Importing Phonebook from Motorola Razr

I have a Motorola Razr and want to import my entire phonebook into Address Book. I have bluetooth and isync setup but can't seem to get the numbers off the phone into Address Book. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I've been doing a little bit of searching and found this site:
http://mac.themotoguide.com/getconnected.php
If you use a Verizon Razr, it's a very complicated process in which you have to reflash your phone to a different firmware, and mod it to be able to use the verizon network. This is because Verizon altered the firmware on the razr so that you can't connect it to a computer (because they want you to BUY their ringtones, etc.) Any company that would do something like that won't get my business. I use Cingular, and the Cingular razrs should be able to connect fairly easy using the above link's instructions.
EDIT: I just found some additional info. Apparantly you can sync your phone with Apple iSync (built into Tiger.)

  • How to input pictures  from Motorola RAZR phone to iMac

    Hi Guys,
I would like to know how to input pictures from my RAZR phone to my iMac. I used a USB cable that I ordered from AT&T and nothing happened. What software do I need for my iMac?
    Thanks for your help,

    Hi,
I downloaded Bitpim but it doesn't list RAZRphone V3 as supported. I found the receipt for my phone and it is 4 years old. Bluetooth on the iMac is enabled, and is enabled on the phone. But when I enter "find me" on the phone, it shows it is paired with the iMac, but not connected. Then it says, it is not supported on the phone. I get an error on the iMac that says "An error occurred with the modem. Try reconnecting, if problem continues, verify your settings and contact your administrator." I'm lost.

  • Import phonebook from E50 to 3120 Classic

Dear fellows, I've just exchanged from E50 to 3120 Classic phone. Before returning E50 I backed up my phonebook in my 1Gb memory card, and each contact appeared as a vcf file. Then, I put the memory card into my 3120, and the files are there, but 3120 does not recognize the vcf files as phonebook entries.
How do I solve this? What is the file type that 3120 works with and how can I convert vcf files into this?
I really appreciate your help, since I have 200+ contacts which I do not intend to type one by one into my new phone.
    Thanks a lot!
    Cheers,
    Rodrigo

well the fundamental issue is that you have moved from a business oriented device to a very basic phone, e50 is a s60 phone 3120 is a s40 phone they work on different platforms therefore compatability is an issue here. did you try to copy your contacts to the sim card while using the e50 and then just swap the sim card to your new phone? a new sim card - under 2 years old or so should have capacity for up to 250 contacts. ifyou say that you have only about 200 you should be able to do so without any issues.

  • Transfer contacts from Motorola Razr to iPhone - or - Mac Address Book

Got the iPhone a few hours ago and have talked to Support at Apple, AT&T and Motorola. Yikes! No one can get mea straight answer. I'd like to transfer to 150 phone numbers in my old Razr phone to my Mac Address book or straight to my new iPhone. Let's just say it has been a very frustrating afternoon. Can anyone help resolve this dilemma?

It looks like my phone is mentioned as compatible with iSynch, but I don't know what that means. When I the Mac Bluetooth discovers the phone device, it creates folders for audio, pictures and video. That's pretty much it.
I switched to Mac about 6 weeks ago so I'm still not up to speed with a lot of this stuff.
Any other thoughts? Thanks for your comments.

  • ISync and Motorola RAZR

I have one of the original RAZR's and a MacBook Pro running 10.4.11. I've been using Motorola Phone Tools on a PC and syncing with Outlook without issue. When I bought my Mac, I wanted to sync with it instead. Tried exporting contacts from Outlook and importing in Address Book. No dice. Created entries from scratch. I deleted all contacts off my phone and used iSync. Many entries not copied to phone, and MANY entries in Address Book lose their numbers and addresses. I re-sync with Phone Tools to get original contacts back on my phone, and then match up entries from Address Book and phone manually. Did this:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1320120&tstart=0 <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1320120&tstart=0>
Then run iSync again, and I get duplicate entries on both the phone and in Address Book. For a company that wants people to switch from PC's to Macs, this doesn't work very well.

