Importing Shapes into Photoshop

I'm trying to import an Adobe Shape into Photoshop.  The tutorial says to go to Photoshop, then Window, then CC libraries.  My Window tab does not display the CC libraries option.  What am I doing wrong?  Please help!

This is the Lightroom forum. You stand a better chance of getting help if you post in the Photoshop forum.
In any event, here are some thoughts: Do you have a CC subscription or are you using a stand alone (perpetual license) version of Photoshop?
If you do have a CC subscription, what you are looking for is "Libraries" under the Window menu (not CC Libraries). Then click on the "Learn more about Libraries" and explore your options there.

  • I can't import videos into Photoshop CS6?

I just ripped a whole load of Doctor Who episodes, and I have been wanting to make .gifs of them, but every time I try to import them into Photoshop (file > import > video frames into layers (how I normally make gifs)), I get a message saying, "Could not complete the video frames to layers command because the file could not be opened". I don't know why this is happening, because Photoshop normally opens .avi files and all I want is to make .gifs of these Doctor Who episodes.

You should open your Dr. Who episode in adobe flash or premier pro. Probably you need to covert it. You could use the adobe media encoder. Photoshop cs6 has "intuitive Video creation" and you have to bring in the video as a mp3. I never tried it   As Photoshop is an image editing app and not created to open Video files so you could probbably use Premiere to export the individual frames and then open those in Photoshop.

  • Flash CS4 import shape from Photoshop CS4

    Hello,
    I'm using flash CS4 on a Mac.
Does any one know how to properly import shape objects from photoshop to flash. The problem is when I import shape objects from photoshop it turns the shape into a bitmap masked out by the photoshop mask. This forces me to then manually go and recreate the shape object in flash.
I have tried many settings but to no avail. Any help, suggestions, or even tell me they have fixed the issue in CS5 or CS5.5.
    Thank You, Jacob

Have you updated Flash to 10.0.2?
Is the Illustrator file very large/insense number of vectors involved?  (ie: if you watch Activity Monitor, does the memory usage grow until things disappear?)
How large/intensive is the FLA you're working on?

  • Importing photos into PhotoShop Elements 9

Hi. Im very new to photoshop software. Any software for that matter
I have about 15000 photos in windows gallery that i initially imported into PSE. But since doing that, as PSE was soooo slow, i went back to windows gallery and cleaned up and organised my photos there, putting them in the correct sub folders, thinking they would automatically update in PSE. This doesnt seem to be the case. Can anyone assist me in how to import photos into PSE, and once they are imported, can i delete from windows gallery ? Oh and any otehr tips for a newbie is appreciated
    Thanks heaps!!

    Hi
Im sorry, but i dont completely understand your answer, although it was a little helpful.
The first sentence you advised to make sub folders in windows program.
Im pretty sure thats what ive done. But i thought it would automatically update to PSE. You mentioned it would not. Thankyou for that part.
I have cleared/re organised my windows picture folders and organised them into sub folders but when i went into PSE the old pic files and folders were showing there - except they advised no picture or data is available.
So this confuses me as there is too much files in PSE now and i cant seem to get rid of them.
The other concern is the new photos i have loaded into windows pictures program, how do i get them into PSE. This is really hard to explain in email., so i do apologise if i dont make sense or repeat myself.
But my main concern is if PSE doesnt update why does it keep old pic folders in the program if nothing is available.
i tried to uninstall and then reinstall and start teh program all over again with my newly organised windows folders but the old stuff remianed even though i uninstalled the program ????
    Thanks

  • Importing Albums into Photoshop Elements 8 for MAC

Has anyone had experience in importing a series of Albums - created in Photoshop Elements (6) for Windows - into Photoshop Elements 8 for MAC?  I have thousands of photos, arranged into separate Albums, that were created in Photoshop Elements for Windows and which were backed up onto an external harddrive, that I want to move into Photoshop Elements 8 for MAC.  However, I do not see how to do this. HELP!!!

    Dear Ms. Brundage -
I followed the directions detailed in your blog entitled "Moving a Catalog from Windows to Mac" as well as your description of the process on page 58 of your book "Photoshop Elements 9 - the missing manual."
I installed PE9 for Windows and converted my catalog.  I then backed up that catalog to an external hard drive.  I then connected the hard drive to my MAC on which I also installed Photoshop Elements 9 for MAC.  I opened the Organizer and tried to restore that converted catalog.  However, for each file in the converted catalog, a dialog box opened that said "Could not restore file:  /Volumes/Name of External Hard Drive/Filename.JPG."
I then made a second backup of the converted catalog using Photoshop Elements 9 for Windows and then tried to restore that catalog again on the MAC using Photoshop Elements 9 for MAC, again to no avail.
Do you have any idea what the problem may be?
    Thanks again.

