then import the page.

Importing a page giving errors after upgrade to APEX 4.2.3

We upgraded from APEX 4.2.1. Now we cannot import a page get error:
Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-20001: Error creating page name="Dashboard" id="56" ORA-02291: integrity constraint (APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_STEP_UI_FK) violated - parent key not found
Is there anybody that found a workaround?

There is a patch that is available that fixes exactly this problem.. see this thread for more info
