Importing Podcast Subscriptions

Is it possible to import podcast subscriptions? I have a new computer and would like to move the subscriptions from the old one.

It may be because you are using the same Apple ID in the two iTunes libraries, to sign in to the iTunes Store.
Open iTunes Preferences Store tab.  There is a setting (checkbox) that says Sync podcast subscriptions and settings.  If that setting is enabled, see if unchecking it makes a difference regarding this problem.

  • Transferring podcast subscriptions

I bought a new computer (both old & new are windows-based), and would like to transfer my podcast subscriptions to the new computer.  I've been able to transfer the currently-downloaded files, but not the subscriptions (including information about podcasts with no current downloads, and information about which podcasts I've not yet downloaded, etc.)  I've also found online some instructions for doing this for older versions of itunes, or for Mac-based itunes, but not for Itunes 11 for Windows; such instructions usually talk about making a OMPL file, but I see no option for doing this in itunes 11.  Finally, one online source discussing this said to explort import "playlists," but this again only seems to have information about current files, not the full subscription information.  Please let me know if anyone has found a way to do this.

  • HELP ! : PODCAST SUBSCRIPTIONS LISTED TWICE AFTER LIBRARY RESTORE

I have restored my entire itunes library onto my new computer.
When I restore my podcast subscriptions by drag and dropping the 'Podcasts' playlist over to the library a number of the subscriptions get listed twice.
How do I get all of the podcast episodes to appear under one subscription in itunes ?
Technically I know the reason why this is happening. It is because the podcast author at some point have changed the URL feed for their podcast. So some episodes come from an old URL location and some from the new location.
When itunes imports the podcasts it groups the old podcasts under one subscription heading and the more recent ones under another heading. However both have the same name hence duplicate podcast subscription titles !
Is there any way of forcing itunes to arrange all the podcast episodes under one subscription heading ?

I have been fighting the same issue for over a year, every time there is a new version released I get hopeful and scour the boards for a new solution, but alas no.

  • Podcast subscriptions disappear Itunes 12

Most of my Podcast subscriptions have disappeared.  This has happened more than once recently. As suggested in another post, I've tried importing from the ITunes Media library but that seems to have done nothing.
    What's causing this?
How do I recovery my subscriptions?
How do I stop it happening again?
Running ITunes 12 fully up-to-date as of 16 Nov 2014 on Windows 7 fully up-to-date. Syncing with Iphone6.

  • Can't import podcast from cloud

I just got a new Acer computer (Windows 8) and when I installed iTunes I now cannot import podcasts from my subscription to my library so I can sync with my ipod. The new podcasts show in the Feed but when I try to Save I get an "!".
I tried unsubscribing and re-subscribing to no avail. I don't have a problem when using my laptop.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • HT6546 How do you get podcast subscriptions to download on my iMac?

I had several podcast subscriptions automatically downloading daily to iTunes on my iMac. When I installed Maverick they stopped and I can't find a way to get them started again. I looked for help on the iTunes site and all it talks about is in connection with a device and nothing about my computer. It tells me to click on things that do not exist and is totally worthless. I tried to resubscribe in the normal manner and it doesn't work beyond downloading a single episode while I wait. it only downloads at the speed of listening to it. How do I get these podcasts started again?

The very first thing you should have done when you got the new External was to change to Mac compatible to Extended and Journaled then all will be well again. Get out the paperwork that came with the Drive and read it.

  • How do I move my iTunes podcast subscriptions to a new computer?

I have a Dell computer running Windows XP.
I just purchased an Inspiron laptop running Vista and want to move my podcast subscriptions (I have a lot of them) to the new installation of iTunes on the laptop.
I cannot find any instructions on how to do this.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks. - Love my iPhone!

Probably the most straightforward way to get iTunes onto your second computer is to network it with the first one and copy your iTunes folder across. Start by consolidating your library. When you consolidate, any songs in the iTunes Library that are not in the iTunes Music Folder are copied to the Music Folder and the Library is updated to point to those new files. Files already in the iTunes Music Folder have no changes made to them: Copying all your iTunes files to one location - Windows
Copying the whole folder brings with it the iTunes Music folder and also the iTunes Library (iTunes Library.itl in Windows) database file which holds all the information about your songs (Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added, etc). You'll get more information including the Folder/File structure in this article: What are the iTunes library files?
When you copy the iTunes folder make sure you put it into the same location on the new computer. On a PC the default location is \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\ (or C:\Username\Music\ in Vista). You should also use the same version of iTunes on both computers.
You can also use this method with an external hard drive, you drag the folder from the first computer to the external drive and then from the drive to the second computer.
If you have and iPod, some iPods can be used as an external drive and you can use them to move your iTunes (this option isn't available with the iPod Touch): How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
If you have any iTunes purchases in your library don't forget that you'll need to authorise your new computer to play them. Also if you are disposing of the old one remember to deauthorise it so you don't use up one of your allowances: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

  • How do I find a downloaded podcast subscription that is not showing up in my library?

