Importing pics

I am trying to import pics from the iPhoto library folder to the iPhoto library or a new album. When I do, i get a dialog box that states "can not import, file already exists in iPhoto library folder". Ihave tried clicking and dragging with the same results. These are pics that I pulled from a video clip in iMovie and they have the .jpg suffix. The only way I found that works is to drag them from the library folder onto the desk top and then into the library. This seems to do something magical that allows the import. Problem is there are a hundred pics! I would like to select all and do them at once if at all possibe.

Be very careful when mucking about in the iPhoto Library folder in the Finder. Don't try to rename, move, or otherwise reorganize anything except for these pics that don't work.
For items to get into the iPhoto Library, they must be imported by iPhoto. So to prevent this from happening again, if you create a new file or Save As when you edit a photo, save it to a folder outside of your iPhoto library, like in a folder on the desktop. Import into iPhoto, and then you can delete the desktop folder once iPhoto has put them in its library.
You have found the way to fix the problem: the pics must be removed from the Library and imported properly. In Finder, use the Columns view. You will see a thumbnail of the picture, with info beneath, to help identify it. To select a contiguous range of files, click on the first and Shift-Click on the last. To select non-contiguous files, use Command-Click. Drag to a folder on the desktop.
