Importing PR project Issues

Hi,
Just a quick intro. I cut up and edited my video in PR and want to apply some effects to certain files in my timeline, within AE. I imported my PR project into AE fine, but when i preview it (hit space bar) it first runs really slowly, then stays black, until I start hiding some of the adjustment layers, titles etc. It shows non of my colour correction, nor the text and its effects that are key to my video.
What is the best way to edit certain parts of my PR timeline, cut up videos, throw them into premier then back to PR into the main sequence so I can export out with minimum data loss, please?
Thank you
Bini

The best way to bring a clip from a Premiere Pro timeline into AE for effects processing depends on the shot. For simple things you can right click your clip or clips in Premiere Pro and select "Replace with After Effects Composition." AE will open and create a comp from the clips. If your effects work is fairly straight forward you complete your effects work in After Effects and then return to Premiere Pro and continue editing. If the effects involve more complex work like Warp Stabilizing or extensive keying and compositing, you will probably want to add some handles to the shot and then render your AE work to a Production Format DI (digital intermediate) and replace the shot in the Premiere Pro sequence. Leaving a Warp Stabilized or extensive and render intensive effects shot a live dynamic linked AE project will still work but on most systems you will save time in the long run if you render and replace. I use both methods almost daily.
As Mylenium said, before you get to far into your project you need to give yourself some serious After Effects training. I've been using and teaching After Effects for 20 years and I've never met anyone that could successfully just open AE for the first time and successfully and efficiently do anything more than add a text layer to a shot, then most of them have fouled up the render of that simple shot. Please at least start here: Basic Workflow

  • Rendering issues with imported Motion project in FCP

I have various titles for a DVD prepared in Motion that are imported as project files into Final Cut Pro.
When playing back the rendered timeline in FCP to a TV, the animation on these titles (scaling and moving of text and untextured, 100% opaque rectangles) looks fine. When I render the timeline to a QuickTime (DV PAL) they still look fine on a monitor, though obviously not a great test on a progressive display.
After using Compressor (and a suitable preset for PAL content) and burning to a disc from DVD Studio Pro, the animation is jumpy. Some elements in the project with a Fade In/Fade Out behaviour with Fade Out duration set to 0 suddenly disappear for a short period (looks like one frame) - these objects end on the timeline in the same frame that their Fade In/Fade Out behaviour also ends.
If I render the Motion project to a QuickTime file with transparency and overlay that in FCP then follow the same route through Compressor and DVD Studio Pro everything looks as I expected... smooth motion and no disappearing elements.
Any ideas? Should I just keep rendering Motion projects out to separate files to overlay in FCP? That seems a bit of a waste of the integration between FCP and Motion.

    This gives me pause: AEManager::scanForPluginsInDirectory(PCString) + 1011
I'd check for any third party plugins...

  • "Import Flex Project" Menu Disappear [FB 4.6]

    Hi All,
I am not sure what's going wrong here but I'm not able to see "Import Flex Project" menu item under File Menu.
Can any one knows how to get it back ?
    Thanks
    Mac

I'm having the exact same issue as he described. This doesn't help at all.
I am using a fresh install of Flash Builder 4.6.
I have tried closing and re-opening the project, and cannot get the design view to work.
I have tried creating a completely new project, it comes up bad.
    **Edit**
I think the problem has to do with the workspace. Most of my projects are flex 4.5. I started using an old flex 4.5 workspace that I have been using for several months. It worked well for a few hours of development, and then the design view started messing up.
I created a fresh new workspace, and imported the projects into the workspace by using file->import flash builder project->Folder, and manually selected the projects I needed.
This method worked for me and I am good to go.
Another point of note, is that my workspace was in my dropbox folder, which may have had some tampering going on in the background, I doubt it, but that could also have been the issue.
Good luck guys, hope this helps.

  • Final Cut Pro X crashes when I try to import iMovie project?

I have a large iMovie project that I am trying to import into FCP. Every time I do (FILE -> IMPORT -> IMOVIE PROJECT) it starts to import, then crashes without warning, giving me a crash log report.
I am able to import another smaller iMovie project just fine, but the one I actually need to import doesn't work.
Both projects use video clips from the same event library.
Any ideas? Or in a backwards way, any ideas on how to recreate it in a fresh iMovie project to import into FCP? (I've tried duplicating it in iMovie and it crashed on import too).
(...I understand why there have been so many complaints about FCP now.)

Figured it out! After almost 24 hours, I cracked it
Let me give you a bit of back story...
I had an iMovie project that I had built on my Macbook. I just got a new iMac and installed FCPX on it. Was hoping to do some more professional alterations to the project.
So I consolidated the project in iMovie, copied it along with the files to an external hard drive, then transferred it over to my new machine.
Every time that I would try to import the newly copied project, it would get a few seconds in, then crash with no error message... just a crash report.
I was able to import a smaller project that used some of the same videos, so I knew that it wasn't a codec issue or something like that.
Then, through the process of trial and error, I figured out that when I had consolidated the project on my old machine, it didn't truly consolidate the files that I had used. There were a handful of still images that I had used in a different folder on my computer. So I copied that folder to the same path on my new computer, tried to import, and just like that, problem solved.
I guess FCPX doesn't know what to do when something isn't exactly where it's supposed to be. Hopefully in the next software update, they'll alert the user what the error causing it to crash is so that others don't have to waste nearly a day troubleshooting for one obvious (oops) mistake.