I downloaded a podcast subscription and it will not show up in my podcast library in Itunes.  I tried to download it again but it says it is downloaded.  What can I do?

Is the Podcast in iTunes U, which is a separate section within you iTunes Library? If you cannot see iTunes U on the left hand side, under "Library", click on Edit/Preferences/General>iTunes U (tick "on").
Did you actually download this programme "as a Podcast" through the iTunes Store or by subscribing to the Podcast feed in Advanced/Subscribe to Podcast? Or did you get it from the show's website?
Have you checked alternative spellings and even programme titles for the Podcast? (I have one programme, titled "Focus", but which appears under "BBC", who produced it!) Use the Search facilty to check your library.
If all else fails, what is the title of the Podcast, perhaps that may help us find it?

  • Is there a way I can import podcasts?

I would like to find out if there is a way to import podcasts into the native Playbook podcast app from my desktop without downloading them.  I have tried searching the Playbook file system but it looks like I don't have access to a lot of files and folders.  Is there a way of accessing them and would that allow me to import podcasts to a podcast folder?
    Thanks!

I probably did not explain issue well enough in my first post.  I do not have any problem downloading podcasts to my Playbook.  What I want to do and I'm not sure if the Playbooks native podcast app supports it, is to import podcasts from my desktop.  I was naively thinking that there would be a folder somewhere in the Playbook similar to the music or document folder where I could drag and drop my podcasts.

  • ITunes "Forgets" Podcast Subscriptions

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard (10.6.2) and iTunes has started a disturbing behavior. It forgets podcast subscriptions if there are no episodes in iTunes for it to sync. I listen to several daily podcasts that I delete after listening to them. Since I have upgraded the OS, I have to re-subscribe to these podcasts on my iPod Touch whenever I get a new episode if there were no episodes in iTunes at the time. Am I missing a setting in iTunes or something that is making the iPod Touch forget its podcast subscriptions? Thanks for your help.

I am also having this problem.

  • Consolidating Redundant Podcast Subscriptions

*What I did*: I accidentally deleted a podcast subscription (KCRW's Today's Top Tune) and all 300+ associated files. I dragged all those MP3s out of the trash and back into iTunes.
*The issue*: in the "Podcast" area, iTunes created 5 podcast subscriptions for "KCRW's Today's Top Tune". When I click the disclosure triangles, I can see that each of the 5 subscriptions contains different MP3s; my songs are spread out across these 5 organizing subscription headings (each of which has the exact same name).
*The question*: How can I get iTunes to consolidate these 5 podcast subscription headings into a single one to rule all my previously downloaded MP3s (sorry, couldn't resist) so that it can look as it did before the accident?

If you mean within iTunes then go to View menu and select Show Sidebar. One of the items under the Library heading should be iTunes U.
if you mean the actual files, select one of the files in iTunes, then go to File menu and select Show in Finder. This will open the folder where the file is stored.
Warning: You should not interact (delete, add, etc) with iTunes files/folders directly, but do it from within iTunes only.

  • Protecting Podcast Subscriptions from Accidental Deletion

    When I:
    1) select (intentionally or unintentionally) a podcast that does not have any audio files in it, then
    2) click "delete",
iTunes will delete the Podcast Subscription without asking for confirmation. This is incredibly frustrating to me. Is there a way (iTunes setting, plugin, or otherwise) to "protect" my podcasts from accidental deletion? All I really want is for iTunes to ask me "are you certain you want to unsubscribe from this Podcast?"
    Thank you,
    Dimitri

    Hi Marcin,
It does facilitate OU protection, but by default in 2008 R2 when you create an OU it is set to be protected. Ensuring people untick the box and then manually protect that OU (by assigning rights directly to it rather than ticking the box) every time an OU
is created for something as futile as preventing an OU from being deleted is almost a complete waste of time and the effort vs utility almost dictates that we'd be better off not having the prevent accidental deletions there at all. After all, we've survived
Windows 2000 and 2003 without this functionality...
As for the scenario, I'll give you a very simple example:
You have Workstations under Workstations>Department Name>Desktops. You obviously have several GPOs linked at either one of those 3 places. All of a sudden, as part of testing a new deployment, you are required to add another GPO to the existing ones.
As part of the testing phase, you create a Dev OU under Desktops and link the new GPO to the new Dev OU. At the same time that you do this, do you really go and create a new OU under Desktops to hold all the already existing objects under desktops and therefore
prevent having any leaf-level objects and an child OU under the same parent OU? You could claim that a better way of doing it would be to create a Test OU at the top level of Workstations, but then you'd have to work out the effective permissions and GPOs
at the other OU level and replicate it on the newly created one...

  • Transfer Podcast Subscriptions Between Macs?

I've got to put my MacBook Pro in the shop for a few days, so I'm going to be using my old PowerBook while it is gone (it runs OS X 10.5.8). Is there any way I could transfer just my podcast subscriptions between the two Macs so I can keep listening to my programs (approximately 45 of them) while the MacBook Pro is gone?
Thanks for any recommendations you can give!

Didn't get any help with the question.
