Importing personal certificate from pfx file

Using iPhone configuration utility 3.5.0, Is it poosible to import a perosnal certificate using a .pfx file.
When I try to miport it only lists certificates in the personal certificate store on windows machine? It doesn't allow me to import a certificate from a file.

I am pretty sure that you can mail this certificate to an email account you can access on your iPad. Then when you open the certificate file it will be imported

• E61 cannot import personal certificate

Hello,
I can't import personal certificate. I have personal certificate in p12 (pkcs12) format and it can be imported into firefox without any issues. However when I open this certificate on E61 I am asked for:
password for my certificate - I enter correct one
E61 proceeds to to Screen where it says:
File contains:
1 private key
1 personal certificate
1 authority certificate
Save? When I click on save I get message:
Private key corrupted!
then it proceeds to CA which works fine.
What I am doing wrong? Kindly assist as this is show stopper in 170K+ employees company.

Hi,
I'm not only unlucky, I'm frustrated! :-(
I've got exactly the same problem. Modell: E65.
In our company around 50000 users are already using personal certificates, generated using an openssl pki framework.
Installing/migrating/running a Windows-PKI instead, only for importing P12-Files into our Nokia mobile's is not a solution nor an option.
All our user-certificates (Server-,Client-,Multi-Level-CA-Certificates) are working fine within standard-protocols and standard applications (e.g. IMAPS, VPN/IPSec, WPA-EAP-TTLS/TLS, HTTPS, LDAPs,...), even within Microsoft's client-appilcations (IE / Outlook) there are no problems importing / using them for encryption, authentication or signing purposes.
So there should be no problem, regarding the import into a E65?!
I tried to convert some demo-certificates various ways, exported, converted them to DER, build different P12-formated files but not chance: the E65 always reports "File corrupted".
I also followed the instruction found under
https://blogs.forum.nokia.com/view_entry.html?id=412
So I tried to download a p12-Container directly from a test-webserver using the correct mime-type, no luck: Corrupted File!
But on the other hand, any p12-file, which the E65 says is corrupted, could be imported into IE/Firefox/Outlook/Thunderbird (the later two on windows & linux plattforms) or opened/investigated using openssl (0.9.8c and 0.9.8d) on the command line without any problems.
The hint (two posts above), creating certificates using MS-AD-integrated PKI gave me a small hope again. (Please do not understand me wrong, migrating all our user/server certs and PKI-Infrastructure to MS is completly impossible, but a small test will show whether out p12-Files cause the corruption problems).
So I imported (doubleclick, windows wizard...) the openssl-generated p12 into IE (flagged "exportable") without problems. Right after the import, I exported it various ways (e.g. w/o stong encryption) into a MS-pfx (aka p12) formated file. Renamed the suffix from pfx to p12 and gave it to openssl for processing / investigation:
openssl pkcs12 -in testuser.p12 -info
Enter Import Password:
MAC Iteration 2000
MAC verified OK
PKCS7 Data
Shrouded Keybag: pbeWithSHA1And3-KeyTripleDES-CBC, Iteration 2000
Bag Attributes
localKeyID: 01 00 00 00
friendlyName: {EE88EF5C-5404-487C-AB22-AA56E79D447C}
Microsoft CSP Name: Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0
Key Attributes
X509v3 Key Usage: 10
Ok the content seems to be in "Microsoft CSP" format!!! (remembering two posts earlier, that's the container-format MS-PKI produces, so a successfull import of this file should be possible?!.... No way either!!! "File corrupted!"
Another point: during my first p12 import try I used a corporate-standard-p12 file, that means, it contains:
1 x User-Cert
1 x User-Key
1 x Intermediate-level-CA-Cert
1 x Root-level-CA-Cert
The E65 successfully imported the two CA-Certs, ask for a name and stored them under "Authorities". They are accessible within S60 (Security->certif.manag) and anything is fine with them. But the also contained user-certificate and the user-key resulted in "File Corrupted!". :-(
So, for me in the moment it looks really that there is a bug in S60-3rdEd. (E65). Our certificate-containers are as far as I can say completly standard conform all software (opensource/closed source) can read/import our p12-contents without problems, even the E65 can partialy (CA-Certs) read the p12 contents (but not the user-cert/key). :-(
I would be very happy if someone else can confirm the above results and even more happy if someone else can give me more ideas where to look for a possible solution.
What I'm missing is an exact specification from Nokia/Symbian, regarding the P12 contents. That means, Certificate/Key Encryption, Formats, Hash-Algorithms, Iterators, Mac-Iterators, and so on... If such an specification would be available/accessible chances are good to be able to generate a valid p12 file containing importable private keys. Information like DER/PEM and mime-type that's by far not enough.
Because I was not able to find such details specs, all I can offer in the moment is to generate test certificates and p12-container-files for further in-deep debugging?!
If it is not a bug of S60-3rdEd. perhaps someone else reading this thread can offer a MS-PKI-generated (and of course successfully imported ins S60) p12-File (even revoked should not be a problem) with all passphrases for download, so I can try to investigate in deep the formats and the differences?
Many thanks for your help!
Cheers
Krum