  • Lose model when importing a project

    Hi
I tried for the first time to import a project and I noticed that ODI had lost all links with models for target datastores :
To be more specific, when I open an interface, its status is "in error" and the target datastore appears with a red cross. When I click on the "properties" icon, I can see that my datastore is not linked to a model.
In addition, when I ask for usage of the datastore in the "model" tab, I can verify that it is not used.
NB : the project was first created in this repository (that I will call "repository A"), then exported to another (repository B). It was then deleted from repository A and imported from repository B.
The model was neither deleted nor imported.
Is there a way to save the links between project and model while importing ?

Cezar - I have the exact situation that this user describes. I checked the i_mod versus the version tab/internal id of the model and they are the same. Thoughts on the best next steps?
    To recap:
    1) I exported from my DEV environment both my model and project folder
    2) imported into my TEST (different server, etc) first model, then project folder
    3) no issues on import of model or project folder
    4) when I open an interface, it's in 'error' status and I cannot view data with right click on data stores (within interface) (data stores have the little red X on the top left corner)
    5) I CAN view data when I right click on the table in the MODEL tab.
When I try to view data for my data stores in the diagram of my interface, I receive this error: Cannot display data: Datastores are not on the same data server
or one of the tables is not accessible on the data server
    Thoughts???
    Many Thanks,
    Dan

  • Premiere Pro CC crashes when I import CS6 project files

I recently upgraded to CC, but every time I try to import my project file from Premiere Pro CS6 into Premiere Pro CC it crashes, or stops working if you like.
This is very irritating as I wanted to make use of the SpeedGrade workflow in the CC packaged between Premiere Pro CC.
My project file is no longer than 1 minute, however is does contain After Effects CS6 compositions, could this possible cause the crash? I have tried to import without these but it still stops working for some reasons.
Also I have no idea where to find the error log for crashes on Adobe software.

I have experienced similar crashes and timeline playback failure when importing a CS6 project into CC or CC 2014. I had to rebuild two projects by hand before I realized it was a bug in CC converting the CS6 project files to CC project files. I don't think this has been addressed yet, but I have had better luck starting projects from scratch in CC, not cross-converting a CS6 project. Although I'm still experiencing issues with multicam projects in CC 2014.
Curious to hear others chime in on this.

  • Importing eclipse projects to JDeveloper

Is there any way to import Eclipse project into JDevelper 10g?
    Thanks.

    Hi Shay, Frank
Our team is currently using Eclipse 3.1, struts and Oracle 9i DB, Oracle 10g AS to develop a mid size Java application. However we are running into serious constraint in our development as Eclipse does not allow us to debug for OC4J.
To avoid debug issues and associated time loss and inefficiency, we are trying to import the Eclipse project into Jdeveloper. When I import, it only imports the source files and not the associated libraries, config files, web content etc.
If possible please provide a step by step approach that we can follow to import Eclipse struts projects and then build it. If you can point us to some document, book, tutorial etc, it will be highly appreciated.

  • How to export/import  a Project from Dev area to Test area

We exported the project as a whole and tried to import to teh new repository using teh mode "INSERT", but it is failed saying that the sequences are having values less than the object IDs.
When we tried to import using "DUPLICATE" mode it all Project got imported. But the relations to the folders are invalid.
Please guide us how to do export/import a project. (The documentations we referred does not talk about the errors mentioned above)

  • Final cut pro x importing imovie project

I have iMovie '11 and am trying out Final Cut Pro X's trial version.  Final Cut Pro X will not successfully "import iMovie Project."  Two things happen: 1) It starts the import of the iMovie Project but only reaches the point where it shows video outline in dark grey with no acual video imagery and 2) shuts down Final Cut Pro X with a follow on option to "Report, Ignore" to Apple.  I've reported it, but would like to know if anyone is having the same issue and if there is a fix.  I have just the Trial Version to see if I wish to buy, but if functions are not working properly I won't buy it.

I have the full version and I can't get iMovie '11 projects to import into FCPX.  I have tried everything I can think of.  The import progress bar starts, then it crashes.  Anyone with instructions on getting in it please help.  I am migrating stuff to my new MBP and the iMovie stuff is recognized by the iMovie on the new MBP.  The iMovie events did import into FCPX fine however.

  • Eclipse maven multi module project issues

Most developers I know moved on to IntelliJ for just one reason: better support for development and reload/hot deployment of multi module maven projects and its resources. All of these problems keep happening in the case of nested/hierarchical multi module maven projects which is >90% of maven use cases:
    1. Every time a multi module project is imported, sometimes there are both referenced libraries and maven dependencies in some projects. We have to manually remove referenced libraries from appearing. How can stop this from happening?
    2. Changes made to resource updates are not always refreshed and require full clean, using eclipse:clean eclipse:eclipse commands and even a maven project refresh using Alt+F5? Why should we do this and not let Eclipse figure out what's wrong? Also, Eclipse updates to dependency projects are slow when fixing any compile time issues from dependencies.
    3. Maven sometimes import dependency projects and its resources into its classpath and sometimes imports final artifact or jar from local repository as its dependency. This is a major problem just because jars excludes specific resources, say, from its src/main/resources. Is there a way in Maven to ask it to use resources of final artifact or exclude files that are not part of the its dependency packaging, typically excluded in the the dependent pom by <exclude>resource... without manually updating classpath?
    4. When deploying a multi module project to an Eclipse Tomcat container, resources are not deployed randomly. Say a dependency src/main/resources has dep1-config.xml and you want to specify a custom file dep1-config.xml runtime, there is currently no way to say override from the main project being deployed or from custom folders added to classpath of project being deployed. Guess this is a problem with the container classloader and not really a maven issue.
    5. There isn't a single multi module project deployment tutorial with best practices of managing classpath resources anywhere.
How hard is it to make a stable maven support just like IntelliJ?

Please do not use the maven-eclipse-plugin (mvn.eclipse:eclipse) and m2e simultaneously, they're not very compatible. Instead, when issues happen, clean your project in the m2e way, using the "Maven > Update configuration" context menus on your project(s).

    Hi
Why are you trying to import BPM zip file are you trying to configure the out of the box workflows?
They are something that need to be deployed from the process admin on BPM.
There would be the .exp file you would need as its BPM 10g that you would need to use.

  • Importing a project into PE 12 trial version, not all audio tracks play back!

I'm trying the trial vesion of PE 12.  Imported a project that I had created with PE 9.  Everything appears to have been imported, including all the audio tracks.  But when i play it back, some of the audio tracks are completely muted, while others, are fine and I can hear it.
Any idea what can cause this?

With "muted" Audio Tracks, I would look at a few possibilities, and especailly with a Project created in an earlier version of PrE:
Open Audio Mixer, and look to see if any Tracks are Muted.
Play the Timeline, and observe the Levels in Audio Mixer, and also whether there is any movement of the "sliders" in Audio Mixer.
Observe which Audio Tracks your Audio Clips are, in the Timeline, and report those please.
Making sure that Keyframe Display is set to Volume in your Audio Clips, are there any Volume Keyframes?
I am sure that others will have a few more ideas, and questions.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Importing iMovie project

I've heard that I should be able to import a project form IMovie to FCE HD I'm not having much luck . I only have clipe no transitions no titles. Do I need to prep this in some way first?
When I simply import the .mov there is sporatic audio wave form and when I play it I get sonar sounding beeps before it crashes the app.
    Newbie
    Thanks
    Leslsie
    iMac G5 2G   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   2 Gig RAM

I have no experience with iMovie 6.
Regarding rendering, just press Command and R.
It will render everything usually, but under these circumstances it should only do the audio as that is all that will need rendering.

  • Importing web project into Workshop 9.2

    Hi,
I'm trying to import an existing web project into Workshop 9.2.1 from my Subversion source. Unfortunately Workshop doesn't recognize this project as a valid web project.
I imported the code project using 'File>Import>Existing Projects' into Workspace.
Unfortunately, I get the following errors:
    - "The library module reference : beehive-netui-1.0 is not allowed from the classpath of a non-web project, only JAR,EJB, and EAR module types are allowed."
    - "The library module reference : jstl is not allowed from the classpath of a non-web project, only JAR,EJB, and EAR module types are allowed."
How do I tell Workshop that this project is indeed a web project?
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Derrek

Wow.... I figured out a workaround (aka Ugly Hack). It seems that Workshop doesn't properly import Portlet projects. Here's how I got around it:
    1. Checkout the code from Subversion
    d:\MyProjects\Project\trunk\MyComponent\
    2. Move MyComponent to a temp directory
    d:\MyProjects\Project\trunk\MyComponent\ --> d:\tmp\MyComponent
    3. Open Workshop and create a new Portal project and PortalEAR project of the same name as the MyComponent projects
    File>New myComponentPortal
    4. Copy over the src and WebContent directories in the SVN directory with the files from tmp.
    d:\tmp\MyComponent\src -> d:\MyProjects\Project\trunk\MyComponent\src
    d:\tmp\MyComponent\src\WebContent -> d:\MyProjects\Project\trunk\MyComponent\WebContent
    5. Refresh Workshop and let the spooky voodoo happen. Viola! Now I've got a running portal project with a SVN connection.
