Importing Source to the DTR

Hi Friends,
I have developed an Application and its working fine.
But some how one View has not been updated in the DTR,thus when i Sync from the DTR i am unable to get the latest source.
Since the Application is working fine on my Local System,how can i put this entire DC onto the DTR so that whenever i can Sync thereafter from the DTR i can be able to get the Latest Source.
Please help me out.
Thanks and regards,
Chandrashekar.

Hi Chandrasekar,
Have you checked in your activity that contains the changes done?
Please check if there are any open activities. If yes check them in and then try.
Since you can view the changes in yuor local run, I supspect if you have integrated your activity into DTR.

• Imported source file name changed for the external table

Hi,
I have external table from flat file. Now the source file name is changed. I can change the file location to point to the new file name, but I can't update the source for the flat file property(as seen under flat file properties,structure tab. the column "Sampled From"). Is there way to have this update without having to import the file using the new file name again?

In the Files section in the object navigator find the flat file you want to change the source of.
Double click on the actual file, and on the General tab change the old file name to the new one.
The fact that it has been sampled from a different file should not 'disturb' the working of the external table.
However, if the structure of the new file is different I'd suggest to resample.
Good luck, Patrick

• IMPORT METADATA IN THE SOURCE MODULE

Please I have a problem with importing metadata, after I select the correct schema, it show me some tables but, it' doesn't show me my tables.
Have I to configure a Runtime Repository Connection before importing source metadata.
Someone know why?

Importing metadata into OWB has noting to do with runtime. It's all about design environment.
1. Define module (source or target - no matter)
2. For the module define the source - database link, and may be owner schema. Test connection.
3. Perform the import.
If you refer as "your tables" those your've just designed within OWB - you don't have to import them again into different module. Instead you can use them as a source directly.

• Since my last software update, my iphoto 11 will not import any photos from any source. The circle just spins...when I go to force quit, it says iphoto not responding. Backed up iphoto library, uninstalled and reinstalled iphoto. Still not working. Help!

Since my last software update, my iphoto 11 will not import any photos from any source. The circle just spins...when I go to force quit, it says iphoto not responding. Backed up iphoto library, uninstalled and reinstalled iphoto. Still not working. Help!

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

• How to delete Open Activities in the DTR Web UI? Functions are missing...

Hi@all,
we have some problems with open activities and files that are checked-out.
To solve this we found this desciption by SAP:
"Deleting Open Activities in the DTR Web UI
Since open activities can be a problem if they cannot be found any longer - for example if a developer
PC crashed - there is a function in the DTR Web UI to delete such activities (ADMINA permissions are
required).
1. Open the following URL: http://<host>:<port>/devinf and choose the Design Time Repository link.
2. Choose the system-tools link.
3. Choose the Activity search.
4. Navigate to the workspace that contains an open activity that is no longer needed and cannot be deleted by its owner.
5. Search for open activities.
6. For the activity that is no longer needed, choose Revert this activity.
7. Select the Delete the activity resource also checkbox and confirm with Revert.
The activity is reverted and deleted."
But when we go there, we only found "Activity Search" under "...\system-tools\reports\ActivitySearch", not directly under s"ystem-tools" or "administration".
So all functions for reverting or deleting activities are not there (because of reports?!?), we only can watch them.
Where can we found this? How can we delete activities? in some views files are checked-out, in others they are not... and also activities only can be seen here, not in CBS or somwhere else... we try to solve this by deleting "open" activities.
Any idea or help?
thx

Thanks for help, it works (we still "ignore" that dropdown?!? stupid).
Question:
Is there only deleted the activity or also source code is reverted? Waht is with souce code that is actual?
Because we have some activities on projects that work well, but activities are there for 3 years right now. We want to make NW OK...

• How do I convert an excel (2008) document to Numbers? When I drag the Excel document onto the Numbers icon I get, "Import error. The file format is invalid"

How can I convert an Excel (2008) document to Numbers. When I drag the Excel document onto the Numbers icon I get, "Import error. The file format is invalid.

That extension identifies the most current Excel file format, a format that can be opened by Numbers '09 (and by Numbers '08).
A check with Numbers '09 shows it capable of opening .xlsx files when right-clicked (and Numbers chose as the application to open, when double-clicked (if Numbers has been set as the default application to open this type of file, or when dragged to the Numbers icon in the dock.
I see two possibilities for Numbers inability to open it and the message you receive:
1. The file is not actually an Excel file, and the sender has added the .xlsx extension to the filename manually.
2. The file is an Excel file, but has somehow been corrupted.
Have you tried opening the file with a different application? The open source Office suites, OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice and NeoOffice can also open .xlsx files. If they're unable to open this one, that would point toward the file itself being faulty. You can download these applications from their rspective websites, linked in the names above. All request a donation to support future development, but only Neo requires one to have been made recently, and that only for the current release (which won't be necessary to open .xlsx files).