• How to import a logo from flat file to SAP in SMARTFORM.

how to import a logo from flat file to SAP in SMARTFORM. i need to know whether TIFF format is used and also the full steps.
Thanks,

Hi,
You can not directly use a logo from a file into a Smart form. First you will have to upload it to SAP. This has to be done only once. Once it is imported into SAP then you can use it in smart form. To import a logo to SAP, goto SE78. Open the tree under GRAPHICS. Select the file type and click on the Import (first button on the toolbar, just before delete button). Select the logo file and give it some appropriate name along with description. Select appropriate type of the image and click Continue. Your logo will be uploaded into SAP from a file. Now in your smartform, Create a Graphic Node, give the name of the logo along with other properties. In this way you can import a logo from a flat file into SAP and consequently in a smart form.
Reward points if the answer is helpful.

• Extracting openvpn certificates from ovpn file

Hi,
I was curious about how to extract openvpn certificates from the ovpn configuration file,
basically on the ovpn config we have:
<ca>
begin/ end certificate
</ca>
<cert>
begin / end certificate
</cert>
<key>
begin / end rsa private key
</key>
normally when we use the file like openvpn --config file.ovpn it works, but on some network manager versions you cannot import correctly.
How can we extract the certificates from command line?
Any explanation to also the purpose of each certificate and how it's generated and used would be much appreciated.

You can extract the certificates with cut and paste, with any graphical editor like gedit, kate, or even vi. Remember that you must introduce into the remaining file (i.e., what remains after you have removed the cryptographic keys) instructions as to where to find the keys:
ca /path/to/ca.crt
cert /path/to/name.crt
key /path/to/name.key
A simple introduction to how to generate the certificates can be found, for example, in the wiki: search for ": Create a Public Key Infrastructure Using the easy-rsa Scripts." Basically, there is a series of scripts that will take care of this for you.
As to the mathematical meaning of cryptographic keys, it is too complex to be easily accessible to anyone not doing a Ph.D. in number theory. But you can easily find amusing popular articles just about everywhere, beginning with Scientific American.

• Photoshop Elements 10 not importing GPS data from xmp file

PSE 10 is not importing GPS information from the xmp file. Lightroom correctly records the
GPS data but this info in not brought in when I add the photo to the PSE 10 catalog. Has anyone experienced
the same problem?

The Google map module and geotagging have only just been added to LR4, released this week. There is no longer a map feature in Elements since Adobe dropped the earlier tie-up with Yahoo. Adobe reserves the right to change and amend partner services and this has disappointed many users of previous versions of PSE. It’s possible that the map could be re-introduced into future versions of PSE but don’t count on it and given the significant price cut on LR4, the decision could be strategic.

• How to import the subtitles from m2ts file ?

Hello !!
I have a problem with subtitles. Some time ago I did Blue Ray, including subs (using import from txt file). Unfortunatelly after I deleted all project I recognized that my BD DL disc is not working, only part written on first layer can be play .
Now, I copied m2ts files directly from BD and wanted to make BD again (maybe 2 x discs). Those m2ts files has embedded subtitles -some players show it in the file properities and they can display it.
Question is:
How to import them to Adobe Encore CS5 ? Why AE are not recognize them ?
BR
Marcin

It's a multiplexed transport stream, not something editable.
To get the subtitles out, you need an (illegal) ripper that will demux the transport streams.

I deleted several certificates before I decided it was a bad idea - too late ... many of my frequently visited sites won't validate at all or, will come up in plain text vs. html. Those sites still work in Explorer so, logic says I could import trusted certificates.

You need to export the certificates in IE and import them in the Firefox Certificate Manager.

• Importing special characters from text file

My project requires me to import a text file into a dynamic
text field by using the loadVariables() function. My problem is
that the text file contains a ampersign "&" . It seems that the
ampersign stops the rest of the text from being imported into my
flash movie. Is there a special character or escape character that
I can use to allow me to import the ampersign?
I've tried using the & and setting my dynamic text
field to HTML. No luck. Oh.. I'm using flash MX :(
Any ideas?

