Importing photos-Windows 7-Photo Shop Elements 9 Oganizer
I have a new lap top with Windows 7 operating system and have installed Adobe Elements 9. I have .jpg photo files on my hard drive. I have followed the steps for finding in importing photos. When I click on my photo folders and files Elements 9 organizer states no files were found. I can see the photos in the files and know they are there. Help! Having never used adobe for pictures, this first and important step is very frustrating. I have not found any applicable help while searching the included help & tutorials.
How do I use organizer and import these photos?
Thank you very much. I had tried open before and Get Media was the correct choice.

I followed the instructions on the Web site to uninstall Photo shop elements 12 in windows 8.1 and when I did as it said there was no box to tick for deactivation so I carried on.. Can I just go ahead and install on another computer ?
I don't know what instructions you may have followed, but as long as you "signed out" , then you will be fine.

IPhoto, Adobe Photo Shop Elements, & Photo Files
Just noticed that Photo Shop Elements is on sale this week. If I purchase/download it, will I lose my iPhoto library? I have version '09, 8.1.2 (424). I've never upgraded to a newer version of iPhoto for fear of losing my library, based on some of the comments from other forums. I do have my computer backed up via a LaCie drive and have had to reload my library once before. (It's very scary when you think you've lose 30K photos!)
AUsing Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Screenshots are from PSE 10
Note 1: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.
Note 2: editing a RAW file with either PSE or PS creates a new file which must be saved outside of iPhoto, i.e. the Desktop, and imported as a new photo into the iPhoto Library.

As far as your tutorials and training videos go, you will likely have to research that yourself since no one here is likely to know what those were nor where they can be acquired. -

Your solution worked when applied to a administrative user account but did work with a student account.
I'm not sure why that is happening.
If you're on Vista or Windows 7, you could try setting the program to run permanently as Administrator, as described here:

If that doesn't help, my only suggestion would be to work through these tedious troubleshooting steps:

Problem downloading Photoshop Elements with IE10 [was: photo shop elements]
I am trying to install Photo Shop Elements on my computer which has Windows 7 and IE9 and it keeps telling me I need IE4 or higher to install it and quits the installation. Can anyone help me with this?
It's a well known issue with the Adobe website and IE10.
The website script has a bug which seems to think IE10 is IE1 (which is hopelessly out of date). So the download quits. Has been repeatedly reported to Adobe but not fixed - or even acknowledged by Adobe - yet.
Workarounds:
Use Compatibility View in IE10 (change to IE9) to fool Adobe's website to think you're using IE9
Use a different browser. -

Uninstall photo shop elements 6
I bought a new V500 epson scanner from Staples about a week ago. When I tried to install photo shop elements 6 the install got down to 38 seconds left and froze up. I turned the computer off and then on again. I found that the photo shop was not completely installed and it won't allow me to uninstall either. Iwould like to install and then reinstall. How can I uninstall photo shop? Thank you for you help.
Don GrabillYou have corrupted the system registry
You need to manually delete the program folder, and then buy a registry repair program
This one is good http://www.macecraft.com/
You also need software to make a full hard drive backup to an external USB drive
Hardware crashes or virus infections happen, so you should buy software to make a full backup of your hard drive to an external USB hard drive... plus making step-by-step backups during a new install or major program addition makes it easy to go back a step if something doesn't work
This backup and then restore is, of course, only to the same computer with a new drive (or the same drive as long as you don't mind writing over everything) since doing a restore to a new computer won't work due to Windows and many programs having activation information that is keyed to your hardware (which is why Windows will force you to RE-Activate if you change very much hardware)
The product I use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything
Please note that I own no part of Image, and I don't get a referral fee (that is just a plain web link) but I use the program and it has saved me a LOT of trouble when I had a hard drive die... and I was able to restore everything and not have to re-install or re-activate a single program, from Windows on up -
Please help me with photo shop elements 9 for
Is there a book for learning Photo Shop Elements 9 for getting your memory card downloaded and then making and editing movies? Or is there a class in the Chicago, Hoffman Estates, Barrington, IL area?
[email removed]
Message was edited by: Brett NYou can get the Classroom in a Book from http://www.adobepress.com (a susidy of Pearson). This will take you through pretty much everything, from start to finish.
If you are looking to edit movies though, you will need Premiere Elements (the sister program to Photoshop Elements, which is used for editing images). -
Hi I have the old photo shop elements 10 on my computer and want to update and was wondering what the differences between photoshop, lightroom and photoshop elements are?
Also when I upgrade does it have to be with a monthly membership or can I just purchase the product out right like you use to be able? You cannot "update" from what you have to any of the applications you mention. It will have to be a straight purchase or subscription at full price.
Photoshop is a professional level application that makes no apologies for its very long and steep learning curve.
Lightroom is all about volume, and very light editing.
The Photoshop Elements forum is at:
https://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop_elements/content
Remember, you are not addressing Adobe here in the user forums. You are requesting help from volunteers users just like you who give their time free of charge. No one has any obligation to answer your questions.
I do not know where there is such a comparison table as you seek, but someone else might, or you can google.
