Importing the (active) Fix Asset with ◦Accumulated ordinary depreciation to Sap Business One 9
Hi all,
I'm trying to upload the Active Fix Asset to the SBO (no new).
for example:
item: FixAsset
Useful life : 48 (month)
Remaining Life: 12 (month)
APC(Historical cost): 10000
Accumulated Ordinary Depr.: 7500
So Value Balance: 1500
and Life Balance : 12 month
I have tried to Import active ITEM by Excel ,follow this link : Importing Fixed Asset Master Data from Microsoft Excel - SAP Business One 9.0 - SAP Library
every time recieve the message :
Cannot import asset "fixasset"; a new asset's useful life and remaining life must be the same in depreciation area "AFA"
Hi,
Please check SAP note:
2001876 - The system does not consider the Salvage Value nor the
Remaining Book Value when you import assets
Thanks & Regards,

Crystal Reports Dynamic Parameters with SAP Business One
Okay, I've got this very strange issue with dynamic parameters in Crystal Reports connected to SAP Business One.
Let's start with the software versions:
- Crystal Reports 12.3.0.601
- SAP Business One 8.8 (8.80.231) SP: 00 PL: 13
- Windows XP SP3
(SBO Server on Windows 2003 and SQL 2005)
What I'm about to describe is something I've tried in several reports and for which I created a very, very simple test report to see if it was reproducible in a very simple situation.
- I connected to a Business One server through CR's SBO connection type. Logon is successful, tables are shown.
- I pick OCRD and plac CardCode and CardName in the details section on the report. Previewing the report shows data.
- I create a dynamic parameter on CardCode and in the Select Expert I select the CardCode field and define that that should be equal to the parameter.
- I preview the report again. Now it asks me in such a parameter screen for logon credentials. It shows the server and database it tries to connect to and in the username it shows the SQL Server username I used to connect to the SQL Server in the first place. However, the password for that user is not accepted. I also tried to login with the Windows administrator user and with the SBO manager user, but no success with any attempt.
I also tried to add a static parameter and add all database values to the list. Same screen, different result:
Crystal Reports 2008 wrote:
Logon Failed.
Error in File UNKNOWN.RPT:
Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. (rptcontrollers.dll)
(On a side note: the report is saved as report1.rpt)
Anyone else got similar issues and found a solution?Hi,
When you have fixed your crystal installation following the note posted earlier, please take a look at the [how to guide|http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700000882232009E.pdf] and also at the [e-learning|http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700001370262010E] about SAP Business One 8.8 and Crystal Reports.
There are so called "tokens" which you need to use instead of dynamic parameters.
Dynamic paramters don't work in SAP Business One 8.8, if they are not defined as a static paramter with token.
Best regards,

Hello,
I have an issue with connecting client SB1H on Windows, the scenario is as follows:
1.- Server:
Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11.3 kernel version: 3.0.76-0.11 IBM
NDB and Server are review 69 SP06
2.- Client:
Windows 8 Pro Virtual Machine on Microsoft Hyper-V
SB1H PL 11 version 32bits
SAP HANA Studio version 1.0.60
When I run SB1H the following message appears:
There is a problem with the server's security certificate. The security certificate is not from a trusted certifying authority. SAP Business One is unable to connect to the server.
Any idea what could be the solution?Hi,
Please check SAP notes:

Crystal Server with SAP Business One Crystal
Hi,
We have installed Crystal Reports Server 2008 on a server which already had Crystal Reports 2008 (12.1.0.892) (Fix pack 3, SAP Business One version) installed, as well as SAP Business One 8.8.
This is the first time we have dealt with the CR Server application.
The CCM & the CMC are running fine as are all the services.
When running CR 2008 and choosing Save As: Enterprise, the error message "No authentication plugins are installed" appears.
The Business View manager pops up a log on box and no authentication methods appear in the drop down box.
Is it possible the SAP install has corrupted the Crystal Server install, as the authentication plug in dll's do appear to be missing from the server.
The same issue arises when istalling the client tools on a client which has the same designer version installed, but not on a client which has on older version installed.Resolved by uninstalling everything Crystal related, deleting the Business Objects folers, then reinstalling starting with Crystal Server.
The install of the B1 specific versions must not contain some necessary files, which are then not installed by the other products -
Can different cluster of SAP Business One installed on the same Server
Hi!
Can anyone tell me if B1 different cluster version installed and run on the same server. Example B1 2005A AND B1 2005B. If it can, could you please include the procedure how can it be done.
Thanks,
Jo BorlagdanNo, A and B have different patch cycles - so there would be conflicts in SBO-Common. Therefore it will not work.
You could try to workaround that with named instances of MSSQL, but installation & update would need additional care + workarounds.
The best way to combine 2 SAP Business One cluster "servers" but still on one hardware would be to use a tool like VMWare... - but such a configuration has not been released by SAP - i.e. if there's an issue that could be traced back to the VMWare system, SAP might not be (li?)able to fix it
Sorry,
Frank
Message was edited by: Frank Moebius
BTW: Please note that you need to think eventually about conflicts with MS licenses. SAP has an agreement with MS which ASFAIK covers the license for 1 VMWare Windows system on 1 Windows PC so that we can use WMWare for SAP Business One sandbox systems - after RAM upgrades () it works fine... -
Problem while importing a Crystal Report in SAP Business One
Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem while importing a Crystal Report in SAP Business One, it displaying an error "No matching records found 'Queries' (OUQR) (ODBC -2028) [Message 131-183]" , and there is no use of this table OUQR in the Query.
Kindly let me know the solution.
Regards
Rahul SinghHi Rhaul,
i don't exactly know why this is a problem, but if your not on latest (881 p10) then upgrade and try again.
Or as a workaround,
try saveing from CR to SAP with the CR add-on. That usualy works better then the import.