Hi...
Based upon the folder error, my guess is the Desktop Manager is having difficulty determining your default mail client. I am not sure why but it is easy enough to redo a profile in Outlook just to test this. (Control Panel / Mail)
Of course, I would backup my PST file prior to doing this and then create a new profile and import the PST file into the new profile. Once the profile is running and tested ok, I would again go to the Control Panel / Mail and set the default profile to point to the newly created profile. Then run the Desktop Manager and see what happens....

• Multiple authentication sources with the same category

Quote from portal help:
"Multiple authentication sources can use the same category. However, because the prefix is prepended to the user and group names, you need to be certain that the domains involved do not have different users or groups with the same name. That is, if a LizaR user exists on one domain, and a LizaR user exists on another domain, they must be the same user because only one user will be created."
Fine, let's say I am "certain that the domains involved do not have different users or groups with the same name".
But there is other concern I have here. I want to know how portal will RECOGNIZE which authentication source to use?
Let's say I have 2 auth sources AS1 and AS2 with the same category MyAuth. AS1 use WS1 to authenticate against LDAP1 and AS2 use WS2 to authenticate against LDAP2.
Now, I have a user - Dmitry. I am trying to login into portal and I selected AS1 to do actual authentication. My question is how portal will CHOOSE which auth source to use because all portal knows about me is <MyAuth\Dmitry> that is came from portal login screen? Both auth sources match this pattern so seems like portal may choose any of them.
Does it mean that portal will try to authenticate again AS1 and if this attempt failed then you AS2?
I didn't find any explanation in portal documentation.
Thank you.

Yes, it seems you are right. As soon as portal have found CORRECT user there is no issue anymore because user is bind to unique auth source that actually has been used to created this user.
I think my main confusion come from the fact that having
and <UserName> is not enough to UNIQUE identify user in portal as soon as
can be the SAME for different auth sources.
Let's have you have user created by AS1. According API this user created by this AS1 will have 4 different names, like sUniqueName, sAuthenticationName, sLoginName and sDisplayName. But portal is going to search user in portal database BASED on information that is available in login form -
and <User Name>. At this point portal has no idea about sUniqueName and all this things.
Now if there were 2 users in database that have been created by 2 different auth sources with the same
and <User Name> then I don't understand how portal will figured out which user to choose from. I guess
value somehow MUST participate in sUniqueName value.
has to be involve in process of finding user in database. In this scenario 2 users will be retrieved from database and what is important these 2 users are different, they have been created by different auth sources. Now question became which user is CORRECT one?

• Error when deploying imported LCA when the same application already exisits.

Afternoon All,
We are getting errors when trying to deploy a newly imported LCA when the application was already running on the server.
Environment: ES2.5 All recent SP's and QF's applied. Windows 2k8 R2, MS SQL 2005
Details: We already had a deployed version of the application. I wanted to release a new cut of the application which I created a LCA from our dev server. I took the deployment and attempted to deploy to our training server which as mentioned did have a version of the code deployed. The message came up stating it found the application and that it would "overwrite" the currently deployed application. I proceed with a result of the application being successfully imported but failed on the deploy. So now I have a imported new application version however get errors when attempting to deploy. I have done some investigation on this issue and found nothing. Any direction would be nice
thanks, Carmen

Carmen,
We are facing the same issue as mentioned above. Did you ever get this resolved? We are also Windows 2k8 R2, MS SQL 2005.
Thanks for any and all help.

• Setting BitmapImage source inside the skin

Hi all
As a Flex 4 newbie, I've been banging my head for two days trying do to something that could seem pretty trivial to you (and to me as well at first sight) but lefted me completely clueless...
I want to design a fairly simple custom component using the Gumbo architecture. My component falls into 2 parts:
* a logo picture on the left side
* a buttonbar next on the right side
My component must be designed to be quite generic, that is to say the source of the logo image is a property of the component as well as the items of the ButtonBar.
So here is what I did so far:
I wrote an AS class describing the behavior of my component "MapToolBar.as":
package nova.style
import spark.components.ButtonBar;
import spark.components.supportClasses.SkinnableComponent;
import spark.primitives.BitmapImage;
[SkinState("normal")]
[SkinState("disabled")]
public class MapToolBar extends SkinnableComponent
// Define skin parts
[SkinPart(required="false")]
public var clientLogo:BitmapImage;
[SkinPart(required="true")]
public var tools:ButtonBar;
// Define component data
private var _logoSrc:String;
public function set logoSrc(src:String):void {
_logoSrc=src;
[Bindable]
public function get logoSrc():String {
return _logoSrc;
private var _toolsItems:Array;
public function set toolsItems(items:Array):void {
_toolsItems=items;
[Bindable]
public function get toolsItems():Array {
return _toolsItems;
public function MapToolBar()
super();
override protected function getCurrentSkinState():String {
if (enabled) {
return "normal";
} else {
return "disabled";
And the associated skin mxml class:

<s:SparkSkin xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/halo">
<fx:Declarations>