  • Import images into Photoshop Elements Photo Organizer from Safari

    Hi,
I recently bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 for Mac. Safari is my default browser. I wonder, has anyone seen an extension or add-on to Apple Safari 5.0 that creates a context dialog that would allow one to import an image from a web page into the Adobe Elements 9 Photo Organizer. Currently, the process of importing into Adobe Photoshop Elements Photo Organizer is both elaborate and tedious. Alternatively, am I simply unaware of some simple drag and drop method to import an image from the web into Photoshop Elements 9 Photo Organizer?

    Hi Jack
It’s just not possible on the MAC even with the better Firefox open source Web Browser.

  • WIA import direct into Photoshop *NO FILE CREATED*

This is driving me nuts and I cannot seem to find anything regarding it. I'd use TWAIN happily, but my scanner doesn't seem to have a 64-bit twain driver. So I'm stuck with WIA. But, the thing that drives me crazy is that WIA always creates the file with an arbitrary name and format which I always end up having to delete later. I much preferred the old TWAIN method that just scanned it directly to Photoshop without any file made until you saved it from Photoshop. So, this may actually be more of a Windows M$ question than Photoshop, but I'm giving it a shot here.
Is there anyway to scan directly into Photoshop CS4 64-bit without WIA creating a file at all?

There are no 64 bit TWAIN drivers on Windows.
I think the WIA interface from Microsoft always creates an intermediary file.

  • Can I import .aep into photoshop or convert to .psd

I helped a team mate (at a different location)  with a Poster  (Many Layers).  She needed some special effects.
I imported the .psd into After Effects 2014 cc
This is a single frame composition.
I used special effect video files to add effects and just lined them up where I wanted on the single frame to get the effect i wanted. (Explosion.mov)
I did this with 6 or 7 different .mov files to create the effect I wanted.
I exported the poster for delivery.
    Turned out great.
My problem is: There are quite a few different pictures and different posters that have to be made.  I just want to send the layers I made back to the Poster (Photoshop) Team Mate.  (She doesn't know or do After Effects)
How Can I get my project with all the layers BACK to .psd or.... .how can I save this so she can import my .aep back into .psd so she can continue to work there?
    Is this possible?
Can someone suggest a better workflow?

Photoshop cannot open the .aep file - you need After Effects to open that.
I'm not sure how you could put AE data back into PSD form.

  • Don't have Window Library menu option. [was: Getting Adobe Shape into Photoshop cc photography bundle

The Shape tutorial says to open a new document in PS, go to Window tab and select Library.  My Window tab doesn't display Library as an option.  Help!

I have an active subscription to the CC photography bundle, and my photoshop toolbar says Photoshop CC (no 2014) so I assume I have the straight-up CC version.  Any thoughts on why the Library option does not appear under my Window tab?  I understand from the Shape tutorial that this is where I access My Libraries images.  Thanks for your help!

  • Importing PDFs into Photoshop

    Hi,
Easy question I assume, but for some reason am stuck.
Have been creating linework in CAD and printing to PDFs. Set up a new document in photoshop, A1, 300ppi, RGB colour 8 bit. When I go to 'Place' the PDFs into the blank document, all the linework is extremely feint. I assume this has something to do with the settings?
    Many thanks in advance

If the lines are too thin for further processing then you can apply in Acrobat Pro
Advanced > Print production > Fix hairlines
Here for Acrobat Pro 8, maybe in a different location in newer versions.
Vector files can be modified by Illustrator but Fix hairlines is really simple.

  • Importing Albums into Photoshop Elements 11

I can import the photos and catalougs from elements 10 to 11 but how do I import the albums and smart albums I have created from the photos within the system?

OK try importing just the album data using a text file.
    1. Open PSE10 Organizer and click on the dropdown menu to the right of the green plus symbol under albums in the right hand panel.
    2. Choose save albums to file.
    3. Select Export all albums and click OK
    4. Choose a folder such as Documents and click save
    5. Close PSE10 and launch the PSE11 Organizer
    6. Click the album dropdown next to green plus symbol in the left hand panel then choose Import Albums from file
    7. Navigate to Documents (or wherever you saved the XML file called Albums) and highlight it and click Open.

  • How can I import a .pdf from CorelDRAW into photoshop?

    Hey,
I have a client who is sharing a CorelDRAW file with me, but I can't find a way to import it into Photoshop. I know Corel is for Vectors, and Photoshop is now, but I thought the .pdf format would be compatible... I managed to import one pdf, but the colours were very distorted. A larger file just wouldn't open at all.
Any help? I only have Photoshop, not Illustrator.
    Thanks,

If you had Illustrator you could take advantage of smart objects.
Has been awhile since I worked in Corel (so do not remeber if Corel had clipboard settings whcih need adjusuting), but do remember copying a path, getting that into Phothshop as shape layer for part of the artowrk in a trade show poster.
