Importing over and over again

Every time I import a jpg to my IPhoto, it imports EVERYTHING i have imported over the last few months. The import from my camera card is not affected. What this means is that all pictures I have received by email, all JPGs I have downloaded from scrapbook sites and even some of the headings , buttons and photos from web site downloads I have done. I delete the unwanted files and that takes several minutes and all is good until I try to import a new photo for the above sources. Then I get all the old stuff from the last 10 or 15 imports show up again. IF I click the button that says do not import duplicates, it doesn't matter because I have deleted the 50 or so images form my IPhoto so it imports them again. How can I stop this from happening? It is driving me crazy!! Not that that is such a far drive! LOL

A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

Hi Liu, It could be a bunch of things, but as a start point I would suggest: 1) The Reports & Forms path being entered in Contract Management Administration is incorrect. If working with Multi-Project Reports or Group Level Letter Templates, the incorrect path may be located in the Primavera Administrator Utility (admincm.cmd). 2) Make note of the data model or report being referenced in the error message. Locate that affected data model or report on the BI Publisher server, and remove it. Then attempt to Import Reports and Forms again. Best regards, Matías

Bug: Why does PP Conform and reconform same video clips over and over again?

Any time I click out of PP and then come back to the program from ANYWHERE (even the desktop), PP starts to conform my files.
For example, I have a very simple test project open with four 5-minute clips in it. All the files have done their "conforming." But I click outside of PP and then immediately click back inside and it starts conforming one or more of the files that it had already previously conformed. This happens every other time I click out of PP.
Shouldn't a file that has already been conformed need to go through that just one time in a project?
I'm thinking that my bug has something to do with this now since things go crazy slow while conforming. It has always done this with larger projects, but I thought it was clips that hadn't been conformed before. Now that I only have a few clips to keep my eye on, I see it is conforming and reconforming the same clips over and over again every time I come back to PP.

I'll describe what happens first, as it makes the explanations of the failure cases a little more clear.
PPro generates two potential sidecar files for audio - PEK and CFA files. The PEK file is simply a quick data pass of the audio data that allows the app to draw waveforms (ie it should be pretty quick) - the CFA files are required if the file source is either too slow to decode the audio in realtime (like some MPEG long GOP, for instance), or if there's a mismatch in the sample rate depth. The idea is that the conform files will match your sequence's audio bitrate settings so that the app can play & mix audio in realtime.
How does PPro track these additional files? Every file that is imported is stamped with XMP, which is how we handle metadata on source files. XMP creates a unique ID which the app uses as a lookup value when it wants to find the PEK & CFA files that it generated for a file. So, usually, if you have a project where certain clips constantly reconform, it has something to do with XMP. Why? Usually it's because XMP can't write to the file. So, every time you launch PPro and open the same project, the media file has no XMP data, so it tries to generate a new ID, so any old CFA/PEK files have an ID mismatch and the app thinks it needs to generate new ones.
Typical cases why XMP can't stamp files:
- the media file is read-only.
- the media's hard drive is read-only.
- the file itself is corrupted/malformed, and XMP takes the safe route & decides not to try to write any additional data to the file. (I've personally witnessed this occur with WAV files captured by a Tascam field recorder.)
- someone deleted the XMP files by hand (certain media types have it as a sidecar .XMP file instead of embedded). (Don't laugh - I recently encountered a case where people had instituted a server folder rule to delete all files on a network share that weren't .mpg. )
A workaround you can try:
There's a preference setting to turn off injecting XMP into your media. If that setting is in effect, PPro will not rely on the XMP ID for the CFA/PEK files.
One other note, if your problem is specific to MPEG files: it might be that PPro isn't able to index the file properly. If it can't index, it might be trying to re-index on each launch; audio conforming always triggers after indexing. So watch for it constantly indexing - if that's the case, all the XMP stuff I described above has nothing to do with the problem. It's a side effect of something in the MPEG stream that we're barfing on. If you do see it constantly re-indexing MPEG files, it would be really helpful to send in a sample so that we can examine the stream.

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Every time I want to log in to my Hotmail account I have to type my password over again, and every time I log in I try to save my password. I have tried hundreds of times, but it seems impossible. What am I doing wrong?

When A person want to log in to a hotmail account to read or send an E-mail, one have to enter the e-mail adress and password. There is also a small square you can mark i you want Firefox to save your password so that you don't have to enter password every time you log in to the e-mail account (in this case hotmail)
Every time I log in to hotmail I mark the square so that Frefox will save my password, but my password has never been saved. I'm so tired of always having to enter my password, over and over again.

* Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
* Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

I have a current iPhone 5 with all my apps and games at certain levels, how do I use iCloud to transfer current game levels as only a few games have transferred and other games want me to start all over again on my new iPad?