The Verizon Wireless-supplied Motorola RAZR V3c is explicitly supported only by the latest release of iSync—version 2.2—which is a part of the Mac OS X 10.4.6 update. Prior to this release it was not, but could be used with the addition of third-party plug-ins.
However, there are three significant limitations inherent in this handset:
    1. Calendar synchronization is not supported. This is a Verizon issue and may be resolved in future firmware updates from Verizon.
    2. Verizon has reverted to its long-standing practice of disabling the Bluetooth OBEX profile, so that files cannot be exchanged between your handset and your Macintosh. They do this to preserve their ongoing revenue stream from pay-to-transfer options like Get it Now. Initially, this handset inexplicably did not have the OBEX profile disabled, but that 'oversight' has been 'corrected' in subsequent releases.
    3. The V3c is a V CAST device, and as such, cannot be used as a CDMA wireless modem to connect to the internet. Many Verizon-supplied mobile handsets and smartphones do include a DUN [Dial Up Networking] profile, but V CAST devices do not. I mention this because the lack of DUN support may be a 'deal breaker' for Verizon subscribers like you.

  • Import photos from bluetooth phone

Is there any easy way to import photos from a bluetooth phone directly into iPhoto?
My wife has a motorola razor flip phone with camera
    PowerBook 12inch G4 with iphoto '05
To get the photos into iPhoto now, I do the following:
    1) Under Bluetooth menu I browse device (and choose her phone from the list)
    2) Navigate to her Pictures directory on her phone and copy pictures to a folder on her powerbook.
    3) Open up iphoto and import the pictures from that directory into iphoto
What I would like to be able to do is just import the pictures into iPhoto directly. Thanks.

  • Problems with getting my mediacom email address to work on my motorola razr HD

I recently upgraded my motorola droid x to a motorola Razr and am trying to get my mediacom email account to work on my new phone. I entered the information from my old phone into my new phone exactly the same and it doesn't work. Any suggestions??? These setting worked great on my droid x but not on my new droid razr I've asked both the verizon techs and the mediacom techs and no one seams to have an answer.

  • Motorola Razr V3c calendar sync with 10.4.6

With the release of 10.4.6 and iSync 2.2 their is support for syncing contacts on a Motorola Razr V3c but not iCal.
Here is a link to a fix to allow you at your own risk to enable iCal syncing, it worked for me, but it doesn't support all day events.
    http://www.briantoth.com/razr_v3c/editmeta.php
Modifications to your iSync application are done at your own risk. Back up iSync before messing with it. one note where he says change to yes it should be change false to true.
    iMac G5 20" 2 Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Verizon Razr V3c

This worked for me–one thing that should be noted is that Brian notes to change the "supportsCalendarsSync" to "yes"–whereas it should be changed from "false/" to "true/".

  • Firefox does not work on my new motorola razr i (XT890). Will my phone be supported soon?

Firefox does not work on my new phone, motorola razr i (XT980). When finishing the download from googlePlayStore it says, that the package is invalid. (I use the german interface, so I don't know the exact translation being used). I suppose this is because of its Intel processor. Will it be supported soon?

Yes, I have this very problem on my newly bought device too.

  • 4G on Motorola RAZR stopped working?

I live in the Dallas Metro area and have the Motorola RAZR.  Earlier this week my phone stopped recognizing 4G.  It will only run on 3G and the battery seems to be draining quicker.  I have confirmed that the network setting is on LTE/CDMA.  Any advice to get it recognizing 4G again?  Thanks!

        Hi there Jnkmoody!
Living in a 4G LTE area   having an LTE phone should = LTE access! I'm so sorry your phone isn't recognizing this access.
I double checked the area and didn't see any alerts from the 22nd until now.  Are you still experiencing the problem?
Additional steps I would recommend would be powering down & removing and resinserting the sim card.  Did you recently download any Task Killers, Battery Savers, or Antiviruses? If so I would attempt to remove those applications.
    Keep us posted!

  • File transfer between IMAC and Motorola RAZR V3c

I recently replaced my defective Verizon RAZR phone with a new RAZR v3c. Previously, I was able to exchange music, video and pic files readily by dragging and dropping via bluetooth. The new phone pairs up w/ bluetooth but an error message appears stating the device "does not have the necessary services". Is there a way to transfer these files even w/o bluetooth if necessary? I've been reading for hours and haven't found a solution. Please HELP!! Thanks

Bad news... Verizon disabled that "feature" of your phone. I guess they did it to try to force subscribers to buy more ringtones and use more data transfers. It might depend on the exact firmware version. There's some info on it here:
    http://blog.wired.com/music/2006/07/verizonrazrca.html
And a (somewhat daunting) wiki tutorial on how to replace the Verizon $oftware with the original phone software from Alltel:
    http://wiki.howardforums.com/index.php/MotorolaV3c_Tutorial:_Flashing_to_Alltel_UserInterface
Oh wait, just found this... apparently you can take it to a Verizon store and have them update the firmware:
