Importing Program from Production System to DEV and QAS.

Hi All,
I have 3 Systems in my Landscape.
DEV-> QAS-> PRD
One of my Z program is running in the Production system.
This Z program is got deleted in the DEV and QAS.
How can I import the Program from Production System to QAS and DEV.

hi Vijaya laxmi,
you can goto Production system ---> SE38/ SA38 and copy the program and create the same in program using SE38 in Development system and then transport it to Quality system.
You can also Re-Import the Request from Production to Dev system.

PRD installation in a differenet domain than DEV and QAS

Dear Experts,
I need to install SAP ECC 6 and PI 7.1 on production servers.Our dev and qas servers are running in the domain X(for eg) and the PRD servers are in the domain Y(for eg).All the servers are supposed to be in the same landscape.Do I have to include the prd servers also in the same domain as dev and qas or will it cause any issues running them in different domain ?If it gives issues pls let me know the the kind of issues it will be as I need to give my IT team proper reasons to run all the servers in the same domain.
I know some reasons like servers should be in the same domain if we use common transport directory.
Please let me know if there are any other reasons.

Hello Zaheer ,
I would always recommend to check that you have the latest transport tools, tp and R3trans in use in the system to avoid import errors.
Check with
tp -v
R3trans -v
if either are more than around 4 months old, I would strongly recommend to download the latest for your release from the SAP service marketplace. This avoids needlesly encountering issues that have been resolved in more recent patch lebels of these tools.
During the import, it is important to check the contents of the directories
usr/sap/trans/tmp
and
usr/sap/trans/log
that they are being continously updated which shows import is progressing.
Most important, keep checking the latest entries in the alog, uloag and slog to see which phases and trasnports are currently being imported.
If a transport fails, check these logs and the latest ones updated in usr/sap/trans/log for further details on the failure.
If there is an error please NEVER manual run any commands wihtout contacting SAP and having them analyse the issue.
When opening a message, be sure to include the latest alog, ulog and slog, along with the last few files most recently updated in usr/sap/trans/log and if possibel open an R3 connection to the import system.

Issue whilel transporting from production system to quality system

Hi All,
    I am facing issue in process chain when I transport it from production system to quality system. Process chain is related to deleting PSA logs. When transported to quality system object_type and object_name fields in display variant becomes blank. In production system it is showing 8ZXXX_CA, it should become 8ZXXX_HA in quality system.

How to make inactive ABAP Program in production system

Dear Expert,
I have a lot abap program in production system which are not used anymore and my company plan to upgarde our SAP system, therefore to reduce the effort for the SAP upgarde I will deactivate the unused ABAP program.
My question how to change the active abap to inactive in production system ?

Program details are stored in the table REPOSRC.
Primaray keys are PROGNAME and R3STATE.
Suppose if the program zxy is in active state, then enry will be
ZXY A
Suppose if we made some changes to it and saved, so the program is in inactive state. so one more entry will be there in the table
ZXY A
ZXY I
So if you add like this for the program which you want in the table REPOSRC, then that programs will be in inactive state.

Is it possible to delete old BP numbers from production system?
if yes please let me know the procedure and impact on the system.
if no please let me know ,how to prevent user from entering old BP number into order.

Hi Shaik,
You can delete the BP using transaction BUPA_DEL.
Just enter the number of the BP you want to delete and then execute.
Make sure that all the checkboxes on the selecton screen are clear.
In case the BP has dependencies and deletion is not alowed, you will get an error message informing you of the same.

Startrfc - SAP utility to invoke ABAP programs from External systems

We have used the startrfc uitlity that comes along with the SAP Presentation CD. This is bundled with the SAP RFC SDK kit. The startrfc utility can be used to invoke ABAP programs from external systems or servers.
When using the startrfc from the SAP server using the parameters
startrfc -h 10.60.0.31 -s 01 -c 100 -u USERNAME -p PASS -F <Function Module> -E TPPARAM=\usr\sap\trans\bin\tp_domain_<SID>.PFL -T LIST,300,w=list.txt
the desired results are achieved.
However when using the same startrfc with the exact parameters from another server we get the message " Incorrect user or password". If we use the SAP GUI from this server to connect to the SAP server using the same username and password we are able to connect to the SAP system.
Has anyone encountered any similar issues with Startrfc? Any suggestion will be appreciated.

DEV and QAS copy from PRD

Hi,
We have ERP 2004 on Windows 2003 with SQL 2005.
Due to some corrections(config changes and abap corrections) were made directly made in our PRD System, we now need to completely refresh our DEV and QAS system with PRD.
As we do not have enough space to make a system copy, please suggest me a way to do a complete refresh without PRD data getting into DEV and QAS servers.

In your scenario , better to go for client export / Import process in order to refresh .
Select the appropriate profile :
SAP_ALL    All Client-Specific Data w/o Change Documents
SAP_CUST   Customizing
SAP_CUSV   Customizing and User Variants
SAP_CUSX   Customizing w/o Authorization Profiles and Roles
SAP_EXBC   Customizing, Users and Cross-Client Customizing
SAP_EXPA   SAP_ALL with Cross-Client Customizing
SAP_EXPC   Customizing Including Cross-Client Customizing
SAP_PROF   Only Authorization Profiles and Roles
SAP_RECO   Recovery (Only if Source Client = Target Client)
SAP_UCSV   Customizing, User Master Records and User Variants
SAP_UCUS   Customizing and User Master Records
SAP_UONL   User Without Authorization Profiles and Roles
SAP_USER   User Master Records and Authorization Profiles
I think you need   SAP_EXPC    " Customizing Including Cross-Client Customizing " .
Do not go for SAP_ALL as it contains all config and data .

