Importing song to windows movie maker

I am unable to import a purchased song into my windows movie maker.  Purchased many songs before. This is the first song that wouldn't download.  Please help.  Thx

Your downloaded music is in Apple's AAC(m4a) format and Windows Movie Maker does not accept this format.  You can convert it to mp3 in iTunes.
Itunes menu, EDIT/PREFERENCES, GENERAL tab.  Go in IMPORT SETTINGS, under IMPORT USING, you have various Encoder, AAC. AIFF, APPLE LOSSLESS, MP3 and WAV.  Select MP3 encoder, then OK and OK.
Right mouse click the song(s) in music library will give you a Menu which includes CREATE MP3 version.

  • Importing Songs to Windows Movie Maker

I am trying to use some of my iTunes songs on a photo dvd/movie I'm making for a friend in Windows Movie Maker. I have tried burning an audio cd, a data cd, and an mp3 cd. iTunes will not let me burn the mp3 cd, and Windows Movie Maker "doesn't support" the other formats.
Any ideas on how I can get my songs onto my photo cd?
Thanks in advance and happy holidays, Aileen

i'm having a problem too. i can't find where to go to post a new topic this site isn't great at having that stand out...but anyways i want to make a movie and i got all these great songs i got from itunes...but i can't use most of them. just recently i did some stuff and now i can access some that i got on this computer. on my last computer i bought songs off itunes but then it started to crash so i saved them to a huge memory drive and then reimported them to my new computer. None of those songs work but the ones i've gotten on this computer so far do...it says something about the codec not being supported but i don't know where to go to download a codec or whatever it's talking about. Someone please help.

  • Using songs with Windows Movie Maker

How do you use purchased songs in Windows Movie Maker? Please help.

One caveat to the above posts: if any tracks you've purchased, or intend to purchase, are/were iTunes Plus, those do not have copy protection and so can be converted to MP3 which, I presume, Movie Maker can handle.
Note that tracks purchased from the iTunes Store are for your own personal use. You cannot create a movie with them and then give that movie to others, post it on a web site, etc. Similar restrictions are in place on all download music stores.

  • Can Encore 2.0 import file from Windows Movie Maker?

I have just purchased and installed Encore 2.0, so I am a true novice. I have a few movies I created using Windows Movie Maker and wanted to import them into Encore 2.0; however, when I try to do so I get a message telling me that "the software used to decode is not available on this system." Is there away for me to fix this problem, or is Encore not capable of importing these files?
    Thanks for any help!!!

Actually, Encore does support WMV files. I just imported an AVI into Movie Maker and exported it as a WMV file at the default settings and it imported fine into Encore.
Apparently there's something about the WMV files in question that Encore doesn't like, however. From the error message I'd suspect that the codec used to export the file is missing. Is the system you're running Encore on the same system you used to export from Movie Maker? If not, you might want to try loading your Movie Maker project files onto the same system and re-exporting them. Also double-check that the settings for the exported movie correspond to a legal video format (although you'd probably get a different error message if that was the cause).

  • Use iTunes songs w/ Windows Movie Maker?

Is there anyway to make it so i can use my iTunes songs with my windows movie maker? I have some songs on there i want to use for background music. If there is anyway please tell me.
    Thanks,

*I paid for the song and should be able to do whatever I want with it.*
They protect it because it is not yours to do with whatever you want, just as a CD is not yours to do with whatever you want.
A copyright allows you to do certain things but it also does not allow you to do certain things such as selling it or relabel it and call it yours.

  • Adding iPod Songs to Windows Movie Maker

This has been covered here a number of times already, but once again:
Tracks purchased from any legal download store carrying major-label content, including the iTunes Store, are copy-protected and so cannot be directly converted to any other format. You can, however, burn the tracks purchased from the iTunes Store out to an audio CD, at which point it will act just like any other normal audio CD.

  • Windows movie maker codec error message

When I try to import downloaded itune songs into windows movie maker, to insert into "movie" I get an error message something like "proper codec not downloaded for selected song" Any help appreciated. [email protected]

You need to install an AAC codec or use iTunes to convert the songs to MP3. If those songs contain DRM, neither method will work.

I am making a video on windows movie maker and I want to add a song into it from my iTunes, but when I found the songs, they were just empty folders.

Sorry purchased content is only playable in iTunes and cannot be used with other programs. You are allowed to burn purchased content onto an audio CD, but thats about it.

  • Converting quick time into windows movie maker

I wanted to create a basic slideshow in windows movie maker that includes video clips too. I've done this before. However, I have a video clip that was taken on my digital camera and downloaded into the computer. It is a quick time file. I am not able to import this into windows movie maker. Is there a way I can convert this? Or export it out onto my video camera thru firewire? I don't want to spend money on Quick Time Pro 7.

iDVD is the app, that comes "free" with any Mac, to author, encode and burn videoDVDs....
I'm pretty sure, your digicam came with some software, which allows the download to a Windows machine... read the manual.....
or, you ask in some Movie Maker forum?
such .mov files would be imported flawless on a Mac, but Windows?... very little support here...

  • Import songs from iTunes into  Windows Movie Maker

I have found it difficult to use my songs in any other application. I'm creating videos using Windows Movie Maker (Vista) and when I go to import the songs aren't showing up in the iTunes Music folder. I also downloaded the files into an external drive. When I opened the external drive separate the songs were there. When I was in Windows Movie Maker and went to import the files weren't there. Any suggestions on how to use songs from iTunes. I feel as though I've purchased them and can't use them anywhere else other than on my iPod and computer.

If they are protected files, that's correct. You can only use them on iPods, authorized computers and Apple TVs.

  • I am trying to use songs I purchased from iTunes in my video using Windows Movie Maker.   Can anyone tell me how to do that?

I am trying to use songs I purchased from iTunes, from my library if you will, in my video (slideshow) using Windows Movie Maker.
Does anyone know if that is possible to do?   If so, would you please tell me how to do that?

    Hello, a1p2r3.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple options available to you to transfer purchased media to your computer.  Below, I have included a couple articles that outline this process.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848
Please note that this feature works only for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your iPod to the iTunes library.

  • I'm trying to get a song from iTunes to Windows Movie Maker

I'm trying to get a song from my iTunes library to Windows Movie Maker so I can use it in a video. I've tried importing it, copying it and pasting it, and clicking and dragging it, but each time, it says that it could not be impoted... Does anyone know how I can fix this?

What file format is the song in, Lauen?
To check, right-click on the song and select Get info. In the Summary tab, what is it saying next to "Kind"?

  • Importing Windows Movie Maker Project

I coworker brought in a PC with Windows Movie Maker on it (XP) that would not render without crashing. Now she has a 28 minute video that consists of images and audio.
Would there be a way to import this into an Apple application (especially iMovie) so I can finish tweaking it and make a DVD.
She needs it for graduation on the 10th and it is rather useless being stuck in its current format.
As it has several hundred photos and music, I would rather not rebuild the slideshow by hand.
    Any suggestions?

  • How to import itune file to windows movie maker

When I try to import an itune file to windows movie maker the error message says a necessary codec file is missing...how can i perform this import?

Find where on the computer the song files are.  Then go into iTunes, use the command File > Add Folder to LIbrary, and navigate it to the folder(s) that contain the songs.
If the files are in MP3 format, they will be added to iTunes immediately.  If they are in unprotected WMA format, iTunes will convert them (one at a time) and add theconverted copy to the iTunes Library, leaving the original in place.