Know more detail about the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One ?
SAP Business One 9.1 is about to release this year and we can see in the feature enhancements that a significant update is planned in the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One, more commonly known as RSP. Let’s have a quick look what update is planned for RSP in version 9.1:
Enhancements planned in Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One 9.1
RSP is planned to support both SAP Business One on Microsoft SQL Server as well as SAP Business One on HANA Database
RSP Processes and Reports adapted to SAP HANA Database
With this plan RSP will help in the areas of Download, Installation, Go-Live Check, Monitoring, Upgrade and Support for SAP Business One both on SQL Server and HANA.
But like me (non-SAP B1 Consultant) many of you have the question what is RSP and how it helps in support? Here I have tried to gather all information.
What is Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One?
The remote support platform for SAP Business One is designed to protect a SAP Business One installation by providing automated and remote support in a high-volume business.
The platform monitors the entire SAP Business One environment. By significantly reducing the time between the appearance, identification, and resolution of issues, the remote support platform for SAP Business One minimizes the impact on customer databases and processes.
Some Key Features of Remote Support Platform:
Showing alerts to SAP B1 Admin about the events which require their attention, such as low disk space, database backups, etc.
Incident Reports against the issues identified which require attention of SAP Support
Company Database Backup and Restore options
Regular fixes of Company Database inconsistencies
Check, Download and Install regular updates in SAP Business One
Upload Logs and required files to SAP Support or to Partner Support on regular basis
Some details about RSP Backup Management
Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly backups
Perform differential and full database backups
Back up transaction logs
Back up files to shared folders on a network
System Status Report through RSP
From June 1st 2013, it will be mandatory to install, configure and upload the System Status Report (SSR) from Remote Support Platform (RSP) for SAP Business One in order to receive support for messages of a technical nature (upgrades, performance & crashes, etc).
Database uploads only via RSP
From June 1st 2013 SAP Business One Support will only accept database uploads to SAP via remote support platform for SAP Business One. In certain exceptional circumstances STFP may be used but this will constitute a minority of cases.
Microsoft Windows PowerShell Scripting
In the remote support platform studio, you can create tasks using Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting. PowerShell enables you to perform remote administrative tasks on customers’ Microsoft Windows operating systems, by providing full access to Component Object Model (COM) and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).Some Network Prerequisite for RSP
To achieve the internet connection test, you must allow port 80 for the RSP external communication
Disabling antivirus firewall or add the RSP to the trusted zone of the antivirus
Set the correct proxy
Disabling Windows firewall in the TP_link Wireless Configuration Utility

Integrating Java into SAP Business One Via DI Server and the B1WS
Hello Everyone
We are using the B1WS to call the Web Services from our web application. We are able to Generate the WSDL files using the Generator application and now wish to test the connection between our web server and the DI server However I am getting a 404 error from the web service endpoint in the WSDL files (/B1WS/Service.asmx)
I've created a login request from the WSDL which all seems sound, but it's still getting 404 errors when it tries to connect to the endpoint. I've passed the request through tcpmon so I can see the content of it, and the request looks good, but isn't getting any response. Is there any other SAP configuration that needs to be done to publish these services? I have read the Detailed B1WS Word Document and everything seems fine from that standpoint.
In hope, I've made the following configuration changes to the web services application, but am still getting a 404 error:
- Given the ASPNET user and the NETWORK SERIVCE group the required permissions for the SBODI_Server in DCOM configuration.
- Changed the virtual directory home of "B1WS" from
C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One Web Services\B1WS\App_Code to
C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One Web Services\B1WS
This directory has a web.config file, and has the bin files etc, but still seems to be missing a Service.asmx file (this missing , I don't know if that's all that's missing as I don't have any reference application to compare it to as I am using Java.
As usual your help is much appreciated.
Regards
RichardHello everyone,
I've had the same problem with the "missing" Service.asmx.
In my case, it helped to activate "Active Server Pages" and "ASP.NET" in the Web Services Configuration in the Internet Services Manager, which were both deactivated by default.
Maybe this can help you along.
Regards,
Andreas