</fx:Declarations>
<fx:Script>

import mx.collections.ArrayList;
import nova.style.skins.ToolBarSkin;
// Initialise les données des skinparts après leur création.
private function handleCreationComplete(event:Event):void {
clientLogo.source = hostComponent.logoSrc;
tools.dataProvider = new ArrayList(hostComponent.toolsItems);

</fx:Script>
<s:states>
<s:State name="disabled"/>
<s:State name="normal"/>
</s:states>

<fx:Metadata>
[HostComponent("nova.style.MapToolBar")]
</fx:Metadata>
<s:layout>
<s:BasicLayout />
</s:layout>
<s:HGroup creationComplete="handleCreationComplete(event);">
<s:BitmapImage id="clientLogo"/>
<s:ButtonBar id="tools" skinClass="nova.style.skins.ToolBarSkin"/>
</s:HGroup>
</s:SparkSkin>
As you can notice, my inner ButtonBar has got its own skinClass has well. This is because I'm trying to divide my application in as many reusable bricks as possible. So here's ToolBarSkin:

<s:SparkSkin xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" alpha.disabled="0.5" xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/halo">

<fx:Metadata>

[HostComponent("spark.components.ButtonBar")]

</fx:Metadata>
<s:states>
<s:State name="normal"/>
<s:State name="disabled"/>
</s:states>
<fx:Declarations>

<fx:Component id="middleButton">
<s:ButtonBarButton skinClass="nova.style.skins.ToolBarButtonSkin"/>
</fx:Component>
</fx:Declarations>
<s:Rect x="-5" alpha="0.8" left="1" right="1" top="1" bottom="1" radiusX="10" radiusY="10">
<s:fill>
<s:LinearGradient rotation="-90">
<s:GradientEntry color="#040303" ratio="0"/>
<s:GradientEntry color="#858584" ratio="1"/>
</s:LinearGradient>
</s:fill>
</s:Rect>

<s:DataGroup id="dataGroup" top="5" left="10" right="5" bottom="5">
<s:layout>
<s:HorizontalLayout gap="12" />
</s:layout>
</s:DataGroup>
</s:SparkSkin>
And yes, the ButtonBarButton skin is also customized, 'cause I want to display an icon on them... Here it is :

<s:SparkSkin xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"

Finally, in my main application I invoke my component like this :
<nova:MapToolBar logoSrc="@Embed(source='/assets/img/clients/ge.png')" skinClass="nova.style.MapToolBarSkin">
<nova:toolsItems>
<s:ButtonBarButton id="redBtn"
label="Red"
data="@Embed(source='/assets/img/crown.png')"

label="Orange"
data="@Embed(source='/assets/img/disk.png')"
/>
<s:ButtonBarButton id="yelloyBtn"
label="Yellow"
data="@Embed(source='/assets/img/nuclear.png')"
/>
</nova:toolsItems>
</nova:MapToolBar>
Unfortunately,I get the following at runtime:
* the logo image is never displayed - yet the path is correct and the step-by-step debug confirms that the handleCreationComplete() method gets called with correct values being assigned to my parts !
* each buttonbarbutton throws this stackexception, and of course my button icons aren't displayed either, only buttons' backgrounds show up:

Any help would be really much appreciated
Thanks

Well, I've already solved one of the two issues
In order to display the icons on my buttonbar buttons, I just needed to point at {hostComponent.data.data} instead of {hostComponent.data}. I'm not sure why, but {hostComponent.data} in my skin class is a handle on my instance of ButtonBarButton, not its "data" property. Any explanation is welcomed
I still have got the first issue though. Oddly enough my design works if I put an mx Image instead of the spark BitmapImage for the client logo. That will do the trick for the moment but I'd prefer to deliver a 100% pure spark component in my prototype, and I can see no reason why BitmapImage works inside my ButtonBarButtons and doesn't otherwise...

• Importing, it names the roll for me, how do I get it to ask me for name?

Hi. This is driving me nuts. In iPhoto when I import photos, instead of prompting me to name each roll, it automatically names the rolls. "Roll 17" or whatever. I want it to ask me before importing. How do I make iPhoto do this?
Thank you so much!

iMac and MacBook pro Mac OS X (10.4.9)

The only way is to Import all of the photos from your camera or card when iPhoto detects the device. EX, you connect your camera, and the Import screen automatically opens with a place for you to title the roll. Then you have to import all the items on the camera. [If iPhoto doesn't launch and open the Import dialog when you attach the camera, go to Image Capture in your Applications folder. In IC preferences you set which application (or none) you want to open when connecting a camera.]
If you use File> Import to Library, it doesn't allow you to name the roll first. After the import, view the library in film roll view. Open the Info pane (lower left corner), select the roll's number, and you can type a new roll title in the Info pane.
If you import a folder of photos already on your hard drive, selecting the folder (or dragging it into the iPhoto window) will create a film roll with the same name. If you'd like a matching album, drag the folder directly into the Source Pane. An album and film roll will be created with the same name as the folder. Once copied into the iPhoto Library, you can delete the folder that was outside of iPhoto.