How to upload Opening balance of G/L accounts from legacy system to SAP, and also Vendor and Customer balance.
My Doubt is when you upload the customer balance and vendor balance will it effect the sundry debtor account and sundry creditor account if not the how will the sundry debtor account and sundry creditor account will be posted with the balance. Please send me the general entry passed for posting the same.
What I understood is that when we are uploading the customer and vendor balances through LSMW, no entry will be passed and it will update the customer and vendor sub ledger in FBL1N and FBL5N but it will not affect the sundry debtor account and sundry creditor account.
To give effect to sundry debtor account and sundry creditor account we need to manually pass a journal entry as follows.
1) Sundry debtors account A/c -
DR
      TO clearing account A/c
2)     clearing account A/c -
dr
     Sundry creditor account A/c
Please let me know whether iam correct
Also please tell me what will be the scenario for uploading of the assets balances through LSMW.

Hi,
     When you uploading any data from legacy system to sap normally we will be using LSMW or BDC,thru this we will be uploading master data like G/L,vendor,Customer and asset master these are the some examples and we will upload transaction data also that is P&L Account and Balance sheet.When we do uploading data thru LSMW system will update all the values of vendor,customer and asset values as well as subsidary ledger also.No need to do manully.

Import sequence
It is important that you import requests in the correct order, so that development work is up-to-date in the target system.
Incompleteness
It is important that the functions transported in the transport proposal are complete; otherwise errors may occur in the import system.
A request is not imported, but it contains an important data element. You use another request to transport a table that references this data element. Since the referenced data element does not exist in the target system, activation errors will occur when you import the second request.
The transport workflow is a generic workflow. Its ability to process the transport route configuration in TMS enables it to adapt itself to any system landscape. This means you can transport multiple requests into multiple targets, even if these targets are not located on the transport routes.
This reduces the amount of work for the transport administrator significantly. The automated nature of the workflow also reduces the likelihood of errors during transports.
You can use the transport workflow in two different ways.
Transport workflow as a transport strategy
If you have production systems in your landscape that can only accept approved transports, we recommend that you use the transport workflow to organize and coordinate the transport process.
To do this, set Workflow-controlled transports as your transport strategy and configure the transport workflow.
When you release a transport request, the transport workflow starts automatically and the screen Create Transport Proposal appears. The requests are then released implicitly when the transport proposal is sent to the transport administrator.
Special transport workflow (mass transports)
You can use the special transport workflow to make transports that do not follow the defined transport routes or that take place outside the normal transport schedule (part of the mass transport strategy). These transports may be corrections made in the development system that have to be transported into the production system without delay.
To use the special transport workflow, set Mass transports as your transport strategy and configure the transport workflow."

Special Characters issue in DEV and QAS

Hi,
I am uploading a file that has special characters (Japanese).
In the DEV system the special character is converted to #. Which the business wants.
In QAS system the special character is not converted and is as it is, which makes the business users difficult to find out if any speical characters are there and they don't want the special character as it is
The file consists millions of record with a possibility of four or five records with special characters
The special characters on keyboards is not an issue.
The programs in DEV and QAS system are same and the file tested is also the same but different results.
Tried in Tcode SNLS to find something but didn't know what and where to look into.
What could be the issue in this? Looks like this is Basis issue but would like to know if anyone can let me know.......

i want to check ur open dataset statement in the program which is being used here if at all in ur case.
Can you please check the relavant code page in both the D and Q systems and search with the appropriate hexa decimal values(for the special characters ) in both the systems ..
u can use code page by tcode scp ..
ex -> as u say a special char sp1 is having entry in q and code page which is being used (like 4200 )
is not having in d03 .
then if in d03 this page has no entry then it shows as # , since it is showing in q then it has an entry over there. this is my guess..
so if at all the client wants not to see this special char's , u need to remove them from this code page.. and check ..
Cant say if this can solve but u can take this as one more way of dealing with code pages and special chars....

Sort Dumps All Over in DEV and QAS While Applying Patches - Help Pls

Applying about 80 patches on DEV and QAS over the weekend with the "Minimize Downtime" option. I got failure at the "TEST_IMPORT" phase and tried to backout and ignore the error but now I keep getting short dumps for any tcode that I use. I can't get past short dumps.
Here is a sample of short dump that I got when I try to execute SPAM and reapply just one patch. I does not load the patch, it just generates a short dump. I opened an OSS note with SAP and they refused to consider that as high priority. Since my DEV and QAS systems are down, the developers will not have any system to work on today and there will be a lot pressure on me today. Please help.

To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.

Yes, you can do it.
Procedure :
Logon to NWDS : -> Windows-> Preferances->J2ee Engine
First mention the QAS system on which you want to deploy the application.
Then change these parameters and point to the DEV system.
Now, you have finished deploying the application in both the servers successfully.
1.Logon to the QAS system
http://fqdn:portnumber/sld
2.login as a J2ee_admin
3.Create a technical system and test the jcos that you are using in your application there. After the JCOs are tested and pinged successfully, run the application and test.
4. Finally, create a web dynpro iview and assign it to the users or roles you want.
Repeat the same steps for your DEV system and you are good to go.

Hi,
Use comparison tool in SCU0.
Select SAP Reference IMG and ssay compare.
This will show the differences if any.
You can also compare at component level.
cross system visibility should be maintained in SCC4 settings for the client