Capture keystroke from the SAP Business One Desktop
Does anyone know how I can capture a keystroke from the SAP Business One “Desktop” with the UI API?
Basically, open the B1 Client, then click the mouse in the back ground beside the main menu so that the cursor is “nowhere” (not in the search field). Now set some code In the KeyDown event to catch any keystrokes. Nothing happens. The event is not called. I even tried using SetWindowsHookEx API function but never got it to work with an SDK project since there is no form hHandle. Woudlnd even work once I gave the hhandle of the B1 ClientHi Marc,
what is your exact requirement ?
I don't think you can specificly catch a key down in the background - but only because it is not possible to "lose" main menu as active form ( only if you close it -> then search field is active ).
So basically you have to find a logic where you can catch *your* keydown on any form.
Be aware of the fact, that keydown won't let you catch all keys / key combinations.
I had an equal requirement some time ago and after a lot of experimenting ( windows global hook wouldn't work reliable ) I ended up using SBO key shortcuts ( F2-F12 ) and their menu events.

What is the biggest SAP Business One database you have ever seen?
Hi All
I'm trying to determine what capabilities of how big a SAP Business One database can become without it becomming to slow to work with... The reason for this question is that have a customer with a database of 27GB ... The customer have only been in production for one year, but because they roughly place 1500 sales orders each day the growth rate is big...
So the question is simple how many GB is your largest customer and how does the system manage?Hi Rasmus,
I'd agree with the above, the overall size isn't as important as the hardware that they are using. I've seen a 75GB database system which was suffering badly because they hadn't specc'd the disk I/O correctly although memory and CPU were fine (we didn't spec this, it was a site we were called in to help on when they started having issues). Of course, a larger database is going to have other issues (eg backup and restore times, patch upgrade times etc) and you'd probably want to be more proactive on database maintenance than on a smaller database (eg you don't want to have autogrow kicking in during the day so you'd need to make sure that there is sufficient space in the database at all times).
If you are concerned about database size then one option is to clear the history tables. This can reduce the database up to 50% but, of course, you'll lose the change history.
Database archiving is still rumoured to be coming out in the next version.
Kind Regards,

Cannot connect SAP Business One with iPad
Hey all,
I am new to SAP Business One. And i am exploring SAP Business One Mobile Applicaiton for iPad.
I've tried to follow the step to set up my both SAP Business One and iPad but failed.
The message "Connecting to server" keep loading and after few minutes show me "Tje request timed out (-1001)"
So am I did something wrong? Or miss out something?
Please advice with this problem.
Thank you.

Wai LengHey Lisa,
Yes, I've tried what I found in this forum and the Support Portal.
But it's is failed again.
As iPad doesn't really need a mobile phone number, so i just simple key in a number for both SAP B1 and my iPad. Is it any problem?
Another question, I've tested my connection for B1D1, but failed, following is the error message.
com.sap.b1i.adapter.dia.exception.ConnectionFailedException: Connect to Business One failed.
(-107) Unable to connect with the specified username and or password
Anything i miss out?
Thank you.

Import Crystal Reports Dunning letter as SAP Business One layout
Hello,
I have created a dunning letter in Crystal Reports. I want to import this layout as a layout (not a report) in Business One.
Problem is that I don't know the parameters in the report so I can import the layout between the standard PLD layouts (like Dunning 1, dunning 2 dunning 3 dunning all etc). I tried a few but import fails everytime. You also don't get any errormessage when the layout cannot be imported.
Anybody knows what parameters to use in this report? Thanks.
Regards ThijsHello Gordon/ Rahul,
Thanks for yor reply.
I already created a Crystal report that runs as a report. In this case you select the WizardName and the report will give an output of all dunning letters in this report.
Unfortunately it is not possible to import this report because when I do that I only get the error that SAP Business One couldn't import the layout. EXporting a layout is af course not possible because only PLD layouts are available in dunning.