Hey I've run into this problem and found the solution lies
with JavaScript which can read the text just fine and then parse it
back to Flash as escape characters:
//JavaScript code:
var origText = 'blah blah & then i did this & then
blah blah";
var newText = String(escape(origText).replace(new
RegExp('\\+', 'g'), '%2b'));
FlashWin.sendText(newText); // << this is a reference
to a flash window with ExternalInterface enabled
// end
However, I was using HttpRequest in JS to get my original
data. So this method is dependent on something other than Flash to
retrieve the original text (with ampersands).
I really hope they fix this bug in the future, it can drive
you nuts....

• Problem importing specific data from .csv file

Hello!
I'm using JDev 11.1.3.0 with JSF ui and I've been following the excellent example about importing comma separated values from a .csv file, of Mr. Bors, but I have a specific problem...
1) When i try to import a date value (format dd/mm/yyyy) to a date field of my adf table, the date won't be accepted and it's not shown (I'm using Row.setAttribute("Field", textValue) for that purpose). I guess I have to enter it in a specific format but don't know how!
2) Same thing with double values. Tried 1.50 and it's showing on the adf table 0.02. Tried 1,50 (with a different text separator) and it's throwing me an error and doesn't show anything on the table (again i'm using Row.setAttribute("Field", textValue) for that one too)...
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you
Edited by: Nikolas Saridakis on 6 Νοε 2010 11:10 πμ

I tried your suggestion before I set my question but didn't know if I was looking on the right direction (I tried some things but they didn't work out). After a bit poking everything was fine...
So I used
Row.setAttribute("Field_name", oracle.jbo.domain.Date.fromText(value, "dd/mm/yyyy", null));
and it did the trick...
Weird thing about numbers was that after that, they were entered properly on the table with a normal Row.setAttribute("Field_name", value); with value being a String... anyway!
Thank you Timo!

• Can Lightroom recognize and import gps coordinates from xmp files?

Hello guys
i have LR 4.2 and using Lion with a MBP.
I recently got gps4cam for my iphone to record gps coordinates.
Unfortunately i imported all the pix of my vacation to LR instead of importing them with the gp24cam app first
so Now i have the xmp files with gps coordinates in a separate file for each photo, but LR even though ca see that file, does not import any of the info on it
Is there a way to force LR to read and recognize those gps coordinates without having to delete all the pix of my vacation from LR, and re-import them to my mac before with the gps4cam app and afterwards import em in LR.?
i mean i cant believe there is not way to do that...
y LR can read and recognize gps coordinates if are on a picture, but cant recognize and attach those same coordinate to the original fine if they are in a separate xmp file?
thanks for your input guys
matteo

I would process differently:
Import your images as usual directly into LR, without the GPS data
copy the gpx-track from your external device to a storage sport from where LR can access it (my choice: same folder as my images).
Use either the map module to populate LR records with the GPS data (as stated by jim1403) or a plugin from Jeffrey Friedl for geo-encoding.
If you want to have the GPS data in your xmp, trigger the save from LR then (cmd s; may be auto-activated in your catalog settings)
Please note that several import problems have been reported by using other software before LR to update something. Do not let your GPS tracking software touch your images, especially if it offers to write into your proprietary raw files, at least not into your only copy of them... I consider this way too dangerous for my precious negatives. If it also creates xmp, then fine.
I am also a happy user of MotionX-GPS.
The real disdavantage of the LR command to read metadata from files is that it is all-or-nothing: it would be so convenient if one could choose which partial sort of metadata (EXIF, IPTC, development, GPS-coordinates, rating+caption+title) - but that would be a matter of a feature request, not for this forum.

• Aperture does not import jpg:s from certain files.

After reassembled all the programs to a new hard drive in Mac Pro, Aperture does not import certain files with .jpg -photos. Earlier it has succeeded. Changing the photo location does not help. Nor importing as projects. Files are visible when asking to import but the thumbs are not seen on Aperture window.

, I see only the file, where these photos are, not the photo names or thumbs inside the file (Aperture import path).
You mean in the Aperture Import panel the folder, where the jpegs should be, is empty?
Then you may have excluded jpegs from import in your "Import Settings".
Check the above settings in the "Import Settings" options in the "Import Window". I.e-make sure the Raw+Jpeg Pairs option is set to "Both", even if you do not import raws.
After reassembled all the programs to a new hard drive in Mac Pro
Is this new Harddrive your system volume? And are the jpegs you wat to import located on this drive? Or are the on another external volume? If yes, how is this volume formatted?
Have you checked the permissions and ownership of the jpegs?
