Importing / saving data from JTable

Hi, are there any documents about this topic? Tutorials or anything?
I do not want you to write it just a how to. cause if you write it im sure i wont be able to figure out how to put it in my code;)
haha.
thanks in forward

Well, if you are using complex Object in your TableModel then the easiest way is probably to Serialize the TableModel. Problems with serializing is that the output file is rather large and the serialized file can only be read in by the same version of Java. (ie. its not portable between JDK1.4 and JDK1.5). This posting gives a simple example of using serialization:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=57&threadID=700384
If you are just saving text Strings then you could create your own simple file structure to store the data and then parse it when you load the file. Use a structure like this:
heading1|heading2|heading3|
column1|column2|column3
If you really want to solve the problem yourself then this posting was my attempt at explaining this process in a little more detail:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=700031
And if you want to see the final result of suggested solution from above check out:

  • Saving Data from ALV.

    hi all.
I have an issue regarding saving data from alv to data base table.
The problem is like this. I have an internal table consist of 10 column from three diferent tables.one primary key is there.
now i have displayed it in alv grid. there is a column of quantity. i made some changes in quantity of some rows. now i want to save it into the database table from which that quantity field fetched.
i used first check_changed_data method. if the flag is set it means data is changed.
wat shud i do to save that quantity column into data base.
    Thanks In advance.

    Hi,
<b>To modify database or ztable from the ALV grid, you need to do the following:</b>
---You have to modify the field Catalog fields (fields that you want to make editable).Set the field <b>EDIT as 'X'</b>.For example if you want to make the field below editable:
    ls_fcat-fieldname = 'CARRID'.
    ls_fcat-edit = 'X'.
    APPEND ls_fcat TO pt_fieldcat.
---Call the method below before you call the set_table_for_first_display.
    CALL METHOD ALV_GRID_INSTANCE-><b>set_ready_for_input</b>
    EXPORTING
    i_ready_for_input = 0. ( For Display ) and ('1' for Edit )
    After this put the set_table_for_first_display.
<b>Now if the ALV data has changed, and you want to change the database or ztable, then in your pf status give a function code for SAVE button in the GUI.
In the PAI of the screen,in user command module write the following:</b>
    WHEN 'SAVE'.
    <b>call method gr_alvgrid->check_changed_data</b>
    importing e_valid = l_valid.
    if l_valid = 'X'.
    <b>MODIFY spfli FROM TABLE itab_spfli.</b>
    endif.
    <b>(l_valid is a flag.</b>
    DATA:l_valid type c.
If you want to check if the user has entered any value on the grid, use the Method : CALL METHOD gr_alvgrid->check_changed_data.
This method returns a flag l_valid which can be checked to see if the data on the ALV grid has been changed or not.)

  • Not enough space on my new SSD drive to import my data from time machine backup, how can I import my latest backup minus some big files?

I just got a new 256GB SSD drive for my mac, I want to import my data from time machine backup, but its larger than 256GB since it used to be on my old optical drive. How can I import my latest backup keeping out some big files on the external drive?

    Hello Salemr,
When you restore from a Time Machine back up, you can tell it to not transfer folders like Desktop, Documents. Downloads, Movies, Music, Pictures and Public. Take a look at the article below for the steps to restore from your back up.

  • Import some data from one oracle to another...

    Hi Guys,
we have 2 oracle database servers on 2 different machines with schema.
I want to import some data from a specific table from one oracle into another oracle.
what is the way to do that.
    Please help in details
    Imran Baig

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
Tables are already created in both of the oralce databases only the data varies. I just have to import only few records from one oracle to another with the same user name and table already existing.
I have tried using database link. I can view records from the other oracle database but as soon as i write an insert command oracle gets held. I cant do anything.
    Is there any other way?

  • Import xml data from a variable locations

    Hi,
Could some please help me with a solution?
Here's what currently runs on our server. An applications runs and does:
    Create an unique folder
Copy a fillable, reader extended form into this folder
Put data in a XML-file (always same filename) and places that in the same folder
Open the PDF for the user to fill in the details.
Now, the change I want to make is to import the data from the XML file into the PDF. I used a button on the form using xfa.host.importData(). This fires up a browse-for-file-box so the user can select the correct xml-file. This works!
However, as the folder from where the PDF opens, is always a different one, the browse-for-file-box opens in the wrong folder. The user does see a XML-file, but that is from a different folder. So, what I wanted is the following:
    The form opens
The PDF imports the data from the XML file automaticly, without user intervention
The user finalizes the form and saves it.
In short: How can I create a variable from the folderlocation where the pdf is opened, and merge that with the xml-filename?
Hopefully I than can use xfa.host.importData("filename.xml")
I hope someone can advise me! Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
thanks for your responce. It sure was helpfull to have a look at that discussion. However, that article regards a defined source with a fixed path (xfa.host.importData("/c/path/to/xml/file.xml");)
There is my problem. I need to determine the path first since that changes every time. Then I want to import that file using code.
I hope my question is clear. If not, please let me know!
    Regards,
    Erik
By the way, I also tried opening the same pdf from different folders. Adobe Reader seems to remember where it looked previous for a XML-file. So,if there is a way to set the folder where the browse-for-file-box opens with, that would be great too!

    # For parameters that require different values in different size
    # installations, three scenarios have been provided: SMALL, MEDIUM
    # and LARGE. Any parameter that needs to be tuned according to
    # installation size will have three settings, each one commented

    # parameters. For example, if you choose to use private rollback segments,

  • Why can't I import gps data from iPhone photos in aperture 3

I have an iPhone 4 (it's already an old model!) and why can't i still not import GPS-data from photo's on my iPhone 4 in Aperture...
Importing photos from the iphone just goes fine...

    Richie:
But do you see the GPS of the iPhone data in Meta data section of the Inspector (set to a preset that shows GPS), as Frank Caggiano asked?
If the images do import the EXIF data, then you should be able to lift and stamp the GPS coordinates. I do that freuently.
Select on of your iPhone images and lift the sata
In the lift&stamp HUD deselect everything but the GPS coordinates, like this.
If no GPS-coordinates do appear in this setting, then your iPhone images do not have the EXIF info required, and you may need to check the iPhone settings.
If you see the EXIF data, then you just need to select the DSLR images that were taken at the same location and you can stamp the EXIF data to the DSLR images.
And after that you should be able to see their locations in the Places view.

  • Importing Live Data from Onedrive for Business

I have a number of excel spreadsheets sitting in one drive for business. These spreadsheets are updated on a daily basis by a number of people (all using excel online).
What I need to do is bring this data from the individual spreadsheets into one place so that I can create a dashboard that updates in real time based on the data in the individual sheets. I understand that it is not possible to create this directly using
excel (i.e. excel to excel). And that is probably not ideal anyway as the relationships will not be linear.
So, I am trying to find the best way to do this. Would it be best to create an access database for each of the excel sheets? Or can I import the data from the various excel sheets to a database, and then create the dashboard from the database?
Is anybody able to help me with the best and easiest way to do this?