I currently have an iPhone 5 that I play games on regularly and I have just bought the iPad 4 and I want to transfer all my game progress from the iPhone to the iPad. I have turned on iCloud on both devices and backed up and while all my games transfer only some of the games maintain progress where others want me to start all over again. I pretty sure I doing something wrong... Can some help or give me idiot proof guidance on how do do this successfully. I'm generally pretty tech savvy but this has me stumped and iCloud is ment to be easy to use.

I would not be able to give you idiot proof guide, since different games are different. Some of them have icloud integrated already, but those already taken care of. Some of them use specific logins and once you log - you get your info. General recommendation is to contact support sites of those games for enabling icloud instructions or enabling of transfer. There are other purely apple ways - like sync your phone in itunes and then sync apps with ipad, but those are only one time transfer. There is another way that is not typically recommended - restoring ipad from iphone backup. It may transfer your game content, but once again sync in the future has to be done by game.
So if I were you, I would address that individually with every game provider.

Can't find printer over and over again

Every time I try to print, I have to use the Wireless Setup Wizard AGAIN and type in my network password AGAIN until my computer finds my printer AGAIN. Then I can print.... until I can't AGAIN and I have to do all this AGAIN. This has become a royal pain. I can only print consecutively IF it is still printing while I send it the next thing to print. If my printer is finished printing one page, and then a minute later I send it something else to print, the computer can no longer find the printer so I do all these steps over again.
I'm on a Mac that is about a year old, if that, runniong Mac OS 10.9.5 . My HP 7520 used to print with no issues when I got it a few months ago. I don't think I was running 10.9 at the time, or at least not 10.9.5 . At some point I upgraded my OS so I wonder if that's when the problem started - but I don't know for sure. Another issue is that my ipad can no longer find my printer, either, so I can no longer use Air Print to print from that device directly.
Please give me the steps to correct this once and for all. This is my third HP and I'm starting to regret this purchase.

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the printer keeping a wireless connection to the Mac.
I do have few suggestions that we can try.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also located a document that deals with when the Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.

HT1977 My Computer crashed so I have had to download iTunes all over again. The problem is now I can't sync my Apps to my iTunes. It doesn't let me arrange them or anything when plugging my iPad in. The screen is greylike and won't let me select anything

My computer crashed and I lost everything. I got a new one and downloaded itunes all over again. When I plug my ipad in even after authorising my computer it will still not let me edit anything on the ipad. The screen is grey like on the ipad section and i cant select an app or anything. I have transfered purchase apps but all it does is take movies and tv shows accross. It wont transfer the apps into itunes. Please help

As far as I know, iTunes will still not change anything until you click on Apply in the lower right corner. I fiddle with my settings all the time - just so I can get a sense if what to expect should I make any changes - and I have never seen anything happen to my configuration unless I click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes. Not only that - you have turned off auto sync so as far as I know you still have to click on sync or apply in order for the iPad to sync with iTunes.
That doesn't mean it will not happen, I've never seen it happen - is all that I'm saying. I'm sorry but I'm not sure what will happen, but the only reason that I can of why the apps will not transfer is because of the manual manage setting. I could be wrong about that as well.
Look at this discussion - which I have referred quite a few users to read. I know this process has worked for a number of people that have read it and used the instructions in it. Maybe we are missing something - what that would be - I'm not quite sure, but take a look.

If you have a spare cable, try using that. But the fact that this doesn't happen on your other computer (I assume using the same old cable) leads me to conclude that something else is at work. Maybe even the "bad" computer.

Data acquisition time not continuous, but starting over and over again

Hi,
My data acquisition time is not continuous but loops over and over
again. Could someone please take a look at my vi to see if you
have any thoughts on how to fix this. Also, I tried to set up my
vi so that I could take the mean of the signal at any time I
choose. However, at the same instance that the data acquistion
time "starts over" again, the mean is calculated (before I trigger it to take the mean)
I have attached my vi and my output file as a text file so that what
I'm trying to say will (hopefully) make a bit more sense.

comments as to what I think I am doing. By DAQ time, I mean the
first column of data that is in the data file that I attached
previously. I am only simulating a signal (at the beginning) so
that I can program in my office. I do, however, have the same
problem as stated above when I change the simulate signal to DAQmx
using my instrument.

Photoshop CS6 quitting unexpectedly over and over again

hello i have been having a problem with photoshop CS6 on my Macbook pro. whilst using a Wacom tablet to do digital art it keeps closing unexpectedly with an error message that says "photoshop quit unexpectedly. click reopen to open the application again. this report will be sent to apple automatically" and bellow that are a variety of details that involve numbers and letters to which i cannot understand. i keep reopening photoshop but it keeps closing over and over again with the same error message. can someone please help me?

The above containes a link for XP. Also. make sure you install the correct Apple software, It comes in 32 and 64 bit and you need the one that is the same as the computer OS
